AION 2 Patch Notes (Global) — Tracker

AION 2 Patch Notes (Global) — Tracker

AION 2 patch notes describe changes to the Global game, including balance adjustments, bug fixes, content updates, and system changes. Launch policies and client-preparation instructions provide additional context, but they are not a complete gameplay changelog. Global Advanced Access is scheduled to begin on September 30, 2026 at 13:00 UTC for Founder's Pack owners, followed by the free-to-play opening on October 5 at 13:00 UTC.

As of September 30, the official Global Steam news feed reviewed for this guide does not contain a complete release-client balance changelog. The September 18 post-test announcement confirms trading and queue policies, while September 28 notices cover server access and preload preparation. Updates from the Korean and Taiwanese services are tracked separately and do not establish which changes are active in Global.

Short answer: The reviewed Global Steam feed does not yet provide a complete release balance changelog. Confirmed launch policies include disabled direct player trading and conditional priority queues; test hotfixes, progression wipes, and client-installation instructions require their own context.

Latest AION 2 Global Patch Notes

The September 18 announcement, “Launch Scale Test Comes to a Close: What's Next?”, establishes the post-test trading and queue policies. It also explains how test participants should prepare their clients. The table separates these policies from installation instructions and the historical test wipe.

Global policies and launch-preparation notices
AreaOfficial announcementWhat it means
Player tradingNC disabled direct player-to-player trading as an anti-bot measure in its September 18 announcement.The Market remains the central player-trading venue; access still depends on the applicable account and item rules.
Login queuesAt capacity, servers use general and priority queues. The notice assigns eligible members to the priority queue.Both queues progress when places become available. Priority is conditional and does not guarantee immediate entry.
Steam clientLaunch Scale Test participants must uninstall the separate Playtest App and download AION 2 for Advanced Access.This is a client-transition instruction, not a gameplay balance change or a requirement to reinstall after every patch.
PURPLE clientNC's post-test instructions require no equivalent Playtest App removal for PURPLE participants.Install any required launcher or game updates; the notice does not exempt PURPLE users from future downloads.
Test progressionNC specified a progression wipe at the end of the second Launch Scale Test session.Test progress does not transfer to Advanced Access or launch. This does not imply recurring wipes in the release service.

The September 28 preload notice adds a technical requirement: downloaded files are encrypted and must be decrypted before play, with the duration depending on the PC. NC explicitly distinguishes this from reinstallation. These notices do not supply a full list of launch skill coefficients, item values, dungeon adjustments, or bug fixes.

Why Was Direct Player Trading Disabled?

NC identifies bot prevention as the reason for disabling direct player-to-player trading. Its September 18 announcement retains the Market as the central trading venue.

Earlier pre-release Membership descriptions included Personal Trading. Those older descriptions should not be used to override the later announcement disabling direct trades. Likewise, trading instructions from another region or a test build do not establish the Global rule.

The policy does not remove the Market. It also does not mean that every account can list every item: Market access, item tradability, and any other restrictions must be checked under the current Global rules.

For broader differences between the regional versions, see the AION 2 Global vs KR/TW Guide.

What Changed With AION 2 Login Queues?

The September 18 notice describes two queues for full servers. It assigns “members in good standing” to the priority queue instead of the general queue, and states that both progress as capacity becomes available.

Priority access is conditional. Disciplinary action or suspected Terms of Service violations can result in its removal. The notice provides no guaranteed waiting time or fixed admission ratio between the queues, so priority should not be advertised as an unconditional queue skip.

This is an announced access policy rather than a class-balance adjustment. Its publication date belongs in the service history, but the announcement alone does not provide a numbered release patch or a complete deployment log.

Did Launch Scale Test Changes Carry Into Global?

The Launch Scale Test used a temporary pre-release environment, and its player progression did not carry into the release service. A separate “AION 2 Hot Fix Update” announced during the test addressed quest-object interaction distance, appearance-change ticket use below level 10, a chat/macro reporting error, and client crashes. That notice belongs to the test history and does not independently confirm the final release implementation.

The test also disabled purchases, the Marketplace, the Quna Exchange, and direct player trading. The temporary shutdown of those systems cannot be applied wholesale to release. Direct trading has a separate post-test policy; the other test restrictions require their own Global context.

The distinction is:

  • Announced after the test: Direct player trading is disabled, and NC has published a revised queue policy for the Global launch.
  • Test-only operating conditions: Purchases and payment systems were unavailable during the Launch Scale Test. This does not establish a permanent release restriction.
  • Not established by the test alone: Final progression values, endgame balance, dungeon tuning, equipment limits, or the complete launch bug-fix list.

Are Korean and Taiwanese Patch Notes the Same as Global?

No. The Korean and Taiwanese services launched in November 2025 and have their own update history. NC has subsequently announced regional content and system updates, including Chapter 1. A change appearing in those services does not establish that it is available in Global.

Check the Global version separately for:

  • class skill values and specialization limits;
  • level caps and progression caps;
  • Stigma upgrade limits;
  • Daevanion boards;
  • dungeon entry requirements and loot;
  • Arcana progression;
  • pets and collection bonuses;
  • economy and Market rules;
  • additional classes and Chapter content.

Regional patch notes can explain how those versions have developed. Label them by region and date, and do not present their content as an announced Global roadmap unless NC has made that connection explicitly.

What Is the Difference Between a Patch, Hotfix, and Maintenance?

These terms describe different aspects of an update. A download, server interruption, or known-issue announcement does not by itself establish that gameplay balance has changed.

AION 2 update terminology
Update typeWhat to expect
PatchA game update that may change the client, server, or both. Its contents can include balance, systems, content, or fixes; the term alone does not indicate its size.
HotfixA targeted correction generally released outside the normal update cycle. It may require a client download, server work, or downtime; check the specific instructions.
MaintenanceScheduled or emergency work affecting availability. It may deploy changes, but downtime alone does not establish a gameplay update.
Known issue noticeAn acknowledgement of a problem. Check whether the notice describes an investigation, a workaround, a planned correction, or a completed fix.

Keep publication and deployment separate. A future change can be recorded as announced, while an applied change should have confirmation that it was implemented for Global. A planned fix is not a completed fix, and a maintenance end time is not proof that every listed issue was resolved.

Where to Find Official AION 2 Global Patch Notes

Start with NC's AION 2 Global announcement board and the official Steam news feed for the release game. Community summaries and translated regional notes are useful leads, but their titles or language do not establish that an update applies to Global.

The release game uses Steam App ID 3393110, while the separate Launch Scale Test application uses App ID 4972320. This distinction matters when checking older notices: the test had its own announcements. Steam and PURPLE downloads show that local files are changing, but download size alone cannot reveal the gameplay impact.

Check three details before applying an update to a guide:

  1. Region and environment: Confirm whether the notice concerns Global release, Global testing, Korea, or Taiwan.
  2. Deployment state: Separate publication date from implementation time, and distinguish an applied change from an announcement, investigation, or planned fix.
  3. Version context: Check any build identifier and later corrections. Do not carry test values or regional numbers into release guides without Global verification.

What This Global Patch Notes Tracker Covers

This tracker focuses on changes that affect how Global players play, progress, trade, or access the game. Entries need a dated official source, a clear description of the impact, and an indication of whether the change is announced or implemented.

Relevant update categories include:

  • class balance adjustments;
  • skill or Stigma changes;
  • dungeon and raid tuning where those activities are confirmed for Global;
  • equipment and progression changes;
  • economy and Market adjustments;
  • PvP rule changes;
  • major bug fixes;
  • new content and systems;
  • important hotfixes that affect gameplay or access.

These categories define the tracker’s scope, not a promised content roadmap. Promotional announcements do not belong in the patch history unless they also establish a relevant game or service change.

AION 2 Patch Notes FAQ

These answers explain how to interpret build labels and normal client updates.

Does a matching version number prove that Global and Korea have identical balance?
No. A build label alone does not establish identical content, settings, or service rules. Use Global-specific documentation for the values relevant to your guide.

Do I need to reinstall AION 2 after every patch?
There is no general requirement to reinstall for normal updates. Follow the launcher and NC's instructions for the specific update. The Steam Playtest removal instruction concerns the transition from the test application, and normal preload decryption is not a reinstallation.

Conclusion

AION 2 Global's update history should distinguish release changes, launch policies, client preparation, and test hotfixes. The verified post-test announcements establish trading and queue policies, but do not replace a complete release balance changelog. Apply numerical changes to Global guides only with the correct regional and deployment context.
