Need Help Progressing in Lost Ark?

Lost Ark’s Summer of Extremes update is already live in the Western version as of July 22, 2026. The update adds Kazeros Raid: Act 1 Extreme, launches Paradise Season 4, expands Solo Mode to Kazeros Act 4: Fortress of Destruction and Kazeros Raid Denouement: The Final Day, and introduces a reduced-difficulty matchmaking option for Shadow Raid: Serca. For most players, the best approach is to choose one clear priority: prepare an 8-player group for Act 1 Extreme, build seasonal power through Paradise, or use Solo Mode to maintain weekly progression without relying on Party Finder.

Summer of Extremes: Current Status and Release Dates

The Western Summer of Extremes update launched on July 15, 2026. It is not a pre-release event or roadmap announcement anymore. The main content is currently available, although some related activities have separate schedules.

ContentWestern statusConfirmed dates or requirement
Kazeros Raid: Act 1 ExtremeLiveRequires completion of “The Way Forward” and Item Level 1720, 1750, or 1770 depending on difficulty
Paradise Season 4LiveJuly 15, 2026 – February 3, 2027
Solo Mode: Act 4LiveItem Level 1700 or higher
Solo Mode: DenouementLiveItem Level 1710 or higher
Serca Matchmaking ModeLiveItem Level 1710 or higher
Summer Night Festival IslandLive limited-time eventJuly 15 – August 12, 2026

The practical meaning of this schedule is simple: Act 1 Extreme and the new solo options are permanent endgame content, while Paradise Season 4 and the Summer Night Festival are seasonal or time-limited systems. Prioritize the limited seasonal rewards first, then fit raids into your normal weekly routine.

Who Should Follow This Guide?

This guide is for Western Lost Ark players who want to decide how to use the July update efficiently. It is especially useful for:

  • Players at Item Level 1720 or above who want to attempt Act 1 Extreme.
  • Players progressing toward Item Level 1700 or 1710 and deciding which Solo Mode raids to add to their weekly route.
  • Returning players who need a current explanation of the Paradise system.
  • Raiders who want to test Serca through matchmaking instead of committing to a traditional party.
  • Roster managers deciding how to spend weekly entries, gold rewards, and progression materials.

If you are still climbing through Tier 4, use the Lost Ark gear progression guide first. Summer of Extremes is most valuable once your roster is close to the new Item Level thresholds.

Kazeros Raid: Act 1 Extreme Guide

Act 1 Extreme is a standalone Extreme encounter against Aegir, the Oppressor. It is accessed through the Extreme button in the entry interface for Kazeros Raid Act 1: Earth-Shattering Hellfire. The encounter uses an 8-player party and offers three difficulty levels.

DifficultyItem LevelParty sizeRevival rulesWeekly reward
Normal1720+8 playersEach character can revive once per attempt20,000 Gold and 150 Coins of Fire and Ice
Hard1750+8 playersEach character can revive once per attempt45,000 Gold and 200 Coins of Fire and Ice
Nightmare1770+8 playersNo Individual Revival system45,000 Gold and 200 Coins of Fire and Ice

All three difficulties share one weekly roster entry. Clearing Normal does not allow another Act 1 Extreme clear on Hard or Nightmare during the same weekly lockout. Select the highest difficulty your group can realistically clear rather than entering a higher tier simply because the character meets its Item Level requirement.

Act 1 Extreme Access Requirements

  • Complete the Main Quest “The Way Forward.”
  • Reach the Item Level required for the selected difficulty.
  • Form an 8-player party.
  • Use the Extreme entry option in the Kazeros Raid interface.

The full gold reward is granted regardless of whether the character has an available weekly gold-earning slot. This makes Act 1 Extreme particularly relevant for high-level characters that have already filled their normal gold roster.

How to Prepare for Aegir Extreme

Act 1 Extreme is not a good place to test an unfinished build. Before entering, check the following:

  1. Confirm the difficulty threshold. A character at the minimum Item Level may be eligible but still provide little margin for mistakes, especially in Nightmare.
  2. Finish your current build. Review engravings, accessories, gems, Ark Grid choices, and your recommended settings before joining a group.
  3. Bring appropriate battle items. Match consumables to your party’s planned calls and the encounter’s stagger, counter, destruction, or survival requirements once your group has reviewed the current mechanic plan.
  4. Assign responsibilities before pulling. Decide who handles counters, stagger windows, destruction checks, support utility, and callouts.
  5. Practice the original Aegir encounter. The Extreme version is not a replacement for learning the underlying fight. Familiarity with Aegir’s attack patterns reduces avoidable deaths.
  6. Reserve enough time for the lockout. Because the entry is roster-wide and weekly, avoid using it during an unplanned Party Finder attempt with unclear expectations.

Normal and Hard provide one Individual Revival per character and are therefore more suitable for progression groups. Nightmare removes that safety net, so the group should enter only after its members understand the encounter and have reliable damage, uptime, and communication.

Act 1 Extreme Rewards

The main rewards are Gold and Coins of Fire and Ice. These coins are used at the new Kazeros Extreme crafting NPC, Nunet, which appears in major cities. Elgacia uses the Mirror of Eternity for the same crafting function.

The first clear reward is granted once per roster when Aegir is defeated for the first time, regardless of difficulty. A first Nightmare clear also grants the Legendary Title “Lord of Hellfire.” Some items crafted through Nunet have roster limits, so do not assume that every coin purchase can be repeated indefinitely.

For detailed preparation focused specifically on Aegir, see the Lost Ark Kazeros Act 1 Extreme preparation guide.

Paradise Season 4 Guide

Paradise Season 4 runs from July 15, 2026, through February 3, 2027. It is a separate seasonal progression system with its own challenges, ranking rewards, seasonal items, and exchange shop. The season includes updated Paradise activities and a revised Hell Dungeon.

Season 4 removes Season 1 Orbs from inventories and introduces new ranking-exclusive rewards, including:

  • An Insignia.
  • A Title.
  • An Adventurer Banner.

Hell Dungeon Changes in Season 4

Hell Dungeon now includes additional risk-and-reward mechanics:

  • A new falling point appears every 10 floors.
  • Successful falling-point attempts descend by the same amount as a great jump.
  • Failed attempts send the player back some stages.
  • Three consecutive drops of the same distance trigger a lucky reward.
  • The furthest-reached record now displays the current season’s record rather than combining seasonal results.
  • New items are available through the Paradise Exchange Shop for Paradise Essence.

The correct priority is to treat Paradise as a seasonal progression track rather than as a substitute for your normal raid routine. Use it regularly if you want ranking rewards, seasonal exchange items, or additional progression. Do not spend raid resources or gold on Paradise before checking which seasonal activities are already covered by your available attempts and tickets.

For a deeper explanation of the seasonal loop, use the Paradise Season 4 guide. It covers the system’s progression structure and how to separate permanent character upgrades from seasonal rewards.

New Solo Mode Raids

Summer of Extremes adds Solo Mode to two later Kazeros encounters:

  • Kazeros Raid Act 4: Fortress of Destruction at Item Level 1700 or higher.
  • Kazeros Raid Denouement: The Final Day at Item Level 1710 or higher.

Solo Mode is designed for players who want to progress without Party Finder, practice mechanics independently, or maintain a weekly routine on multiple characters. It provides gold and progression materials, although the gold amount is lower than in group raids.

Important Solo Mode Rules

  • Solo Mode shares entry counts and Gate progress with Normal and Hard difficulty for the same content.
  • Solo Mode is classified as End Content and uses the character’s gold reward limit and free Bonus Reward count.
  • Once the first Gate is cleared in Solo Mode, the difficulty is locked for later Gates in that run.
  • Half of the gold acquired from each Solo Mode Gate is distributed as Character-Bound Gold.
  • If a disconnection or failed re-entry occurs within the permitted time, an entry-count restoration ticket may be mailed to the player and remains valid until the next maintenance.

These rules create an important weekly planning decision. Adding Act 4 and Denouement to the Solo Mode list does not automatically create additional gold slots. Compare their rewards with your other three preferred End Content clears before committing a character’s weekly route.

Recommended Solo Route

  1. Use Solo Mode first for learning. Practice the raid’s patterns without waiting for a group or worrying about Party Finder requirements.
  2. Choose raids that match your current progression. Act 4 is the natural target at Item Level 1700, while Denouement becomes available at Item Level 1710.
  3. Track shared Gate progress. Do not start a raid in Solo Mode if you intend to finish the week in Normal or Hard with a group.
  4. Reserve gold slots deliberately. Character-Bound Gold is useful for progression but does not have the same flexibility as freely tradable gold.
  5. Move to group clears when the character and roster are ready. Group raids remain the better option when you can clear them consistently and need higher-value rewards.

See the Lost Ark new Solo Raids guide for a weekly comparison of Act 4, Denouement, and the rest of the Solo Mode pool.

Serca Matchmaking Mode

The update also adds a new matchmaking mode for Shadow Raid: Serca, the Witch of Agony. The Item Level requirement is 1710 or higher, the same as Normal difficulty.

Serca Matchmaking Mode can be entered alone, through matchmaking, or with a pre-made party of two or three players. Pre-made four-player parties cannot use matchmaking mode. Combat balance adjusts according to the number of players.

The mode is intended as a lower-pressure way to experience Serca:

  • The raid does not trigger a full-party wipe if every participant dies.
  • Players have unlimited resurrections using Phoenix Plumes or 10 Crystals when no Phoenix Plume is available.
  • There is no Loot Auction.
  • Sidereal’s Energy does not drop.
  • Rewards are identical to Normal difficulty, and Bonus Rewards remain available.
  • Entry count and Gate progress are shared with Normal, Hard, Nightmare, and Matchmaking Mode.

Players still need to participate actively. AFK protection can remove characters from the raid, consume the entry count, and prevent an entry restoration ticket from being issued. The mode is forgiving mechanically, but it is not intended to be an unattended clear.

Best Weekly Priority for Summer of Extremes

Use the following decision framework:

Player situationRecommended priority
Item Level below 1700Focus on gear progression, Solo Mode content already available, and limited seasonal rewards.
Item Level 1700–1719Add Act 4 Solo Mode and continue building toward Denouement and Serca.
Item Level 1710–1719Choose between Denouement Solo Mode and Serca Matchmaking according to your weekly gold plan.
Item Level 1720–1749Attempt Act 1 Extreme Normal with a prepared 8-player group; use Solo Mode for reliable progression on alts.
Item Level 1750–1769Consider Act 1 Extreme Hard if your party has consistent mechanics and sufficient damage.
Item Level 1770+Prepare for Nightmare only after your group can reliably survive without Individual Revival.

The table’s main lesson is that Item Level alone should not determine your weekly plan. Extreme raids consume a shared roster entry, Solo Mode consumes shared Gate progress and gold capacity, and Paradise uses a seasonal progression track. Efficient players decide which reward type matters most before entering content.

Common Summer of Extremes Mistakes

  • Using the wrong Act 1 Extreme difficulty. Normal, Hard, and Nightmare share one weekly roster entry.
  • Assuming Nightmare has Individual Revival. It does not.
  • Starting Solo Mode without checking Gate plans. Solo, Normal, and Hard share progress and entry rules.
  • Treating Character-Bound Gold as tradable gold. Half of Solo Mode Gate gold is Character-Bound Gold.
  • Ignoring the seasonal end date. Paradise Season 4 ends on February 3, 2027, while the Summer Night Festival ends much earlier on August 12, 2026.
  • Entering Serca Matchmaking and remaining inactive. AFK protection can consume the entry without restoring it.
  • Spending all weekly time on raids. Paradise offers seasonal rewards and ranking progression that cannot be recovered after the season ends.
  • Joining Extreme groups without assigned responsibilities. Agree on callouts, counters, stagger duties, and support utility before the attempt.

Getting Help With Current Lost Ark Progression

If your roster meets the Item Level requirement but Party Finder coordination is the main obstacle, you can review the current Lost Ark raid and progression services. The relevant choice depends on the bottleneck: a difficult Kazeros clear, weekly progression, or preparation for a higher Item Level threshold.

Do not buy a service simply because a character has unlocked the content. Confirm the selected difficulty, entry requirement, gate scope, and reward objective first. For Denouement progression, the Kazeros Denouement service page lists the current Western Item Level requirements and available clear options.
