AION 2 Global vs Korea and Taiwan is not a comparison between two clients at the same stage of development. KR/TW launched in November 2025 and subsequently received new seasons, economy changes and Chapter 1 content. Global begins Advanced Access on September 30, 2026, followed by free-to-play release on October 5, with its own published platform, server, trading and PvP rules. NC has announced several Global adjustments, but the September 17-18 Launch Scale Test was capped at level 37 and cannot establish every final equipment value, progression limit or launch dungeon. This guide separates official Global decisions, changes that KR/TW already adopted, and regional systems that have not been promised for Global day one.
Short answer: The clearest confirmed Global differences concern PC-only launch, regional server rollout, Early Access market separation, disabled direct player trading, Membership benefits and specific PvP settings. Five-player Expeditions and ten-player Sanctuary groups are also advertised for Global, but they are not exclusive changes compared with the current KR/TW Chapter 1 build.
| Topic | Global announcement | KR/TW comparison or important limit | Primary source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Release | Advanced Access September 30-October 4; free-to-play October 5, 2026. | KR/TW began service on November 19, 2025; they are established regional services. | NC: September 18 launch notice |
| Platform | Initial Global release on PC via Steam and PURPLE. | NC launched the Korean and Taiwanese services on PC and mobile; this is not a Global mobile launch. | NC: Global FAQ / NC: KR/TW launch |
| Controller support | Playable with a controller; full controller support was still being evaluated. | Do not copy a regional control-support claim into the Global PC specification. | NC: Global FAQ |
| Launch languages | NC's September FAQ lists English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Japanese and Korean. | The announced interface-language list does not establish identical voice-over coverage for every language. KR/TW localization is separate. | NC: Global FAQ |
| Geographical deployment | North America, South America, Europe and Japan are listed by NC; the Global developer presentation splits North America into West and East clusters. | These are Global infrastructure choices, not shared KR/TW worlds. | NC: Beyond the Abyss preview |
| Early Access worlds | Founder-access worlds open first; additional Launch worlds open at free-to-play release. | A separate launch policy, not the historical KR/TW release timetable. | NC: Early Access server policy |
| Dungeon matching | Region-wide EA-world matching first; EA and Launch worlds join the regional matching pool after launch. | Do not confuse cross-world party matching with a shared character or a shared auction house. | NC: Early Access policy |
| Abyss server matching | EA worlds match with EA worlds during the head start; later matchmaking accounts for server progress and strength. | Dungeon matching and Abyss matching follow different policies. | NC: Early Access policy |
| Direct trading | Direct player-to-player trades are disabled for Global as an anti-bot measure. | Older Global pack descriptions mentioning Personal Trading are superseded by the September 18 decision. | NC: post-test trading notice |
| Server Market | Designed to operate from the start of Early Access, subject to the account's access entitlement. | Local server trading is distinct from the later cross-server market. | NC: market rollout |
| Cross-Server Market | Not available during EA or on October 5; planned for a later point when regional worlds reach comparable progress. | Do not apply the later market's broader liquidity to launch-day income forecasts. | NC: market rollout |
| Membership and trading access | Special Quai Membership includes Market and Quna Exchange Shop access and extra convenience benefits. | KR also consolidated its earlier three memberships into one Special Quai tier in June: one tier alone is not Global-exclusive. | NC: Global Membership notice |

| Launch Scale Test | September 17-18 test capped characters at level 37; Market, shop and payment features disabled; all test progress wiped. | Those test restrictions are not final Global level, economy or progression rules. | NC: September test notices |
How to read this matrix: An announced Global feature can be confirmed without being exclusive to Global. Each source links to NC's own notice, Global presentation, regional press release or official Steam news. Comparison against the latest live KR/TW rules matters more than comparing Global with the November 2025 KR launch client alone.
Global Release Dates Platforms and Localization
The calendar is settled: Founder's Pack Advanced Access runs from September 30 through October 4 and the base game opens free-to-play on October 5. The official Global release is for PC through Steam and PURPLE. A Korean or Taiwanese mobile build is not an announced October Global mobile client, and controller playability should not be advertised as finalized full controller support.
NC's September 16 Global FAQ lists eight launch languages: English, French, German, Spanish for Spain, Portuguese for Brazil, Russian, Japanese and Korean. This establishes the announced client localization, not full voice-over availability in all eight languages. The same notice lists broad server locations as North America, South America, Europe and Japan. The August Global developer presentation gave a more granular deployment view by separating North America into West and East, alongside South America, Central Europe and Japan. It also described the ability to select another Global region without forced geographic locking; that does not mean cross-region matchmaking or a shared KR/TW account. Four broad geographic labels and five deployment clusters are different ways of describing the announcement; neither is a complete published world-name list.
The Korean and Taiwanese services began on November 19, 2025 on PC and mobile, and received subsequent regional updates. Existing KR/TW account, platform and language information cannot automatically replace the latest Global FAQ. Players preparing the installation and launch windows can also use the AION 2 Global release guide.
Early Access Servers and the Separate Global Economy

NC designed Global's five-day head start around two waves of world servers, not a permanent wall between paying and free players. Early Access worlds open first for Founders. Launch worlds follow on October 5, and free-to-play players can also join an existing EA world if it remains open and has capacity. Starting five days later does not automatically require abandoning friends who started early.
Cross-Server Parties and Abyss Matchmaking
Dungeon party matching spans the Early Access worlds within one geographical region from the beginning. When Launch worlds open, the regional dungeon pool includes both types. This is not character transfer, a cross-region party guarantee or a merged server economy. Abyss pairing has a separate rule: during the head start, EA worlds fight EA worlds; later NC intends to account for the progression and strength of participating servers when pairing them. Read NC's Early Access policy rather than assuming the dungeon queue and Abyss use identical matching.
Server Market vs Cross-Server Market
The Server Market is the initial local trading venue. The separate Cross-Server Market has a delayed release because the publisher wants participating worlds to reach a more comparable progression stage. It is not scheduled to open automatically at the end of the five-day head start. Both the player's eligibility to trade and whether an item can be listed remain distinct questions from the geographical reach of a Market. July's business-model announcement describes Global's Kina, Quna and Membership structure.
NC also expressed an intention to provide server transfers after studying post-launch occupancy. It has not supplied a release date, full eligibility rules or a guaranteed free-transfer window in that policy. Do not choose an inaccessible launch world on the assumption that immediate transfers will solve the problem.
Direct Trading Membership and Founder's Pack Changes
The most consequential post-test policy change is explicit. On September 18, NC disabled direct player-to-player trading for Global as an anti-bot measure, while keeping the Market as the central way to trade between players. August's original Membership and Founder's Pack descriptions still mention Personal Trading; those older lines conflict with the later official decision and should not be used as evidence that direct transfers will work on September 30.
Important correction: Market access is not the same thing as direct player trading. The Quna Exchange Shop is also an official exchange interface, not permission to hand currency or items directly to another character. Apply the September 18 notice when comparing old pre-release marketing with the current Global policy.
The base Global game is free to download and play when it opens on October 5, but its trading and convenience entitlements require attention. NC lists Market and Quna Exchange Shop access, Remote Storage, Wind Breeze Merchants, increased Odyle Energy capacity and extra Cube selection among Special Quai benefits. All three Founder tiers now include 30 days of that Membership, including packs bought before the revision. The more detailed pack contents and current payment conditions are separate purchasing questions; the confirmed comparison here is the policy itself.
Calling a single Membership tier a uniquely Western invention would be inaccurate. NC confirmed that the Korean service consolidated its earlier three-tier system into Special Quai Membership in June. Similarly, Korea introduced a distinction between regular Kina and Kina (Bound) in March, with gameplay source categories spelled out in its official economy update. That is useful context, not a verified Global retail exchange rate, bound-currency spending order or exact drop income.
Member Priority Queue Is Not an Instant Login Guarantee
Membership also matters when a Global world is full. Under NC's September 18 revision, accounts in good standing enter a priority queue rather than the general queue, and both move as places become available. NC explicitly describes priority as a privilege, not guaranteed entry; disciplinary or suspected Terms-of-Service violations can remove it. Do not use a Membership advertisement to promise zero waiting time.

View All Aion 2 ServicesGlobal PvP: Battleground Normalization and the Abyss
NC's August 7 Global presentation described a 10v10 Battleground format with normalized stats. This should be interpreted narrowly: that particular mode is designed to reduce the effect of equipment differences. It does not automatically mean that open-world Abyss encounters, all arenas or every PvP reward calculation use the same normalization rule.
The presentation also described an optional PvP flag outside the Abyss, with faction fighting remaining active inside the Abyss. Combined with the separate EA-world Abyss matching, this gives Global players two distinct questions to check before entering PvP: whether an area supports voluntary flagging, and which world or server group the current competitive mode uses. KR/TW PvP content has itself changed across seasons, including the March Chaotic Abyss update and July Battlefield: Siege, so old regional zone guides should not be treated as the Global launch rulebook.
NC's July Chapter 1 publication describes KR's Chaotic Upper Reshanta with item-level and Combat Power caps and the separate Battlefield: Siege mode. These are facts about that regional chapter, not proof of their presence at the initial Global opening.
Classes Dungeons and Group Sizes: What Actually Changed?
The Global preview retains the franchise's original eight announced class identities: Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, Cleric and Chanter. The publishing material describes Expedition content for five players and ten-player grouped Sanctuary content. Exploration and Conquest are presented as separate Expedition approaches, so a five-player listing should not be reinterpreted as guaranteed solo farming.
| Feature | Global announcement | Live KR/TW comparison | Official evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Expedition and Transcendence groups | Five-player party design. | KR expanded these groups to five in July 2026. | NC: Chapter 1 |
| Sanctuary content | Ten-player grouped content. | KR expanded Sanctuary to ten in the same update. | NC: Chapter 1 |
| Brawler | Not part of the Global original-eight presentation. | Added later in KR Chapter 1 as the ninth class. | NC: Brawler announcement |
| Maximum level | Global's September public test was artificially limited to 37; it did not establish the retail maximum. | KR Chapter 1 raised its own live cap to 50. | NC: test limits / NC: KR cap |
| Regional Chapter 1 progression | No full one-to-one day-one KR Chapter 1 inheritance has been published. | KR added Stigma 25, Eltnen, Morheim, Pendant gear and additional dungeons. | NC: Chapter 1 |
Group-size claims need a date attached. A guide written against the November 2025 KR launch may contrast four-player dungeons and eight-player raids with Global's five and ten. A guide comparing Global with the current KR/TW service cannot present those same numbers as an exclusive Global improvement, because NC also changed the regional group limits in Chapter 1.
Dungeon Bosses: Skills, Mechanics and Loot Differences
Several familiar AION 2 dungeon bosses have records in both regional data and the Global test client. Ultimate Berk, Divine Auldor, Kromede's Desire and Transcendent Bakarma provide useful examples of how boss encounters and reward pools should be compared. The following list summarizes documented encounter patterns and representative rewards. These are not guarantees that every difficulty, Hard Mode mechanic or KR/TW reward will be available when Global Advanced Access begins. Item availability and individual drop conditions must be checked against the final Global client.
- Ultimate Berk — Krao Cave. The final encounter emphasizes positioning, stagger timing and environmental mechanics.
- Main skills and attacks: Consecutive forward lunges punish players who return to the boss's path after dodging the first charge. A powerful spinning attack threatens nearby melee players. Berk also moves toward the center for a rock-cover mechanic and introduces totems that require attention.
- Dangerous mechanic: Players must identify the safe cover and move behind it before the arena-wide attack resolves. The stagger phase requires the party to use appropriate control skills before the cast completes. On KR/TW Hard Mode, the available safe cover is more restrictive.
- How to counter: Avoid both charges, create distance during the spin, reserve stagger abilities and assign party members to deal with the totems.
- Representative loot: Krao Cave's recorded reward pools contain Division weapons and armor, progression materials, and the Berk accessory family, including Berk Ring, Necklace and Earrings in regional acquisition data. Exact item access varies by difficulty and client version.
- Divine Auldor — Urugugu Canyon. This encounter focuses on airborne control effects, moving hazards and shared-damage mechanics.
- Main skills and attacks: Auldor fires fan-shaped projectiles that can launch a character into the air, followed by a grab and slam sequence. Other patterns include lunges, rectangular attacks, tornado projectiles and circular area damage.
- Dangerous mechanic: During the tornado phase, a selected player receives a shared-damage marker. Taking the impact alone can be fatal. A later phase also restricts movement with a persistent storm around the edge of the arena.
- How to counter: Avoid the opening projectile lines, stay clear of tornado paths and coordinate the party around the shared-damage marker. Do not scatter when the group needs to absorb a hit together.
- Representative loot: Divine Canyon weapons and armor, Aulamus accessories in the appropriate regional reward pools, Divine Auldor Mask cosmetic, and progression materials such as Enhance Stones and Amplify Stone Fragments. Some Aulamus equipment belongs to higher-difficulty regional reward tables rather than the basic Global test pool.
- Kromede's Desire — Fire Temple. Kromede combines direct attacks with arena-control phases that limit movement and punish poor positioning.
- Main skills and attacks: Weapon sweeps, frontal attacks, targeted line shots, falling projectiles, lunges and clone-assisted attacks. The fire-wall phase forces players to navigate moving barriers instead of continuing their normal damage rotation.
- Dangerous mechanic: At major health thresholds, Kromede becomes temporarily untargetable while successive walls cross the arena. Players must move through the correct openings. On KR/TW Hard Mode, the later phase also includes Blazing Judgment, a timed movement check toward a designated safe area.
- How to counter: Keep the camera positioned to see incoming walls, avoid overlapping targeted attacks and prioritize survival over damage during the maze. Watch clone positions before committing to a dodge.
- Representative loot: Fire Temple's recorded rewards include Corrupted Judicator equipment, Kromede-themed weapons and accessories, and progression materials. Enraged Kromede equipment and selected cosmetic rewards appear in the relevant regional and difficulty-specific loot pools. A listed item is not necessarily guaranteed on every clear.
- Transcendent Bakarma — Draupnir. Bakarma is the dungeon's final boss and places particular emphasis on movement coordination and stagger execution.
- Main skills and attacks: Heavy area attacks, dangerous red ground zones, rapid follow-up damage and a special phase involving ring-shaped hazards and a required stagger response.
- Dangerous mechanic: In the documented KR/TW Hard Mode encounter, the group must correctly execute the teleport-and-ring sequence before completing the stagger requirement. Failed positioning or delayed control skills can cause a party wipe.
- How to counter: Leave persistent ground hazards immediately, reserve defensive abilities for difficult-to-read damage, coordinate movement during the ring sequence and save stagger skills for the mandatory check.
- Representative loot: Draupnir reward pools include Anguish weapons and armor, the Bakarma armor family, Bakarma Guard and progression materials such as Soul Codex, Silentium and Enhance Stones. Higher-difficulty regional rewards and their exact acquisition rules must not be assumed for Global launch.
Boss loot clarification: AION 2 distinguishes direct boss drops from rewards obtained through the dungeon's Odyle Energy Cube. An item shown on an instance loot page is not automatically a guaranteed personal drop from the boss itself. The examples above describe obtainable reward families, not confirmed Global drop percentages. Boss attack names are descriptive where no verified official Global-localized skill name is available.
Pets Character Slots and Founder's Cosmetics
The Global developer presentation also covered four starting character slots, expanded customization, companion auto-loot and a shorter pet-upgrade ladder, described as a reduction from five levels to three. These are announced Global launch-oriented adjustments; they are not permission to copy individual pet stat packages, pet XP requirements or older KR farming guides. The September Global test comparisons suggest that pet bonuses may differ more broadly, but the final stat table requires retail verification.
NC's Founder's Pack offer separates the Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate bundles. Standard includes the five-day head start, starter supplies, a title and 30 days of Membership; higher tiers add specific skins, a pet and wings. The Global presentation described Founder cosmetic exclusivity. Do not confuse a cosmetic wing skin with the stats on an equippable gameplay wing or assume a Korean shop listing means the same Founder appearance will be sold separately for Global.
NC's own Global pack showcase gives the item names, while the August 20 Steam announcement confirms the added Membership across tiers. Neither source justifies inventing a numeric damage advantage from a shop skin.
Why Current KR/TW Progression Guides Cannot Be Copied Into Global
KR/TW's present game state is the product of several additional regional updates, not merely a localized version of the new Global client. NC's July Chapter 1 increased the Korean level cap to 50 and Stigma enhancement ceiling to 25, introduced Brawler, added Eltnen and Morheim, and opened new Expedition and Transcendence dungeons. It also reworked reward claims around Odyle Energy and changed some solo-mode rewards.
There is a second distinction between officially announced and observed during testing. Independent September side-by-side inspections of the Global LST found changes to equipment stat allocation, enhancement limits, crafting availability, Daevanion boards, Genus Insight, title bonuses and pet effects relative to a later TW client. NC has not published a final retail patch note confirming every reported number. The LST also deliberately disabled parts of the economy and stopped before higher-level content, and Steam players must install the separate retail app for Advanced Access. Those observations can guide questions to re-check, not headline promises about the September 30 build.
Values not established by the official Global notices used here: final retail character level cap, item-level entrance gates, enhancement ceilings, exact crafting recipes, individual pet stat rolls, Arcana slot count, Stigma maximum, dungeon drop percentages, Kina-per-hour figures, the launch-day Cross-Server Market date and the timetable for server transfers. A number from a current KR/TW database or the wiped level-37 Global test is not automatically a confirmed Global retail value.
What KR/TW Veterans Should Change Before Starting Global
Use the confirmed policies to revise the plan you would normally take from Korea or Taiwan. The differences most likely to affect a first-week routine concern the platform and account, selected world, Market access, group composition and the exact progression content available in the Global client.
- Pick the correct service and installation. Use the Global PC client through Steam or PURPLE; the expired Steam Playtest app is a separate install and its progress was wiped.
- Coordinate the server wave with friends. A Founder's early start does not permanently prevent later free players joining that EA world if it remains open, while regional dungeon matching offers an additional grouping route.
- Budget for the actual trading entitlement. Do not base a gearing strategy on direct item handoffs: Global direct player-to-player trading is disabled, and Market usage has separate Membership conditions.
- Do not price materials against a launch-wide market. The initial Server Market and later Cross-Server Market have different availability and buyer pools.
- Build a five-player dungeon plan. Compare today's KR group composition if you need a reference, not the original four-player launch configuration.
- Read PvP mode rules separately. Normalized 10v10 Battlegrounds, the Abyss PvP environment and server-strength matchmaking address different problems.
- Check every endgame tooltip in Global. Unlock conditions, Arcana pieces, Stigma levels and later KR/TW catch-up features must be verified against the actual available Global chapter.
- Recheck boss rewards before choosing a farming target. Use Global's available dungeon difficulties and reward preview rather than importing KR/TW Hard Mode loot expectations.
AION 2 Global vs KR/TW FAQ
These questions cover service continuity and future update timing, rather than repeating individual rows of the comparison table.
Can I transfer my Korean or Taiwanese character and purchases to Global?
NC has not announced a KR/TW-to-Global character, inventory or purchase migration in the cited launch policies. Treat Global as a separate service and do not buy a regional item on the assumption that it will appear in the new client. The announced Global server-transfer intention concerns future server management, not a stated transfer path from KR/TW.
Will Global receive every KR/TW patch on the same date?
NC has not committed to a synchronized patch calendar or an identical day-one content snapshot. The regional July Chapter 1 announcement demonstrates how much later content exists, but it is not a Global content roadmap. Use the Global notice board for its own patch dates and inspect each new feature as it is announced.
Does selecting another Global region connect me to the Korean or Taiwanese service?
No such cross-service connection is established by NC's Global regional deployment announcement. Choosing among available Global regions is a different matter from migrating a KR/TW account or joining its established characters and economy.
Conclusion
The confirmed Global differences are primarily launch-service rules: dates, PC distribution, localization, server waves, Market rollout, Membership, direct-trade restrictions and selected PvP options. Five-player dungeons and ten-player Sanctuary content are genuine Global announcements but already exist in current KR/TW Chapter 1. Dungeon bosses and their reward families provide useful regional reference points, but exact difficulty availability, encounter variants and loot must be checked in the Global client. Use regional guides to understand how systems work, not as a substitute for Global's own final costs, equipment values, release content or server policies.
