  • Ship Scatterguns

Buy Ship Scatterguns in Star Citizen and equip your spacecraft with close-range weapons designed to hit targets with multiple projectiles in a wide spread. Choose the exact Ballistic, Laser or Plasma Scattergun that fits your hardpoint and receive the weapon through a coordinated in-game delivery.

Scatterguns trade pinpoint accuracy and long-range effectiveness for strong close-range pressure. Their projectiles spread across an area instead of behaving like a single cannon shot, making distance and positioning especially important when building a Scattergun loadout.

Star Citizen Ship Scatterguns

Scatterguns are specialized ship weapons built around a spread pattern. They are most effective when the target is close enough for multiple projectiles from the same shot to connect.

Current Star Citizen 4.10.1 data includes Ballistic, Laser, Plasma and Distortion Scatterguns. The largest normally purchasable and craftable product families are the Apocalypse Arms ballistic series and Hurston Dynamics Dominance laser series, both covering Size 1 through Size 3.

Special Distortion SizesS4–S6

Main ManufacturersApocalypse Arms, Hurston Dynamics, Amon & Reese and Preacher Armament

Choose the Right Scattergun Size

The weapon must match the available hardpoint on your ship or turret. A Size 3 Scattergun cannot be mounted directly on a Size 2 hardpoint, so size compatibility should be checked before ordering.

S1: Havoc Ballistic Scattergun or Dominance-1 Laser Scattergun.

S2: Hellion Ballistic Scattergun or Dominance-2 Laser Scattergun.

S3: Predator Ballistic Scattergun, Dominance-3 Laser Scattergun or PyroBurst Plasma Scattergun.

Larger S4-S6 Distortion Scatterguns also exist, but their acquisition is much more specialized and they should not be treated as normal store-bought alternatives to the S1-S3 families.

Ballistic Scatterguns

Apocalypse Arms produces the main current Ballistic Scattergun family. These weapons use physical ammunition and are built around delivering a large amount of ballistic damage at close range.

Havoc, Hellion and Predator

The Havoc S1 is the smallest weapon in the Apocalypse Arms Scattergun family and is designed to deliver heavy close-range damage from small weapon mounts.

The Hellion S2 increases the weapon size and saturates nearby targets with ballistic projectiles. Its current description also references smart-ammo functionality capable of supporting different ammunition types.

The Predator S3 is the largest regular weapon in the family. It sacrifices effective range for a wide ballistic spread and is intended to overwhelm targets at close distance.

All three current models can be purchased in-game and have crafting blueprints in the current version.

Laser Scatterguns

Hurston Dynamics produces the Dominance family of Laser Scatterguns. Unlike Apocalypse Arms' ballistic weapons, Dominance Scatterguns use energy and rely on the ship's power and weapon systems instead of a finite ballistic ammunition supply.

Dominance Scatterguns

The Dominance series uses Hurston Dynamics' cascade technology. The weapons are designed so that thermal buildup becomes part of their combat profile, rewarding pilots who understand the weapon's heat behavior during sustained engagements.

The Dominance-1, Dominance-2 and Dominance-3 provide the same basic close-range Laser Scattergun concept across S1, S2 and S3 hardpoints.

Current 4.10.1 data shows all three models as both purchasable and craftable, making them much easier to source than the rarer Distortion Scatterguns.

PyroBurst Plasma Scattergun

The PyroBurst from Amon & Reese is an S3 Plasma Scattergun and should be treated separately from both Laser and Ballistic Scatterguns.

The weapon launches self-detonating plasma projectiles in a spread pattern. It is specifically designed for close-range area saturation rather than pinpoint accuracy.

The current PyroBurst has a crafting blueprint. Conventional shop availability can vary between data sources and versions, so it is best offered only when the weapon is actually available for delivery.

Ballistic vs Laser Scatterguns

Ballistic Scatterguns use physical ammunition. Their main limitation is the finite number of shots that can be carried before the weapon needs to be resupplied.

Laser Scatterguns use ship energy and the weapon-capacitor system instead of conventional ballistic ammunition. They can recover weapon energy, but sustained firing depends on the ship's available power and capacitor configuration.

Both are close-range spread weapons, but they impose different resource requirements on the ship.

Plasma Scatterguns

Plasma Scatterguns are a much smaller weapon category. The current S3 PyroBurst uses self-detonating plasma projectiles and focuses on area saturation in close engagements.

Because the current general-purpose range contains only one major Plasma Scattergun model, it makes more sense to include PyroBurst as an option within Ship Scatterguns rather than create a separate thin product page.

Distortion Scatterguns

Preacher Armament produces a larger family of Distortion Scatterguns: the Salvation S4, Absolution S5 and Condemnation S6.

These weapons use a wide spread of distortion damage to interfere with a target's electronic systems. Their role is therefore different from Ballistic, Laser and Plasma Scatterguns, which are primarily selected for conventional damage.

The current Absolution is especially relevant for capture or boarding gameplay and can be found through contested-zone content. However, the current S4-S6 Distortion Scatterguns do not have normal shop listings or crafting blueprints, so availability should always be confirmed before they are offered for sale.

Scattergun vs Cannon

Scatterguns and Cannons reward very different engagement styles. Cannons concentrate their damage into individual projectiles and retain their effectiveness much better as distance increases.

Scatterguns divide a shot across multiple projectiles. At close distance, several projectiles can connect with the target at once. As range increases, the spread makes it increasingly difficult to land the entire shot.

Choose a Scattergun when close-range pressure is part of your combat plan. Choose a Cannon when accuracy and concentrated damage over longer engagement distances are more important.

Scattergun vs Repeater

Repeaters rely on a high rate of fire and continuous hits. Scatterguns instead deliver several projectiles in each firing event across a wider area.

Repeaters are generally easier to use while tracking a target through a longer firing window. Scatterguns reward pilots who can close the distance and keep the target inside the weapon's effective spread.

Building a Mixed Scattergun Loadout

A ship does not necessarily need to use only one Scattergun type. If compatible hardpoints are available, ballistic and energy weapons can be combined, although different projectile behavior and resource requirements should be considered.

For the most consistent aiming experience, symmetrical hardpoints are usually easier to manage when equipped with identical weapon models.

How Ship Scattergun Delivery Works

Select the exact Scattergun model and quantity required for your ship. If you are unsure which weapon fits your hardpoints, provide your ship model so compatibility can be checked before delivery.

Our team coordinates an available server and meeting location and transfers the selected ship weapons through an appropriate in-game handoff method.

You remain on your own Star Citizen account throughout standard delivery. Your RSI password is not required.

For other ship guns and combat components, browse our Star Citizen Weapons catalog.
