Best PoE 3.29 Bleed Ground Slam Duelist Slayer Build

Best PoE 3.29 Bleed Ground Slam Duelist Slayer Build

This PoE 3.29 Bleed Ground Slam Slayer is a physical two-handed Axe build designed for campaign progression, Atlas completion, general mapping, and steady investment into endgame bosses. Sunder handles the campaign and early transition, while Ground Slam of Earthshaking becomes the main skill after the character has reliable Bleed Chance, Aggravate, a suitable weapon, and enough defenses to remain in melee range.

The completed build applies powerful individual bleeds rather than scaling damage through constant rapid attacks. Ground Slam of Earthshaking covers a wide frontal area, Vaal Ground Slam provides circular coverage, and Static Strike creates repeated hits that help aggravate an existing bleed against stationary targets. Slayer contributes physical reflect immunity, damage against Unique enemies, overleech, reduced damage taken while leeching, and a 20% execute triggered by hits.

Launch-day notice: This guide was verified on July 24, 2026 using the final PoE 3.29 patch notes and current gem, passive, and Ascendancy data. Patch 3.29 does not directly change Ground Slam, Ground Slam of Earthshaking, Bleeding, or Slayer, but it introduces new socket rules and replaces old reduced Mana Cost modifiers with Mana Cost Efficiency. Launch-week item prices and the cost of specialised endgame equipment may remain unstable.

PoE 3.29 Bleed Ground Slam Slayer Build Overview

The following overview shows the intended league-start progression, final main skill, damage type, weapon direction, core mechanics, and content for which the build is best suited.

The build requires no mandatory Unique Item to finish the campaign or begin mapping. Ryslatha’s Coil becomes the most important specialised damage Unique later, but a rare belt with Life and resistances is sufficient until the weapon, defenses, and Mana sustain are established.

Bleed Ground Slam Strengths and Weaknesses

Bleed Ground Slam Slayer combines wide melee coverage with persistent boss damage and strong recovery, but it depends on a good physical weapon and performs poorly in Maps that disable leech or prevent bleeding.

Strengths

  • Sunder provides an inexpensive and dependable campaign route.
  • No mandatory Unique Items are needed for the campaign or early Maps.
  • Ground Slam of Earthshaking covers a wide frontal area.
  • Vaal Ground Slam supplies circular coverage for dense encounters.
  • Bleeding continues dealing damage while the player avoids boss attacks.
  • Bane of Legends provides immunity to reflected physical damage.
  • Brutal Fervour supplies overleech and reduced damage taken while leeching.
  • Headsman executes enemies after a hit leaves them at 20% Life or lower.
  • Resolute Technique removes accuracy problems during progression.
  • A rare two-handed Axe provides a clear upgrade path from the campaign to endgame.

Weaknesses

  • Ground Slam must be aimed and does not provide automatic full-screen coverage.
  • The attack cadence is slower than conventional strike or projectile builds.
  • Boss damage requires Bleed, Aggravate, Vulnerability, and a manual Warcry to work together.
  • Damage falls sharply when the physical weapon is not upgraded.
  • Cannot Leech and Bleed Avoidance Map modifiers can disable core mechanics.
  • Ryslatha’s Coil and Volatility can produce inconsistent low damage rolls while mapping.
  • Armour and overleech do not protect against every large elemental or chaos hit.
  • The build must remain close enough to bosses to apply new bleeds and maintain leech.

Players comparing Ground Slam with faster, more automated starters can use the best PoE 3.29 builds overview before committing to the slower Slam play style.

How Bleeding, Aggravate, and Ground Slam Work

Bleeding is physical damage over time based on the base physical damage of the attack that inflicted it. An enemy may have multiple bleed instances, but normally only the strongest active instance deals damage. This makes the size of an individual Ground Slam hit more important than maintaining the highest possible attack rate. The final build scales weapon damage, physical damage, physical Damage over Time Multiplier, Bleeding Damage, exerted attacks, and modifiers that make bleeding deal damage faster.

Moving enemies take three times the normal Bleeding Damage. Most bosses remain stationary for significant portions of a fight, so the build needs Aggravate to make an existing bleed deal damage as though the target were moving. Aggravate does not replace Bleed Chance and should not be assumed to empower the bleed created by the same hit. Apply the bleed first, then use Static Strike beams, follow-up exerted slams, Vulnerability Quality, Bloodletting, and the Bleeding Mastery to aggravate the active instance.

Ground Slam of Earthshaking is the main regular attack because it produces a wide frontal wave with high damage effectiveness and a strong chance to stun. Enemies closer to the character receive the most favourable part of its damage profile, making careful positioning important against bosses. Vaal Ground Slam attacks in every direction and can be exerted by Seismic Cry, making it valuable for Ritual, Breach, Expedition, and packs that approach from outside the normal Ground Slam cone.

PoE 3.29 does not directly change these mechanics. The relevant confirmed changes in the official PoE 3.29 patch notes concern sockets, item systems, and Mana Cost Efficiency rather than Ground Slam, Bleeding, or the core Slayer nodes.

Mapping Rotation

  1. Activate Blood Rage at the beginning of the Map and refresh it when necessary.
  2. Use Leap Slam or Frostblink to approach the next pack.
  3. Allow Autoexertion with Seismic Cry to prepare the next Slam when the reservation setup is available.
  4. Use Ground Slam of Earthshaking once into an ordinary pack.
  5. Use Vaal Ground Slam when enemies surround the character or when a dense mechanic begins.
  6. Alternate the two Slam skills instead of spending every Vaal charge on the same pack.
  7. Continue moving while the bleed finishes surviving Rare monsters.

Do not stand still and repeatedly attack normal monsters that are already dying. Additional attacks are justified against Rare enemies when the first hit produced a low weapon roll, failed to inflict bleeding, or did not generate the required leech and Fortification.

Boss Rotation

  1. Confirm that Blood Rage, Endurance Charges, and defensive flasks are active.
  2. Apply Vulnerability to the boss.
  3. Hit once with Static Strike to activate its repeated beams.
  4. Use Rallying Cry linked to Urgent Orders.
  5. Activate the tincture if one is equipped and Mana Burn is currently manageable.
  6. Use Ground Slam of Earthshaking several times to roll a strong bleed.
  7. Allow Static Strike or follow-up exerted attacks to aggravate the active bleed.
  8. Reposition while the strongest bleed continues dealing damage.
  9. Attack again when the bleed is expiring, leech has ended, or the boss approaches the Headsman execution threshold.

Headsman does not execute an enemy from a Bleeding Damage tick by itself. A hit from one of the character’s skills must leave the enemy at 20% Life or lower, so continue attacking when a boss enters its final Life segment.

The main links scale physical damage and bleeding from a powerful individual Slam. Begin with the supports available during the campaign and add the complete setup only after the character has enough sockets, attributes, and Mana sustain.

Campaign Sunder Four-Link

Sunder - Melee Physical Damage Support - Brutality Support - Fist of War Support

Chance to Bleed Support can temporarily replace one damage support until the passive tree and equipment provide reliable Bleed Chance. Ruthless Support is another useful early option before every final support is available.

Ground Slam of Earthshaking Four-Link

Ground Slam of Earthshaking - Fist of War Support - Brutality Support - Melee Physical Damage Support

Fist of War rewards the slower Slam rhythm with a powerful Ancestral Boost. Brutality commits the supported skill to physical damage and prevents elemental or chaos damage from the main attack.

Recommended Five-Link

Ground Slam of Earthshaking - Fist of War Support - Brutality Support - Melee Physical Damage Support - Fortify Support

Fortify Support remains valuable until another source can maintain Fortification reliably against bosses. Mapping Fortification is not enough if it immediately disappears during a long isolated encounter.

Recommended Six-Link

Ground Slam of Earthshaking - Fist of War Support - Brutality Support - Melee Physical Damage Support - Fortify Support - Cruelty Support

Cruelty is the general mapping choice because it provides consistent damage without creating extreme low rolls. Volatility Support can replace Cruelty for dedicated bossing, particularly after equipping Ryslatha’s Coil, but the combined damage variance can make routine mapping less consistent.

Vaal Ground Slam Setup

Vaal Ground Slam - Brutality Support - Melee Physical Damage Support - Cruelty Support - Damage on Full Life Support - Maim Support

Ruthless, Volatility, or Endurance Charge on Melee Stun can replace Maim according to the rest of the setup. Vaal Ground Slam does not need a second six-link during early progression; a four-link version already provides useful circular coverage.

Auras and Reservation

  • Pride: The primary offensive aura for sustained physical damage against nearby enemies.
  • Herald of Purity: Adds physical damage and improves the main attack without converting it away from physical.
  • Flesh and Stone: Use Sand Stance for mapping protection or Blood Stance when additional nearby physical pressure is more valuable.
  • Blood and Sand: An inexpensive campaign reservation option before the final aura package is ready.
  • Autoexertion and Seismic Cry: Automates exertion for smoother mapping but requires additional reservation.

Do not activate every reservation skill immediately. The correct setup must leave enough Mana for Ground Slam, Leap Slam, Vulnerability, Static Strike, and Rallying Cry to be used during the same boss sequence.

Warcry and Aggravate Utility

Rallying Cry - Urgent Orders Support

Rallying Cry is used manually before difficult Rare monsters and bosses. Urgent Orders reduces the time spent standing still during the Warcry animation.

Static Strike - Maim Support - More Duration Support

Static Strike is not a second damage skill. Strike once to activate its beams, then return to Ground Slam while the repeated hits provide additional chances to aggravate the current bleed. Ancestral Call can be added when sockets allow or when targeting the boss feels unreliable.

Movement and Defense

Leap Slam - Faster Attacks Support - Momentum Support

Use Leap Slam for continuous movement and Frostblink for an instant repositioning option. Frostblink is especially useful when a boss ability begins during the Ground Slam animation.

Molten Shell - Cast when Damage Taken Support

Keep the gem levels compatible when Molten Shell is triggered. A manually activated Molten Shell can provide stronger protection when the player can time it before a dangerous boss attack.

Additional Utility

  • Blood Rage: Supplies Attack Speed and Frenzy Charges during mapping at the cost of Life degeneration.
  • Vulnerability: Apply manually until a reliable automated source is available.
  • Enduring Cry: An optional source of recovery and Endurance Charges.
  • Redblade Banner: Can be placed in the weapon swap with Enduring Cry for specialised charge preparation.

Mana Sustain in PoE 3.29

PoE 3.29 removes the former Mana plus reduced Mana Cost Ring craft and replaces it with Mana plus increased Mana Cost Efficiency. The reduced Mana Cost of Attacks Searing Exarch Helmet implicit has also been replaced with Mana Cost Efficiency. Older guides recommending flat negative Mana costs on newly crafted Rings are no longer current.

  • Use Mana Cost Efficiency on Rings and the Helmet implicit.
  • Take an Attack or Life Mastery that transfers part of the skill cost to Life.
  • Use Mana leech while the physical hit is large enough to sustain it.
  • Use an Enduring Mana Flask during early progression.
  • Link Lifetap when the Life pool and recovery can safely support the cost.
  • Add Mana Cost Efficiency from Jewels or passive clusters when available.
  • Reduce reservation until the complete combat rotation works consistently.

Slayer Ascendancy, Passive Tree, Bandits, and Pantheon

The Slayer tree first establishes physical reflect immunity and boss damage, then adds the 20% hit-based execute and overleech. The final choice depends on whether the character needs additional mapping area or more defensive utility while leeching.

Recommended Slayer Ascendancy Order

  1. Bane of Legends: Take after the Normal Labyrinth for more damage against Unique enemies and immunity to reflected physical damage.
  2. Headsman: Take after the Cruel Labyrinth for the 20% hit-based execution and mapping speed after kills.
  3. Brutal Fervour: Take after the Merciless Labyrinth so Life Leech remains active at full Life and the character takes reduced damage while leeching.
  4. Impact: Take after the Eternal Labyrinth for mapping Area of Effect and accuracy.

Endless Hunger is the main alternative to Impact. It supplies Attack Speed, stun protection, and protection from bleeding while leeching, which may allow the build to remove Unwavering Stance or another personal Bleed solution. Impact’s proximity-based melee damage bonus does not scale Ground Slam’s area damage, so its primary benefits here are Area of Effect and accuracy.

The official Path of Exile Ascendancy overview confirms Slayer as one of the Duelist’s three Ascendancy choices. Physical Reflect Maps become safe only after Bane of Legends has been allocated.

Passive Tree Priorities

  1. Take nearby Maximum Life, physical attack damage, and two-handed weapon nodes.
  2. Path toward Axe clusters once the two-handed Axe direction is confirmed.
  3. Take Resolute Technique when missed attacks begin reducing damage and leech consistency.
  4. Build reliable Bleed Chance before removing Chance to Bleed Support.
  5. Take physical Damage over Time and Bleeding clusters.
  6. Take the Bleeding Mastery that can Aggravate bleeding on targets hit by exerted attacks.
  7. Add the Axe Mastery that makes bleeding deal damage faster.
  8. Take Life Leech and increased maximum recovery per second from leech.
  9. Add Endurance Charges and the Bleeding Mastery that grants Damage over Time Multiplier per Endurance Charge when efficient.
  10. Finish with Armour, Maximum Life, Jewel Sockets, Chaos Resistance support, and optional Spell Suppression.
Character LevelPassive Priorities
Levels 1–30Maximum Life, physical attack damage, two-handed damage, basic Axe nodes, and leech
Levels 31–55Resolute Technique, Fortification, additional Life, Armour, Bleed Chance, and physical damage over time
Levels 56–75Aggravate Mastery, faster Bleeding, Endurance Charges, reservation support, and increased leech recovery
Levels 76–90Maximum Life wheels, Chaos Resistance support, additional Damage over Time Multiplier, and Jewel Sockets
Levels 91–100Cluster Jewels, Spell Suppression, maximum resistance, or further Life according to the completed equipment

Resolute Technique prevents Critical Strikes, so Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike Multiplier provide no value after taking it. A critical Bleed Ground Slam setup requires different equipment, accuracy, passives, and damage calculations and is not the league-start version described here.

Bandits

Help Alira during league start when her elemental resistances solve several campaign gear problems. Change to Eramir after rare equipment can maintain capped resistances without the reward. Players who already have suitable equipment can choose Eramir immediately for the additional Passive Skill Point.

Pantheon

Use Soul of the Brine King while Freeze and Chill protection remain incomplete. Soul of Lunaris is an alternative for mapping after ailments are solved, while Soul of Solaris is useful for isolated bosses. Soul of Garukhan helps against Shock, Soul of Shakari helps against Poison, and Soul of Ralakesh can support Bleeding and Corrupted Blood protection until equipment provides permanent solutions.

Bleed Ground Slam Leveling Guide

Leveling focuses on Sunder, frequent weapon replacements, capped resistances, and a gradual transition into Bleeding mechanics. Ground Slam of Earthshaking should not be forced into the build before the character can support its slower attack rhythm and Aggravate requirements.

Act 1

Begin with Splitting Steel, Spectral Throw, or another available physical attack. Link Chance to Bleed and use Iron Rings when they improve damage. After reaching level 12, change to Sunder and equip the strongest two-handed Axe or Mace available. Leap Slam becomes the primary movement skill once it is comfortable to use.

Do not keep a weak weapon because it has useful sockets. The main attack can be moved into Body Armour, Gloves, or another temporary item while campaign weapons are replaced.

Act 2

Add Blood and Sand and remain in Blood Stance when more damage is required. Begin taking Life, two-handed damage, Axe, and Bleeding passives, but do not rush distant Damage over Time nodes while the weapon remains weak. Help Alira if the resistance reward is needed; otherwise take Eramir.

Acts 3 and 4

Add Melee Physical Damage, Pride, Vulnerability, Brutality, and Fist of War as they become available. Complete the Normal Labyrinth and take Bane of Legends. A four-link Sunder with an updated weapon is sufficient for the campaign, while a fifth link should normally add Fortify.

Test reservation after every new aura. Pride is powerful, but a failed Sunder or Leap Slam during a boss encounter is more dangerous than temporarily running one fewer reservation skill.

Acts 5 to 7

Repair elemental resistances after the Act 5 penalty and complete the Cruel Labyrinth for Headsman. Take Resolute Technique when accuracy becomes unreliable. Begin building dependable Life Leech, Fortification, Armour, Endurance Charges, and Bleed Chance.

Acts 8 to 10

Continue upgrading the weapon and prepare equipment for the final resistance penalty. Complete the Merciless Labyrinth for Brutal Fervour when the character can do so safely. Before Act 10 Kitava, obtain a usable Life Flask, Granite Flask, movement speed on Boots, and enough unreserved Mana for Sunder, movement, Vulnerability, and Rallying Cry.

Early Maps

Continue using Sunder until Ground Slam of Earthshaking, a strong physical Axe, reliable Bleed Chance, the Aggravate Mastery, and the intended support links are available. Add Static Strike only when Aggravate becomes relevant against map bosses. Vaal Ground Slam can be introduced as soon as the gem and spare sockets are available.

Red Maps

Complete the Eternal Labyrinth and choose Impact or Endless Hunger. Improve Chaos Resistance, acquire a six-link, solve Mana Cost Efficiency, and begin searching for the permanent two-handed Axe. Ryslatha’s Coil should be added only after removing the rare Belt does not break Life or resistance requirements.

Two-Handed Axe Progression and Equipment Priorities

The weapon is the most important damage slot because both the Ground Slam hit and the resulting bleed scale from its physical damage. Compare physical DPS, maximum physical damage, Attack Speed, and relevant Damage over Time modifiers rather than total DPS that includes elemental damage disabled by Brutality.

Campaign Weapon

Pick up current-level two-handed Axe and Mace bases and compare their physical damage. Use Essences of Contempt to add Physical Damage or use an appropriate physical weapon vendor recipe when the required items are available. Complete a usable weapon with crafted increased Physical Damage or Attack Speed at the Crafting Bench.

Early Map Weapon

Purchase or craft a rare two-handed Axe with strong flat Physical Damage, increased Physical Damage, and usable Attack Speed. A moderate weapon with three relevant modifiers is normally better than a Unique weapon whose damage type or mechanics conflict with Brutality.

Midgame Weapon

A Sundering Axe is a practical midgame base. Start with a fractured physical modifier when affordable, then use Essences, Harvest Physical crafts, or Betrayal modifiers to obtain another strong physical prefix. Finish an open suffix with Attack Speed or physical Damage over Time Multiplier according to the item’s remaining affixes.

Endgame Weapon

A Vaal Axe with high-tier flat Physical Damage, percentage Physical Damage, hybrid Physical Damage, Attack Speed, and physical Damage over Time Multiplier is the primary rare endgame target. Recombination can combine strong physical prefixes, but its result is probabilistic and should not be presented as a guaranteed craft. Check the cost of continuing against the price of a finished weapon before spending expensive crafting materials.

Use the official Path of Exile Trade site to compare weapons by their physical damage and relevant Bleeding modifiers. Do not search only for total weapon DPS because elemental prefixes do not benefit the Brutality-linked main skill.

Ryslatha’s Coil and Optional Uniques

Ryslatha’s Coil is the defining late-game Belt because its maximum Attack Damage modifier can produce substantially stronger bleeds. The maximum-damage roll is more important than the minimum-damage roll, and Abrasive Catalysts improve the relevant attack modifiers. The Belt also makes low rolls weaker, so avoid combining it with Volatility for routine mapping unless the build already has enough base damage to kill packs consistently.

  • The Writhing Jar: Creates enemies that can be hit to establish leech and Fortification before a boss becomes targetable.
  • Death Rush: A mapping-focused Ring that can improve speed before a stronger rare Ring is required.
  • The Light of Meaning: The Physical Damage version can provide a powerful late damage increase in a suitable Jewel Socket.
  • Redblade Banner: An optional weapon-swap tool for preparing Endurance Charges with Enduring Cry.
  • Watcher’s Eye: Pride modifiers can provide a high-budget upgrade after basic defenses are complete.

Jewels, Cluster Jewels, and Anointments

Regular Jewels should begin with Maximum Life and then add physical damage, damage over time, Bleeding Damage, Attack Speed with Axes, resistances, attributes, or Mana Cost Efficiency. Obtain Corrupted Blood immunity through a Jewel corruption, Protection Mastery, Flask, or another permanent source.

Medium Physical Damage over Time Cluster Jewels can use Rend with Wound Aggravation, Flow of Life, Circling Oblivion, or Wasting Affliction. Large Axe or Sword Cluster Jewels can use Fuel the Fight, Feed the Fury, and Martial Prowess. Do not add a Cluster Jewel when the passive points required to reach it remove more Life and damage than the Cluster provides.

Hatchet Master is a practical early or midgame anointment. Inveterate is useful when the final version is building toward capped Spell Suppression. Martial Experience, Relentless, Cloth and Chain, Sentinel, or Quickstep can be used as inexpensive temporary options depending on available oils and current weaknesses.

Flasks, Slayer Defenses, and Dangerous Map Mods

The defensive package combines Life, Armour, Fortification, Endurance Charges, overleech, capped elemental resistances, positive Chaos Resistance, ailment protection, and optional Spell Suppression. No single layer should be treated as complete damage immunity.

Recommended Flask Setup

  • Divine Life Flask: Use instant or fast recovery with Bleeding protection until permanent immunity is available.
  • Quicksilver Flask: Improves campaign and mapping movement.
  • Granite Flask: Adds Armour that scales with the character’s Armour increases.
  • Elemental Resistance Flask: Use Ruby, Sapphire, or Topaz according to the encounter.
  • Flexible Flask: Use Silver, Amethyst, Basalt, or another defensive Flask according to current equipment.

A tincture can improve boss damage, but Mana Burn must be monitored. Disable the tincture before the increasing resource drain prevents Ground Slam, Leap Slam, Vulnerability, or Rallying Cry from being used.

How Slayer Defenses Work

Brutal Fervour prevents Life Leech effects from being removed when unreserved Life becomes full and grants reduced damage taken while leeching. This creates overleech, but the protection can expire during a long boss invulnerability phase or when a Map prevents leech. Attack before committing to a dangerous position so leech and Fortification are already active.

Armour is effective against repeated physical hits but becomes less efficient against exceptionally large individual hits. Combine it with Fortification, Endurance Charges, additional physical damage reduction, physical damage taken as elemental, and Molten Shell. Spell Suppression or increased maximum elemental resistances become valuable endgame layers against large spell hits.

Around 4,500 Life is a reasonable starting target for ordinary red Maps, not a universal guarantee of safety. A character without Spell Suppression, maximum resistance, Chaos Resistance, or physical conversion needs more Life and more careful positioning than a completed defensive version.

Ailment Protection

  • Use Soul of the Brine King or equipment to solve Freeze.
  • Reduce Shock Effect through a Flask, Pantheon, Boots, or full ailment avoidance.
  • Use a Life Flask, Protection Mastery, or corrupted Jewel against Corrupted Blood.
  • Use Endless Hunger or another reliable source to prevent personal Bleeding from becoming lethal.
  • Build positive Chaos Resistance and use Soul of Shakari when Poison remains dangerous.

Dangerous Map Modifiers

Map ModifierRecommendation
Monsters cannot be Leeched fromReroll because it removes the primary recovery system and Brutal Fervour protection
Monsters have a chance to avoid BleedingReroll at high values because damage becomes inconsistent
Players have less Life Recovery RateDangerous during progression, especially with additional damage modifiers
Physical Damage ReflectionSafe after allocating Bane of Legends; unsafe before the Ascendancy
Elemental Damage ReflectionThe Brutality-linked main skill is safe, but secondary attacks and temporary elemental damage must be checked
No RegenerationPossible with leech and correct Mana sustain, but test movement and utility costs
Reduced Flask ChargesManageable but weakens defensive Flask and tincture uptime
Monsters Block AttacksUse the appropriate Attack Mastery for Expedition or other block-heavy content
Reduced Maximum ResistancesDangerous when combined with extra elemental damage or reduced recovery

Early currency should remove progression blockers before it is spent on luxury damage. Weapon damage, capped resistances, Life, links, and Mana sustain normally provide more useful progress than an expensive Unique added to an incomplete character.

Recommended Upgrade Order

  1. Cap Fire, Cold, and Lightning Resistances after the Act 10 penalty.
  2. Replace the campaign weapon with a stronger physical rare Axe.
  3. Obtain a five-link for Sunder or Ground Slam of Earthshaking.
  4. Fix Life, Movement Speed, Flask modifiers, and Mana sustain.
  5. Complete the missing Labyrinths.
  6. Reach reliable Bleed Chance and allocate the Aggravate Mastery.
  7. Acquire Vaal Ground Slam and the Static Strike utility setup.
  8. Upgrade to a six-link without destroying the defenses on other equipment.
  9. Improve Chaos Resistance and protection from dangerous ailments.
  10. Craft or purchase the permanent physical Axe.
  11. Add Ryslatha’s Coil after the rare Belt is no longer needed for resistances.
  12. Improve gem levels and Quality using the new matching-socket bonus where practical.
  13. Add Cluster Jewels, Watcher’s Eye, Spell Suppression, and expensive implicits last.

Players who need the weapon, passive tree, gems, recovery, and defenses adjusted around a particular budget can use a custom Path of Exile build. Any tailored version should preserve reliable Bleed Chance, Aggravate, Mana sustain, overleech, and enough defenses to remain in melee range.

Common Bleed Ground Slam Mistakes

  • Switching from Sunder before obtaining Ground Slam of Earthshaking and reliable Bleed Chance.
  • Assuming the first hit automatically aggravates the bleed it applies.
  • Removing Chance to Bleed Support before the remaining setup provides dependable Bleed Chance.
  • Stacking Attack Speed while neglecting maximum physical weapon damage.
  • Using a high total DPS weapon whose damage comes mainly from elemental prefixes disabled by Brutality.
  • Combining Ryslatha’s Coil and Volatility for mapping without enough damage to survive low rolls.
  • Using Impact for its proximity damage even though that bonus does not scale Ground Slam’s area damage.
  • Expecting a Bleeding Damage tick to activate Headsman without another hit.
  • Entering a boss encounter without an active Life Leech instance or Fortification.
  • Using every Vaal Ground Slam charge on one pack and having no circular coverage for the next encounter.
  • Activating too many reservation skills and leaving insufficient Mana for the full boss rotation.
  • Following an older Ring or Helmet recommendation that uses removed reduced Mana Cost modifiers.
  • Stacking Armour while neglecting elemental resistances, Chaos Resistance, ailments, and recovery.
  • Running Cannot Leech or high Bleed Avoidance Maps without checking their effect on the build.

When to Invest in the Endgame Version

Invest after Ground Slam of Earthshaking feels comfortable, bosses are consistently bleeding and aggravated, and the character can maintain leech, Fortification, Endurance Charges, and Mana throughout the complete rotation. An expensive Belt or Cluster Jewel cannot correct a weak Axe, missed attacks before Resolute Technique, unreliable Bleed Chance, or a Mana pool that cannot support movement.

The first large purchase should normally be the physical Axe or a defensive six-link Body Armour, depending on which slot currently limits progression. Ryslatha’s Coil, premium Jewels, advanced Cluster Jewels, expensive Flasks, and specialised implicits belong after the basic character can survive red Maps without relying on temporary damage buffs.

Final Bleed Ground Slam Slayer Recommendations

Level with Sunder, use a two-handed physical Axe, and switch to Ground Slam of Earthshaking only after obtaining the transfigured gem, reliable Bleed Chance, Aggravate, and sufficient defenses. Use Vaal Ground Slam for circular coverage, Static Strike to help aggravate existing bleeds, Rallying Cry before bosses, and Resolute Technique to remove accuracy problems.

Prioritise the weapon, capped resistances, Life, Armour, Fortification, overleech, Endurance Charges, Mana Cost Efficiency, and ailment protection before optional damage upgrades. Add Ryslatha’s Coil after the rare Belt is no longer required for basic defenses, and reserve Volatility for situations where repeated attacks can replace weak bleed rolls.

Bleed Ground Slam Slayer is a strong PoE 3.29 choice for players who enjoy deliberate melee attacks, persistent boss damage, visible equipment progression, and layered recovery. It is not a fully automatic mapper, but its combination of wide Slam coverage, aggravated bleeding, Slayer overleech, and practical rare-item progression supports the character from a fresh campaign into heavily invested endgame content.
