Maraudon is one of WoW's largest returning Classic dungeons and remains an important mid-to-high-level progression destination in Forever. Maraudon Dungeon Overview

Maraudon is located in the Valley of Spears in Desolace. The dungeon is divided into multiple routes instead of following one simple linear path.

Maraudon's branching structure makes targeted runs particularly useful. Characters farming Noxxion do not need the same route as players targeting Lord Vyletongue, while the Scepter of Celebras allows future groups to bypass the outer wings and enter directly into Inner Maraudon.

Maraudon Story and Princess Theradras

Maraudon is both an ancient centaur burial ground and a sacred place connected with elemental earth. Its history revolves around Zaetar, the first son of Cenarius, and Princess Theradras, a powerful elemental force of earth.

Zaetar and Theradras became the progenitors of the centaur race. Their offspring eventually turned against Zaetar and killed him. Princess Theradras remained within Maraudon, where Zaetar's remains and spirit became tied to the corrupted caverns.

The dungeon's story therefore goes beyond defeating hostile centaurs. Players descend through corrupted caverns, confront satyrs and elemental creatures, free Celebras from corruption and eventually challenge Princess Theradras in the deepest part of Maraudon.

Best Maraudon Loot in WoW Forever

Maraudon contains useful rewards for physical DPS, tanks, healers and spellcasters. Inner Maraudon and Princess Theradras are especially valuable for characters approaching level 50.

Specific Maraudon boss drops are never guaranteed. Items remain subject to the normal in-game loot system, and rare rewards such as Blade of Eternal Darkness may require repeated Princess Theradras runs.

Princess Theradras Runs

Players who have already completed the outer Maraudon progression do not always need a full Purple and Orange clear. The Scepter of Celebras provides a shortcut into Inner Maraudon, making targeted Princess Theradras runs considerably more efficient.

This route is useful when farming rewards such as:

• Blackstone Ring
• Blade of Eternal Darkness
• Princess Theradras' Scepter
• Elemental Rockridge Leggings
• Princess-specific quest completion

A Princess run can also include Landslide and Rotgrip when those encounters are part of the selected route.

How to Get the Scepter of Celebras

The Legends of Maraudon quest connects the Purple and Orange wings.

Players must recover two pieces of Celebras' scepter:

After collecting both pieces, defeat Celebras the Cursed. Celebras becomes redeemed and continues the chain with the Scepter quest.

The resulting Scepter of Celebras can be used at the Maraudon portal to transport group members directly to Earth Song Falls in Inner Maraudon.

This permanently changes how efficiently a character can run Maraudon because future groups can skip most of the outer dungeon when their target is Princess Theradras or other Inner bosses.

Corruption of Earth and Seed

One of Maraudon's most important quests is Corruption of Earth and Seed. The objective is to defeat Princess Theradras and help resolve the story surrounding Zaetar.

The current Forever quest rewards allow the player to choose between:

• Thrash Blade – one-handed sword with a chance to grant an additional attack.
• Resurgence Rod – caster/healer-oriented alternative.
• Verdant Keeper's Aim – ranged physical option.

This makes the Princess quest relevant to several different classes rather than only one role.

Other Maraudon Quests

Preparing the relevant quests before a full Maraudon run is particularly valuable because the dungeon is large and several objectives require different wings.
