Need Help Progressing in Path of Exile 2?

The current Path of Exile 2 campaign provides 24 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points, 100 permanent Spirit, and a guaranteed 10% bonus to each elemental resistance. Additional choices in Act 4 and the Khari Bazaar Interlude can raise the campaign contribution to 20% Fire, Cold, and Lightning Resistance, but those extra resistance bonuses are not automatic.

This guide is a reward checklist rather than another campaign walkthrough. Use it to identify the exact boss, quest item, NPC, or interactable responsible for every permanent Skill Point, Spirit, and resistance reward across Acts 1 through 4 and all three Interludes.

PoE 2 Permanent Campaign Bonuses at a Glance

Permanent campaign rewards stay on the character after the story ends and do not depend on equipped gear. Weapon Set Passive Skill Points are different from ordinary level-up points: they let you create passive allocations that become active with the corresponding weapon set. Spirit increases the resource available for Persistent Skills, while permanent resistances reduce the amount that must be supplied by equipment.

The current campaign uses Acts 1 through 4 followed by three Interludes. It does not use the old Cruel replay. Grinding Gear Games has also shortened and rearranged several campaign areas, as described in the official Path of Exile 2 patch notes, but the reward locations below follow the current route.

All 24 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points

There are twelve campaign rewards worth 2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points each. The final total is 24, and the points can be configured for both weapon-set allocations. They are not 24 unrestricted points that can be added anywhere without following passive-tree connections.

Mount Kriar InterludeHowling CavesDefeat the Abominable Yeti and return the Icy Tusks to Hilda2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points
After all InterludesKingsmarchFinish all three Interludes and speak with the Hooded One2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points

Acts 1 through 4 provide 4 points each, the three Interludes provide 2 points each, and the final Hooded One conversation provides the remaining 2. Act 4 and the Interludes replaced the former Cruel campaign structure when Grinding Gear Games introduced the nonlinear island act and three temporary side stories in The Third Edict campaign update.

Some older checklists still place the Act 4 Skill Point reward on the Blind Beast. That route is outdated. The current Act 4 rewards come from the Trial of the Ancestors and Omniphobia. If the character has only 22 points, Wolvenhold, the Icy Tusks turn-in, and the final Hooded One conversation are the easiest late-campaign rewards to overlook.

All 100 Permanent Spirit Locations

Only three campaign objectives permanently increase Spirit, and together they provide exactly 100. Uncut Spirit Gems unlock or upgrade Persistent Skills but do not increase the size of the Spirit resource by themselves. The permanent increase is applied by using the special reward obtained from each objective.

StageLocationObjectivePermanent Spirit

Freythorn and Azak Bog are side areas, so the story route can pass them without collecting their Spirit. Mount Kriar can be completed in any Interlude order. Builds that reserve Spirit for minions, auras, or other Persistent Skills can run Mount Kriar first after Act 4 and collect its 40 Spirit early in the Interlude phase.

Every Permanent Resistance Reward

The guaranteed campaign bonuses provide 10% Fire, 10% Cold, and 10% Lightning Resistance. Two selectable systems can add another 10% to every element: the three Halls of the Dead Tattoos add 5% to their matching elements, while one Orbala Boon adds 5% to all Elemental Resistances. Choosing attributes or another Boon changes the final total.

Khari Bazaar InterludeQimahSelect the resistance option at Orbala's Pillar5% to all Elemental ResistancesCan be changed later

A character that selects all three resistance Tattoos and Orbala's resistance Boon receives 20% Fire, Cold, and Lightning Resistance from campaign rewards. A character that takes the attribute Tattoos and a different Orbala Boon receives only the fixed 10% for each element. This distinction matters when comparing resistance totals with another character or an older checklist.

The permanent bonuses help with gearing but do not guarantee capped resistances. Equipment, campaign progression, and the character's other modifiers still determine the values shown on the character panel. If a missed permanent objective is blocking progression, a contextual PoE 2 campaign boost is available, while the tables above contain every resistance and stat location needed to collect them without assistance.

Other Permanent Campaign Choices

Skill Points, Spirit, and resistances are the most searched campaign rewards, but several other permanent bonuses affect survivability or build requirements. Some selections can be changed by revisiting their interactable, while others are locked to the character. Read the choice before using the quest item instead of assuming every campaign decision can be reversed.

Kaom's Lesson grants 30% increased Armour, Evasion, and Energy Shield. Rakiata's Lesson allows 15% of Armour to apply to Elemental Damage, grants Deflection Rating equal to 12% of Evasion Rating, and provides 12% faster Energy Shield Recharge. The current official quest changes specifically improved the Tribal Medicine reward, which is why older guides may show a weaker or different result.

Orbala's seven options are 5 to all Attributes, 5% to all Elemental Resistances, 12% increased Cooldown Recovery Rate, 3% increased Movement Speed, 20% increased Presence Area of Effect, 15% increased global Armour, Evasion, and Energy Shield, or Alima's Disgrace. Alima's Disgrace grants 5% increased experience but applies the inverse of the other six bonuses, so it should not be selected without checking every drawback.

How to Check Which PoE 2 Bonuses Are Missing

Open the campaign world map and inspect each area with a permanent-reward icon before moving into the current Path of Exile 2 endgame. A completed icon changes state, while an unfinished marker indicates that its boss, quest item, or turn-in still remains. Do not stop after killing the target: Una's Lute, the Final Letter, the Icy Tusks, and several boss drops require a return to an NPC or the use of a reward item before the bonus is applied.

  • Below 24 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points: check Wolvenhold, Howling Caves, Journey's End, Deshar, and the Hooded One after all Interludes.
  • Below 100 campaign Spirit: revisit Freythorn, Azak Bog, and Kriar Village, then verify that each special skull was used.
  • Missing a fixed resistance: check Beira in Clearfell, the Sisters of Garukhan shrine in the Spires of Deshar, and Blackjaw in Jiquani's Machinarium.
  • Different resistance total from another build: compare the three Act 4 Tattoos and the active Orbala Boon before assuming a quest was missed.
  • Missing a choice-based bonus: revisit the Relic Altar, Goddess of Justice, or Orbala's Pillar if the selection is one of the options that can be changed.

Ascendancy points, ordinary passive points gained from leveling, Skill Gems, Support Gems, free Unique items, and crafting bench unlocks are not included in the 24-point total. Those systems remain valuable, but they use different progression counters. Once the campaign audit is complete, the character is ready to move into the Atlas.

Final Thoughts

Audit permanent rewards before replacing campaign gear for early Maps. Missing Skill Points or Spirit can cost more power than a modest item upgrade, while the resistance Tattoos and Orbala Boon can temporarily reduce pressure on equipment. Make the irreversible Servi, Tattoo, and Tribal Medicine decisions around the intended endgame build, then use the swappable Charm, flask, and Orbala choices to solve whatever the character currently lacks.
