CS2 Inferno Smokes 2026: Best A, B, Mid & Banana Lineups

CS2 Inferno Smokes 2026: Best A, B, Mid & Banana Lineups

Inferno is one of the maps where a small utility advantage can decide an entire round. Instead of memorizing dozens of random grenade lineups, start with the smokes and molotovs that solve the map's recurring problems: Banana control, CT and Coffins on B, and Moto, Arch, Library and Pit around A.

Inferno also changed during 2026. Valve extended A Balcony, closed Graveyard and later fixed a pixel boost at Top Mid. That makes old videos particularly risky around A and Mid.

Learn these first: CT/Boost Smoke, Coffins Smoke, Moto Smoke, Arch Smoke, Library Smoke, Top Mid Smoke, Banana Half-Wall Smoke, Pit Molotov, New Box/Oranges Molotov and basic Banana/A entry flashes.

Official Inferno Smoke Lineups in CS2

The current CS2 in-game Inferno guide contains seven official smoke lineups:

Left Top MidTReduce A-side pressure around Top Mid
A Site MotoTIsolate Moto during an A execute
BananaCTDelay T Banana control
Banana Half-WallCTBlock deeper Banana pressure
MidCTReduce T Mid control

Five of these seven official lineups use a jump-throw.

Best B Site Smokes on Inferno

CT / Boost Smoke

This is one of the first Inferno smokes every T player should learn.

It removes a major rotation and defensive sightline from the B execute.

Its value is highest when your team is already ready to enter. Throwing CT smoke and then waiting too long gives the defenders time to reposition before the smoke expires.

Coffins Smoke

Coffins is another dominant defensive position.

Combining CT + Coffins gives the entry players much less to fight immediately.

Instead of checking the whole back side of B at once, they can focus on:

  • New Box;
  • 1st/2nd Oranges;
  • Dark;
  • Fountain;
  • close site positions.

CT + Coffins B Execute

A simple B utility package:

  1. secure Banana control;
  2. smoke CT;
  3. smoke Coffins;
  4. molotov New Box or another known close position;
  5. flash over the site;
  6. enter together;
  7. clear Dark and Oranges;
  8. plant only after the core site angles are controlled.

New Box and Oranges Molotovs

Smokes remove sightlines. Molotovs force players to move.

That makes incendiary utility particularly strong against:

  • New Box;
  • 1st Oranges;
  • 2nd Oranges;
  • Dark;
  • other known close B positions.

Dark Molotov

Dark is easy to forget because entries often focus on Coffins and CT.

A surviving Dark player can punish the bomb carrier after the Ts believe B is already secured.

Banana Utility

Inferno rounds often start with a utility fight before a real gunfight happens.

Banana Smoke

CTs can smoke Banana to deny information and slow the next stage of T control.

Banana Half-Wall Smoke

This official CT smoke blocks deeper Banana pressure and can force Ts to wait or spend additional utility.

Banana Pop Flash

Both sides benefit from pop flashes here.

A good Banana flash should:

  • pop above or behind the opponent's vision;
  • arrive immediately before the swing;
  • allow a teammate to trade the first fight.

Car Incendiary / Molotov

The Car area is another key Banana control point.

Use fire when you want to force the opponent away instead of simply blocking their vision.

How Much Utility Should You Spend on Banana?

Do not automatically use your entire grenade inventory in the first 15 seconds.

Sometimes gaining Banana with:

  • one molotov;
  • one flash;
  • one HE;

is enough.

Saving a smoke for the late B execute or post-plant can be much more valuable.

Best A Site Smokes

Moto Smoke

Moto is one of the most valuable A-side isolation smokes and is also represented in the official in-game lineup guide.

It reduces pressure from the Library/CT side while Ts fight the site itself.

Arch Smoke

An Arch smoke is useful when your team wants to:

  • take Top Mid deeper;
  • split A;
  • cut off a flexible CT rotator;
  • create Long pressure.

Library Smoke

Library is a strong rotation and retake position.

Smoking it can separate the A-site defenders from players arriving later from CT.

Short / Long Isolation Smokes

Additional A-side smokes can be used to divide Short, Long or Boiler-related pressure.

Do not smoke routes your own team wants to use unless the timing is intentional.

Pit Molotov

Pit remains one of the strongest A defensive positions.

A molotov is often the cleanest way to force the player to move.

This is especially valuable during Short + Apartments executes.

Under Balcony Molotov

Another common A-site problem is a defender hiding under Balcony.

Clear it with utility instead of asking the first player to check Pit, Mini Pit, Site and Under Balcony at the same time.

Simple A Execute

  1. gain Top Mid control;
  2. keep Apartments pressure alive;
  3. smoke Moto;
  4. smoke Arch or Library depending on the plan;
  5. molotov Pit;
  6. flash the site;
  7. activate Short and Balcony together;
  8. trade into A.

Mid Utility

Left Top Mid Smoke

This official smoke reduces one of the dangerous A-side sightlines while Ts occupy Top Mid.

Mid Smoke From CT

The official CT Mid smoke can slow the T-side Mid take and reduce early information.

Mid Pop Flash

A coordinated flash can help either side contest Mid without taking a completely dry duel.

Graveyard Smokes Are Outdated

Do not prioritize old Graveyard smoke tutorials.

Valve closed Graveyard on March 4, 2026.

If an old lineup guide tells you to smoke or play the former Graveyard position as part of a current A execute, that section is outdated.

Do Old Inferno Smokes Still Work?

Some do, but Inferno received several geometry changes through 2025 and 2026.

An old lineup can fail because:

  • the standing position changed;
  • the target geometry changed;
  • clipping was adjusted;
  • a playable area was removed;
  • the final smoke leaves a different gap.

March 2026 changes around Balcony and Graveyard are particularly important for old A-side lineups.

How to Learn an Inferno Lineup Faster

  1. learn the exact standing position;
  2. pick one obvious visual aim reference;
  3. remember whether it is standing or jump-throw;
  4. land the grenade five times consecutively;
  5. inspect it with noclip;
  6. use rethrow to view it from the defender's side;
  7. practice reaching the lineup from a real round route.

If You Only Learn Six Inferno Smokes

  1. CT Smoke;
  2. Coffins Smoke;
  3. Moto Smoke;
  4. Arch Smoke;
  5. Banana Half-Wall Smoke;
  6. Top Mid Smoke.

Then add Pit, New Box and Dark molotovs.

Common Inferno Utility Mistakes

  • throwing CT and Coffins too early;
  • winning Banana and wasting every remaining grenade;
  • using smokes without an entry timing;
  • forgetting Pit during an A hit;
  • forgetting Dark during a B hit;
  • throwing an entry flash before teammates are ready;
  • using outdated Graveyard lineups;
  • dumping all CT utility at round start;
  • knowing the lineup but not the purpose behind it.

Inferno Utility Checklist

  • CT / Boost Smoke;
  • Coffins Smoke;
  • Banana Smoke;
  • Banana Half-Wall Smoke;
  • Banana Pop Flash;
  • New Box Molotov;
  • Dark Molotov;
  • Moto Smoke;
  • Arch Smoke;
  • Library Smoke;
  • Pit Molotov;
  • A Pop Flash;
  • Top Mid Smoke.
Bottom line: Inferno utility is about controlling narrow chokepoints. CT + Coffins simplifies B, Moto/Arch/Library simplify A, and good Banana utility lets your team threaten B without wasting the entire grenade inventory.
