Buy Prota in Star Citizen when you need this organic harvestable for a Rayari Incorporated research contract or another in-game objective. Choose the required quantity and receive the items through a coordinated player-to-player delivery instead of spending your session searching Stanton or Pyro for Prota spawns.
Prota is a resilient slime mold that survives in highly corrosive environments. It produces a powerful natural adhesive that can be processed into commercial-grade glue. In current Star Citizen gameplay, Prota can be harvested in both the Stanton and Pyro systems and is required for a Rayari Incorporated collection contract.
What Is Prota in Star Citizen?
Prota is an organic harvestable adapted to environments that would be hostile to most other forms of life. The organism can survive corrosive conditions and high atmospheric pressure as long as sufficient water is available.
Its most notable property is the strong adhesive it secretes. According to the in-game description, this substance can be distilled into commercial-grade glue, making Prota valuable as an industrial organic resource.

Prota for Rayari Research Contracts
Prota is currently used in the Rayari Incorporated Additional Resources For Research contract. The mission requires 15 Prota and contributes to Rayari faction progression when successfully completed.
The objective requires the specific Prota item, so another organic harvestable cannot simply be substituted. If you already have the contract and only need the missing resources, ordering the required amount removes the need to locate enough Prota yourself.
Check the quantity shown in your active contract before ordering. Star Citizen mission requirements can change between patches.
Where to Find Prota
Prota currently has confirmed harvesting locations in both Stanton and Pyro. On Arial, Prota clusters can contain approximately 5–10 units. It can also appear around HDMS-Lathan and on Hurston, where surface clusters are currently listed at roughly 2–3 units.
Other known sources include the Ludlow outpost on Hurston and suitable derelict outpost content in Pyro. Prota is associated with acidic environments, so its distribution is more specific than that of a generic surface harvestable.
Spawn availability can vary between locations and sessions, which makes collecting the full 15-unit Rayari requirement more time-consuming than simply finding one deposit.
Can You Buy Prota from NPC Shops?
Current 4.10.1 market data does not show a regular terminal where players can purchase Prota. Several commodity terminals accept it for sale, but that is different from being able to buy the resource there.
This makes harvesting, looting or obtaining Prota from another player the practical ways to acquire individual units.
Prota Cargo Variants
Prota also exists as a commodity in cargo containers. Current game data contains 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 24 and 32 SCU variants.
This product is intended for the individual Prota harvestable unless an SCU cargo option is explicitly listed. Cargo containers should not be confused with individual units intended for a Rayari collection objective.
How Prota Delivery Works
Select the number of Prota units you need and complete your order. Our team will coordinate an available server and meeting point with you, then transfer the items using an appropriate in-game inventory or cargo handoff method.
You remain on your own Star Citizen account throughout standard delivery. Your RSI password is not required.
For other harvestables, access items and mission materials, browse our Star Citizen Items catalog.
Why Buy Prota Instead of Farming?
Prota can be farmed manually, but obtaining enough for a Rayari contract may involve travelling between suitable acidic environments and searching several deposits. Even the larger known Arial clusters contain only part of the 15-unit contract requirement.
Buying the quantity you need is a more direct option when Prota is simply one requirement in your progression and you would rather spend that time completing missions or other activities.
