AION 2 Max Level & Endgame Guide: What to Do at Level 45

AION 2 Max Level & Endgame Guide: What to Do at Level 45

The current AION 2 Global level cap is Level 45. Reaching 45 does not mean your character is finished. It is the point where progression shifts away from character levels and toward Gear Score, Combat Power, dungeons, permanent character systems, the Abyss, Transcendence and eventually raid content.

Your first goal at max level is not to farm everything at once. Finish the remaining story progression, push through the first Item Level gates and unlock the activities that start generating meaningful endgame upgrades.

What should you do at Level 45? Finish the main story, reach roughly 1,000 Gear Score to enter the Abyss, clear permanent map progression, then push toward 1,400 for the next important Expedition tier. After that, progress through 1,600 Transcendence, 2,100 Conquest and eventually the 2,800 raid threshold.

What Is the Max Level in AION 2?

Level 45 is the current character level cap for AION 2 Global at launch.

Once you reach 45, normal character leveling stops. Your progression continues through other systems:

  • Gear Score / total Item Level;
  • Combat Power;
  • equipment enhancement;
  • Daevanion Boards;
  • Stigmas and skill progression;
  • Monoliths and Empyrean Traces;
  • Arcana;
  • Abyss and PvP progression;
  • crafting;
  • pets, wings, collections and other permanent systems.

Level 45 is the launch cap, not a promise that the level cap can never increase in a future content update.

Gear Score vs Combat Power at Level 45

These two numbers become especially important once your character reaches max level.

StatWhat It MeansWhy It Matters
Gear Score / Item LevelYour total equipment Item LevelUsed as an entry requirement for many endgame activities
Combat PowerA broader measurement of your character's overall powerReflects gear plus permanent systems, skills and other character bonuses

For early endgame progression, Gear Score is usually the first number you need to solve because content is directly locked behind Item Level requirements.

For a full slot-by-slot gearing path, use our AION 2 Gear Progression Guide. This page focuses on what you should actually do after reaching 45.

What to Do First at Level 45

If you just reached max level, use this order:

  1. Finish the remaining main story.
  2. Get your Gear Score to 1,000.
  3. Enter the Abyss and finish the progression connected to the story.
  4. Clear important side quests, Sealed Dungeons and map progression.
  5. Upgrade your permanent Belt and Revelation Amulet progression.
  6. Collect missing Daevanion points and Empyrean Traces.
  7. Push toward 1,400 Gear Score.
  8. Start spending limited endgame resources on content that still provides meaningful upgrades.

This route is more efficient than immediately farming the first dungeon you can enter over and over.

2,500Transcendence Stage 4 and highest early Ascension Trial bracketPrepare for raid entry
2,800Abyssal Forge: Ludra10-player raid progression

2,800 is not the maximum Gear Score. It is an important raid entry threshold. Character power continues to increase through higher Item Level gear, enhancement and permanent progression systems.

Step 1: Finish the Main Story

Do not hit 45 and immediately abandon the story.

The final launch progression provides important equipment and unlocks that remain relevant after leveling. Your story and Ascension progression can provide key items such as a Unique weapon, guard and bracelet.

If you are below 1,000 Gear Score when the story sends you toward the Abyss, use side progression to close the gap rather than assuming your character is stuck.

Step 2: Reach 1,000 Gear Score

1,000 is the first important max-level threshold.

It opens the Abyss entry path and gives you access to another major branch of progression.

If you are short of 1,000, useful sources include:

  • story equipment;
  • green side quests;
  • Sealed Dungeons;
  • quest accessories;
  • Clash Runes;
  • Belt and Revelation Amulet upgrades;
  • reasonable enhancement of pieces you expect to keep.

Do not pour large amounts of resources into temporary leveling gear just to gain a few points.

Step 3: Do Your Permanent Map Progression

AION 2's map contains progression that remains valuable after the leveling race is over.

Important activities include:

  • green regional quests for progression rewards;
  • Sealed Dungeons for skill and Daevanion progression;
  • Strongholds and map objectives;
  • Empyrean Traces for Monolith progression;
  • permanent accessory and character-system upgrades.

These activities may look less exciting than an endgame dungeon, but they can increase both Gear Score and long-term Combat Power.

For the collectible side, see our AION 2 Empyrean Traces & Feathers Guide.

Step 4: Push to 1,400 Gear Score

Once the first story and permanent upgrades are complete, 1,400 is the next major target.

This opens the Item Level 70 Expedition bracket:

  • Urugugu Canyon for weapons and accessories;
  • Vakron Sky Island for the paired armor progression.

This is why blindly spending all of your limited Odyle Energy in the lowest Conquest tier can be inefficient.

Efficient approach: if your story, map completion and permanent upgrades can get you close to 1,400 without spending much Odyle Energy, save more of that Energy for the stronger 1,400 reward pool. If you are genuinely blocked, spend only what you need to break the Gear Score wall.

Step 5: Start Transcendence at 1,600

At 1,600 Gear Score, Transcendence starts becoming part of your regular endgame schedule.

The main launch Transcendence dungeons include:

  • Deus Research Base;
  • Shattered Arkanis.

Transcendence is particularly important because it connects directly to Arcana progression.

The early thresholds are:

  • Stage 1 — 1,600;
  • Stage 2 — 1,900;
  • Stage 3 — 2,200;
  • Stage 4 — 2,500.

See the complete mechanics in our AION 2 Transcendence Dungeons Guide and AION 2 Arcana Guide.

Step 6: Reach 2,100 and Farm the Next Conquest Tier

At 2,100, the next important Expedition pair opens:

  • Fire Temple;
  • Ferocious Horn Den.

This tier provides Item Level 86 Unique progression.

As with earlier dungeons, farm according to the slot you need rather than automatically repeating one instance.

Our AION 2 Dungeons Guide shows which paired dungeon supplies armor versus weapons and accessories.

Step 7: Prepare for the 2,800 Raid Threshold

Your first major raid target is Abyssal Forge: Ludra, a 10-player Sanctuary encounter with a 2,800 entry requirement in the current Global progression data.

Do not try to jump directly from fresh Level 45 gear to 2,800.

The intended progression passes through:

story → permanent map progression → Conquest → Transcendence → stronger Conquest → raid preparation.

What Endgame Content Is Available at Level 45?

AION 2 Daily Priorities at Level 45

You do not need to finish every possible activity every day. Prioritize resources that can overflow or that directly block your next progression target.

  1. Complete useful Duties.
  2. Spend Transcendence rewards before the counter reaches its low storage cap.
  3. Use Conquest rewards where the loot pool still contains upgrades.
  4. Progress Nightmare when appropriate for your power.
  5. Use your Odyle Energy intelligently rather than opening every available cube.
  6. Do limited-time events if their rewards matter to your current character.

Current client data allows Conquest and Nightmare counters to bank more charges than Transcendence, so Transcendence is the activity you should be especially careful not to leave capped for too long.

AION 2 Weekly Priorities

Weekly progression includes activities such as:

  • Sanctuary raid attempts;
  • Ascension Trial entries;
  • Subjugation;
  • Abyss time allocation;
  • weekly-reset progression systems;
  • any event or seasonal content active that week.

Many weekly counters reset on Wednesday. Check your live counter before reset rather than relying only on memory.

Known Level 45 Duty Bug

If Duties are missing after you reach Level 45: NC has acknowledged an issue where opening the Duty tab before Level 45 can cause Duties not to become available until the following day.

If you have not reached 45 yet, avoid opening that tab early while the issue remains unresolved.

PvE Endgame Path

If your main goal is PvE, prioritize:

  1. finish story;
  2. reach 1,000 and complete permanent map systems;
  3. reach 1,400 Conquest;
  4. begin Transcendence at 1,600;
  5. push to 2,100 Conquest;
  6. progress Arcana, Daevanion, Stigmas and enhancement alongside gear;
  7. prepare for the 2,800 raid threshold.

PvP Endgame Path

If your main goal is PvP:

  1. reach Level 45 and 1,000 Gear Score;
  2. unlock the Abyss;
  3. begin earning Abyss Points;
  4. progress PvP-oriented gear and Potential;
  5. work on Azphel Daevanion progression;
  6. continue enough PvE to avoid falling behind in general Combat Power.

See our AION 2 Abyss Guide for AP, artifacts and PvP gearing.

Permanent Progression You Should Not Ignore

Gear is only one part of AION 2 endgame.

SystemWhy It Matters
Daevanion BoardSkill levels and permanent combat stats
MonolithPermanent stats and character progression
StigmasMajor build-defining skill choices
ArcanaLong-term combat progression
Revelation AmuletPermanent accessory progression
Noble BeltLong-term equipment progression
Wings / Pets / CollectionsAdditional Combat Power over time

Common Level 45 Mistakes

  • Thinking leveling is finished, so progression is finished. Level 45 is where the real gear and permanent-system grind begins.
  • Enhancing temporary gear too aggressively. Save expensive resources for pieces you expect to keep.
  • Spending every Odyle Energy cube immediately. A later reward bracket may be much more valuable.
  • Ignoring side quests and Sealed Dungeons. Permanent progression can be more valuable than another low-tier gear drop.
  • Confusing Gear Score with Combat Power. They measure different things.
  • Trying to raise only Gear Score. Daevanion, Stigmas, Arcana and other systems matter increasingly as you advance.
  • Trying to complete every daily activity. Prioritize capped resources and upgrades that solve your current bottleneck.

How Long Does It Take to Reach Level 45?

Experienced players rushing the main story have reported reaching 45 in roughly 3–5 hours, while a first playthrough usually takes longer because of exploration, systems, cutscenes and side content.

If you have not reached max level yet, use our AION 2 Leveling Guide. That page owns the 1–45 leveling route; this guide begins where leveling ends.

AION 2 Max Level FAQ

What is the max level in AION 2 Global?

The launch character level cap is Level 45.

What should I do immediately after reaching Level 45?

Finish the main story, reach 1,000 Gear Score, unlock the Abyss and complete permanent map progression before pushing toward the 1,400 dungeon tier.

Is 2,800 the maximum Gear Score?

No. 2,800 is an important raid entry threshold, not the maximum possible character power.

What is the first important Gear Score target?

1,000 because it unlocks the Abyss progression path. After that, 1,400 is the next major PvE gearing breakpoint.

What is the first raid in the endgame path?

Abyssal Forge: Ludra is the first major 10-player Sanctuary target in the current progression data, requiring 2,800 total Item Level.

Will the max level always remain 45?

45 is the Global launch cap. Future updates can increase the cap or extend progression.

Conclusion

Reaching Level 45 is the start of AION 2 endgame, not the finish line. Your immediate priorities should be finishing the story, reaching 1,000 Gear Score, completing permanent map progression and pushing efficiently toward the 1,400 tier.

From there, follow the major progression gates: 1,600 Transcendence → 2,100 Conquest → 2,500 advanced Transcendence → 2,800 raid entry, while developing Daevanion, Stigmas, Arcana, Monoliths and the rest of your permanent character power.
