The Sha'tari Skyguard is a level 70 reputation faction that fights threats above Shattrath, the arakkoa of Skettis, and the Burning Legion near Ogri'la. Anniversary realms received the faction when Phase 2 launched globally on May 14, 2026. Blizzard names both new reputations in its Overlords of Outland announcement.

This guide covers the complete Skyguard unlock, the Skettis and Blade's Edge quest hubs, every daily quest, repeatable Shadow Dust farming, Time-Lost bosses, the Terokk cycle, reputation speed, all quartermaster rewards, and the five Nether Ray mounts. Unlike Ogri'la, Sha'tari Skyguard reputation can be farmed without a daily limit, making Exalted possible much faster for a prepared group.

Reputation sourcesOne-time quests, four daily quests, Skettis enemies, Shadow Dust turn-ins, summoned bosses, and Terokk
Main rewardFive epic Nether Ray flying mounts at Exalted

A basic flying mount is sufficient for opening the faction and completing every activity. Artisan Riding is not required for the reputation grind, but 300 Riding is mandatory before a character can learn any Nether Ray mount. Optional assistance with the Exalted progression is available through the Sha'tari Skyguard Reputation Boost.

How to Unlock the Sha'tari Skyguard

Find Yuula near the flight master in Shattrath City and accept Threat from Above. The quest appears after the character reaches level 70 and has access to flying. Fly to the Barrier Hills directly north of Shattrath and kill any 20 Gordunni Ogres. Avoid the elite Soulreapers that patrol the plateau unless the character can handle them safely.

Return to Yuula for 250 reputation and accept To Skettis. Deliver the explosives to Sky Sergeant Doryn at Blackwind Landing. The trip awards another 10 reputation and opens the first Skettis daily. This two-quest introduction is independent of the longer Ogri'la unlock, so a new level 70 character can start farming in Skettis immediately.

Skettis One-Time Quest Chain

Complete every quest at Blackwind Landing before settling into a farming loop. The faction offers 5330 reputation from all one-time quests across Skettis and Blade's Edge Mountains before racial or event bonuses. The most important Skettis branch begins with World of Shadows because it unlocks the repeatable system that leads to Terokk.

QuestPurposeReputation
Escape from SkettisRescue and escort a Skyguard Prisoner from one of the elevated cages150 and becomes daily
Secrets of the TalonpriestsUse an Elixir of Shadows and defeat Ishaal, Skizzik, and Zellek250
Ishaal's AlmanacLoot the almanac from Talonpriest Ishaal and begin the Terokk story75
An Ally in Lower CityBring the almanac to Rilak in Shattrath75

A Shabby DisguiseUse the disguise and obtain the Adversarial Blood book150
Adversarial BloodSummon and defeat all four Time-Lost descendants350 plus a Time-Lost Offering
Terokk's DownfallSummon and defeat Terokk with Skyguard assistance1000 from the first quest completion

Use the first Elixir of Shadows for Secrets of the Talonpriests only after reaching the first target area. The buff reveals hidden Time-Lost enemies and the named priests. Kill Ishaal carefully and loot his almanac before leaving, because completing the three kill objectives alone does not start the Terokk branch.

Blade's Edge Skyguard Outpost

The second Skyguard hub is attached to Ogri'la and requires the Ogri'la access chain. This route adds two high-value dailies and several one-time quests that award reputation with both factions. Unlocking the outpost is optional for the Skettis farm but reduces the calendar time needed for Exalted.

Banish More Demons is an Ogri'la daily but does not award repeatable Skyguard reputation. Only the first Banish the Demons quest gives 350 with both factions. Do not include the daily follow-up when calculating the guaranteed Skyguard total.

All Sha'tari Skyguard Daily Quests

There are two dailies in Skettis and two more at the Blade's Edge outpost. Completing all four awards 1350 base Skyguard reputation per reset. The Terokkar pair gives 500, while the Ogri'la-linked bombing and Aether Ray quests add 850.

Daily Quest Tactics

For Fires Over Skettis, target the moving egg clusters on tree platforms and inside the open roofs of arakkoa structures. Stay close enough for the targeting circle to turn valid, release the charge while moving, then climb away. Monstrous Kaliri can slow or dismount a rider, so fly above water or near a solid platform whenever possible.

Escape from Skettis starts from a captive Skyguard Prisoner rather than a fixed quest giver. The cage can appear on several elevated platforms around the lake. Search the known platform routes, free the prisoner, and defeat the small ambushes during the escort. Current Anniversary data awards 150 reputation, despite older sources commonly listing 350.

At the Blade's Edge outpost, combine Bomb Them Again with the route through Forge Camp: Wrath. Keep moving at low altitude, drop a bomb on each marked cannonball stack, and strafe away from flak. For Wrangle More Aether Rays, lower a ray to roughly 40 percent health, stop attacks, and channel the supplied rope before an accidental critical strike kills it. Players managing several reputation grinds can also use the TBC Daily Quests service for optional schedule support.

Shadow Dust Reputation Farm

Skettis arakkoa grant reputation on every kill up to Exalted and may drop Shadow Dust. After World of Shadows, six dust can be turned in through More Shadow Dust for 150 reputation and an Elixir of Shadows. The repeatable turn-in has no daily limit, and Shadow Dust can be traded or purchased from the Auction House.

Target or activityReputationAdditional value
Skettis Kaliri5 per killFast targets but low individual value
Standard Skettis arakkoa10 per killCan drop Shadow Dust
Monstrous Kaliri10 per killUseful when clearing the daily flight route
Talonsworn Forest-Rager30 per killHigher health and stronger attacks
More Shadow Dust150 per six dustAlso gives one Elixir of Shadows

Each Shadow Dust is effectively worth 25 reputation when used in a complete stack of six, before counting the reputation earned from the enemies that dropped it. Buying dust is the fastest low-effort option when the Auction House price is reasonable. Farming it personally also produces direct kill reputation and potential Time-Lost materials.

Time-Lost Bosses and Adversarial Blood

Drink an Elixir of Shadows to reveal Time-Lost arakkoa. These hidden enemies can drop Time-Lost Scrolls. A Skull Pile consumes ten scrolls to summon one descendant, and Adversarial Blood requires all four different bosses.

Summoned bossQuest tokenReputation per kill
Darkscreecher AkkaraiAkkarai's Talons100
Gezzarak the HuntressGezzarak's Claws100
Vakkiz the WindragerVakkiz's Scale100
KarrogKarrog's Spine100

One complete descendant cycle costs 40 scrolls and grants 400 reputation from the boss kills. Turning in Adversarial Blood adds 350 reputation and awards a Time-Lost Offering. The process is repeatable, so a coordinated group can maintain the chain as long as it continues farming dust and scrolls.

How to Summon and Defeat Terokk

Take the Time-Lost Offering to Terokk's summoning circle in the center of Skettis. The player using the offering must remain near the encounter so the summon does not reset. A normal group should bring one tank, one healer, and three damage dealers. Clear the area first because nearby arakkoa and enemy players can interfere after the zone-wide announcement.

  1. Let the tank establish threat and keep Terokk inside the summoning area.
  2. Spread enough to reduce the impact of Shadow Bolt Volley while remaining in healing range.
  3. When Terokk becomes immune near 20 percent health, stop attacking and watch for the blue Skyguard flare.
  4. Move Terokk into the marked area so the incoming Skyguard bomb removes his shield.
  5. Use offensive cooldowns during the exposed window and repeat the flare movement if the shield returns.

Terokk awards 500 reputation per kill in the current Anniversary guide data. The first Terokk's Downfall quest adds another 1000 reputation when turned in. A repeatable full cycle therefore provides 1250 reputation from four descendants, Adversarial Blood, and Terokk, before adding the reputation from all enemies killed while collecting the required materials.

Fastest Sha'tari Skyguard Reputation Route

  1. Complete Threat from Above and establish Blackwind Landing.
  2. Finish every one-time Skettis quest through Terokk's Downfall.
  3. Unlock the Ogri'la Skyguard Outpost and complete its one-time quests.
  4. At each reset, complete Fires Over Skettis and Escape from Skettis first.
  5. Travel to Blade's Edge and finish both the Forge Camp bombing and Aether Ray capture dailies.
  6. Return to Skettis and farm arakkoa until enough Shadow Dust is available for several turn-ins.
  7. Use every Elixir of Shadows to farm Time-Lost Scrolls instead of letting the buff expire unused.
  8. Run descendant and Terokk cycles with a consistent group until the desired reputation is reached.

The daily-only route is predictable but not the fastest. After all one-time quests, four complete daily rotations award 5400 reputation every four resets. An active Skettis group can add unlimited kill, dust, descendant, and Terokk reputation between those resets.

Time Needed to Reach Exalted

MethodGuaranteed reputationEstimated calendar time after one-time quests
Skettis dailies only500 per dayAbout 74 days
All four dailies1350 per dayAbout 28 days
All dailies plus Shadow Dust farming1350 daily plus unlimited turn-ins and killsDepends on competition and farm speed
Organized Time-Lost and Terokk group1250 per full boss cycle plus farming reputationCan reduce the grind to several focused sessions

The estimates use the 5330 reputation available from one-time quests and do not include Human reputation bonuses or temporary reputation events. Characters skipping Blade's Edge dailies can still finish through Skettis farming, but the calendar estimate becomes much longer if they rely only on the two Terokkar daily quests.

Sha'tari Skyguard Reputation Rewards

Grella sells the faction rewards at Blackwind Landing. The cloaks have a reusable slow-fall effect, while the Exalted trinkets are designed mainly for solo farming because their temporary bonuses activate after qualifying kills. The mount, pet, and tabard rewards are the main long-term collection targets.

How to Get the Nether Ray Mounts

Reach Exalted with the Sha'tari Skyguard, train Artisan Riding to 300, and visit Grella at Blackwind Landing. Each Nether Ray costs 160 gold after the Exalted reputation discount. All five colors have identical requirements and movement speed, so the choice is cosmetic.

MountRequirementCostSpeed
Blue Riding Nether RayLevel 70, 300 Riding, Exalted160 gold100 percent ground and 280 percent flight
Green Riding Nether RayLevel 70, 300 Riding, Exalted160 gold100 percent ground and 280 percent flight
Purple Riding Nether RayLevel 70, 300 Riding, Exalted160 gold100 percent ground and 280 percent flight

Silver Riding Nether RayLevel 70, 300 Riding, Exalted160 gold100 percent ground and 280 percent flight

Buying every color costs 800 gold, in addition to the cost of Artisan Riding. No free Nether Ray is awarded when Exalted is reached. The mounts are very fast Outland flying mounts and cannot be used in zones where TBC flying mounts are unavailable.

Common Sha'tari Skyguard Mistakes

  • Do not look for the starting quest before level 70 and flying access.
  • Do not count Banish More Demons as recurring Skyguard reputation.
  • Do not trust old Escape from Skettis values when planning the Anniversary grind.
  • Do not fly high above solid ground while Monstrous Kaliri are attacking.
  • Do not leave Ishaal without looting the almanac needed for the Terokk chain.
  • Do not waste an Elixir of Shadows without farming Time-Lost enemies during its duration.
  • Do not summon a repeated descendant before confirming which quest token the group still needs.
  • Do not summon Terokk without a tank, healer, and a plan for the blue flare shield mechanic.
  • Do not reach Exalted without preparing 300 Riding and at least 160 gold for the chosen mount.

Sha'tari Skyguard Progress Checklist

  1. Reach level 70 and train basic flying.
  2. Complete Threat from Above and report to Blackwind Landing.
  3. Finish every one-time Skettis quest and unlock More Shadow Dust.
  4. Loot Ishaal's Almanac and complete the story through Terokk's Downfall.
  5. Open the Ogri'la Skyguard Outpost for two additional dailies.
  6. Complete all four dailies for 1350 reputation each reset.
  7. Farm Shadow Dust and use every Elixir of Shadows on Time-Lost enemies.
  8. Repeat the four descendant bosses and Terokk with a reliable group.
  9. Train 300 Riding before purchasing a Nether Ray.
  10. Reach Exalted and buy the preferred mount from Grella.

Final Verdict

The Sha'tari Skyguard grind offers both a relaxed daily route and an unlimited reputation farm. Players seeking a predictable schedule should unlock both hubs and complete all four dailies, while players seeking the fastest result should add Shadow Dust turn-ins, Time-Lost descendants, and repeated Terokk kills. Exalted unlocks five equally fast Nether Ray colors, but the mount still requires Artisan Riding and a separate purchase. Complete the one-time chains first, use every farmed material efficiently, and organize boss cycles to reach the mounts without unnecessary resets.
