Dust Devil is a Heavy Armor set assembled from several physical equipment pieces. Unlike many conventional armor families, not every component carries the Dust Devil name.

Dust Devil Armor Set Pieces

A complete base Dust Devil configuration consists of five physical equipment items:

Is Dust Devil Heavy or Medium Armor?

Dust Devil is Heavy Armor. The old description of the set as medium-weight armor is incorrect.

The Core, Arms and Legs belong to the Heavy Armor class, while the Manticore is also a Heavy Helmet. This makes the set suitable for players specifically looking for a heavy combat loadout rather than a medium mobility-focused configuration.

What Does Dust Devil Armor Look Like?

The base Dust Devil design is intentionally improvised. Current in-game descriptions explain that salvaged ship parts and pieces of discarded protective equipment were welded together to create the armor.

The Dust Devil Core also features a cape made from an old Banu wall-hanging, while the Legs use a decorated leather belt. These details are part of the set's scavenger-style visual identity.

How to Get Dust Devil Armor

The base Dust Devil armor pieces are currently obtainable through loot, while the main armor components also have Grade 1 crafting blueprints.

Current community tracking identifies Hurston outposts such as Cutter's Rig, Picker's Field, Rappel and Maker's Point among useful places to search for the base set, with additional armor pieces appearing through other facility loot pools. Exact loot rotations can change between LIVE builds, so no individual location should be treated as a guaranteed permanent drop.

Where to Find Dust Devil Armor in Star Citizen

For players farming the equipment naturally, current reported routes focus heavily on Hurston outpost locations. Dust Devil-equipped NPCs and related loot have been reported around locations including:

• Cutter's Rig;
• Picker's Field;
• Rappel;
• Maker's Point.

Individual pieces have also been reported through facility loot elsewhere in Stanton and Pyro. Because Star Citizen loot pools are actively updated, the correct approach is to treat these as current farming routes rather than guaranteed fixed spawn points.

Can You Craft Dust Devil Armor?

Yes. The base Dust Devil Core, Arms and Legs currently have Grade 1 crafting blueprints. The Manticore Helmet is also craftable.

The Dust Devil body armor uses three primary crafting materials:

• Taranite — Segment Paneling;
• Aslarite — Insulative Liner;
• Riccite — Panel Covering.

The three Dust Devil body pieces therefore currently require approximately 0.19 SCU Taranite, 0.06 SCU Aslarite and 0.19 SCU Riccite.

The Manticore Helmet has its own Grade 1 recipe using Taranite and Aslarite. The Warden Backpack currently has no crafting blueprint.

Dust Devil Armor and Riccite

Riccite is especially relevant to Dust Devil crafting because it is used as the Panel Covering material for the Core, Arms and Legs.

If you intend to craft the equipment rather than receive the finished armor, make sure you have enough Riccite, Taranite and Aslarite for the exact pieces you want to produce.

Dust Devil Core Equipment Capacity

The Dust Devil Heavy Core currently supports several equipment attachments, including:

• up to 8 spare magazines;
• S1–S3 backpack support;
• S1–S2 utility equipment;
• one secondary weapon;
• one primary weapon;
• up to 4 combat throwables.

The Warden Backpack can therefore be equipped directly to the compatible Dust Devil Core.

Does Dust Devil Include a Backpack?

The complete Dust Devil appearance uses the Warden Backpack. It is a separate backpack manufactured by Virgil Ltd., rather than a backpack physically integrated into the Dust Devil Core.

When ordering, check whether your selected configuration includes the Warden Backpack or only the Helmet, Core, Arms and Legs.

Does Dust Devil Include an Undersuit?

No. Current set data specifically shows no undersuit in the Dust Devil set.

Dust Devil Epoque is a special limited-edition version of the set with navy blue and black coloring finished with ornate gold detailing.

• Dust Devil Legs Epoque;
• Warden Backpack Epoque.

Current item data does not show regular NPC shop listings for the base Dust Devil components.

The natural acquisition routes are therefore loot and, for the craftable pieces, fabrication through their current blueprints.
