How to Get Cutting Edge: Ula'tek

Cutting Edge: Ula'tek requires defeating Ula'tek in The Venomous Abyss on Mythic difficulty while Midnight Season 2 remains the active Cutting Edge window.

The achievement is seasonal. Once Blizzard closes the eligibility window for the raid tier, characters that already earned Cutting Edge retain it permanently, but new characters can no longer obtain that season's Feat of Strength.

That makes the service fundamentally different from ordinary raid farming: the relevant reward is tied to completing Mythic Ula'tek while the tier is current.

Why Buy a Cutting Edge Carry?

You only need Cutting Edge. If the seasonal Mythic achievement is your goal, there is no reason to purchase unrelated earlier bosses again.

Cutting Edge Ula'tek Rewards

The achievement is the main result, but the Mythic Ula'tek kill can also provide several additional progression and collectible rewards.

344 Mythic Ula'tek Loot

Mythic Ula'tek belongs to the exceptional final-boss reward band of The Venomous Abyss. Eligible direct boss drops are item level 344.

The reward pool can include weapons, armor, trinkets, Venomcursed gear and the Slumbering Coil Curio, which eligible characters can exchange for an appropriate Season 2 Tier Set piece.

The configured Mythic kill is the guaranteed service objective. Individual weapons, trinkets, armor pieces and Curio drops remain random unless a specific reward is explicitly included in the selected order.

Venom's End Title

Completing Mythic Ula'tek also grants Mythic: Ula'tek when the normal achievement requirements are satisfied. That achievement awards the Venom's End title.

Venom's End and Cutting Edge are separate rewards: Mythic: Ula'tek records the Mythic boss completion, while Cutting Edge specifically marks that the kill was completed during the active seasonal window.

Is Primeval Skyfriend Included?

A standard Cutting Edge order does not automatically guarantee a Primeval Skyfriend allocation.

Mythic Ula'tek currently drops three Primeval Skyfriend mounts per kill. Completing the encounter gives access to that reward pool, but only three mounts are available for allocation from the kill.

If obtaining the mount is the actual goal, use the dedicated Primeval Skyfriend Mount Boost, where mount delivery can be included explicitly in the service scope.

Cutting Edge and Mythic Great Vault Progress

An eligible Mythic Ula'tek kill counts as one qualifying raid encounter for the weekly Raid section of the Great Vault.

Raid choices unlock after 2, 4 and 6 qualifying encounters. Mythic raid thresholds provide the current Mythic Raid Vault reward tier, including Myth 6/6 rewards for qualifying progress.

A Cutting Edge-only kill therefore does not unlock the first Raid choice when your character begins the week with zero qualifying bosses. Existing eligible progress can combine with Ula'tek to reach the next threshold.

If Great Vault progression is a major part of the order, use a larger boss package through the Venomous Abyss Mythic Boost.

Mythic Raid ID and Lockout Compatibility

Mythic uses a stricter instance-based lockout than Normal and Heroic. Your character must be compatible with the raid ID used by the assigned Cutting Edge team.

• Report all Mythic Venomous Abyss bosses already completed during the current reset.
• Provide your active Mythic raid-ID information before scheduling.
• Do not enter another conflicting Mythic Venomous Abyss instance after your slot is confirmed.
• Partially completed or unusual lockouts require manual review.

A conflicting raid ID can prevent the character from joining the assigned Ula'tek instance during the current weekly reset.

Dedicated 20-Player Mythic Team

Mythic Ula'tek requires a fixed 20-player raid roster. The group must be prepared specifically for the final encounter, including composition, mechanics, defensive assignments and progression strategy.

Cutting Edge orders are therefore scheduled individually rather than treated as generic instant-start raids. Region, character condition, raid-ID compatibility and current progression-team capacity are reviewed before the final slot is confirmed.

Self-Play and Other Available Methods

With Self-Play, you control your own character and participate in the Mythic Ula'tek encounter with the assigned progression group. You must follow the raid leader's positioning, mechanics, defensive assignments and other encounter instructions.
