Who Is Jason Duval?
Jason grew up around criminals and grifters. Rockstar says he joined the Army after a troubled adolescence, but eventually returned to crime and began working for local drug runners in the Leonida Keys.
Brian Heder is an important part of Jason's starting situation. Brian lets Jason stay rent-free at one of his properties in exchange for helping with local shakedowns. Cal Hampton is Jason's friend and another associate of Brian.
This places Jason inside an existing criminal network before the larger conspiracy begins. He is not entering Leonida's underworld from zero.
Who Is Lucia Caminos?
Lucia's father taught her to fight from an early age. Rockstar says fighting for her family eventually landed her in Leonida Penitentiary.
After getting out, Lucia wants the kind of better life her mother dreamed about since their time in Liberty City. Rockstar presents her as someone prepared to make deliberate moves to change her circumstances.
What Rockstar has not confirmed is the complete sequence that led to her arrest, how long she served, or exactly where her relationship with Jason began.
Are Jason and Lucia a Couple?
Rockstar clearly presents Jason and Lucia as both a personal and criminal partnership, and official footage shows romantic intimacy between them. Their relationship is central to the story: both official character profiles frame the other person as potentially changing their future.
However, Rockstar has not published a complete relationship history. We do not yet know exactly when they met, whether they were together before Lucia's imprisonment, or how their relationship changes over the full story.
Is GTA 6 a Bonnie and Clyde Story?

The missing piece is intentional: Rockstar has not explained how every one of these circles feeds into the Leonida-wide conspiracy. That remains one of the largest unanswered story questions.
What Did the 2026 Extended Look Add to the Story?
The August 27 Extended Look was important because it moved GTA 6 beyond character bios and cinematic trailers. Rockstar says the presentation was captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5.
The footage shows Jason and Lucia during criminal jobs, police escapes and quieter domestic moments. It also establishes direct on-screen contact with characters including Brian Heder and Raul Bautista.
However, the presentation is edited as a showcase rather than a published mission list.
Do not assume the scenes are shown in final chronological order. Rockstar has not released official mission names, chapter placement or the complete chain linking those jobs to the central conspiracy.
Does GTA 6 Have Chapters?
There is now official evidence of chapter-based progression. The description of the GTA VI Ultimate Edition says its additional items become available across Jason and Lucia's story, with new items uncovered as chapters progress.
That wording indicates chapters exist in some form. What remains unknown is:
- how many chapters GTA 6 has;
- their names;
- whether every chapter changes the playable area or timeline;
- whether the story contains an epilogue;
