Razorfen Kraul (RFK) has seven core dungeon-related quests in WoW Forever: two available to both factions, two Alliance-only quests, and three Horde-only quests, including the item-started An Unholy Alliance. Warriors also have a separate class-quest objective involving Roogug. This guide shows where to pick up each quest, its minimum level, what to complete inside the dungeon, and where to turn it in.
The most important preparation is simple: collect the Blueleaf Tubers tools in Ratchet, complete Lonebrow's Journal if you're Alliance, and pick up the Thunder Bluff and Undercity quests if you're Horde. Inside RFK, remember the optional Warrior objective, loot Charlga Razorflank, and complete Willix's escort before leaving.
All Razorfen Kraul Quests in WoW Forever
RFK is a five-player dungeon in the southern Barrens, with a typical progression range around levels 29–38. Quest pickup requirements are lower than the recommended dungeon range, so a level 20 character being eligible for Blueleaf Tubers does not mean a level 20 group is ready for a full clear.
| Quest | Faction | Min. Level | Quest Giver |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blueleaf Tubers | Both | 20 | Mebok Mizzyrix, Ratchet |
| Willix the Importer | Both | 22 | Willix, inside RFK |
| Mortality Wanes | Alliance | 25 | Heralath Fallowbrook, inside RFK |
| The Crone of the Kraul | Alliance | 29 | Falfindel Waywarder, Feralas |
| A Vengeful Fate | Horde | 29 | Auld Stonespire, Thunder Bluff |
| Going, Going, Guano! | Horde | 30 | Master Apothecary Faranell, Undercity |
| An Unholy Alliance | Horde | 28 | Small Scroll, dropped by Charlga Razorflank |
The first six quests appear in Wowhead's main Forever RFK dungeon list. An Unholy Alliance is an additional item-started chain listed separately in the Forever quest records and dungeon guides. That distinction explains why some databases display six quests while others display seven. Class-specific Warrior objectives are not counted among these seven.
Where to Pick Up Every Quest Before RFK
Neutral: Blueleaf Tubers
Minimum level: 20. Quest giver: Mebok Mizzyrix in Ratchet, The Barrens, approximately 62.4, 37.6. Both Alliance and Horde can complete it.
Before traveling to RFK, collect the three required objects near Mebok:
- Crate With Holes — used to summon a Snufflenose Gopher.
- Snufflenose Command Stick — directs the gopher to search.
- Snufflenose Owner's Manual — required among the quest items.
Inside the dungeon, use the crate and command stick to uncover and collect six Blueleaf Tubers. Despite the quest name, the roots you interact with can appear red. The platforms leading toward the bat section are useful places to look for buried tubers.
Return all required items and the six tubers to Mebok in Ratchet. The reward is A Small Container of Gems.
Alliance: The Crone of the Kraul
Minimum level: 29. This quest requires a preceding step: Lonebrow's Journal.
- Travel to the bottom of the Great Lift in Thousand Needles.
- Find the deceased dwarf and recover Lonebrow's Journal.
- Deliver the journal to Falfindel Waywarder near the Feralas–Thousand Needles border, around Feralas 89.6, 46.4.
- Accept The Crone of the Kraul before entering RFK.
- Defeat Charlga Razorflank and collect Razorflank's Medallion.
- Return to Falfindel Waywarder to claim your reward.
The Forever quest data includes Berylline Pads, Stonefist Girdle, and Marbled Buckler as equipment choices, plus a Quilboar Blaster listed as an additional reward. Check the live quest window for the final reward configuration.
Horde: A Vengeful Fate
Minimum level: 29. Pick up A Vengeful Fate from Auld Stonespire in Thunder Bluff, approximately 36.8, 59.6.
The objective is to defeat Charlga Razorflank and obtain Razorflank's Heart. Return the heart to Auld Stonespire. The equipment choices include Berylline Pads, Stonefist Girdle, and Marbled Buckler. The Forever database also lists Quilboar Blaster as an additional reward.
Horde: Going, Going, Guano!
Minimum level: 30. Talk to Master Apothecary Faranell in the Apothecarium, Undercity, approximately 48.6, 69.6.
Collect one Kraul Guano from the bats inside RFK. Kraul Bats and Greater Kraul Bats are the relevant enemies in the deeper bat section. Turn the quest in to Faranell for experience and currency.
Completing this quest opens the route toward Hearts of Zeal, a separate quest involving Scarlet Monastery. You do not need to finish Hearts of Zeal during your RFK run.
Quests You Start Inside Razorfen Kraul
Willix the Importer — Escort Quest
Minimum level: 22. Both factions can accept Willix the Importer inside the dungeon. He is held in a tent in the section reached around and below Charlga Razorflank's area.
Willix must be escorted toward the dungeon exit. This is not a delivery quest to Ratchet; Willix himself is both the starting and completion NPC. Clear the surrounding enemies, make sure everyone in the group has accepted the quest, and only then begin the escort.
The Forever reward choices include Monkey Ring, Snake Hoop, Tiger Band, and Boar Signet. The quest also awards Ratchet reputation.
Mortality Wanes — Alliance Only
Minimum level: 25. Speak to Heralath Fallowbrook inside RFK, near the section containing Willix.
He asks you to find Treshala's Pendant, which can drop from quillboar enemies in the dungeon. The important complication is that the quest begins relatively deep inside RFK. If your group has already cleared most of the quillboar, you may need to kill remaining enemies or complete another run to obtain the pendant.
Turn the quest in to Treshala Fallowbrook on the Tradesmen's Terrace in Darnassus, around 69.4, 67.4. The Forever reward list includes Lancer Boots, Sentinel's Boots, and Mourning Shawl.
An Unholy Alliance — Horde Only
Minimum level: 28. Charlga Razorflank can drop a Small Scroll that starts An Unholy Alliance. Check the boss loot carefully before your group leaves.
Read the scroll to accept the quest and deliver it to Varimathras in Undercity's Royal Quarter. This starts a follow-up connected to Razorfen Downs and Ambassador Malcin. The follow-up belongs to later Razorfen Downs progression, not the current RFK clear.

Warrior Class Quest: Roogug and the Vial of Phlogiston
Warriors have a separate class-related objective in RFK. Horde Warriors progressing through Brutal Armor and Alliance Warriors completing Fire Hardened Mail need a Vial of Phlogiston from Roogug.
Roogug is in an optional early branch of the dungeon. In the classic route, take the left-hand branch near the first major junction and cross the thorn bridge to reach his area. Tell your group you need Roogug before starting; a group following the shortest route to Charlga may bypass him.
The Warrior questlines also require materials gathered outside the dungeon. RFK supplies the Phlogiston objective, not all of the materials needed to finish the armor quest.
Best One-Run Route for All RFK Quests
This route is designed to avoid unnecessary second visits. It is a practical quest-completion order, not a claim of measured fastest clear time.
- Before traveling: Alliance completes Lonebrow's Journal and accepts The Crone of the Kraul. Horde collects A Vengeful Fate and Going, Going, Guano!. Both factions pick up Blueleaf Tubers in Ratchet and collect all three gopher tools.
- At the entrance: Confirm that every group member has the appropriate quests. Warriors should request the Roogug detour.
- Early dungeon: Complete the optional Roogug objective if needed and start collecting Blueleaf Tubers.
- Bat section: Horde players collect Kraul Guano. Continue checking for tubers and clear enemies along the route.
- Charlga Razorflank: Kill the final boss, loot the Alliance medallion or Horde heart, and check for the Small Scroll.
- Deep dungeon area: Speak to Heralath if Alliance, locate Willix, and collect remaining quest objectives.
- Escort last: Start Willix's escape after the surrounding route is cleared. Confirm completion before leaving the instance.
- Turn-ins: Return to Ratchet for Blueleaf Tubers; Alliance goes to Feralas and Darnassus; Horde returns to Thunder Bluff and Undercity.
For Alliance players, Mortality Wanes is the main reason a second run may be necessary: the pendant is a random drop from enemies that may already be dead when the quest is accepted.

RFK Entrance and Preparation
Razorfen Kraul is in the southern Barrens, west of the road to the Great Lift into Thousand Needles, around 42.9, 90.2 on the Barrens map. Horde players can travel south from Camp Taurajo. Alliance players commonly approach from Ratchet or via Theramore and Dustwallow Marsh, depending on available travel routes.
Bring a normal five-player group with a tank, healer, and damage dealers suited to the dungeon's level range. Leave inventory space for quest items, bring the gopher tools, and make sure each player knows whether they need Charlga's drop, Roogug, or the Willix escort.
The broader WoW Forever Dungeon Quests Guide compares quest preparation across other instances. If you're following a specific leveling route, refer to our Horde or Alliance leveling guides.
