Guardian Raids remain one of Lost Ark’s core progression activities. In the current Western version, they are primarily a daily source of character-bound progression rewards, accessories, ability stones, cards, skill runes, and occasional Fate Embers—not a direct weekly gold farm. The most efficient approach is to collect one Guardian’s Will per day on characters that need materials, use Rest Bonus when your schedule is limited, and prioritize the highest Guardian your character can clear quickly and consistently.
Lost Ark Guardian Raids: Current Overview
Guardian Raids are boss encounters that can be completed solo, through matchmaking, or with a party of up to four players. You locate and defeat a Guardian within a time limit while managing mechanics such as counters, stagger checks, weak-point destruction, limited revives, and the Guardian’s movement between habitats.
| Feature | Current Western rule |
|---|---|
| Unlock requirement | Complete the [Guide] Guardian Raid Qualifications Certificate quest. |
| General entry level | Item Level 500 or higher, with a separate recommended or required level for each Guardian. |
| Party size | Solo, matchmaking, or up to four players through Party Finder. |
| Daily collection | One Guardian’s Will can be collected per character per day, regardless of raid level. |
| Time limit | Twenty minutes per raid attempt. |
| Weekly importance | Daily materials support weekly honing, raid preparation, Una’s Tasks, guild missions, and other progression goals. |
The practical meaning of this table is simple: Guardian Raids are worth doing regularly when the rewards advance a character, but they should not automatically consume time on every alt. A fast, reliable clear is usually more valuable than repeatedly forcing the highest available Guardian through a slow or failure-prone group.
How to Unlock and Enter Guardian Raids
Guardian Raids become available after completing the [Guide] Guardian Raid Qualifications Certificate quest. You can enter from the Guardian Raid Entry Bulletin Board in a major city or through the Content List and Content Guide interfaces.
Your character must meet the relevant Item Level requirement for the selected Guardian. The entry requirement shown in the in-game UI is the final authority if a patch changes a Guardian’s placement or recommended level.
At higher progression levels, the Content Guide helps organize available endgame and core activities. Guardian Raid access can also be reached through the standard content menus, including the default Alt + Q shortcut where applicable.
Standard entry rules
- Guardian Raids can be entered alone or with up to four players.
- Guardian health and destruction or stagger requirements scale according to the number of participants in the instance.
- You must select whether to collect Guardian’s Will before entering.
- If you select collection and defeat the Guardian but fail to pick up the reward, the daily collection is still consumed.
- Leaving a raid early applies the Guardian’s Curse debuff, temporarily preventing entry into another Guardian Raid.

Guardian Raid Levels and Current Progression Route
Standard Guardian Raids are organized into Raid Levels 1 through 6 under the Vairgrys’ Test section. Later progression uses Purification Levels, while the highest-end weekly rotation is presented as Guardian’s Afterimage content.
| Section | Confirmed entry progression | Guardians |
|---|---|---|
| Raid Level 1 | Item Level 500+ | Ur’nil, Lumerus, Icy Legoros, Vertus |
| Raid Level 2 | Item Level 635+ | Chromanium, Nacrasena, Flame Fox Yoho, Tytalos |
| Raid Level 3 | Item Level 805+ | Dark Legoros, Helgaia, Calventus, Achates |
| Raid Level 4 | Item Level 960+ | Frost Helgaia, Lava Chromanium, Levanos, Alberhastic |
| Raid Level 5 | Item Level 1250+ | Armored Nacrasena, Igrexion, Night Fox Yoho, Velganos |
| Raid Level 6 | Item Level 1415+, with individual Guardian requirements | Deskaluda, Kungelanium, Caliligos, Hanumatan |
| Purification Level 1 | Item Level 1580+, with individual Guardian requirements | Sonavel, Gargadeth, Veskal |
| Purification Level 2 | Item Level 1640+, with individual Guardian requirements | Argeos, Skolakia |
These levels describe the established Guardian Raid progression. They do not mean that every Guardian is equally efficient for every character. A newly unlocked Guardian may provide better rewards, but a familiar lower Guardian can still be the better daily choice if it takes substantially less time or avoids repeated Party Finder failures.
Guardian’s Afterimage at Item Level 1730+
Guardian’s Afterimage is a separate rotating system for advanced characters. Stage 1 requires Item Level 1730 and the unlock quest [Unlock] New Adventure, New Growth!.
The Western rotation includes:
- Lumen Caligo
- Gargadeth
- Skolakia
- Krathios
- Argeos
- Drextalas
- Sonavel
- Veskal
The rotation changes weekly. Guardian’s Afterimage provides clear rewards similar to existing Guardian Raids, can provide the Guardian’s Afterimage Card Selection Pack I, and may offer Gems or Fragment of Destiny when Guardian’s Will collection is active. It does not provide a first-clear reward.
Guardian Raid Mechanics You Must Understand
Finding the Guardian
Guardians appear in their designated habitat and may relocate during the encounter. A Flare is the standard way to reveal the Guardian’s location quickly after it moves. In a coordinated group, players commonly rotate Flare usage so one person is not paying the entire battle-item cost.
Counter attacks
Some Guardians display a counterable attack pattern. Use a counter skill during the correct window to interrupt or punish the attack. Missing a counter is not always a wipe, but repeated failures can cause avoidable damage, lost uptime, or a failed mechanic.
Stagger checks
Stagger checks require the party to fill a Guardian’s stagger bar before the mechanic completes. Bring skills with reliable stagger and avoid spending every high-impact skill immediately before a known stagger window.
Weak-point destruction
Some encounters require destruction effects to break armor, remove a protective object, or expose the boss to damage. Bring destruction-capable skills or the appropriate battle item when the encounter demands it. A group that ignores weak-point requirements can lose more time than it saves by using damage-only setups.
Time limit and revives
You have twenty minutes to defeat the Guardian. A party receives three total resurrection opportunities. If the team uses all available revives and everyone dies, the raid fails, although surviving players may continue while the encounter remains active.
Battle Workshop restrictions
Most consumables cannot be used inside Guardian Raids. Battle items and food are permitted, and equipment or skills can be changed at the Battle Workshop near the entrance. Set your build, tripods, gems, battle items, and pet effects before leaving the workshop.
Guardian Raid Rewards
Rewards are tied to the Guardian’s Will collection system. After a successful clear, the Guardian’s Will becomes available if you selected collection before entering.
Base rewards
Depending on the Guardian and current progression bracket, the reward pool can include:
- Honing and progression materials.
- Accessories.
- Ability stones.
- Cards.
- Skill runes.
- Other character progression items.
Reward tables can change with major updates. The in-game completion window and Item Dictionary should be treated as the final reference for the exact quantity and binding status of a current reward.
Fate Embers
Fate Embers are rare bonus rewards that can provide premium loot such as gold, additional honing materials, card packs, or card experience packs. Their appearance is not guaranteed, so they should be treated as an occasional upside rather than part of a fixed income calculation.
First-clear rewards
Many Guardian progression steps provide a first-clear reward containing additional materials and accessories. Claiming a first-clear reward can be useful during early progression, but do not confuse it with the repeatable daily value of Guardian’s Will.
Current reward-system changes
Recent Western updates changed several assumptions from older Guardian Raid guides. Guardian Raids no longer function as a reliable source of the traditional Guardian Stones, Destruction Stones, and Leapstones listed in older progression articles. In addition, honing materials obtained from Fate Embers were changed to tradeable items in the relevant update. Always check the current reward panel rather than relying on a legacy spreadsheet or an old video.
Guardian’s Will, Daily Limits, and Rest Bonus
You can collect only one Guardian’s Will per character per day, regardless of the Guardian’s Raid Level. The collection timer resets at the daily server reset.
Rest Bonus accumulates when you do not collect your daily Guardian’s Will. At 20 Rest Bonus points, equal to two missed days, you can earn an extra Guardian’s Will from a completion. Rest Bonus is therefore a catch-up system, not a reason to deliberately skip content on a character that needs immediate materials.
When to use Rest Bonus
- Use it on characters that you cannot play every day.
- Prioritize it on characters with meaningful honing or progression goals.
- Do not force a long Guardian clear simply to avoid losing theoretical efficiency on an alt.
- Check whether the character is still using the materials before spending stored Rest Bonus.
How Guardian Raids Fit Into Weekly Progression
Guardian Raids are daily content, but their value is strongly connected to the weekly routine. The materials earned during the week support honing, gem and gear progression, raid preparation, and other character goals. Guardian Raids can also contribute to weekly Una’s Tasks, guild missions, and milestone objectives when the relevant mission is active.
A practical weekly value model is:
- Choose the characters that matter. Main characters and active progression alts should receive priority over parked characters.
- Set a realistic daily target. One fast clear on an important character is better than an unsustainable multi-alt routine.
- Use the highest efficient Guardian. Compare clear speed, failure rate, battle-item cost, and Party Finder time—not only the Item Level requirement.
- Check weekly missions. If a Guardian-related Una’s Task, guild mission, or milestone is active, include it in the route.
- Spend rewards with a goal. Direct materials toward the next honing breakpoint, raid entry requirement, or character milestone.
Players at Item Level 1730 or above should also check the current Guardian’s Afterimage rotation. The weekly card-selection reward and rotating Guardian may make it more attractive than treating the content as a routine material-only clear.
Recommended Battle Items and Preparation
The exact battle-item setup depends on the Guardian, class, and party composition, but the following preparation rules are broadly reliable:
- Carry Flares when the Guardian can relocate or the group needs faster tracking.
- Carry Destruction Bombs when the encounter has a confirmed weak-point requirement.
- Carry Whirlwind Grenades when the party needs additional stagger.
- Use a Panacea or other cleansing option only when the selected encounter applies a removable harmful effect.
- Use appropriate healing potions and food before entering, since most consumables are restricted during the raid.
- Confirm your battle-item slots, skill bar, and counter before leaving the Battle Workshop.
Do not throw battle items automatically at the beginning of every encounter. Save them for the mechanic they solve unless the group has agreed on a different plan.
Common Guardian Raid Mistakes
Entering without selecting Guardian’s Will
If you enter without selecting collection, the clear may provide no daily Guardian’s Will reward. Check the collection option before every entry.
Ignoring the current reward panel
Older guides often list honing materials or quantities that no longer match the Western live version. Open the raid’s reward information before building a farming route.
Using the highest Guardian at any cost
A difficult Guardian that takes several attempts can have worse practical value than a lower, reliable clear. Include queue time, failed attempts, battle items, and repair costs in your decision.
Skipping mechanics because the boss is familiar
Even low-risk Guardians can punish missed counters, stagger checks, or destruction windows. Learn the mechanic that ends the fight before optimizing damage.
Overcommitting to every alt
Guardian Raids are repeatable, but your roster does not need identical daily obligations on every character. Assign daily clears to characters that can convert the rewards into real progression.
Should You Do Guardian Raids Every Day?
Yes, when the character is actively progressing and the clear is efficient. Guardian Raids provide repeatable daily value and can support weekly missions and endgame preparation. They are especially worthwhile on a main character, a honing bottleneck, or an alt that is close to an important Item Level threshold.
Use Rest Bonus or skip them when the character is parked, the queue is unhealthy, or the activity takes too long. The best weekly routine is not the one with the most entries; it is the one that preserves your time while supplying the materials your roster actually needs.
