The best ARC Raiders skill tree is not a single universal preset: Mobility is the mandatory early investment for every Raider, then you should commit the rest of your points to Survival for solo extraction value or Conditioning for coordinated squad fights. Start with Nimble Climber, Marathon Runner, and Youthful Lungs to reach 15 Mobility points, then build toward the capstones that match how you actually play. As of Live Update 1.39.0, released July 28, 2026, Embark has not listed skill-tree balance changes, so the current value priorities remain movement, stamina efficiency, loot security, and downed-state utility.
ARC Raiders gives you limited room to experiment. You can earn 76 skill points through leveling, while fully purchasing the tree costs far more than that. The important consequence is simple: do not spread points evenly across all three branches. A focused two-branch build reaches the powerful 36-point gates and gives you tools that meaningfully change how safely you travel, loot, fight, and extract.
ARC Raiders Skill Tree Explained
The skill tree has three branches: Mobility, Conditioning, and Survival. Each branch opens its mid-tier skills at 15 invested points and its capstones at 36 points. Because the point requirements do not always line up perfectly with node ranks, reaching a capstone normally costs slightly more than the stated threshold.
| Branch | Primary role | Best for | High-value payoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mobility | Stamina, rolls, vaults, climbing, traversal | Every build | Reliable escapes and faster rotations |
| Conditioning | Shield handling, breaching, recovery, downed survival | Squad PvP and heavy kits | Better recovery during and after fights |
| Survival | Looting, carry weight, stealth, field crafting | Solo runs and economy-focused raids | Security Locker access and self-sufficiency |
Do not mistake a capstone for an automatic best choice. Security Breach is excellent when you are deliberately farming valuable locked loot, but opening a Security Locker alone is a loud commitment with no teammate watching your flank. Likewise, downed-state skills are far stronger in duos and trios than in true solo raids, where a down normally ends the run.
The Best Early Skill Order for Every Player
Your first goal is 15 points in Mobility. The exact opening is:
- Nimble Climber to unlock the Mobility route and improve climbs and vaults.
- Marathon Runner 5/5 to reduce stamina spent while moving.
- Youthful Lungs 5/5 to increase your maximum stamina.
This opener is the foundation of virtually every strong build. ARC Raiders regularly asks you to sprint between cover, dodge after your shield breaks, climb out of bad sightlines, and rotate away from ARC pressure or other Raiders. Marathon Runner reduces the drain while Youthful Lungs gives you a larger reserve to work with. Together, they improve both aggressive pushes and cautious extracts.
At 15 Mobility points, take Carry The Momentum early. After a sprint dodge roll, it gives you a short window of stamina-free sprinting. Use it to leave an exposed lane, relocate after a trade, or create space before healing. It is not a license to roll constantly; rolling into open ground without cover is still one of the fastest ways to lose a kit.

Best ARC Raiders Skills to Prioritize
Universal priority skills
| Skill | Branch | Main advantage | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marathon Runner | Mobility | Reduces stamina cost while moving | Requires the Nimble Climber route first |
| Youthful Lungs | Mobility | Increases maximum stamina | Does not replace careful stamina management |
| Carry The Momentum | Mobility | Creates a strong repositioning window after a sprint roll | Has a cooldown and requires correct timing |
| Effortless Roll | Mobility | Makes repeated evasive rolls less punishing | More valuable for PvP than quiet loot runs |
| Looter's Instincts | Survival | Reveals container loot faster | Does not improve the quality of every container |
| Loaded Arms | Conditioning | Reduces weapon encumbrance impact | Needs a 15-point Conditioning investment |
Best skills for solo Raiders
- Silent Scavenger: Reduces the noise you make while looting. It is especially useful when you must clear containers without a teammate holding a doorway.
- In-Round Crafting: Lets you field-craft while Topside. This is a practical safety net for solo players who cannot rely on a squadmate’s supplies.
- Traveling Tinkerer: Expands your field-crafting options after In-Round Crafting.
- Broad Shoulders: Raises maximum carry weight, which matters when one successful raid has to fund your progress.
- Stubborn Mule: Helps preserve stamina recovery when you are over-encumbered and trying to extract with a full bag.
- Suffer In Silence: Reduces movement noise while critically hurt, giving you a better chance to disengage rather than forcing a final fight.
Best skills for squads and PvP
- Used To The Weight: Reduces the movement penalty from wearing a shield. Take it if your role regularly uses heavier protection.
- Unburdened Roll: Gives you a stamina-free dodge roll shortly after your shield breaks. It is an emergency escape tool, not a reason to overextend.
- Fight Or Flight: Restores stamina after you are hurt in combat, helping you break contact or reposition through a messy exchange.
- Downed But Determined: Extends the time before you collapse while downed, creating a larger revive window.
- Turtle Crawl: Reduces damage taken while downed. Its value rises sharply when your squad is disciplined enough to hold space for a revive.
- Back On Your Feet: Provides recovery while critically hurt, making it a strong deep-Conditioning target for committed combat teams.
For fight fundamentals that make these skills matter, read our ARC Raiders PvP guide on sound, positioning, and disengaging. A stamina build will not save a squad that re-peeks the same lane, splits too far, or chases a cracked enemy into a third-party angle.
Best Solo Skill Tree Build: Mobility 38 / Survival 38
Recommended for: solo looting, questing, safe extraction, field crafting, and low-commitment PvE.
This is the best all-around solo allocation because it invests in the two things a lone Raider cannot borrow from teammates: an exit plan and self-sufficiency. It deliberately skips Security Breach. The capstone is valuable, but solo players often get more consistent results from quieter looting, stronger movement, and the ability to craft through a bad raid.
Solo build priorities
In Mobility, work from the universal opener into Carry The Momentum, Effortless Roll, Heroic Leap, Calming Stroll, and the Vaults on Vaults on Vaults capstone. Free vaulting matters because it preserves stamina when you move through buildings, over barriers, and toward an extraction route.
In Survival, prioritize Agile Croucher, Looter's Instincts, Silent Scavenger, Revitalizing Squat, In-Round Crafting, Traveling Tinkerer, Broad Shoulders, Looter's Luck, and One Raider's Scraps. These picks reduce time spent vulnerable in containers, improve your ability to leave with more value, and help you stabilize when the raid goes wrong.
How to play the solo build
- Loot edges and smaller points of interest first if your spawn gives you a low-risk route.
- Use crouch movement and Silent Scavenger when entering busy buildings or clearing containers near active combat.
- Keep enough stamina to leave. Do not arrive at a contested extract over-encumbered and exhausted.
- Use Carry The Momentum after a sprint roll to cross a dangerous gap or reset behind a better piece of cover.
- Leave after securing quest items, rare materials, or a high-value item that advances your workshop plan. A full bag is not worth a forced fight.
This build is also a good answer to the current separate solo matchmaking tracking. Since Live Update 1.36.0, Embark tracks Solo, Duo, and Trio playstyles independently; the later 1.39.0 test also stops defensive PvP from affecting your playstyle estimate. That makes it easier to keep a cautious solo approach without your trio habits carrying over into solo matchmaking. See Embark’s official Live Update 1.39.0 notes for the current matchmaking details.
Best Squad PvP Skill Tree Build: Mobility 39 / Conditioning 37
Recommended for: coordinated duos and trios, proactive PvP, heavy shields, revive play, and holding contested objectives.
This is the strongest high-commitment squad build because it takes deep Mobility utility alongside the Conditioning tools that keep you alive long enough for teammates to trade, revive, or reset. The tradeoff is clear: you give up most Survival economy perks and Security Locker access. Run it when your squad intends to fight over valuable areas rather than avoid contact.
Mobility targets
Reach both Mobility capstones: Vaults on Vaults on Vaults and Vault Spring. Pair them with Carry The Momentum, Effortless Roll, Heroic Leap, and the required traversal route. This setup lets a coordinated team use vertical geometry more aggressively: one player anchors an angle while another vaults or climbs into a new pressure line.
Conditioning targets
Build toward Back On Your Feet, taking Used To The Weight, Fight Or Flight, Survivor's Stamina, Downed But Determined, and Turtle Crawl along the route. Add Unburdened Roll whenever the path allows. If your squad runs heavy weapons, Loaded Arms is an excellent alternative utility target, but do not sacrifice the core recovery and downed-state package merely to carry more gear.
Squad role rule
Not every teammate needs the same skill tree. A practical trio can use one deep-Conditioning player as the shielded anchor, one Mobility-heavy flanker, and one Survival-oriented looter or breacher. Agree on who holds the safe revive lane before firing. Downed skills only pay off if another Raider is positioned to use the extra time.
When you are hunting elite ARC or boss-tier targets, combine this build with a clear reset lane and strict add control. Our ARC Raiders Boss and Elite guide explains how to choose an approach lane, manage pressure spikes, and extract before a long fight turns into a third-party disaster.
Best Loot and Security Breach Build: Survival 39 / Mobility 37
Recommended for: valuable container routes, Security Lockers, field crafting, and players focused on blueprints, workshop materials, and stash growth.
Take this build when loot throughput is the objective. Survival reaches both capstones: Security Breach allows you to breach Security Lockers, while Minesweeper lets you defuse nearby mines and explosive deployables. Mobility still reaches Vaults on Vaults on Vaults, so your route does not collapse when you need to cross vertical terrain or escape with a full inventory.
Your Survival priorities are Looter's Instincts, Silent Scavenger, In-Round Crafting, Traveling Tinkerer, Broad Shoulders, Stubborn Mule, Looter's Luck, and One Raider's Scraps. The result is not a PvP dueling build. It is a value-extraction build designed to reduce wasted time in containers and turn successful raids into more carryable loot.
Security Breach is strongest when:
- You have a known route that can reach locked areas without crossing several active fights.
- Your squad can hold entrances and listen for approaching Raiders.
- You have enough healing, ammunition, and time to leave after the breach.
- The map condition, spawn, and nearby ARC activity do not force you into a loud, extended commitment.
Do not force a Security Locker just because you have the skill. If another team is already fighting nearby, a locker can turn into a trap. Take the safer value, rotate toward extraction, and preserve the kit that enables your next run. For current ARC threats and the Close Scrutiny environment, see our ARC Raiders Flashpoint update guide.
Skills That Are Strong but Situational
| Skill | When to take it | When to skip it |
|---|---|---|
| Security Breach | You regularly run high-value locked loot routes with cover or squad support | You mainly play solo stealth or fast quest runs |
| Minesweeper | You encounter trapped routes, locked rooms, and defensive deployables often | Your raids rarely involve player-built traps |
| Downed But Determined / Turtle Crawl | You play with reliable teammates who can revive | You primarily queue solo |
| Gentle Pressure / Proficient Pryer | You breach frequently and want quieter or faster access | You are investing heavily in movement or Survival first |
| Flyswatter / Sky-Clearing Swing | You intentionally use melee against relevant ARC targets | You rely on conventional weapons and do not need the route |
| Blast-Born | Your regular PvP group faces frequent explosive pressure | You need more broadly useful movement or recovery skills |
Common Skill Tree Mistakes
- Putting points evenly into all three branches: this often leaves you below the 36-point capstone gates without a defining advantage.
- Taking downed-state skills on a solo-only Raider: they are not useless, but their value is far lower without a revive possibility.
- Rushing Security Breach before basic Mobility: access to better loot does not help if you cannot reach it safely or escape afterward.
- Ignoring weapon and shield weight: heavy kits can undermine a movement build unless you plan around Used To The Weight or Loaded Arms.
- Copying a full-PvP squad tree for questing: recovery tools are excellent in firefights, but fast looting, crafting, and carry capacity produce more consistent solo progression.
- Respeccing for minor changes: each refunded point costs 2,000 Coins, so change builds when your playstyle has genuinely changed rather than after one bad raid.
When to Respec Your ARC Raiders Skill Tree
Respec when your main activity changes, not because a single skill feels weak in isolation. Move from Survival into Conditioning when you have a consistent PvP group and start bringing better combat kits. Move from Conditioning into Survival when you are rebuilding your stash, focusing on workshop materials, or completing solo objectives. Keep the Mobility opener unless Embark substantially changes the tree in a future update.
The current patch cycle has added content, map conditions, projects, and matchmaking adjustments without changing the core skill priorities. Check the official ARC Raiders patch notes after major updates before paying for a large respec, especially if Embark changes skill requirements, node effects, or progression systems.
Best Skill Tree Choice by Playstyle
Play solo and want safer extracts: choose Mobility 38 / Survival 38. It gives you stamina, quieter looting, field crafting, carry capacity, and escape tools.
Play duos or trios and want to take fights: choose Mobility 39 / Conditioning 37. It provides the best mix of traversal, shield management, clutch stamina, and revive-friendly downed utility.
Want the highest loot ceiling from locked containers: choose Survival 39 / Mobility 37. Security Breach and Minesweeper are valuable, but only when you can control the area and extract afterward.
Still leveling: do not overthink the final 76-point layout yet. Complete the Mobility opener first, take Carry The Momentum, then put your next points into Survival if you run alone or Conditioning if you consistently raid with a coordinated team.
