What Is Tier 0.5 / Dungeon Set 2?

Dungeon Set 2, commonly called Tier 0.5, is the upgraded version of the level 60 Dungeon Set 1 gear.

You do not simply loot the finished Tier 0.5 armor from one boss. Instead, the corresponding Tier 0 pieces are turned in during a long quest chain involving materials, Gold, open-world objectives, summoned dungeon bosses, and the final Lord Valthalak encounter.

The chain upgrades the set in four major stages:

WoW Forever Tier 0.5 Sets by Class

WoW Forever has also introduced updated and role-specific itemization for several classes. The exact reward version available to your character is determined by the current live quest reward and selected class or role rather than an outdated Vanilla item list.

Choose Full Tier 0.5 or Upgrade Only

If your character already owns some Tier 0 or Tier 0.5 pieces, provide the current set progress before the order starts. There is no reason to farm or upgrade pieces that the character has already completed.

Tier 0 Farming Before the Upgrade

Every Tier 0.5 upgrade requires the corresponding Dungeon Set 1 piece.

Tier 0 pieces are primarily obtained through high-level dungeons such as:

• Scholomance;
• Stratholme;
• Lower Blackrock Spire;
• Upper Blackrock Spire.

Some Dungeon Set 1 slots are Bind on Equip, while others come from specific dungeon bosses. If the selected package includes Tier 0 farming, the required base pieces are collected before their corresponding upgrade stage.

Because dungeon boss loot follows normal RNG, farming time can vary when a specific base piece refuses to drop.

The Lord Valthalak Questline

The Dungeon Set 2 progression becomes much larger than a normal armor turn-in after the early upgrades.

The complete chain sends the character through open-world objectives and multiple high-level dungeons while rebuilding Lord Valthalak's Amulet. Depending on class and faction, the progression can involve summoned encounters such as:

• Isalien in Dire Maul;
• Jarien and Sothos in Stratholme;
• Kormok in Scholomance;
• Mor Grayhoof in Lower Blackrock Spire.

The exact summoned bosses used for the amulet pieces depend on the class/faction variant of the quest.

Final Lord Valthalak Encounter in UBRS

The later questline eventually leads to Lord Valthalak himself.

He is summoned inside Upper Blackrock Spire during the final part of the Dungeon Set 2 chain. This is one of the most demanding stages because it requires organized group progression rather than a simple solo quest turn-in.

After the Lord Valthalak storyline is completed, the character can return to the faction-specific quest NPC and finish the final Saving the Best for Last exchange for the Tier 0.5 helm and chest.

Earn 1 Legacy Point

Blizzard officially includes the Lord Valthalak dungeon-set questline in the Adventure section of the WoW Forever Legacy System.

Completing the full chain grants 1 Legacy Point if that account-wide challenge has not already been completed.

Legacy Points are account-wide for supported non-Hardcore characters. Repeating the same completed Legacy Challenge on another character does not provide another point.
