To get to Naigtal in WoW Midnight, begin the introductory questline from Riftblade Maella in Silvermoon City. Complete the quests that establish the expedition in Voidstorm, open the Greater Void Portal, and travel through the Mana Rift to Naigtal.
After the introduction is complete, you can return through the Showdown portal in Silvermoon or the Greater Void Portal in Voidstorm. Naigtal and Val rotate weekly, so the portal only offers Naigtal during the week when Naigtal is active.

The portals do not provide access until the introductory questline has been completed. If the portal is missing, return to Riftblade Maella and check whether an Important quest from the unlock chain is still unfinished.
How to Unlock Naigtal for the First Time
The unlock begins in Silvermoon City and is available to eligible Midnight characters from level 80. Blizzard now marks the required access quests as Important quests, making the chain easier to identify in the quest log and on the map.
- Travel to Silvermoon City.
- Find Riftblade Maella near the Field Accolade quartermasters at

- Complete Stalkers of the Stars.

World Quests and rare enemies may already be visible after you first enter the zone, but completing the final introduction quests is still recommended. They establish the base camp and enable the introduction skip for other characters in your Warband.
Why Does the Portal Show Val Instead of Naigtal?
Naigtal and Val use a weekly rotation. Only one of the two Showdown zones is active during each weekly reset, and the portal does not allow you to select the inactive destination.
If the portal currently shows Val, there is no second hidden portal that leads to Naigtal. You must wait until the next weekly reset changes the active destination.

How to Get to Naigtal on an Alt
After completing the Naigtal introduction on one character, Riftblade Maella provides a Warband skip for future characters. The skip bypasses most of the recruitment and zone-establishment quests.
- Log in on the alt you want to bring to Naigtal.
- Travel to Riftblade Maella in Silvermoon City.
- Accept the introductory Important quest if it was added automatically.
- Select the dialogue option indicating that another character has already completed the expedition.
- Use the unlocked Silvermoon or Voidstorm portal to enter the active zone.
The skip is tied to completion of the introduction for that destination. If no skip appears, verify that your first character completed Surveying the Mana-Bog and A Swampy Welcome to Naigtal, rather than leaving immediately after entering the zone.
How to Unlock the Second Showdown Zone
If you first completed Val and Naigtal becomes active after the next reset, Riftblade Maella offers the quest needed to establish access to the second destination.
Check her locations in either Silvermoon City or next to the Greater Void Portal in Voidstorm. The second-zone questline is shorter because the main expedition has already been assembled, but you should continue until that zone’s Umbral Base Camp is established.
Normal or Heroic World Tier
Interacting with the Showdown portal opens an interface in which you can select Normal or Heroic World Tier before entering Naigtal.

Heroic World Tier is available to level 90 characters once the Greater Void Portal has been unlocked. It does not require a separate introductory campaign, but the enemies are substantially stronger and include additional elite patrols and modifiers.
Choose Normal when your objective is exploration or a collectible such as the Dusty Redcap. Choose Heroic when you specifically need the increased rewards or Heroic Showdown achievements.
Can You Fly in Naigtal?
No. Naigtal functions as a scenario-style Showdown zone rather than a normal open-world continent. Flying and Skyriding are disabled.
Movement around the zone relies on ground mounts, local teleportation networks, Bouncy Mushrooms, Aerospores, grappling points, and other zone abilities unlocked through quests.
How to Return to the Umbral Base Camp
Completing A Swampy Welcome to Naigtal rewards the Lightveil Recall Beacon. While you are inside Naigtal or Val, the toy returns you to the active Umbral Base Camp.
The beacon is useful for returning from distant rare spawns, caves, and collectible locations, but it is not a replacement for the Silvermoon or Voidstorm entrance portal.

Once Naigtal is unlocked, you can participate in:

- Showdown weekly quests
- Rare and elite enemies
- Nexus-Captain Leth’ir and Adjutant Mertei world boss encounter

- Treasures and cosmetic rewards
- Mount and battle pet collections
One of the most searched secrets in the zone is the hidden Sleepy Mandrake pet. The collection begins with several mushrooms, including the Dusty Redcap found inside Vilaldoun Crypt.
Common Naigtal Access Problems
The Portal to Naigtal Is Missing
The portal does not appear before the introduction is complete. Return to Riftblade Maella in Silvermoon and finish the Important quests beginning with The Time to Strike.
The Portal Only Leads to Val
This is not a bug. Val is the active weekly Showdown zone. Naigtal becomes available again after the zone rotation changes at a weekly reset.
Riftblade Maella Has No Quest
Check your quest log for an automatically accepted Important quest. You may already have The Time to Strike or another part of the introduction in progress.
Also check Maella’s second location next to the Greater Void Portal in Voidstorm, particularly when unlocking the second Showdown destination.
The Alt Skip Does Not Appear
Your first character may not have completed the entire Naigtal introduction. Finish Surveying the Mana-Bog and A Swampy Welcome to Naigtal, then speak to Maella again on the alt.
I Am Looking at the Old Legion Naigtal
Midnight’s Naigtal is an expanded Patch 12.0.7 Showdown zone. It should not be confused with the older Legion Invasion Point: Naigtal, which is a separate version of the location from Patch 7.3.
I Cannot Select Heroic World Tier
Your character must be level 90, and the Greater Void Portal must already be unlocked. Heroic is selected from the portal interface before entering the active zone.
