Choose Your WoW Forever Raid Boost

WoW Forever's opening raid tier contains three raids with very different group sizes and encounter counts. Choose the raid that matches your progression goal rather than treating all three as the same service.

All three raids are designed for level 60 characters. Their fixed raid sizes are part of the encounter design: Barrow Deeps uses 10 players, Hyjal Summit uses 20, and Onyxia's Lair uses 40.

The Barrow Deeps Raid Boost – 8 Bosses

The Barrow Deeps is WoW Forever's new 10-player level 60 raid. Hidden beneath Kalimdor, the prison once held Illidan Stormrage and other threats considered too dangerous to leave uncontained.

Blizzard has now officially confirmed eight bosses inside the raid. A complete 8/8 clear also fulfills the Barrow Deeps raid Legacy Challenge if your account has not already completed it.

Its smaller fixed roster makes Barrow Deeps the most compact of the three opening raids, but it still provides a complete raid progression path with new endgame gear and Tier Set opportunities.

Choose the Barrow Deeps Raid Boost when you need the complete 8/8 clear rather than a single-boss raid.

Hyjal Summit Raid Boost – 13 Bosses

Hyjal Summit is the new 20-player raid at the summit of Mount Hyjal near Nordrassil. Unlike the smaller Barrow Deeps, Hyjal contains 13 bosses spread across several paths around and beneath the mountain.

Because a Legacy completion requires all 13 encounters, a partial run does not satisfy the complete Hyjal raid challenge.

Use the Hyjal Summit Raid Boost when your goal is the full 13/13 progression and the raid's complete set of eligible loot opportunities.

Onyxia's Lair Raid Boost – 40 Players, 1 Boss

Onyxia's Lair returns as a level 60, 40-player raid in Dustwallow Marsh. Unlike Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit, the raid is centered on a single encounter: Onyxia.

Current Forever game data also contains familiar Onyxia rewards, including class Tier head pieces and other iconic raid items. Individual drops remain subject to their normal loot rules and should not be treated as guaranteed merely because the raid is completed.

Choose the Onyxia's Lair Raid Boost when your primary goal is the Onyxia kill, Legacy completion, and eligible raid loot opportunities.

Onyxia Attunement Is Required

Onyxia's Lair is the important exception when preparing for the opening raids. Blizzard has officially confirmed that characters must complete the Onyxia access chain and have the Drakefire Amulet in their inventory to enter the raid.

The amulet does not need to be equipped, but it must be present in your bags when entering Onyxia's Lair.

WoW Forever Raid Loot and Tier Sets

The opening raids are part of WoW Forever's new level 60 endgame itemization. Blizzard has confirmed new Tier Sets as part of the opening raid progression and has also teased a new legendary reward connected to the new raid content.

Raid loot should be treated differently from a guaranteed service result. A raid clear guarantees the purchased completion objective; it does not force a particular weapon, Tier piece, trinket, or rare item to appear.

If a product offers a loot-priority configuration, that priority applies only to eligible items that:

• actually drop during the run;
• match the selected conditions;
• can be assigned under the live raid loot rules.

A loot priority increases your access to eligible drops after they appear. It does not change the underlying drop table or guarantee a specific random item.

Epic Raid Loot and Transmog

WoW Forever also handles epic raid appearances differently from lower-quality dungeon drops. When an Epic raid item is acquired, its appearance is granted to the player the item binds to rather than automatically to every eligible raid member.

This keeps actual raid loot ownership important for high-end appearances and makes organized loot decisions relevant for players targeting both power and transmog.

Earn 3 Legacy Points from the Opening Raids

The three opening raids together provide 3 account-wide Legacy Points through three separate raid challenges.

Legacy Points are account-wide for supported non-Hardcore characters. A challenge that has already been completed on the account does not award an additional point when repeated.

Raid Release and Weekly Resets

Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit, and Onyxia's Lair unlock on December 9, 2026. All three are currently planned to follow a weekly raid reset.

This makes weekly repeat runs useful for players who still need raid gear, Tier progression, specific loot opportunities, or additional clears after their first Legacy completion.

The available completion method depends on the selected raid product.

Which WoW Forever Raid Should You Choose?

Choose Barrow Deeps if you want the new 10-player 8/8 raid, Hyjal Summit for the larger 20-player 13/13 progression, or Onyxia's Lair for the single 40-player boss encounter.

If you plan to complete all three Legacy raid challenges, you will need all 8 Barrow Deeps bosses, all 13 Hyjal Summit bosses, and Onyxia — 22 raid encounters in total.

Before ordering Onyxia, make sure your character already has the Drakefire Amulet or complete the separate attunement service first.
