Mythic Boss Count: From Vault Runs to the Full Clear

On Mythic, boss count is the product. The opening encounters are farmable content for an organized team, while the final bosses carry the tuning that defines the tier. Your order depth should match your goal, not a default:

Bosses are cleared in raid order, so every option includes all earlier encounters. A practical pattern many customers use: weekly 2/8-3/8 runs for Vault value through the season, and a single 8/8 order for the Cutting Edge kill while the tier is current. Cutting Edge: Ula'tek

Defeating Ula'tek on Mythic difficulty awards Cutting Edge: Ula'tek while The Venomous Abyss is the current raid tier. As with every Cutting Edge before it, Blizzard removes the achievement when the tier ends, which puts a hard deadline on the most prestigious PvE reward of Midnight Season 2.

CE is the credential that outlasts the gear. Item level resets every season; the record of clearing the hardest content while it was current stays on the character permanently, and it remains the strongest filter pass for high-end raid and key groups.

Mythic Loot Table by Boss

Mythic drops the highest base item level in The Venomous Abyss, and the curve peaks on the final two encounters. This is the concrete difference between order depths: only 7/8 and 8/8 runs reach the 321 loot of The Bargained Crown and Ula'tek.

Every Mythic kill also contributes to the raid row of your weekly Great Vault under Blizzard's current rules, at the highest raid difficulty in the game. Five of the covered bosses drop tier-set tokens for the Head, Shoulders, Chest, Hands, and Legs slots on the top track: Entombed Sentinels (Hands), Vashnik the Malignant (Chest), The Lost Explorers (Shoulders), Sszorak (Legs), and The Twin Fangs (Head). Token drops and tradability follow Blizzard's live loot rules, and your boss count determines which token encounters the order includes.

Mythic runs use dedicated raid compositions built around the order, so the open-roll formats from lower difficulties do not exist here. Both available packages are priority formats, agreed before the run:
