The Venomous Abyss is the eight-boss raid arriving with World of Warcraft: Midnight Patch 12.1, Curse of Ula’tek, and Midnight Season 2. Its loot table includes standard raid armor and weapons, specialization tier pieces, powerful trinkets, venom-themed jewelry, cantrip armor, very rare weapons and a Mythic-only mount. The raid’s final boss is Ula’tek, and several of the most unusual items come from the last two encounters.

The exact item levels depend on raid difficulty and the final Season 2 reward structure. Raid loot uses the Midnight upgrade system, while Very Rare items and some final-boss rewards occupy special positions in the Mythic reward structure.

The raid contains eight encounters. The current boss order is:

The Venomous Abyss Trinket Drops
The raid contains twelve currently identified trinkets. Their final tuning, stat values and specialization rankings require live testing, so this table identifies the item, boss and general role without presenting an unsupported best-in-slot ranking.

Players should not assume that a trinket is best for a specialization simply because it comes from Ula’tek. Final rankings depend on encounter duration, target count, cooldown alignment, stat scaling and tuning. The Mythic+ value of several raid trinkets also cannot be confirmed until live combat data is available.
Which Venomous Abyss trinkets are most important?
The most strategically important trinkets are likely to be those with strong damage profiles, reliable cooldown alignment or meaningful defensive value. However, the current information supports identifying the available items and their sources, not a definitive Season 2 trinket ranking. A dedicated best-trinkets article should be updated after the raid has live logs and final tuning.
Very Rare Weapons from The Venomous Abyss
The Venomous Abyss contains several special-effect weapons. Some are classified as very rare, while others are associated with the final boss and may be particularly valuable because of their unique effects or itemization.

These weapons are not interchangeable with ordinary raid drops. Their value comes from their special effects, weapon type, stat profile and availability. Very Rare items are expected to have enhanced Mythic reward treatment compared with normal items, but exact live item levels should be confirmed after the raid opens.
Cantrip Armor from Ula’tek
Ula’tek currently drops a group of special-effect armor pieces known as cantrip armor. These items differ from ordinary armor because they use an unusual secondary-stat layout and include a proc or passive effect.

Cantrip armor is not automatically better than tier armor. Its value depends on the strength of the effect, the specialization’s preferred secondary stats and the opportunity cost of replacing a tier piece. The current Season 2 Catalyst rules are expected to allow eligible armor to contribute to a tier set while retaining its special effect and secondary-stat behavior. The final interaction should be checked in the live game before making a set-conversion decision.
Venomous Abyss Jewelry and Deadly Venom Effects
Several raid jewelry pieces are designed around Deadly Venom, the poison theme shared by The Venomous Abyss and the surrounding Patch 12.1 content. These items can provide protection against the raid’s environmental or encounter-related venom effects.

Most of these items are intended to be especially relevant inside the raid or the connected outdoor zone rather than universally optimal in every activity. The current information does not confirm that multiple copies of the venom-reduction effect stack, so players should not build a complete jewelry set around that assumption.
Class Tier Sets and Raid Armor
The Venomous Abyss is the main raid source for Midnight Season 2 class tier sets. Tier pieces provide specialization-specific bonuses and can be acquired through their normal raid sources or through the Great Vault and Catalyst systems when eligible.
The raid’s armor table covers every armor type, with different bosses offering pieces for the appropriate class and armor pool. The exact boss-to-slot distribution can change during testing, so players should use the live Dungeon Journal when planning targeted clears.
Do not spend a Catalyst charge solely because an item comes from The Venomous Abyss. Compare the item with your current tier configuration, the specialization’s two-piece and four-piece bonuses, and any special effect on the original item. Cantrip armor may be eligible for set conversion, but converting it can change the way its unique effect is used in your build.
What Does Ula’tek Drop?
Ula’tek has the broadest and most valuable loot table in the raid. The final boss currently provides:
- Two raid trinkets: Voracious Heart of Ula’tek and Font of Venomous Rage.
- Cantrip armor, including Awoken Dreadfang Cuirass, Gaze of the Coiled Watcher, Venomkeeper’s Horrific Cowl and Chausses of Unbound Rancor.
- Weapons such as Abyssal Broodfiend’s Bardiche, Caustic Repose Greatbow and Jaw of the Shackled Goddess.
- Very Rare weapons including Zatha’tek, Breath of Corruption and Jan’thrazet, the Soul Fang.
- Aqirbane Reliquary, a venom-themed jewelry item.
- The Mythic-only Primeval Skyfriend mount, subject to final reward confirmation.
Because Ula’tek combines weapons, trinkets, cantrip armor, jewelry and a mount, groups may continue farming the encounter even after clearing earlier bosses for the week. A mount or Very Rare item remains a random reward unless Blizzard specifies otherwise; defeating Ula’tek does not guarantee any particular drop.
How Raid Difficulty Changes the Loot
The Venomous Abyss uses the standard difficulty structure of Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic and Mythic. Higher difficulties provide stronger versions of eligible items, while some special weapons and final-boss rewards use distinct reward rules.
- Raid Finder: Intended for matchmaking and introductory raid progression.
- Normal: The entry point for organized raiding and flexible groups.
- Heroic: A more demanding version with higher-level rewards.
- Mythic: The highest raid difficulty, with the strongest reward track and access to Mythic-specific achievements and the Ula’tek mount reward.
The exact item-level table for Patch 12.1 should be checked after Blizzard finalizes the Season 2 reward structure. In particular, the final two bosses and Very Rare items may use special Great Vault and upgrade-track treatment.
Great Vault Eligibility for The Venomous Abyss
Raid bosses defeated during the weekly lockout contribute to the Raid section of the Great Vault. The number of eligible choices depends on the applicable raid activity thresholds, while the quality of the available items is based on the highest qualifying raid difficulty and encounter progress.
Ula’tek and The Coiled Altar are especially important for players targeting their unique loot tables. However, a Great Vault choice is not guaranteed to contain a specific trinket, weapon or Very Rare item. Use the Great Vault to supplement raid drops rather than assuming that it replaces targeted boss farming.

Before joining a targeted farm, confirm whether your group is using personal loot or another group-loot arrangement, and check the current Dungeon Journal for the live item assignment. Boss-specific drops can be adjusted during final testing.
How to Prepare for The Venomous Abyss Loot Chase
- Unlock Midnight Season 2 systems first. Complete the Patch 12.1 introductory content and make sure your character can access the raid, Great Vault and Catalyst features.
- Keep your raid and Mythic+ progression separate. The Great Vault has separate activity categories, so completing Mythic+ or Delves can provide additional weekly choices while you pursue raid items.
- Target trinket bosses. A raid clear gives access to more loot, but a specific trinket still comes from its assigned encounter.
- Save Catalyst decisions for set planning. Compare cantrip armor, tier pieces and your current specialization bonuses before converting an item.
- Do not treat Very Rare items as guaranteed upgrades. Their rarity makes them desirable, but the correct weapon or armor piece still depends on your class, specialization and content type.
- Use the live Dungeon Journal after launch. The PTR table is useful for planning, but the live game is the final authority for boss assignments, item levels and reward eligibility.
Current Status of The Venomous Abyss Loot Table
Patch 12.1 and Midnight Season 2 are not live as of July 17, 2026. The Venomous Abyss is available for testing on the Patch 12.1 PTR, and its eight-boss structure, item names and broad reward categories are documented. Final item levels, tuning, exact drop assignments and some reward rules still require live confirmation.
