WoW 12.0.7 Adds Sporefall, Omnium Folio, and New Weekly Activities

World of Warcraft patch 12.0.7, Midnight: Revelations, launches on June 16 in North America and June 17 in Europe. The update adds several new activities tied to the fight against the Void, including Sporefall, Omnium Folio, the rotating Val and Naigtal Showdown areas, Heroic World Tier, Troll Lorewalking, Jan'alai Egg Hatching, Darkspear Dash, Zul'jan story content, and the return of Turbulent Timeways.

This is a separate topic from a full patch notes overview because the update gives players several different priorities. Omnium Folio affects character power through a rune system. Sporefall adds a single-boss raid against Rotmire. Val and Naigtal create rotating outdoor objectives through the Voidstorm portal. Heroic World Tier adds a harder version of outdoor content. Turbulent Timeways adds a six-week event schedule with Dragonflight dungeons, weekly cache rewards, and a new mount.

For players, the main point is not only what Blizzard is adding, but what should be done first. Patch 12.0.7 has weekly progression, rotating areas, raid rewards, story content, outdoor difficulty unlocks, and limited event rewards. Missing the wrong part early can delay rune progress, mount progress, or weekly outdoor objectives.

WoW 12.0.7 Release Date and New Content

WoW 12.0.7 launches on June 16 in North America and June 17 in Europe as the Midnight: Revelations content update. The patch continues the Void storyline after Void Assaults and Ritual Sites. Players are sent through an unstable portal in Voidstorm to two new areas, Val and Naigtal, where the leaders behind the attacks on Azeroth are located.

Naigtal is a fungal, arcane-rich world occupied by the Hal'hadar, an ethereal faction. Val is an icy world once inhabited by the Legion, where Domanaar Imperator Pertinax has built a bastion of power. The Voidstorm portal switches between these two destinations on a rotation, changing the available outdoor objectives, enemies, events, and world boss targets.

The update also adds Omnium Folio, a rune-based power system connected to the Sunstrider Omnium. Players work with Magister Umbric and Grand Magister Rommath to restore the ancient elven relic, then use the Folio to select combat runes. These rune powers are planned to remain available through the rest of the Midnight expansion.

Omnium Folio Brings a New Rune System to Midnight

Omnium Folio is the main player power feature in patch 12.0.7. The system begins with Magister Umbric and Grand Magister Rommath, who need help restoring the reawakened Sunstrider Omnium. The relic was created by Dath'remar Sunstrider to study and preserve the schools of magic, and its return becomes the basis for the new rune system.

After the opening tasks are complete, players unlock the Omnium Folio. The interface is opened through a mini-map icon and lets the player choose one core rune and one rune from each later row. These runes provide mostly passive combat effects and can be changed outside combat, which makes the system flexible for raids, Mythic Plus, world bosses, and solo play.

Progress is tied to the weekly quest Seeking Knowledge. Each completion gives a Mote of Omnial Inquiry, which is used to empower runes inside the Omnium Folio. Since the rune powers continue through Midnight, players who care about performance should unlock the system during the first week instead of treating it as optional side content.

What Players Should Do With Omnium Folio First

The first step is to finish the unlock tasks from Magister Umbric and Grand Magister Rommath. After that, players should open the Folio interface, choose an initial core rune, and complete Seeking Knowledge for the weekly Mote of Omnial Inquiry. This gives early progress toward stronger rune options and avoids losing a week of character power development.

Raiders and Mythic Plus players should prioritize Omnium Folio before spending time on optional activities. Outdoor players and collectors can progress more casually, but the system is still worth unlocking early because it is not limited to one event window. Alts do not need to repeat every part of the weekly progress separately if the system uses account-wide progression, but each character still needs suitable rune choices for its own spec and content type.

Sporefall Adds a Single-Boss Raid Against Rotmire

Sporefall is the new raid feature in patch 12.0.7. It is located in Harandar and centers on one boss, Rotmire. Blizzard describes Rotmire as a fungal giant grown by fungarian sporecallers in the fungal Valleys of Harandar. The raid is available in Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties.

The biggest raid format change is flexible Mythic sizing. Sporefall allows Mythic difficulty groups of 15 to 25 players instead of the fixed 20-player structure used by standard Mythic raiding. This makes the raid an important test for flexible Mythic group sizing. Smaller guilds and rosters with unstable attendance may have more room to enter Mythic without needing exactly 20 players.

Rotmire rewards include the Luminous Rotshroom housing decor item, the Luminous Sporeglider mount, Sporefused gear, and fungal-themed items. The Luminous Sporeglider is earned by collecting four Delicious Sporesnacks. Players can earn one Delicious Sporesnack per week per account by defeating Rotmire on any difficulty.

Val and Naigtal Rotate Through the Voidstorm Portal

Val and Naigtal are the new outdoor locations in Midnight: Revelations. Players reach them through an unstable portal in Voidstorm. The destination changes on a rotation, which means available World Quests, rare enemies, events, and world boss targets depend on the current portal destination.

Naigtal is tied to the Hal'hadar and uses a fungal, arcane-heavy setting. Val is tied to Legion history and Domanaar Imperator Pertinax. Both areas continue the Void conflict by sending players after the leaders behind attacks on Azeroth. This gives patch 12.0.7 a weekly outdoor structure instead of only a static quest hub.

Players who want efficient weekly progress should check the active portal destination before starting outdoor content. If the goal is power progression, Omnium Folio should come first. After that, the active Val or Naigtal objectives are the next practical step because the rotation controls which rares, events, world quests, and world boss objectives are available.

Heroic World Tier Adds Harder Outdoor Content

Heroic World Tier is one of the most important outdoor additions in patch 12.0.7. Players unlock it by defeating powerful leaders in the Showdown areas. After the unlock, Val and Naigtal can be entered at a harder world tier with more dangerous enemies and better outdoor rewards.

The feature is aimed at players who want outdoor content with higher difficulty than normal world quests and rare farming. Heroic World Tier adds elite patrols, rotating creature affixes, and additional elite enemy spawns. It is recommended for characters around item level 274 and higher, so fresh alts should not treat it as the first step of the patch.

The main reward reason to run Heroic World Tier is access to low-stakes Myth-track outdoor gear, including cloaks, belts, and bracers. This makes it useful for world-content players, collectors, and characters that want extra gearing options outside raids and Mythic Plus.

Troll Lorewalking, Jan'alai Egg Hatching, and Zul'jan Continue the Story

Patch 12.0.7 also adds story-focused content for players following troll and loa lore. Troll Lorewalking is handled with Assistant Lorewalker Li Li and focuses on the stories of the Zandalari, Drakkari, Gurubashi, and Darkspear trolls. This gives players a clearer way to revisit older lore connected to the troll tribes without replaying scattered quest chains across multiple expansions.

Jan'alai Egg Hatching is connected to Jan'alai, Loa of Fire. Loa Speaker Brek needs help with the ceremony and with safely releasing Jan'alai's offspring from their eggs. This activity is more relevant to story players and collectors than to raid progression, but it adds another piece to the patch's troll and loa theme.

Zul'jan receives a new chapter starting the week of July 7. When the haranir call for a special gathering, Zul'jan attends as an Amani representative and becomes involved in an ancient mystery tied to the legacy of the Amani trolls. Players interested in the larger Midnight story should follow this chapter alongside Troll Lorewalking and Jan'alai Egg Hatching.

Darkspear Dash Adds a New June Micro-Holiday

Darkspear Dash is a new micro-holiday coming in June 2026. The event is inspired by Running of the Trolls, a community fundraising event known for colorful troll characters and Pride Month celebration themes. In the in-game version, players take part in a limited-time Darkspear-themed celebration.

The micro-holiday begins on June 27 and ends on June 29. It is not a character power activity, so raiders and Mythic Plus players do not need to prioritize it over Omnium Folio, Sporefall, or weekly outdoor objectives. For collectors, it is worth checking during the event window because rewards may include a holiday-specific tabard, a title, a toy, and limited celebratory items.

Because Darkspear Dash is available only for a short window, players who care about cosmetics should not leave it for later in the patch. The safest order is to finish weekly power progress first, then complete the micro-holiday before it ends.

Turbulent Timeways Returns With Dragonflight Dungeons

Turbulent Timeways returns the week of June 30 and runs for six weeks. The event begins and ends with Dragonflight Timewalking. The Dragonflight dungeon pool includes Algeth'ar Academy, Halls of Infusion, Neltharus, Ruby Life Pools, The Azure Vault, and Brackenhide Hollow.

The event includes a new mount reward, Spawn of Vyranoth. To earn it, players need progress toward Master of the Turbulent Timeways V by maintaining Mastery of the Timeways for any four weeks during the event. Knowledge of the Timeways is gained through Timewalking dungeons and turns into Mastery of the Timeways after four applications. The buff persists through death, but it does not apply account-wide.

The weekly Timewalking quest gives an increased reward during the event: a Heroic Cache of Quel'Thalas Treasures with item level 259 to 276 rewards. This makes Turbulent Timeways useful for alt gearing and late-season catch-up, not only for mount collectors.

Housing, Ritual Sites, and UI Updates in Patch 12.0.7

Patch 12.0.7 also includes smaller system and quality-of-life updates. Housing receives outdoor lighting support, more common decor items from Neighborhood vendors, and higher exterior decor limits for higher-level houses. These changes matter most for players already working on housing plots.

Ritual Sites also receive reward updates. Tier 6 Ritual Sites can reward item level 270 and higher gear, and they become another repeatable source for players who want progression outside raids and Mythic Plus. This gives solo and small-group players another reason to keep Ritual Sites in their weekly route.

The update also improves parts of the default interface. Patch 12.0.7 adds more options for Personal Resource Display, raid frames, nameplates, boss timeline text placement, Blizzard Damage Meters, and Great Vault raid tooltip readability. These changes are not the main reason to log in, but they improve the baseline UI for players who do not want to rely on as many addons.

What Players Should Do First in WoW 12.0.7

The first priority in WoW 12.0.7 is Omnium Folio. It is tied to weekly Seeking Knowledge progress, uses Mote of Omnial Inquiry to empower runes, and remains relevant through Midnight. Players who care about performance should unlock it before focusing on optional activities.

The second priority is the active Val or Naigtal rotation. The Voidstorm portal changes destination on a rotation, so players should check which area is open and complete the available World Quests, rares, events, and world boss objectives. This is the main outdoor content loop of the patch and also connects to Heroic World Tier progression.

The third priority depends on playstyle. Raiders should prepare for Sporefall and Rotmire, especially if their guild wants to test flexible Mythic groups with 15 to 25 players. World-content players should unlock and test Heroic World Tier when their item level is high enough. Collectors should track Luminous Sporeglider progress from Rotmire, Spawn of Vyranoth progress from Turbulent Timeways, and Darkspear Dash during its June 27 to June 29 window. Story players should follow Troll Lorewalking, Jan'alai Egg Hatching, and Zul'jan's chapter starting the week of July 7.

Final Thoughts

WoW 12.0.7 is not built around one single feature. It combines weekly rune progression, a one-boss raid, rotating outdoor areas, Heroic World Tier, troll story content, housing updates, UI improvements, and a six-week Timewalking event. Omnium Folio is the most important early unlock because it affects character power through Midnight. Sporefall gives raid groups a focused Rotmire encounter and a test for flexible Mythic sizing. Val and Naigtal keep outdoor players on a rotating schedule, while Heroic World Tier gives geared characters a harder version of that outdoor loop.

The best launch order is clear. Unlock Omnium Folio first, complete Seeking Knowledge, check the active Voidstorm destination, then choose between Showdown areas, Heroic World Tier, Sporefall, Turbulent Timeways, Darkspear Dash, and story activities based on your goal. Players who want everything from patch 12.0.7 should track weekly progress carefully because several rewards depend on repeated activity or limited event windows.
