WoW TBC Tier Set Boost – Tier 4, Tier 5 & Tier 6 Gear
Buy a WoW TBC Tier Set Boost to complete your Tier 4, Tier 5 or current Tier 6 raid set in Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary. Target the specific pieces your character is missing, complete an important 2-piece or 4-piece set bonus, or build a full five-piece raid set through organized weekly raid progression.
Tier sets are different from normal raid gear because their value is not determined by item level alone. Equipping multiple pieces unlocks class and specialization-specific 2-piece and 4-piece bonuses that can improve damage, healing, resource efficiency or survivability. For many characters, completing the next set bonus is more valuable than replacing an unrelated slot with a slightly higher-item-level item.
Choose Tier 4, Tier 5 or Tier 6 based on your current progression. ExpCarry plans the required raid bosses and weekly lockouts around your class token group and missing armor slots instead of farming unrelated bosses.
Current Phase 3 Tier 6 Set Progression
Tier 6 is the current raid set tier in TBC Classic Anniversary Phase 3. The five core Tier 6 pieces are split between the Battle for Mount Hyjal and Black Temple.
To complete the current five-piece Tier 6 set, you need tokens from five specific bosses:
- Gloves: Azgalor – Battle for Mount Hyjal.
- Helm: Archimonde – Battle for Mount Hyjal.
- Shoulders: Mother Shahraz – Black Temple.
- Legs: The Illidari Council – Black Temple.
- Chest: Illidan Stormrage – Black Temple.
Tier 6 set pieces are item level 146. Because all five core slots are divided across two raids, complete Tier 6 progression requires access to both Mount Hyjal and Black Temple.
If your character needs several Tier 6 slots, our TBC Phase 3 Raid Bundle combines full clears of Mount Hyjal 5/5 and Black Temple 9/9.
TBC Tier 6 Token Groups
Tier 6 does not drop as direct class armor. Each boss drops raid tokens shared by three classes. You need the token family that matches your character:
- Forgotten Protector: Warrior, Hunter and Shaman.
- Forgotten Vanquisher: Rogue, Mage and Druid.
- Forgotten Conqueror: Paladin, Priest and Warlock.
For example, defeating Archimonde creates a chance for Helm tokens, but your character still needs the correct Protector, Vanquisher or Conqueror version.
Tier 6 tokens can be exchanged for the corresponding class set pieces through Tydormu inside the Battle for Mount Hyjal raid instance.
More Tier 6 Tokens in TBC Anniversary
TBC Anniversary accelerates Tier 6 gearing compared with the original baseline. Each Phase 3 Tier 6 token boss currently drops three Tier tokens instead of two.
This applies to:
- Azgalor;
- Archimonde;
- Mother Shahraz;
- The Illidari Council;
- Illidan Stormrage.
A complete clear of both current Tier 6 raids therefore produces 15 Tier 6 tokens across the five token bosses. The additional token improves overall gearing speed, but it does not guarantee that your specific class token family will drop.
See our TBC Anniversary Phase 3 Loot Changes Guide for more information about the current token system and other Phase 3 loot changes.
Tier 6 2-Piece and 4-Piece Set Bonuses
You do not necessarily need all five Tier 6 pieces before the set becomes valuable. TBC raid sets provide their major bonuses at 2 equipped pieces and 4 equipped pieces.
This creates three practical Tier Set Boost goals:
- 2-piece target: complete the first set bonus as quickly as possible.
- 4-piece target: secure the main Tier set bonus while leaving one armor slot available for a strong off-set item.
- Full 5-piece set: collect all current core Tier pieces for maximum flexibility between encounters and gear setups.
The best target depends on your class and specialization. In some cases, a powerful 4-piece bonus should be prioritized before weapons or off-set raid gear. In others, the fifth Tier piece mainly provides additional flexibility rather than another set bonus.
Tier 5 Set Boost – Phase 3 Catch-Up Gear
Tier 5 remains useful catch-up and progression gear during Phase 3. Its five pieces are split between Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep: The Eye and are item level 133.
The Tier 5 token locations are:
- Gloves: Leotheras the Blind – Serpentshrine Cavern.
- Legs: Fathom-Lord Karathress – Serpentshrine Cavern.
- Helm: Lady Vashj – Serpentshrine Cavern.
- Shoulders: Void Reaver – Tempest Keep.
- Chest: Kael'thas Sunstrider – Tempest Keep.
Tier 5 uses the following token families:
- Vanquished Hero: Hunter, Mage and Warlock.
- Vanquished Champion: Paladin, Rogue and Shaman.
- Vanquished Defender: Warrior, Priest and Druid.
Tier 5 can be the better choice for a fresh or returning level 70 character when completing a strong 2-piece or 4-piece bonus is faster than waiting for several Tier 6 lockouts.
Tier 4 Set Boost – Entry Raid Gear
Tier 4 is the first TBC raid set and remains a useful catch-up option for alts and fresh level 70 characters with weak dungeon or leveling gear. Tier 4 set pieces are item level 120.
The five Tier 4 slots come from three raids:
- Gloves: The Curator – Karazhan.
- Helm: Prince Malchezaar – Karazhan.
- Shoulders: High King Maulgar – Gruul's Lair.
- Legs: Gruul the Dragonkiller – Gruul's Lair.
- Chest: Magtheridon – Magtheridon's Lair.
Tier 4 token families are:
- Fallen Hero: Hunter, Mage and Warlock.
- Fallen Champion: Paladin, Rogue and Shaman.
- Fallen Defender: Warrior, Priest and Druid.
Tier 4 is no longer current endgame gear, so it should normally be selected only when its set bonuses or specific pieces provide an efficient upgrade for your character.
Which Tier Set Should You Choose?
The highest available Tier is not automatically the most efficient purchase for every character.
- Choose Tier 6 if you are already prepared for current Phase 3 raids and want the strongest current raid set progression.
- Choose Tier 5 for efficient Phase 3 catch-up, useful set bonuses or missing SSC/TK pieces.
- Choose Tier 4 for a fresh level 70, alt or specific early set bonus.
If you already own several Tier pieces, tell us exactly which slots are missing. Targeting one or two bosses is usually more efficient than repeatedly clearing raids that can no longer provide the set pieces you need.
How Tier Set Loot Works
Tier Set progression still depends on raid loot. Killing the correct boss creates an opportunity for your token, but does not automatically guarantee the required class family unless your selected product option explicitly includes a guarantee.
The important variables are:
- the Tier level selected;
- your class token family;
- the armor slots you already own;
- your target 2-piece, 4-piece or full-set goal;
- available raid lockouts;
- the loot conditions included with your order.
Loot Priority or reduced token competition can improve your access when the correct token drops, but these options do not change which token families the boss generates.
How the TBC Tier Set Boost Works
- Select Tier 4, Tier 5 or Tier 6.
- Character check: we review your class, specialization and existing Tier pieces.
- Set goal: identify whether you need a specific slot, 2-piece, 4-piece or full set.
- Boss route: schedule only the raids and bosses that can provide your missing tokens.
- Weekly progression: use the required raid lockouts until the selected target is completed according to the product conditions.
- Token exchange: convert eligible tokens into the appropriate class set pieces.
This approach avoids wasting weekly lockouts on raids that do not contain your missing Tier slots.
Tier 6 Raid Access
Current Tier 6 progression requires access to the Battle for Mount Hyjal and Black Temple. If your character has not completed the required Phase 3 attunements, raid access must be completed before the corresponding Tier 6 bosses can be used for your order.
Previous-phase raid access requirements have been relaxed in the current Anniversary progression, but the current Phase 3 raids retain their own required access progression.
If needed, complete the Mount Hyjal Attunement and Black Temple Attunement before your Tier 6 runs.
Future Tier 6 Pieces
The original five-piece Tier 6 set available in Phase 3 is later expanded with Wrist, Waist and Feet pieces from Sunwell Plateau content. These later pieces are not part of the current Phase 3 Tier 6 raid progression and should only be included once the corresponding content is available.
