Need Help with Mythic+ Progress?

Venomfall Deeps is the Midnight Season 2 Nemesis Delve introduced with Patch 12.1: Curse of Ula’tek. It is located on the Coiled Isle and follows the seasonal Nemesis format, adding a stronger final encounter and Delve-specific progression to a standard exploration run. The Delve is designed for solo players and small groups using Brann Bronzebeard, and it becomes part of the Season 2 Bountiful Delve and Nemesis reward structure when the season begins.

What Is the Venomfall Deeps Nemesis Delve?

Venomfall Deeps is one of two regular Delves added on the Coiled Isle, alongside the Ring of Glory and Gnarldor Isle. Unlike those standard Delves, Venomfall Deeps is the dedicated Season 2 Nemesis Delve.

A Nemesis Delve uses the normal Delve exploration structure but adds a more dangerous seasonal opponent and a higher level of encounter pressure. The Nemesis element is separate from the ordinary enemies found throughout the route: the final opponent is the main feature of the run, and players should prepare for a boss encounter rather than treating the Delve as a simple trash-clearing activity.

Venomfall Deeps is therefore best approached as a progression activity for players who want to continue advancing Delve rewards without immediately moving into Mythic+ dungeons or raids. Its rewards belong to the Season 2 Delve ecosystem rather than the dungeon or raid loot tables.

How to Unlock Venomfall Deeps

Venomfall Deeps becomes available through the Patch 12.1 Delve content on the Coiled Isle. Players should first gain access to the new zone and continue the introductory content that unlocks its activities. The exact quest name and account-wide unlock behavior should be checked again when the live version is released.

  1. Complete the opening Patch 12.1 campaign content that sends your character to the Coiled Isle.
  2. Reach the island’s main activity hub and unlock access to its Delves.
  3. Open the Delves interface and select Venomfall Deeps from the Season 2 options.
  4. Choose a suitable difficulty and enter alone or with a small group.
  5. Complete the objective, defeat the Nemesis encounter and claim the available rewards.

The ordinary Delves on the Coiled Isle and Venomfall Deeps serve different purposes. The Ring of Glory and Gnarldor Isle are regular new Delves, while Venomfall Deeps is the seasonal Nemesis option. Do not assume that completing one of the regular Coiled Isle Delves automatically completes the Nemesis activity.

When Does the Nemesis Path Become Available?

Patch 12.1 introduces the Coiled Isle and the new Delve locations, while Midnight Season 2 activates the seasonal reward structure. The current Patch 12.1 information states that Bountiful Delves and the new Nemesis boss become available with Season 2.

This means players may be able to visit or test the Delve before the season is fully active, but the complete seasonal Nemesis reward path should be treated as a Season 2 feature. The final regional launch timing and any requirements attached to the live Nemesis interface still require confirmation.

How the Venomfall Deeps Nemesis Path Works

The Nemesis path is the part of the Delve that leads to the seasonal boss encounter. Your run still consists of exploration, combat and an objective, but the final section places greater emphasis on preparation and execution.

1. Enter with a Delve Companion Plan

Brann Bronzebeard remains the central companion for Delves. His role, combat behavior and available seasonal options should be reviewed before entering higher difficulties. Damage dealers and healers should consider how much support they need from Brann, while tanks should account for the additional pressure created by elite enemies and the Nemesis boss.

Do not select companion options purely for damage if your character is already struggling to survive. A slower but more stable run is preferable to reaching the final encounter with depleted cooldowns, limited healing resources or unnecessary injuries.

2. Complete the Delve Objective

Venomfall Deeps is not only a boss arena. Players must progress through the Delve, handle its enemies and complete the active objective before reaching the final encounter. The exact objective text and route details may differ between scenarios or test builds, so follow the in-game tracker rather than relying on a fixed route.

Check side rooms before moving forward when they contain useful resources, but avoid unnecessary pulls if they create additional risk. Delves reward careful control more reliably than uncontrolled chain-pulling.

3. Manage Venom-Themed Hazards

The Coiled Isle and Patch 12.1 Delves use snake- and venom-themed content. Players should expect poison-related hazards, hostile serpentine creatures and mechanics that punish standing in harmful areas or allowing dangerous enemies to remain active.

Bring or use reliable tools for dealing with poison effects when your class provides them. Interrupts, dispels, crowd control and defensive cooldowns are particularly valuable when an enemy can apply a harmful effect repeatedly. The exact names and numerical values of Venomfall Deeps abilities are not yet sufficiently finalized for a complete live interrupt table.

4. Reach the Nemesis Encounter

The Nemesis boss is the final combat test of the run. Save major cooldowns when possible, but do not delay them so long that earlier enemies become unnecessarily dangerous. Before pulling, confirm that Brann is ready, your character has recovered from avoidable damage and the arena does not contain an unresolved hazard.

On higher difficulties, the final encounter should be treated like a compact boss fight rather than an ordinary elite. Identify the boss’s cast bar, watch the ground beneath your character and keep an escape route available. If the encounter includes summoned enemies, prioritize them according to the in-game mechanics instead of assuming that the boss should always remain the only target.

Venomfall Deeps Boss Mechanics

The currently available official and reliable preview information confirms Venomfall Deeps as the Season 2 Nemesis Delve, but it does not provide a finalized, complete list of the live boss’s ability names, timers, damage values or role-specific mechanics. Those details should not be presented as final before the encounter has been verified on the live realm.

The following principles are safe for preparing a first run:

SituationRecommended response
Boss cast beginsInterrupt dangerous casts whenever possible and use defensive cooldowns for unavoidable abilities.
Ground effects appearMove immediately and avoid overlapping harmful areas with Brann or group members.
Poison or venom debuffUse an available dispel, cleanse or class utility tool when appropriate; otherwise follow the encounter’s intended movement or mitigation mechanic.
Additional enemies spawnControl or defeat them before they overwhelm the arena, unless the encounter specifically requires continued boss focus.
Heavy incoming damageUse personal defensives, healing potions and class utility before reaching critical health.
Boss repositioningKeep the boss away from hazards and maintain enough space for movement mechanics.

Tank Responsibilities

  • Keep the Nemesis boss positioned away from avoidable hazards and the group.
  • Watch for frontal attacks, area effects and movement abilities.
  • Use active mitigation before large or predictable damage rather than after the hit lands.
  • Pick up summoned enemies quickly if they threaten Brann or other players.
  • Avoid dragging the boss across unexplored areas that could activate additional enemies.

Healer Responsibilities

  • Remove or heal poison-related effects when the encounter allows it.
  • Prepare cooldowns for periods of unavoidable group damage.
  • Keep Brann healthy if his survival is important to the run.
  • Prioritize movement and survival over unnecessary damage during dangerous mechanics.
  • Watch for players who remain in venom or ground effects.

DPS Responsibilities

  • Interrupt dangerous casts and stop enemy abilities whenever possible.
  • Move out of harmful areas without waiting for a low-health warning.
  • Switch to priority adds if they apply severe debuffs or threaten the group.
  • Use defensive abilities instead of relying entirely on external healing.
  • Save burst damage for confirmed burn phases once the live mechanics are documented.

A practical starting order is to unlock the Coiled Isle activities, complete at least one standard Delve and then enter Venomfall Deeps at a difficulty your character can handle consistently. This gives you an opportunity to evaluate the zone’s enemy types, venom effects and movement requirements before adding the Nemesis encounter.

  • Repair your equipment and carry healing potions.
  • Set up interrupts, dispels and defensive cooldowns where they are easy to track.
  • Choose Brann options that address your character’s main weakness.
  • Use food, flasks or other consumables appropriate to your difficulty.
  • Do not spend every major cooldown immediately before the final boss.
  • Read the objective tracker and encounter warnings instead of following a memorized route.
  • Group up when learning the Delve if solo attempts repeatedly fail at the final encounter.

Venomfall Deeps Rewards

Venomfall Deeps provides rewards through the Season 2 Delve system. The activity should be considered alongside Bountiful Delves, Delve companion progression and the broader Midnight Season 2 gearing path.

Reward categoryHow it relates to Venomfall Deeps
Delve equipmentEarned from completing the Delve and opening its available reward containers.
Season 2 Delve rewardsConnected to the seasonal Delve reward structure that begins with Midnight Season 2.
Bountiful Delve rewardsAvailable when the activity qualifies as a Bountiful Delve and the character has the required key or access item.
Nemesis rewardsAssociated with defeating the seasonal Nemesis encounter; exact final reward details require live confirmation.
Delve progressionSupports continued companion and Delve progression rather than raid-specific or Mythic+-specific progression.

Do not treat a successful Venomfall Deeps completion as a guaranteed source of a particular item, mount or cosmetic unless the live reward panel explicitly lists it as guaranteed. Delve loot can depend on difficulty, activity state and the applicable seasonal reward rules.

Venomfall Deeps and Bountiful Delves

Bountiful Delves are the higher-value version of Delve activities and use separate access requirements from ordinary runs. When Venomfall Deeps is available as a Bountiful Delve, players should verify the required key, reward chest and difficulty before entering.

Use your limited Bountiful access carefully. If the goal is character gearing, compare the available reward level and Great Vault progress with other Season 2 activities. If the goal is Nemesis progression, cosmetics or Delve achievements, the value of Venomfall Deeps may be different from the value of a regular Bountiful Delve.

Common Venomfall Deeps Mistakes

Ignoring the Nemesis boss until the end

The final encounter is the reason to preserve resources throughout the run. Avoid unnecessary deaths, wasteful pulls and preventable damage so that your character and Brann reach the boss in fighting condition.

Standing in venom effects

Poison-themed encounters often make avoidable ground damage look similar to the surrounding environment. Keep your camera positioned so that hazards remain visible, and move early when the game signals an area attack.

Using every interrupt on minor enemies

Interrupting ordinary casts is useful, but retain at least one reliable stop for an ability that can create lethal pressure. Coordinate interrupts in groups rather than allowing several players to interrupt the same cast.

Overpulling with Brann

Brann can improve a run, but he does not remove the need for controlled pulls. Pulling multiple elite packs at once can overwhelm healing and defensive resources, particularly when the Delve difficulty increases.

Assuming preview mechanics are final

Ability names, damage values, enemy compositions and reward quantities can change during testing. Use the live encounter journal and in-game tooltips as the final reference after Patch 12.1 and Season 2 are active.

Is Venomfall Deeps Worth Running?

Venomfall Deeps is worth running for players who prefer solo or small-group progression, want to experience the Season 2 Nemesis format or need another source of Delve-related rewards. It is also a useful bridge between ordinary outdoor content and more structured group activities such as Mythic+ dungeons and the Venomous Abyss raid.

Players focused exclusively on raid or Mythic+ gearing should compare its final live item rewards with the Great Vault, dungeon and raid options before deciding how much weekly time to invest. Players who enjoy Delves, companion progression and seasonal objectives should treat Venomfall Deeps as one of the central solo activities of Midnight Season 2.
