  • Radars

Buy Star Citizen radars and equip your ship with the detection system that fits your loadout. Choose the exact radar model, size and class you need, then receive the component through a coordinated in-game delivery.

Radars detect surrounding signatures and provide targeting and situational information to the pilot. Current radar models differ in sensitivity to infrared, electromagnetic and cross-section signatures, detection-assist distances, emissions, power requirements and durability. Choosing the correct radar therefore involves more than simply selecting the highest available grade.

Star Citizen Ship Radars

Radars are ship and vehicle components used to detect and track surrounding contacts. Current Star Citizen 4.10.1 data classifies the available units as Mid Range Radars and includes components from Size 0 through Size 4.

For most replaceable ship-component loadouts, Sizes 1 through 3 are the most relevant. Current radar manufacturers include WillsOp, Groupe Nouveau Paradigme, Chimera Communications, Blue Triangle Inc. and Nav-E7 Gadgets.

How Star Citizen Radars Work

A radar's performance depends on the signature of the target and the characteristics of the radar itself. Current components track multiple detection channels including infrared, electromagnetic and cross-section signatures.

Radar data also includes minimum and maximum aim-assist assignment distances, signal sensitivity, emissions and power requirements. Larger or more capable radar models can provide different detection behavior, but they also have to fit the correct component slot and integrate with the ship's available power network.

Choose the Correct Radar Size

The radar size must match the component slot supported by your ship. A Size 2 radar cannot simply replace a Size 1 unit, even if its detection values are higher.

S1 Radars are used on many smaller spacecraft and currently include models such as Abetti, V801-11, Prophet, SNSR7, Surveyor-Lite and Observer-Lite.

S2 Radars are used by larger ships and include models such as Agrippa, V801-12, FullSpec, Cassandra and SNS-R7x.

S3 Radars are designed for larger spacecraft. Current examples include Anysta, V880 and FullSpec-Max along with lower-grade models in the same Civilian, Military and Industrial families.

Not every radar class is represented at every size, so choose from actual available models rather than selecting Size, Class and Grade independently.

Civilian Radars

WillsOp produces the current Civilian radar family. Examples include the Abetti S1 Grade A, Agrippa S2 Grade A and Anysta S3 Grade A, with lower-grade alternatives available in the same families.

Civilian radars provide general-purpose detection without focusing exclusively on a military, stealth or industrial role. They are a practical option when you want balanced radar behavior for everyday ship use.

Military Radars

Groupe Nouveau Paradigme produces the current Military radar family. Its Grade A progression includes the V801-11 S1, V801-12 S2 and V880 S3.

The V880, for example, currently has 0.95 IR sensitivity, 1.00 cross-section sensitivity and 0.95 EM sensitivity, with an aim-assist assignment range extending beyond 4 km. Military models are therefore relevant to combat-oriented builds where reliable target detection is a priority.

Industrial Radars

Chimera Communications produces the Industrial radar line. Current models include Surveyor-Lite and Observer-Lite at S1, the FullSpec S2 Grade A, and the FullSpec-Max S3 Grade A.

The S3 FullSpec-Max currently offers 0.95 infrared sensitivity, 1.00 cross-section sensitivity and 0.95 electromagnetic sensitivity. Its maximum aim-assist assignment distance is approximately 3.6 km.

The same product family also includes BroadSpec, Surveyor and Observer variants at different grades, giving Industrial ships several price and performance tiers.

Stealth Radars

Blue Triangle Inc. specializes in Stealth radars. Current examples include the Prophet S1 Grade A and Cassandra S2 Grade A.

The Prophet is specifically described around maximizing sensitivity while minimizing pulse emissions. The Cassandra follows the same philosophy at Size 2 and currently combines 0.90 sensitivity across IR, EM and cross-section channels with reduced emissions compared with some performance-oriented alternatives.

Stealth radar selection is especially relevant when your complete ship build is designed around reducing detectable signatures rather than maximizing one isolated component stat.

Competition Radars

Nav-E7 Gadgets produces Competition radars such as the SNSR7 S1 Grade B and SNS-R7x S2 Grade B.

The SNS-R7x is specifically designed around energy efficiency while retaining strong radar performance. Current data lists 0.90 sensitivity for IR, EM and cross-section signals and a maximum aim-assist assignment distance of roughly 1.9 km.

Radar Grades A, B, C and D

Radar families are divided into grades, but Grade A should not be treated as a universal winner across completely different classes. A Grade A Stealth radar and Grade A Military radar are designed around different priorities.

Compare the actual model's sensitivity, detection distances, emissions, power usage and durability rather than purchasing on grade alone.

Radar Sensitivity: IR, EM and Cross Section

Star Citizen uses several signatures when detecting ships. IR represents infrared emissions, EM represents electromagnetic emissions, and Cross Section reflects how detectable the physical profile of a target is to radar.

A radar's sensitivity values influence its ability to work with those signatures. Target detection therefore depends on both sides of the equation: the target must produce a detectable signature, and your radar must be capable of identifying it at the relevant distance.

Radar Range and Aim Assist

Current radar data includes minimum and maximum assignment distances for aim assist. These values scale significantly between different radar sizes and models.

For example, the current S1 V801-11 operates at smaller distances than the S3 V880, while large S3 radars can reach several kilometers of maximum assignment distance. This is one reason radar size and intended ship role should be considered together.

Radar Emissions and Power Usage

A radar is also an active ship component with its own electromagnetic emissions and power requirements. Current Resource Network data assigns radar components a number of power segments depending on their model and size.

This matters for specialized builds. A radar with desirable detection characteristics may also generate a stronger EM signature or require more power than another option. The best choice depends on the entire ship configuration rather than a single maximum-range value.

Buying or Crafting Star Citizen Radars

Many current radar models can be purchased from in-game component stores and also have crafting blueprints. Blueprint availability may require progression or completion of specific contracts before the component can be produced.

Buying the required radar directly avoids having to locate the correct vendor or unlock and craft the corresponding blueprint first.

How Radar Delivery Works

Select the exact radar model and quantity you need. We recommend providing your ship model so the radar size and component compatibility can be verified before delivery.

Our team coordinates an available server and meeting location and transfers the selected radar through an appropriate in-game handoff method.

You remain on your own Star Citizen account throughout standard delivery. Your RSI password is not required.

Upgrade Your Ship Detection Setup

A radar upgrade can be part of a combat, industrial, stealth or general-purpose component build. Instead of treating every radar as interchangeable, choose the model that matches your ship slot and the detection profile you actually want.

For other ship upgrades, browse our Star Citizen ship components and build the rest of your loadout around compatible Power Plants, Coolers, Shields and other components.

You will get
  • The selected Star Citizen radar component.
  • The selected quantity for your ship loadout.
  • Manual player-to-player delivery in the current LIVE universe.
  • Compatibility verification when you provide your ship model.
  • No RSI account password required for standard delivery.
