CS2 Dust II Smokes 2026: Best A, Mid & B Lineups

CS2 Dust II Smokes 2026: Best A, Mid & B Lineups

You do not need to memorize every Dust II grenade lineup before playing Premier. Start with utility that solves the map's most common problems: crossing toward Short, isolating CT on A, blocking B Doors and Window, and controlling Mid.

Dust II has a stable overall layout, so core utility remains useful for a long time. Valve's July 2026 update only fixed a pixel gap and clipping Outside Tunnel rather than redesigning the map.

Learn these first: Xbox Smoke, A Cross Smoke, CT Spawn Smoke, B Doors Smoke, B Window Smoke, Mid Doors Smoke, Long Doors Flash, Car Molotov and Goose Molotov.

Xbox Smoke

The Xbox Smoke is one of the most important utility pieces on Dust II.

Xbox sits between Top Mid and Catwalk. Smoking this area helps Ts cross toward Short without exposing themselves as heavily to Mid and CT sightlines.

Use the Xbox Smoke when:

  • taking Short early;
  • setting up a Long + Short A split;
  • forcing the CT Mid player away from a clean line;
  • showing Short pressure before a late rotate.

Why Xbox Smoke Matters

Short is one of the main ways to make A difficult to defend.

If your team cannot safely reach Catwalk, the CT side can concentrate much more attention on Long A.

Mid Doors Smoke

Mid Doors are one of Dust II's most important information and rotation areas.

A Mid Doors smoke can:

  • reduce AWP vision;
  • help Ts occupy deeper Mid;
  • prepare a Mid-to-B split;
  • make rotations harder to read.

CT Spawn Smoke

The CT Spawn Smoke is essential for Mid-to-B.

When Ts control Mid, smoking CT Spawn isolates one of the main defensive rotation lines and lets players pressure B Doors more safely.

A basic Mid-to-B structure is:

  1. take Mid;
  2. smoke CT Spawn;
  3. pressure B Doors;
  4. coordinate with players in Upper Tunnels;
  5. attack B from two directions.

Why Mid-to-B Is Strong

A normal B rush forces every T through Upper Tunnels.

Mid-to-B creates pressure from:

  • Tunnels;
  • B Doors / Mid.

The B defenders can no longer focus on a single doorway.

Best A Site Smokes

A Cross Smoke

A Cross Smoke helps Long players move toward the bombsite while reducing exposure to CT Spawn and deeper defensive sightlines.

Current Dust II utility databases include A Cross versions from the Long Doors area.

CT Smoke

The CT Smoke isolates the defensive rotation during an A hit.

It is especially useful when your team already has:

  • Long control;
  • Short pressure;
  • players ready to cross toward site.

Short Smoke

A Short-side smoke can remove one defensive sightline during an A execute, but do not automatically smoke a route your own teammate already controls.

Car Molotov

Car is a dangerous Long-side position because a CT can play close to the A approach and punish players focused on the site.

A molotov is often better than a smoke because it forces the defender to move.

Goose Molotov

Goose is one of Dust II's classic A Site hiding positions.

Use a molotov when your execute is about to arrive rather than throwing it so early that the fire disappears before the site entry.

Simple Long + Short A Execute

  1. take Long with flashes;
  2. use Xbox Smoke for Short access;
  3. establish Catwalk pressure;
  4. throw A Cross / CT isolation utility;
  5. molotov Car or Goose if needed;
  6. flash over A;
  7. activate Long and Short together;
  8. plant for the side your team controls.

Best B Site Smokes

B Doors Smoke

B Doors is one of the highest-value B smokes.

It removes a major CT rotation and retake sightline.

Current CS2 lineup databases include B Doors throws from:

  • Outside B Tunnels;
  • Upper Tunnels;
  • T Spawn.

You do not need every variation. Learn one lineup that naturally fits your team's route.

B Window Smoke

B Window is another powerful CT position.

Smoking Window together with B Doors drastically reduces the number of directions the first T players need to fight.

A current CS2 B Window lineup from Outside B Tunnels remains listed in updated lineup databases in 2026.

B Site Smoke

Site-specific smoke variants can divide deeper defenders from the Tunnel entry.

Use them only when they solve a specific angle. Do not throw extra smokes simply because you know the lineup.

Back Plat Molotov

Back Plat is a classic deep defensive position.

A molotov can force the defender away before the bomb carrier commits to the plant.

B Window Molotov

A Window molotov is useful when you want the CT out of Window rather than merely hidden behind a smoke.

This is especially relevant when the smoke is about to expire.

Simple B Execute

  1. establish Upper Tunnels control;
  2. smoke B Doors;
  3. smoke or molotov Window;
  4. molotov Back Plat if needed;
  5. flash over the site;
  6. enter in trading distance;
  7. clear close boxes and B Car;
  8. check Back Plat;
  9. plant only after the main deep positions are safe.

B Doors + Window Smoke Combo

This is the core B-site smoke package.

With both blocked, the T entry can focus much more attention on:

  • site boxes;
  • B Car;
  • Back Plat;
  • close Tunnel positions.

Best Long A Utility

Long Doors Pop Flash

A well-timed flash can decide the opening Long fight.

The first players should already be ready to move when the flash pops.

Correct timing:

flash → entry → immediate trade.

Long Doors CT Incendiary

CTs can use incendiary utility around the Long Doors exit to:

  • slow an early Long rush;
  • separate the first player from support;
  • force Ts to use a smoke;
  • buy time for A support.

Long Smoke

Some setups use a smoke to reduce CT vision around the Long Doors fight.

This is especially useful when your objective is to take Long space rather than immediately commit to A.

Best CT Utility on Dust II

B Tunnels Anti-Rush Smoke

A B Tunnels smoke delays one of the fastest direct attacks on the map.

It buys time for:

  • a second B player;
  • Mid information;
  • rotation support;
  • additional defensive grenades.

B Tunnels Incendiary

An incendiary can force Ts to stop, extinguish the fire or run through damage.

Short Anti-Rush Molotov

CT utility toward Short/Catwalk can break fast Catwalk timings and protect the A player from immediate multi-angle pressure.

Do Old Dust II Smokes Still Work?

Many classic Dust II concepts still work, but exact pixels should always be tested in CS2.

Old CS:GO lineups can differ because of:

  • CS2 grenade behavior;
  • different clipping;
  • geometry adjustments;
  • changed visual aim references;
  • smoke volume and interaction.

Dust II itself has remained relatively stable in 2026, but Valve still adjusted Outside Tunnel clipping in July.

Best practice: learn the strategic target first — Xbox, CT, B Doors, Window — then verify the exact throw in the current game.

How to Learn a Lineup Faster

  1. learn the standing position;
  2. choose one clear visual reference;
  3. remember whether it is standing, running or jump-throw;
  4. land it five times consecutively;
  5. use noclip to inspect the smoke;
  6. use rethrow to view it from the defender's side;
  7. practice reaching the lineup during a realistic round.

If You Only Learn Six Dust II Smokes

  1. Xbox Smoke;
  2. A Cross Smoke;
  3. CT Spawn Smoke;
  4. B Doors Smoke;
  5. B Window Smoke;
  6. Mid Doors Smoke.

Then add Car and Goose molotovs plus your Long and B entry flashes.

Common Dust II Utility Mistakes

  • knowing the lineup but not the reason for throwing it;
  • smoking Xbox with no player actually taking Short;
  • throwing CT Smoke before the team is ready to execute;
  • smoking B Doors but forgetting Window;
  • entering B before the flashes arrive;
  • using a smoke on Goose when a molotov should force the player out;
  • throwing Long flashes too early;
  • using all CT utility in the first 20 seconds;
  • copying CS:GO pixels without testing them in CS2.

Dust II Utility Checklist

  • Xbox Smoke;
  • Mid Doors Smoke;
  • CT Spawn Smoke;
  • A Cross Smoke;
  • Car Molotov;
  • Goose Molotov;
  • Long Doors Flash;
  • B Doors Smoke;
  • B Window Smoke;
  • Back Plat Molotov;
  • B Entry Flash;
  • B Tunnels CT Smoke/Incendiary.
Bottom line: Dust II utility is simple when you connect every grenade to a route. Xbox opens Short, CT Smoke enables Mid-to-B, Cross utility helps Long reach A, and B Doors + Window isolate the B site.
