How to Unlock Gnarldor Isle
Gnarldor Isle is unlocked as part of the Curse of Ula’tek content introduced in Patch 12.1. Players first gain access to the Coiled Isle through the continuing Midnight campaign, which follows the conflict surrounding Zul’jan, Zul’jarra and the island’s buried history.
The Delve is not a separate raid or dungeon queue. After reaching the Coiled Isle and unlocking its content, players can select Gnarldor Isle from the Delve interface or travel to its entrance in the zone. Delves are designed for solo players and small groups, so a full dungeon group is not required.
Valeera Sanguinar serves as the Midnight Delve companion. She can support the player in different roles and gains additional capabilities through companion progression. Her role and available abilities should be adjusted to complement the player’s specialization rather than treated as a fixed requirement for Gnarldor Isle.

Where Is Gnarldor Isle?
Gnarldor Isle is located in the Coiled Isle, the new outdoor zone introduced with Curse of Ula’tek. The Coiled Isle lies off the eastern coast of Zul’Aman and contains several activities in addition to its Delves, including the Vaults of Atal’Utek, public events, Curse Surges, Cursed Fishing, rare enemies and Lairs.
Use the Delves section of the Journeys interface to identify Gnarldor Isle after it becomes available. The interface is also used to check Delve progression, companion information and the variants currently associated with individual Delves.
Gnarldor Isle Variants
Gnarldor Isle uses the variant system shared by Midnight Delves. A variant changes the presentation and objectives of the Delve while keeping the same general structure: enter the scenario, complete its tasks, defeat hostile groups, overcome hazards and finish the final encounter before entering the treasure room.
Blizzard has confirmed that Delve variants can be checked from the map and that each Delve contains several storylines. The exact finalized names and full rotation for Gnarldor Isle require confirmation from the live game.
What Changes Between Variants?

Some scenarios can require interacting with objects, moving through a hazardous area or completing a short chain of tasks before the final encounter becomes available.
Keep Valeera close enough to participate in combat, especially when playing alone. Avoid pulling several elite groups while the companion is repositioning or while a variant objective is still active. If the scenario includes poisonous ground effects or venom-related hazards, prioritize movement and defensive cooldowns over maximizing damage uptime.
Gnarldor Isle Bosses and Final Encounters
Every completed Gnarldor Isle run ends with a boss or final encounter. The encounter is tied to the active story variant, so players should not assume that every run uses the same boss, arena or mechanic set.
The complete list of Gnarldor Isle boss names and finalized abilities has not been officially documented yet. Do not confuse these encounters with the Season 2 Nemesis boss in Venomfall Deeps. Gnarldor Isle is one of the three new standard Delves, while Venomfall Deeps is the separate Nemesis Delve designed around the seasonal Nemesis system.
Practical Boss Strategy
- Clear the area before starting the encounter. Remove nearby enemies and identify hazards so the boss fight does not overlap with unnecessary trash pulls.
- Read the objective and boss emotes. Variant encounters may use visual warnings, interactable objects or movement requirements rather than a conventional stationary tank-and-spank setup.
- Keep the boss away from hazards. If the encounter creates venom pools, poison clouds or other damaging areas, move the boss only when necessary and preserve safe space around the arena.
- Interrupt dangerous casts. Delve enemies can use abilities that punish players who ignore casts. Save interrupts for control effects, large damage spells or abilities that strengthen nearby enemies.
- Use Valeera’s role deliberately. A damage-oriented setup can shorten simple encounters, while a defensive or supportive configuration is safer when the variant contains heavy incoming damage.
- Do not spend every defensive cooldown immediately. Keep at least one defensive ability available for a major cast, an unavoidable hazard or the final phase.
Exact boss mechanics should be added after the live encounter data is confirmed. Until then, a complete ability-by-ability table would risk mixing unfinished test-build behavior with the final version.
Gnarldor Isle Delve Progression
Gnarldor Isle follows the normal Delve progression model. Players complete the scenario at a selected tier, and the difficulty determines the strength of the Delve’s rewards. Higher tiers increase enemy strength and make mistakes more expensive, particularly when the active variant includes additional hazards or elite groups.
Delve progression is separate from the Coiled Isle’s outdoor systems. Completing Gnarldor Isle does not automatically grant Captain Tokka reputation, Corrosive Souls or Corrosive Coins unless a specific quest or reward source states otherwise. Those systems belong to other activities on the Coiled Isle and should not be treated as interchangeable with Delve progression.
Bountiful Gnarldor Isle Runs
With the start of Midnight Season 2, Bountiful Delves and their associated keys become available. A Bountiful Gnarldor Isle run provides access to the stronger Bountiful Coffer reward when the player has the required key.
The available Bountiful Delves rotate, so Gnarldor Isle is not necessarily Bountiful every day. Check the Delver’s Guide before beginning a farming session. If Gnarldor Isle is marked as Bountiful, it can be a useful option for players who want to combine a Delve completion with seasonal gear progression.
Gnarldor Isle Rewards
Gnarldor Isle uses the standard Delve reward structure. The final treasure room can provide gear appropriate to the completed tier, Undercoin, companion progression items, crafting-related rewards, cosmetics, quest items and other Delve rewards.

Do not assume that completing a particular Gnarldor Isle variant guarantees a mount, pet or cosmetic item. Such rewards may be tied to achievements, vendors, a seasonal progression track or random reward sources. The final source and availability of each named cosmetic should be checked against the live achievement and collection data.
Gnarldor Isle and the Great Vault
Delves contribute to the world-activity portion of the Great Vault. The number and difficulty of completed activities determine which slots are unlocked and the quality of the available rewards. Gnarldor Isle therefore has value beyond its end chest, particularly for players who are already completing several Delves each week.
The Great Vault reward is not guaranteed to contain an item from Gnarldor Isle. Its contents are generated from the applicable world-activity reward pool and should be treated separately from the Delve’s personal loot.
