Wrathful Mind, Wrathful Will and Wrathful Ego are three Unique crafting materials that can turn AION 2's Dragon Lord gear upgrades into a serious farming project. The October 21, 2026 update made all three obtainable in Hard Krao Cave and Hard Draupnir, which sounds like a perfect one-stop solution. There is a catch: the older Conquest dungeons still have better listed chances for particular materials. If you only need Wrathful Ego, spending all your reward opportunities in Hard Krao Cave may be a poor trade. If you're also working on Ariel progression, the same Hard run becomes much more attractive. This guide separates those situations, covers the current drop locations and reward-cube chances, and shows exactly where these materials fit into Draconic gear crafting.
Short answer: Farm Wrathful Mind in regular Krao Cave or Draupnir Conquest, Wrathful Will in Urugugu Canyon or Vakron Sky Island Conquest, and Wrathful Ego in Fire Temple or Ferocious Horn Den Conquest. Hard Krao Cave and Hard Draupnir can drop all three, making them useful when you also need Ariel Fragments and other Hard-mode rewards. The materials are not guaranteed drops. For crafting, the Wise Dragon Lord Longsword alone requires 3 Mind, 3 Will and 20 Ego, so your ideal farming route depends on the recipe you're building toward.
What Are Wrathful Mind, Will and Ego in AION 2?
All three items are Unique-grade crafting materials associated with Balaur and used in Draconic equipment recipes. Their item records list level 40 as the usage requirement, and the ordinary dropped versions are tradable. They are not enhancement stones, Daevanion currencies or items you equip directly. Their value comes from the gear they help create, particularly Dragon Lord crafting and Transfer Crafting chains.
The important change arrived with the official October 21 Global update. Before that addition, players generally followed a material-specific Conquest route. The new Hard versions of Krao Cave and Draupnir expanded access by putting Mind, Will and Ego into both dungeons' possible rewards. This is an additional source, not the removal of their older farming locations.
| Material | Item grade | Primary existing Conquest sources | Main purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wrathful Mind | Unique | Krao Cave; Draupnir | Dragon Lord equipment and upgrades |
| Wrathful Will | Unique | Urugugu Canyon; Vakron Sky Island | Dragon Lord equipment and upgrades |
| Wrathful Ego | Unique | Fire Temple; Ferocious Horn Den | Higher-tier Dragon Lord equipment and upgrades |
Don't confuse the item's level 40 requirement with the entry requirement for the dungeon you want to farm. Most serious material farming happens at level 45, and Hard Expeditions demand considerably stronger equipment than their regular Conquest counterparts. Getting the item is one part of the job; reaching the correct dungeon tier and having the necessary crafting recipe are separate problems.
Best Wrathful Mind, Will and Ego Farming Locations
The current Global client has several relevant Conquest reward tables. They make a useful distinction between farming one specific material and collecting any of the three. The listed percentages below come from extracted reward-cube tables in the October 24, 2026 Global client snapshot. They describe chances for a particular reward-cube roll, not a measured probability that one dungeon clear will give you the item.
| Dungeon | Mode | Target material | Listed chance per roll |
|---|---|---|---|
| Krao Cave | Conquest | Wrathful Mind | 3.6% |
| Draupnir | Conquest | Wrathful Mind | 3.6% |
| Urugugu Canyon | Conquest | Wrathful Will | 3% |
| Vakron Sky Island | Conquest | Wrathful Will | 3% |
| Fire Temple | Conquest | Wrathful Ego | 2.4% |
| Ferocious Horn Den | Conquest | Wrathful Ego | 2.4% |
| Krao Cave | Conquest (Hard) | Mind / Will / Ego | 2.4% / 0.6% / 0.6% |
| Draupnir | Conquest (Hard) | Mind / Will / Ego | 2.4% / 0.6% / 0.6% |
The numbers explain why the new Hard modes shouldn't automatically replace your old farming route. Regular Krao Cave and Draupnir have a higher listed final-boss chance for Mind than their Hard counterparts. For Will, Urugugu Canyon and Vakron Sky Island are much stronger individual targets. For Ego, Fire Temple and Ferocious Horn Den have the more favorable listed entries. A Hard run can still produce any of the three materials, but having a wider loot pool does not mean each material becomes more common.
These aren't the only relevant reward entries. Some side bosses also have material chances: regular Krao Cave and Draupnir list Mind at 1.2% for certain additional encounters; Urugugu Canyon and Vakron Sky Island list Will at 1%; and Fire Temple and Ferocious Horn Den list Ego at 0.8%. That gives thorough clears additional reward opportunities where eligible, although those smaller entries should never be confused with guaranteed drops. For the item-specific tables, see Wrathful Mind, Wrathful Will and Wrathful Ego.
Drop-rate warning: A 3.6% reward-cube entry is not the same as saying that exactly 3.6% of completed runs will award the material. The outcome depends on which eligible rewards you claim and how the current reward system handles those rolls. Treat the figures as a way to compare sources, not a promise about how many clears you need.
Hard Krao Cave and Draupnir: Requirements and New Rewards
Hard Krao Cave and Hard Draupnir were added to the Global version on October 21. According to the official patch notes published on Steam, the entry requirement is 2,600 Item Level. Bosses have a four-minute Frenzy timer, and each player is limited to three revives. Those restrictions make successful, consistent clears more important than simply meeting the number on the entry screen.
If you're sitting just below the threshold, work on item-level progression before building a farming schedule around Hard rewards. Entering at the minimum with an underdeveloped setup can turn a theoretical upgrade in loot quality into a string of failed runs. For this particular activity, a stable group that clears reliably is worth more than a rushed group chasing one lucky drop.
| Feature | Hard Krao Cave and Hard Draupnir | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Entry requirement | 2,600 Item Level | You need an endgame-ready character before farming |
| Frenzy timer | 4 minutes | Damage and mechanics execution both matter |
| Revive limit | 3 per player | Repeated mistakes can end the attempt |
| Unique materials | Wrathful Mind, Will and Ego in the possible loot pool | One dungeon can contribute to multiple crafting projects |
| Ariel Fragment (Bound) | Available; fragment type varies by dungeon | Supports the Ariel Daevanion Board |
| Philosopher's Stone: Revelation (Bound) | Chance to obtain; also available as a selectable guaranteed reward | Adds value beyond crafting materials |
| Other rewards | More Kina than regular difficulty; possible Expedition Hero Artwork; Hard achievements and Unique skins | Useful for broader progression and collections |
This is where Hard mode starts making sense. You might have a lower chance at a particular Wrathful material than in its dedicated Conquest dungeon, but you can also advance Ariel progression and collect other Hard-exclusive rewards. Through Substance Morph, 100 Ariel Fragments can be converted into one Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound), subject to a limit of 30 conversions per character for each dungeon's fragment type. Alternatively, one fragment can be converted into five Enhance Stones without that limit. If you're chasing several goals at once, that combined value can justify the tougher clear. If you need only three more Wrathful Will and nothing else, regular Urugugu Canyon is usually the more direct choice.

View All Aion 2 ServicesHow to Farm Each Wrathful Material Efficiently
The easiest way to waste your reward opportunities is to pick the hardest dungeon available and hope every useful item comes from it. Start with the crafting recipe, count what you're missing, and use the dungeon that actually favors that item. The route below assumes you're playing on the current Global version and claiming eligible Conquest rewards.
Wrathful Mind: Start With Krao Cave or Draupnir
Wrathful Mind has a 3.6% listed entry for Ultimate Berk in regular Krao Cave and Transcendent Bakarma in regular Draupnir. The corresponding Hard final-boss entries are 2.4%. That makes the regular versions the more obvious starting point when Mind is your only target. The extra side-boss entries also mean these dungeons offer more than one possible opportunity within their documented reward tables.
Between Krao Cave and Draupnir, choose the one your group clears faster and more consistently. An identical listed material chance doesn't make two dungeons equally efficient in practice. A clean route with familiar mechanics is generally preferable to a slower run with avoidable wipes, especially when your reward opportunities are limited.
Wrathful Will: Prioritize Urugugu Canyon and Vakron Sky Island
Wrathful Will is the material you shouldn't expect Hard Krao Cave to supply quickly. The listed final-boss chance is 3% in regular Urugugu Canyon and Vakron Sky Island, compared with 0.6% in Hard Krao Cave or Hard Draupnir. That's a substantial difference when you're trying to gather multiple copies for a weapon recipe rather than accepting whichever material appears first.
Urugugu Canyon and Vakron Sky Island also have additional boss entries at 1% per eligible roll. Work these dungeons into your existing Conquest rotation instead of spending every claim on a lower-probability alternative. If you already have a dependable team for Expedition runs, consistency and sensible reward allocation will matter more than repeatedly switching destinations after a few unlucky clears.
Wrathful Ego: Fire Temple and Ferocious Horn Den
Wrathful Ego is worth planning around before you reach the higher Dragon Lord recipes. Regular Fire Temple and Ferocious Horn Den each have a 2.4% listed final-boss entry, with additional 0.8% side-boss entries. The new Hard Krao Cave and Draupnir tables include Ego at 0.6% per final-boss reward-cube roll, so these Hard modes are a fallback or a combined-progression route rather than the strongest direct farm.
Which of the two regular dungeons should you prefer? Start with whichever your character can clear reliably while earning the rewards you actually need. If Ferocious Horn Den takes your group much longer, its matching listed final-boss chance doesn't automatically make it the better use of an evening. Keep track of your claimed cubes and completed runs instead of judging a route by one fortunate drop.
Wrathful Mind, Will and Ego Crafting Uses and Recipes
These materials matter because they appear in Dragon Lord equipment crafting, including Transfer Crafting upgrades that continue an existing equipment chain. The exact quantity changes with the item and upgrade tier. There isn't a universal rule that every Dragon Lord weapon needs one of each material, and the recipes can differ between Elyos and Asmodian equipment names.
A good example is the Elyos longsword progression. The White Dragon Lord Longsword consumes Mind and a much larger amount of Will, but no Ego in its direct recipe. The later Wise Dragon Lord Longsword shifts that requirement and introduces a substantial Ego cost. This means the right farming plan for the first upgrade isn't necessarily the right plan for the next.
| Crafted equipment | Faction | Wrathful Mind | Wrathful Will | Wrathful Ego |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| White Dragon Lord Longsword | Elyos | 3 | 15 | — |
| Wise Dragon Lord Longsword | Elyos | 3 | 3 | 20 |
| Wise Dragon Lord Dagger | Elyos | 3 | 3 | 20 |
| Ebony Dragon Lord Longsword | Asmodian | 3 | 3 | 20 |
These are direct material quantities for one listed crafting operation, not the total resources needed to create the entire equipment chain from scratch. For example, the Wise Dragon Lord Longsword recipe also needs a Splendent White Dragon Lord Longsword as its transfer material, an Artisan's Splendent Orichalcum Longsword, refining stones, Balaur components, Radiant Orichalcum Ore and Radiant Odyle. If you don't already own the prerequisite weapon, obtaining it adds another substantial cost.
The Asmodian equivalent uses the Ebony Dragon Lord naming at this stage, but the Ebony Dragon Lord Longsword recipe lists the same 3 Mind, 3 Will and 20 Ego requirement. Other weapon types, armor pieces and accessories have their own quantities. Always inspect the exact recipe for your faction and item slot before committing materials to a different upgrade.
Transfer Crafting: Why You Need More Than the Three Wrathful Materials
Transfer Crafting is especially important here because the displayed Wrathful costs are only part of a larger gear-progression system. A recipe may require the Splendent version of the preceding Dragon Lord item along with several crafted components. Having 20 Ego in storage won't let you skip that equipment prerequisite. Likewise, owning the previous weapon doesn't remove the material cost of the next transfer.
The inspected Wise Dragon Lord weapon recipes list guaranteed success for the Transfer Crafting step and a separate 25% COMBO activation chance. Those are different mechanics: a guaranteed successful transfer does not mean you'll always receive the higher COMBO result. The recipe also states that enhancement, amplification and Soul Binding levels of the transfer material carry forward, while the finished item becomes Soul Bound to the crafter. That makes choosing the correct character and equipment chain important before using expensive ingredients.
- Choose your final item. Confirm the weapon type, armor slot or accessory that fits your class and current build.
- Check your faction's recipe. Elyos and Asmodian equipment can have different names, even when the material quantities match.
- Inspect the transfer prerequisite. Make sure you have the required Splendent Dragon Lord item and any other crafted components.
- Count the Wrathful materials. Separate what you already own from what you must farm, purchase or exchange.
- Price the other ingredients. Refining stones, Balaur materials, Radiant Odyle and crafted precursor items can be as important to the final budget as the three Wrathful drops.
- Craft on the intended character. Check the Soul Binding outcome and transfer details before consuming the prerequisite gear.
I would not farm dozens of Wrathful materials without doing this calculation first. It's frustrating to finish collecting the rare dungeon drops, only to discover that the recipe needs a predecessor weapon you haven't crafted or another expensive component you overlooked. The AION 2 gear progression guide covers the broader equipment and transfer systems if you're still deciding whether to invest in a crafted upgrade.
Can You Buy Wrathful Mind, Will and Ego From the Season Shop?
Yes. The Global Season Shop includes bound versions of all three materials for Oath Coin. This is useful when you're short of a small number of items and don't want to depend entirely on dungeon drops. The catch is that these copies are bound and have purchase limits, so they're an option for your own crafting plans rather than tradable stock you can put on the Market.
| Item | Cost per item | Purchase limit | Trade status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wrathful Mind (Bound) | 6,250 Oath Coin | 10 per server | Bound |
| Wrathful Will (Bound) | 7,500 Oath Coin | 10 per server | Bound |
| Wrathful Ego (Bound) | 8,750 Oath Coin | 10 per server | Bound |
These are the prices and limits shown in the current Global Season Shop material listings, with the listed sale period ending on December 16, 2026. Verify the remaining stock and any active shop-period restrictions in your own client before spending Oath Coin. The shop is best treated as a way to close a crafting-material gap, not an unlimited alternative to Conquest. For a recipe demanding 20 Ego, for example, the listed shop limit cannot cover the entire requirement on its own.
Don't spend Oath Coin simply because the materials look rare. If your current build doesn't have a Dragon Lord upgrade planned, keeping the currency available may be more useful than filling storage with bound crafting supplies. On the other hand, when you're one or two items short of a completed recipe, the shop can save you from spending your next reward opportunities on a small final shortage.
Trading, Market Prices and Whether to Sell Your Drops
The ordinary Wrathful Mind, Will and Ego items are listed as tradable in the current client data. The bound versions from the Season Shop are different. That distinction matters if you're buying missing ingredients or considering selling a dungeon drop. Check the exact item's trade status and your account's Market eligibility rather than assuming two items with nearly identical names behave the same way.
Vendor values are not a useful measure of their real crafting value. The item records list shop-sale prices of 2,500 Kina for Mind, 3,000 for Will and 3,500 for Ego, but these are NPC sale values, not player-market prices. A material required in quantities of 15 or 20 can carry much greater value to crafters. Selling it to an NPC is generally a poor first choice unless you've checked that you genuinely have no better use for it.
If you're buying through the Market, compare the cost of the missing Wrathful items with the rest of the recipe and your available Kina budget. Don't calculate a finished weapon's cost from its three Wrathful materials alone. A transfer recipe may require an existing Splendent weapon, refining materials and rare intermediate components, and those expenses can change the decision completely. Prices vary by server and available listings, so a fixed universal Kina price would be misleading.
Best Wrathful Farming Route for Different Player Goals
The most efficient route depends on whether you're collecting one ingredient, preparing a specific recipe or farming general endgame progression. Rather than always choosing the hardest available dungeon, decide what a successful session should accomplish before you start spending reward opportunities.
| Player goal | Recommended route | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Need Wrathful Mind only | Regular Krao Cave or Draupnir | Higher listed Mind chance than their Hard variants |
| Need Wrathful Will only | Regular Urugugu Canyon or Vakron Sky Island | 3% listed final-boss entry for Will |
| Need Wrathful Ego only | Regular Fire Temple or Ferocious Horn Den | 2.4% listed final-boss entry for Ego |
| Need all three materials | Hard Krao Cave or Hard Draupnir, supplemented by targeted Conquest | Combined loot access, with targeted runs for remaining shortages |
| Need Ariel progression and crafting materials | Hard Krao Cave or Hard Draupnir | Earn Ariel-related rewards while retaining a chance at all three materials |
| Missing only a few materials | Compare Season Shop, Market and remaining Conquest rewards | Avoid an unnecessary run if another eligible source closes the gap |
For a Wise Dragon Lord weapon, I would start by securing the 20 Ego because it's the biggest direct Wrathful requirement in that example. Then I'd check whether I already have three Mind and three Will from earlier farming. If not, I'd target their preferred Conquest dungeons instead of hoping those particular items appear during unrelated clears. For a White Dragon Lord weapon requiring 15 Will and three Mind, the priority reverses: Will becomes the main material project.
It's also worth watching your Odyle Energy and available reward opportunities. You can complete dungeon content without necessarily receiving every reward you hoped for, and spending resources on a low-priority cube can delay a more useful claim. NC's Ludra event announcement, updated October 27, confirms an Odyle Energy Boost starting after the October 28 maintenance and ending with the November 10/11 maintenance, depending on region. During the event, logging in and checking in-game mail provides Odyle Energy ×4 once per account per day; each event mail expires after seven days. Use any eligible extra energy on the dungeon that addresses your current shortage.
Will Abyssal Forge: Ludra Be a Better Wrathful Material Farm?
The current Global item database also lists Wrathful Mind, Will and Ego under Abyssal Forge: Ludra, with 10% reward-cube entries associated with Eternal Ludra. That looks considerably better than the currently available Expedition entries, but there's a crucial timing detail: Ludra is not available as a Global farming route on October 27, 2026. A database listing can describe content that hasn't opened yet.
NC's official Ludra announcement schedules its return for November 4, 2026, with 2,800 Item Level required for Normal and 3,000 for Hard. Once that content is live, its real reward access, clear consistency and entry restrictions will need to be checked before calling it the best practical Wrathful farm. Until then, build your route around the Conquest dungeons and Hard Expeditions that are actually available.
Global availability check: Some database entries also show future Hard versions of Urugugu Canyon, Vakron Sky Island, Fire Temple and Ferocious Horn Den. Those entries are marked as not yet open in the current EU/NA client. Do not confuse their recorded loot tables with currently accessible Hard Expeditions.
Wrathful Mind, Will and Ego FAQ
Do Hard Expeditions guarantee Wrathful Mind, Will or Ego?
No. Hard Krao Cave and Hard Draupnir have all three materials in their possible reward tables, but none is guaranteed simply because you complete the dungeon. The listed drop chances apply to eligible reward-cube rolls. You can finish a Hard run, receive other rewards and still get none of the Wrathful materials.
Can Wrathful Ego drop in regular Krao Cave?
The current Global reward tables list regular Krao Cave primarily as a Wrathful Mind source, not a Wrathful Ego source. To target Ego in currently available content, use regular Fire Temple or Ferocious Horn Den, or run Hard Krao Cave or Hard Draupnir for their expanded material pools. Always check the current difficulty before interpreting a dungeon's drop list.
Are Wrathful Mind, Will and Ego interchangeable in crafting?
No. Each is a separate crafting ingredient, and recipes specify the exact quantities required. Three spare Mind cannot replace three missing Will, and owning enough of all three still doesn't bypass the other equipment and crafting-material prerequisites. Check the recipe for the precise item you're making.
Should I save Wrathful materials if I'm not crafting yet?
Usually, yes—at least until you've decided whether a Dragon Lord equipment upgrade fits your build. These materials have specific crafting uses and the ordinary versions are tradable, so keeping them preserves options for future recipes or Market sales. If you choose to sell, compare current player-market demand with the value of saving the material for your next gear upgrade.
Final Thoughts
The October 21 Hard Expedition update made Wrathful Mind, Will and Ego easier to collect alongside broader endgame rewards, but it didn't turn Hard Krao Cave and Draupnir into the best dedicated farm for every material. Regular Krao Cave and Draupnir remain stronger listed sources for Mind; Urugugu Canyon and Vakron Sky Island are the direct route for Will; and Fire Temple and Ferocious Horn Den are the better targets for Ego. Hard mode earns its place when you also want Ariel Fragments, Philosopher's Stones and other progression rewards. Start with the recipe, count your missing materials and spend your reward opportunities where they matter most.
