Forgotten Commander is a Level 45 Asmodian Episode quest in AION 2. The part that confuses most players comes at the end, when the story sends you through the Abyss Portal and asks you to talk to Koro at the Abyss Base.
The important requirement is 1,000 Item Level. Once you finish the Altgard objectives and reach that threshold, enter the Abyss and turn the quest in to Koro in Chaotic Lower Reshanta.
Quick answer: Forgotten Commander starts with Menrik in Altgard. Complete the four Draupnir/Abyss Portal objectives, reach 1,000 Item Level, enter Chaotic Lower Reshanta and talk to Koro at the Asmodian Abyss Base. Koro is not waiting back in Altgard.

How to Complete Forgotten Commander
The quest contains four main objectives before the final hand-in to Koro.
1. Talk to Kiara at the Draupnir Entrance
After accepting Forgotten Commander from Menrik, follow the Episode quest to the Draupnir Entrance and speak with Kiara.
The Fang Legion is investigating reports that the Bakarma Brigade has appeared beyond a strange portal connected to Draupnir.
2. Investigate Draupnir
Proceed to the marked Draupnir objective and complete the investigation.
You do not need to search the entire open world for Koro at this stage. The quest remains in the Draupnir section until the investigation objective is complete.
3. Return to Kiara
After investigating Draupnir, return to Kiara and report what you found.
This advances the Episode toward the Abyss Portal objective.
4. Talk to Ivar at the Abyss Portal
Your next objective is to receive a briefing from Ivar in front of the Abyss Portal.
Complete this dialogue before trying to search for Koro. If Ivar's step is still active, you have not yet reached the Koro hand-in stage.
Where Is Koro at the Abyss Base?
Koro is in Chaotic Lower Reshanta, not in Altgard.
After completing Ivar's objective, use the Abyss Portal and enter the Asmodian side of Chaotic Lower Reshanta. The Asmodian base is Latesran Eastern Root, the eastern faction camp in the Abyss.
Koro belongs to the Black Cloud Merchants and is the NPC who completes Forgotten Commander.
If you are standing around Draupnir or Fang Hideout looking for Koro, you are still on the wrong map.

Why Can't I Enter the Abyss Base?
The most common reason is your Item Level.
Latesran Eastern Root requires 1,000 Item Level. Character Level 45 alone is not enough.
If your Item Level is below 1,000, work on the fastest available permanent and equipment upgrades before returning to the portal:
- equip your strongest Level 45 story gear;
- finish useful Regional quests;
- clear Sealed Dungeons for progression rewards;
- spend available Daevanion Crystals;
- use appropriate Clash Runes;
- enhance equipment you expect to keep;
- complete permanent character progression you skipped while leveling.

Forgotten Commander Stuck: What to Check
If the quest appears stuck, check these in order:
- Make sure you are Asmodian. Forgotten Commander is not the Elyos version of the story.
- Reach Level 45.
- Complete Farewells. It is the previous Episode quest.
- Finish the Draupnir investigation.
- Talk to Kiara after the investigation.
- Talk to Ivar at the Abyss Portal.
- Reach 1,000 Item Level.
- Enter Chaotic Lower Reshanta.
- Look for Koro at the Asmodian Abyss Base, not in Altgard.
If the quest navigation no longer points clearly to the portal: re-track Forgotten Commander and return to the Draupnir / Impetusium story area in Altgard where you spoke to Ivar.

Forgotten Commander Quest Chain
The relevant Level 45 Asmodian story sequence is:
Farewells → Forgotten Commander → Daeva Trapped in a Nightmare → Waiting for the Next Journey.
Completing Forgotten Commander therefore does not finish your Level 45 story. It immediately leads into Daeva Trapped in a Nightmare.
Is Forgotten Commander an Elyos Quest?
No. Forgotten Commander is specifically part of the Asmodian Chapter 6 storyline.
Elyos characters follow their own Level 45 Episode chain. If you are Elyos and are trying to reach the Abyss, do not search for Menrik or expect Forgotten Commander to appear in your quest journal.

What to Do After Talking to Koro
After the Koro hand-in, continue the Episode chain rather than immediately abandoning the story for open-world farming.
Your next quest is Daeva Trapped in a Nightmare. From this point, the game also starts pushing you deeper into Level 45 systems and Abyss progression.

Once Koro accepts the quest, continue directly into Daeva Trapped in a Nightmare and the rest of your Level 45 progression.
