AION 2 Spacetime Rifts are level-45 portals that temporarily let Elyos enter Altgard and Asmodians enter Verteron. Current Global servers use a three-hour Rift cycle, the entry portal is available for only about 10 minutes, and players who enter receive roughly one hour on the enemy faction's map to complete Rift quests, farm faction-exclusive Pet Souls, clear exploration content and optionally participate in PvP.
Quick answer: on the currently observed EU/NA Global cycle, Spacetime Rifts open eight times per day at approximately 00:00, 03:00, 06:00, 09:00, 12:00, 15:00, 18:00 and 21:00 UTC. NC has not published a permanent Global Rift timetable, so always confirm the next opening with the in-game map or our live timer after maintenance or daylight-saving changes.

AION 2 Spacetime Rift Timer
Spacetime Rifts currently appear every three hours on Global.
The observed EU/NA cycle at the time of this update is:
00:00 → 03:00 → 06:00 → 09:00 → 12:00 → 15:00 → 18:00 → 21:00 UTC.
During Central European Summer Time, this corresponds to:
02:00 → 05:00 → 08:00 → 11:00 → 14:00 → 17:00 → 20:00 → 23:00 CEST.
Do not permanently memorize the local-clock version. Europe changes from CEST to CET on October 25, 2026, and NC has not publicly confirmed whether every Global region will continue following the same UTC phase after regional clock changes.
The reliable workflow is:
- check the live timer;
- watch for the server-wide Rift message;
- open the map when the message appears;
- travel to the active purple Rift marker immediately.
Is the Global Rift Schedule Official?
The three-hour cycle is well established, but NC has not published a standalone permanent Global clock schedule.
The current 00:00 UTC phase is supported by live Global trackers and player observations. The game client itself contains a recurring three-hour Rift schedule, while some underlying client tables still reflect the Korean 02:00 server-clock pattern.
For that reason, this guide separates the verified three-hour recurrence from the currently observed Global UTC phase.
How Long Is a Spacetime Rift Open?
There are two different timers:
| Timer | Duration |
|---|---|
| Portal Entry Window | About 10 minutes |
| Time on Enemy Territory | About 60 minutes after entry |
Missing the entry window means waiting for the next three-hour cycle. Enter as early as possible rather than arriving at the portal near the end of the 10-minute window.

View All Aion 2 ServicesWhere Does the Spacetime Rift Take You?
| Your Faction | Start Region | Enemy Region |
|---|---|---|
| Elyos | Verteron | Altgard |
| Asmodian | Altgard | Verteron |
This is one of the main reasons Rifts matter at the current Global level cap: each faction normally progresses on its own home map, while a Rift temporarily opens the other side's exploration, monsters and regional objectives.
Eltnen and Morheim Rift records also exist in broader client data, but they belong to later progression and should not be treated as the primary current level-45 Global route.
Where Is the Spacetime Rift Portal?
There is no single permanent Rift coordinate.
The current quest data explicitly describes Spacetime Rifts as appearing at random locations at specific times. When one opens:
- a server-wide message is displayed;
- the active Rift appears on the world map;
- the portal can appear at different valid Rift locations;
- you should follow the current map marker rather than an old coordinate from a guide.
This makes a fixed list of coordinates less useful than it looks. Reference maps can show possible Rift points, but the active Rift marker in your current server is what matters.
Why Can't I See the Spacetime Rift?
Check these in order:
- Your level: current Global Rift content is level 45.
- The timer: the portal is not permanently visible.
- The entry window: it may already have closed.
- Your map: zoom out and look for the active Rift marker after the server message.
- Your faction: use the Rift that originates on your own side.
If the scheduled window has passed, wait for the next cycle instead of camping an old portal position.
How to Unlock Spacetime Rift Quests
At level 45, each faction receives its own seven-quest Regional chain.
Elyos
The chain begins with Mino in Verteron at the Abandoned Legion Outpost.
The first quest sends you through the Rift to Altgard and asks for Withered Armadon's Claw.
Asmodian
The chain begins with Uru in Altgard at the Collapsed Chasm.
The first quest sends you into Verteron and asks for Wandering Klaw's Shell.
The quest giver relocates as the chain progresses, so follow the Regional Quest marker rather than assuming Mino or Uru remains at the first location.

Spacetime Rift Quest Rewards
Current Global quest records give every quest in the seven-part chain several guaranteed rewards.
Common rewards include:
- 2,000 Abyss Points per quest;
- 1 Wisdom Stone;
- 1 Daevanion Crystal;
- Bound Kina;
- EXP;
- a title;
- an accessory or another special reward.
Seven quests at 2,000 AP each give 14,000 Abyss Points from the full faction chain.
Several quests also award Personal, Party or Legion Kisk Summoning Stones, which are particularly useful for Rift survival.
Should You Accept All Rift Quests Before Entering?
Yes. The most efficient approach is to have every currently available Rift quest in your log before using the short entry window.
The objectives are spread across the enemy map. Entering for one objective, returning home and waiting three hours for the next portal wastes a large amount of time.
A better strategy is:
- accept every available quest from Mino or Uru;
- enter at the beginning of a Rift;
- clear multiple quest objectives during the same hour;
- combine them with Pets, Sealed Dungeons or Strongholds along the route;
- turn everything in after returning home.
What Should You Do Inside a Spacetime Rift?
Rift quests are only one part of the value. The enemy continent also contains permanent exploration and collection objectives your faction cannot normally reach.
1. Finish the Seven Rift Quests
Do these first if you have not completed the chain. The AP, Daevanion Crystals, Wisdom Stones, accessories and titles make the questline one of the clearest one-time Rift priorities.
2. Clear Enemy Sealed Dungeons
The opposite faction's Sealed Dungeons become accessible while you are on their map.
These are short exploration instances, and enemy-side completion contributes additional progression that cannot be finished from your normal faction map.
See our AION 2 Sealed Dungeons Guide.
3. Clear Enemy Strongholds
Verteron and Altgard each contain Strongholds associated with their exploration progression. A Rift is your opportunity to finish the opposite side.
If you are doing a completion run, route nearby Strongholds together with Sealed Dungeons instead of crossing the continent repeatedly.
4. Farm Enemy-Faction Pet Souls
This has become one of the strongest reasons to use Rifts.
The current pet database contains dozens of monster-source pets that are faction-side specific. Elyos can use a Rift to farm Altgard Pet Souls, while Asmodians can collect Verteron sources.
See our AION 2 Pet Locations & Soul Farming Guide.
5. Hunt Field Bosses
If an enemy-map Field Boss is active during your Rift hour and your group is strong enough, it can be a valuable target.
Check the map before entering rather than spending Rift time flying around looking for a boss that is not currently available.
6. Farm Gathering and Exploration Objectives
Rifts also let you reach enemy-side:
- gathering nodes;
- regional exploration;
- Pet monsters;
- selected Hidden Cube locations;
- other map completion targets.
If you carry Hidden Cube Keys, our AION 2 Hidden Cube Map & Locations Guide can help plan a route.
Spacetime Rift PvP Rules
Entering the enemy map does not automatically mean you must spend the entire hour fighting players.
Under the current Global implementation, War Mode controls normal player-versus-player interaction. If you want to focus on quests and exploration, keep War Mode disabled.
However, the enemy continent is still dangerous:
- enemy faction guards remain hostile;
- approaching enemy settlements and Kibelisks can put you in danger;
- certain interactions or areas can create PvP exposure;
- players deliberately doing Rift PvP will patrol common routes.
If your goal is PvP and Abyss Points, enable the appropriate PvP mode and travel with a group rather than treating the enemy map as safe PvE territory.
For broader PvP progression, see our AION 2 Abyss & AP Guide.
Can You Use Enemy Kibelisks?
No. Do not treat enemy Kibelisks as safe respawn points.
Enemy guards can also punish players who approach protected settlements.
A better option is to use your own Kisk Summoning Stone in a safe location after entering the Rift. The quest chain itself rewards Personal, Party and Legion Kisk items at several stages.
What Happens If You Die Inside the Rift?
Death inside enemy territory can cost a large part of your limited hour if you have no safe Kisk or group recovery option.
Because enemy resurrection infrastructure is not yours, prepare before high-risk PvP or Field Boss attempts:
- place your own Kisk away from enemy guards;
- avoid enemy towns;
- stay with your group;
- finish mandatory quest objectives before optional PvP.
How Do You Return From a Spacetime Rift?
The enemy-side visit is temporary. When your Rift time expires, the game returns you to your faction side.
You should therefore plan the full hour rather than assuming you can stay indefinitely to finish exploration.
Best One-Hour Spacetime Rift Route
Your best route depends on what is unfinished on the enemy map.
First Rift
- accept every Rift quest;
- enter during the first few minutes;
- complete the quest objectives;
- unlock nearby enemy-map exploration;
- place a Kisk if needed;
- turn in the chain after returning.
Completion Rift
- choose one section of the enemy map;
- clear nearby Sealed Dungeons;
- clear nearby Strongholds;
- collect missing Pets along the same path;
- check a Field Boss only if it is active and nearby.
Pet Farming Rift
- make a list of faction-exclusive missing pets;
- pick one dense farm zone;
- get five Souls for each missing pet first;
- move to the next species instead of immediately farming 105 Souls;
- return for Lv2/Lv3 farming in later Rift windows.
Best Preparation Before a Rift Opens
- Reach level 45.
- Accept all available Rift quests.
- Repair and clear inventory space.
- Bring your normal consumables.
- Carry a Kisk Summoning Stone if you have one.
- Prepare a Pet or exploration target list.
- Check Field Boss availability before entering.
- Be near a valid Rift area before the opening.
- Use the live timer rather than relying on memory.
Common Spacetime Rift Mistakes
- Arriving after the 10-minute entry window.
- Using a Korean or Taiwan clock table as if it were confirmed for your Global region.
- Entering with only one Rift quest accepted.
- Searching an old fixed coordinate instead of the active map marker.
- Walking into an enemy settlement or Kibelisk.
- Spending the entire hour on Pets that can also be farmed on your home map.
- Trying to clear the whole enemy continent in one visit.
- Ignoring enemy Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds.
- Starting optional PvP before completing one-time quest objectives.
Are Spacetime Rifts Worth Doing?
Yes. Spacetime Rifts are required for several forms of cross-faction completion at the current Global level cap.
The seven quests alone provide 14,000 Abyss Points plus progression materials, titles and accessories. More importantly, Rifts open access to enemy-map Pet Souls, Sealed Dungeons, Strongholds and exploration that your character cannot normally complete from the home faction map.
After the one-time progression is finished, Rifts remain useful for enemy-faction Pet farming, selected world objectives and optional PvP.

How We Verified This Guide
This guide uses current AION 2 Global 2.0.7.0 quest data for level requirements, faction routes, quest objectives and rewards. Rift timing is separated into the verified recurring three-hour cycle and the currently observed EU/NA UTC phase because NC has not published a permanent official Global clock timetable. Client records from later regions are not presented as current level-45 Global progression.
