A Legion is AION 2's guild system. It gives you a permanent community for PvE, PvP, recruitment and long-term progression instead of relying only on temporary parties and matchmaking.
Global Legions can progress through 20 Legion levels, support up to 128 members with four officer slots, and provide passive bonuses that increase as the Legion levels. Legions can also use systems such as a Legion Hall and shared storage.
Short answer: unlock the Legion system during the level-16 portion of the main story, then either apply to an existing Legion or create your own. For most players, joining an active Legion that matches your server, faction, language and play schedule is better than immediately creating a new one.

How to Unlock the Legion System
The Legion feature unlocks through the early main story.

The quests themselves become available earlier in the story chain, but most characters reach the Legion unlock around the level-16 part of normal progression.
If the Legion menu appears unavailable: continue your faction's main story before looking for a separate Legion NPC or endgame unlock. You do not need to reach Level 45 first.

Once the system is unlocked:
- Open the Legion interface.
- Browse available Legions or search for the Legion name you were given.
- Read its recruitment description and requirements.
- Check that the Legion is on your correct faction and home server.

How to Create a Legion
If you want to lead your own guild, use the create option after the Legion system is unlocked.
- Unlock Legions through your faction story.
- Open the Legion menu.
- Select the option to create a new Legion.
- Choose your Legion name.
- Set recruitment and application rules.
- Add a clear introduction describing your language, time zone and focus.
- Review the creation fee shown by the current Global client.
- Confirm creation and begin recruiting.
Creation cost: Global-client and regional reference data contain a 100,000 Kina Legion creation cost, but use the amount displayed in your live creation screen as the final authority if NC changes it.
How Many Players Can Join a Legion?
AION 2 Global client data lists a maximum of 128 members.
The cap does not increase as the Legion levels. The same data lists four officer positions alongside the Legion leader.

How Legion Levels Work
Legions gain Legion EXP and progress from Level 1 to Level 20.
The Global client lists 767,500 cumulative Legion EXP at Level 20.
Higher levels gradually improve the passive bonuses given to Legion members.

What Benefits Does a Legion Give?
There are two types of benefit: system bonuses and community benefits.
Passive Legion Bonuses
The Global client lists seven passive stat categories across Legion progression:
- EXP Gain Increase;
- HP;
- MP;
- Evasion Bonus;
- Accuracy Bonus;
- Attack Bonus;
- Defense Bonus.
These bonuses are useful, but they are not large enough to justify joining a dead Legion solely for stats.
Community Benefits
An active Legion can be much more valuable because it gives you:
- regular dungeon teammates;
- organized Abyss groups;
- scheduled PvE and PvP events;
- players who can explain mechanics;
- voice communication;
- recruitment for harder group content;
- a consistent social group on your server.
What Is the Legion Hall?
AION 2 contains a dedicated Legion Hall system.
Global-client data lists four Hall options with a recorded rental cost of 1,000,000 Kina for 30 days.
The Hall acts as the Legion's shared base. Client and regional-reference data include facilities such as:
- crafting workbenches;
- crafting merchants;
- storage access;
- Material Conversion services;
- training facilities;
- decorations.
The client also contains decoration slots and numerous Artwork, Statue and Colossus entries connected to Legion Hall progression.
A Hall is optional. A small group does not need to spend heavily on its base before it has an active roster and stable income.
How Legion Storage Works
Global-client records contain shared Legion Storage.
The recorded system starts with 20 slots and contains 31 expansions of 10 slots each, producing a potential maximum of 330 slots.
Expansion prices rise as more storage is purchased.
Permission records also allow different Legion ranks to control who can deposit or withdraw items.
Leadership rule: restrict withdrawal rights to trusted members. Shared storage becomes a security problem very quickly if every newly recruited player has unrestricted access.
Can Elyos and Asmodians Join the Same Legion?
Not as one normal in-game Legion. Elyos and Asmodians live on separate faction servers.

Can You Transfer a Legion to Another Faction?
Do not plan around using server transfers to change faction.
NC's announced server-transfer system begins on October 14 and initially allows transfers only between eligible servers of the same faction.
That means a Legion community should make its faction decision before recruiting heavily.
Do You Need a Legion for Dungeons?
No. Legion membership is not a universal requirement for normal Expedition content.
AION 2 also supports cross-server instanced content, so dungeon matchmaking is not limited to your Legion roster.
A Legion is still useful for coordinated progression because familiar players usually make harder content more consistent.

“128 members” should not be your first goal. A core of 15–30 consistently active players is usually more useful than filling the roster with people who disappear after launch week.
