Need Help Progressing in Diablo Immortal?

Platinum is Diablo Immortal’s player-traded currency. The most reliable free method is to complete the Daily Activity reward by earning Battle Points, while the best long-term method is to sell eligible unbound items through Wynton’s Grand Market. Normal Gems, Legendary Gems, Charms, and certain event or crafting materials can create Platinum, but only items marked as unbound can normally be listed. Your server’s demand determines how much an item is worth, so no farming method guarantees a specific income.

What Platinum Does in Diablo Immortal

Platinum is used primarily at Wynton’s Grand Market and the Apprentice Jeweler. You spend it to purchase eligible Normal Gems, Legendary Gems, Charms, skill stones, and other tradeable materials. Platinum also supports Charm extraction and several gem-related crafting or upgrading decisions.

Platinum is different from Gold, Hilts, Eternal Orbs, and Scrap Materials. Enemies do not simply drop Platinum as ground loot. You earn it through selected activities, create it by selling tradeable items, or purchase it indirectly through the Shop using Eternal Orbs.

The Market is not a general equipment auction house. Most regular gear, set items, Legendary Items, and equipment upgrades cannot be traded there. The items that matter for Platinum farming are usually unbound Gems, Legendary Gems, Charms, and selected materials made available by current content.

The Best Ways to Get Platinum

1. Complete the Daily Activity reward

For a dependable daily income, open the Codex and check the Activity section. Earn the required Battle Points from activities such as Bounties, dungeons, Elder Rifts, Challenge Rifts, Hidden Lairs, zone activities, and other Codex objectives. Once you reach the daily Battle Point threshold, claim the Platinum reward from the activity track.

The commonly listed reward is 300 Platinum for reaching 120 Battle Points in a day. The reward must be claimed from the Codex rather than assumed to have been added automatically. Daily activity rewards can accumulate for a limited number of missed days, but do not treat the accumulation feature as a replacement for regular play.

This is the best starting method because it does not depend on Market prices, gem drops, or finding a buyer. New characters should prioritize fast Battle Point activities instead of spending time on inefficient farming routes solely for Platinum.

2. Sell unbound Normal Gems

Unbound Normal Gems are the most practical tradeable resource for many free-to-play players. Normal Gems obtained through eligible multiplayer activities can be marked unbound and listed on the Market. Bound gems remain useful for your own secondary attributes but cannot be sold.

To maximize your chance of receiving tradeable gems, participate in activities that support multiplayer gem drops and use a full party when the activity’s reward rules favor group play. Hidden Lairs, certain open-world activities, and other current content can contribute to your gem supply, but the exact reward behavior can change with events and patches.

Check the item description before planning a farming session. A gem that appears identical to a tradeable gem may be bound because of its source. Do not assume that every Normal Gem from an Elder Rift, quest reward, event chest, or vendor is eligible for sale.

Normal Gem prices depend on color, rank, server population, and demand from players upgrading secondary attributes. List gems at a competitive price rather than automatically choosing the maximum price. An item that remains unsold ties up both the listing slot and the potential Platinum.

3. Sell unwanted Legendary Gems

Some Legendary Gems can be listed on the Market if they are unbound. This includes eligible gems obtained from tradeable sources, such as certain Eternal Legendary Crest results or other sources that explicitly produce unbound items. A Legendary Gem created or obtained from a bound source cannot be converted into a tradeable version simply by upgrading it.

Before selling an unwanted Legendary Gem, compare three options:

  • Keep it for your current build.
  • Use it as upgrade material for another Legendary Gem.
  • Sell it for Platinum.

F2P players should not sell every tradeable Legendary Gem automatically. A cheap gem that fills a missing build role may provide more combat value than its Market price. Conversely, a high-demand gem that does not fit your class, activity, or long-term setup may be a good source of Platinum.

Do not confuse a gem’s star rating with its immediate value to your account. A higher-star gem can be expensive to upgrade, and a lower-cost two-star gem may offer better practical progress for a developing character. Sell only after considering Resonance, gem effects, gem power, and your intended PvE or PvP setup.

4. Sell Charms and skill stones

Charms can become a Platinum source when they contain useful skill bonuses. A Charm can be upgraded through the Charm Craftsman, and a fully ranked Charm can be extracted into a skill stone. Skill stones can be listed on the Market, although their value depends on whether the skill combination is desirable for current classes and builds.

Do not extract every Charm. Most Charms have weak, mismatched, or low-demand skill combinations. Keep Charms that improve skills used by your class, especially combinations that support popular farming, dungeon, raid, or PvP setups. Extract poor Charms only when the extraction cost and expected selling price make sense for your account.

The Market does not guarantee that a skill stone will sell. Skill stones compete with one another, and demand changes whenever class balance, Legendary Essences, or popular builds change.

5. Sell eligible materials from current content

Some newer systems and temporary activities introduce materials that can be bought or sold for Platinum. Terror Essence is one example of a material that has been made available through the Market for relevant content. These opportunities are not permanent rules for every activity, so inspect the item tooltip and current Market listings before farming them specifically for Platinum.

Materials are most profitable when players need them for a newly released activity, a difficult progression system, or a popular farming route. Prices generally fall when supply increases or when the content becomes less relevant. Treat material selling as an opportunity rather than a guaranteed income stream.

How to Farm Tradeable Gems Efficiently

The strongest free-to-play Platinum routine combines the daily activity reward with a controlled schedule for unbound Normal Gems. The goal is not to kill monsters indefinitely. The goal is to complete the activities that can produce tradeable rewards without sacrificing more valuable progression.

  1. Open the Codex and identify the fastest activities contributing to the Daily Activity reward.
  2. Complete enough Battle Points to unlock the daily Platinum reward.
  3. Join a four-player party for activities where multiplayer participation improves the chance of receiving unbound Normal Gems.
  4. Run Hidden Lairs and other gem-producing activities when their rewards are available and your character can complete them efficiently.
  5. Check your inventory for the unbound icon before selling anything.
  6. Compare current Market prices by gem color and rank.
  7. List surplus gems at a realistic price and retain the gems required for your own secondary-attribute upgrades.

Use the party finder, clan chat, Warband chat, or local chat to reduce downtime between runs. A fast group that continuously enters activities usually produces better results than a stronger but uncoordinated group that spends most of the session waiting.

Do not sacrifice all character progression for Platinum. Dungeons, Helliquary activities, Challenge Rifts, Bestiary turn-ins, and current events can provide Combat Rating, upgrade materials, Legendary Items, Set Items, or other rewards that are more valuable than a short farming session.

How to Use the Market Without Wasting Platinum

Open Wynton’s Grand Market in Westmarch and use the filters to search for the exact item, rank, star quality, or gem type you need. Compare several listings instead of purchasing the first item shown. The cheapest listing is not always the best choice if it has an unsuitable rank, star rating, or effect for your build.

Buy Legendary Gems for a specific purpose

Spend Platinum on a Legendary Gem when it fills a clear gap in your setup. Examples include adding damage for open-world farming, survivability for Battlegrounds, control resistance for PvP, or a damage-and-defense effect useful in dungeons and raids.

For an F2P account, two-star Legendary Gems are often easier to develop than expensive five-star gems. A lower-cost gem that reaches a useful rank can provide more practical progress than a five-star gem that remains underdeveloped because the account lacks gem power and Platinum.

Higher-investment players can consider five-star Legendary Gems, but the purchase price is only one part of the cost. Upgrading the gem requires additional copies or gem power, and the value of the gem depends on the build and activity where it is used.

Buy Normal Gems selectively

Normal Gems improve secondary attributes and can become a substantial long-term Platinum expense. Prioritize the colors and attributes that support your build instead of buying every available gem. If your account is still replacing primary gear or increasing Combat Rating, do not empty your Platinum balance on small secondary-stat gains.

Buy when the Market price is favorable and when the purchase advances a planned rank threshold. Avoid impulse purchases made solely because a listing appears inexpensive compared with a more expensive gem type.

Use Platinum for Charms only when the skill bonus matters

A skill stone is worth considering when it contains a skill bonus that directly supports your active build. Do not buy a random stone hoping to improve a future class. Class changes, balance updates, and new Legendary Essences can change which skills are valuable.

Platinum Priorities for Different Accounts

Account TypeFirst PrioritySecond PriorityUsually Avoid
New F2PSave a reserve and complete the daily rewardBuy affordable build-enabling Legendary GemsExpensive five-star gems and unnecessary Normal Gems
Developing F2PUpgrade a stable gem lineupPurchase targeted Normal GemsChanging builds every few days
Low spenderFill missing gem effectsImprove secondary attributes graduallyBuying items solely because they are listed at maximum price
High-investment accountComplete planned five-star gem upgradesPurchase high-demand tradeable gemsIgnoring upgrade costs after the initial purchase

F2P Platinum strategy

F2P players should treat Platinum as a limited progression resource. Claim the daily activity reward, sell surplus unbound gems, and maintain a reserve for a Legendary Gem that completes your build. Do not spend every day’s income immediately.

Your best investment is usually a gem that improves several activities at once. A gem useful in open-world farming, dungeons, Challenge Rifts, and Helliquary content has greater account value than a narrowly specialized PvP gem if you spend most of your time in PvE.

Low-spender strategy

Low-spending players can use Platinum to smooth out unlucky gem drops rather than attempting to purchase an entire endgame setup. Use tradeable Legendary Gems as a way to target missing effects, and continue earning gem power through normal play.

Battle Pass and other paid rewards may improve the number of resources entering the account, but they do not remove the need to choose between gem copies, Normal Gems, Charms, and other Market purchases. Set a spending limit for each progression goal.

Higher-investment strategy

Higher-investment accounts can purchase powerful Legendary Gems more quickly, but Market prices fluctuate and a high Platinum balance does not guarantee a particular listing will appear. Plan the complete upgrade path before buying the first copy of a high-cost gem.

Do not purchase a five-star gem only because it has a high Resonance value. The gem’s effect, rank, awakening requirements, and compatibility with your class determine whether it is a good investment.

How to Tell Whether an Item Is Sellable

Inspect the item in your inventory and look for the unbound or Market eligibility indicator. If the item is bound, it cannot be listed. Bound and unbound versions of the same gem may look similar, so check every item individually.

  • Unbound Normal Gems can usually be listed when obtained from an eligible source.
  • Unbound Legendary Gems can be listed when the gem’s source and current Market rules permit trading.
  • Fully upgraded Charms can be extracted into skill stones for possible sale.
  • Most equipment, Set Items, and Legendary Items cannot be sold through the Market.
  • Some event materials may be tradeable only while the related system supports Market listings.

Market eligibility can change after an update. When a new activity launches, read the item tooltip and check whether the resulting material is bound before investing farming time.

Daily Platinum Routine for 15, 30, and 60 Minutes

When you have 15 minutes

Claim available rewards, complete the fastest Codex activities, and progress toward the Daily Activity threshold. If the threshold cannot be completed in the available time, prioritize activities that provide both Battle Points and useful progression rewards.

When you have 30 minutes

Complete the Daily Activity reward, then join a party for a quick gem-producing activity. Check the Market afterward and list eligible surplus items. Avoid spending the entire session searching for a perfect listing.

When you have 60 minutes or more

Complete the daily reward first, then combine party-based Normal Gem farming with content your character still needs for Combat Rating, Helliquary progression, Set Items, or Battle Pass progress. This prevents Platinum farming from slowing the rest of your account.

How to Spend Platinum Efficiently

  1. Keep enough Platinum for a planned Legendary Gem or build replacement.
  2. Prioritize gems that improve multiple activities.
  3. Use lower-cost two-star Legendary Gems when five-star upgrades are not realistic.
  4. Buy Normal Gems only when they support your chosen secondary attributes.
  5. Purchase Charms or skill stones only when the relevant skill bonuses match your build.
  6. Review Market prices before every major purchase because values vary by server and time.
  7. Never buy Platinum or trade items through unauthorized third-party services.

The fastest Platinum method depends on your account. New and F2P players should combine the daily activity reward with tradeable Normal Gems. Developed players can add Legendary Gem and skill-stone sales. Higher-investment players may purchase Platinum, but even then, careful Market selection is necessary because Platinum does not guarantee a specific gem, upgrade result, or combat outcome.
