Step 1: Find Skar'this in Heroic Slave Pens

The two dungeon objectives in Kalynna's Request are both Heroic. The Book of Forgotten Names comes from the first boss of Sethekk Halls, and the Tome of Dusk comes from the first boss of Shattered Halls. Confirm access to the Auchindoun and Hellfire Citadel Heroics before forming those groups.
Digging Up the Past is completed outside the raid instance and does not progress while the character remains in a raid group. Leave the raid, collect the objective, and rejoin afterward. After Nightbane dies, loot the Blazing Signet. The summoner does not have to be the same person completing the SSC attunement. Multiple eligible players can complete their signet objective from the same kill as long as each accepted The Cudgel beforehand.
Step 5: Return to Skar'this and Unlock SSC
With both signets in hand, form another Heroic Slave Pens group and return to Skar'this behind Mennu's area. Turn in The Cudgel of Kar'desh. Skar'this casts The Mark of Vashj, which grants Serpentshrine Cavern access; there is no separate physical SSC key to keep in the inventory.
In Anniversary, completed raid attunements are account-wide.
