First Aid in World of Warcraft: Forever is a secondary profession that now covers far more than cloth bandages. Every character can learn it without using either primary profession slot, and the current Forever beta expands First Aid with Healing Potions, dedicated treatments for Poison, Disease and Bleed effects, profession-specific Camping features and Legacy support. The normal profession cap remains 300, with the familiar Linen-to-Runecloth bandage progression still forming the safest backbone for leveling.
What is the maximum First Aid skill in WoW Forever?
300 is the normal First Aid cap. Apprentice and Journeyman are trainer-taught, Expert currently uses Expert First Aid - Under Wraps, which requires 125 First Aid to learn, and Artisan progression is tied to the Triage quest line at character level 35 and 225 First Aid.
Does First Aid craft Healing Potions in WoW Forever?
Yes. Current Forever profession data moves the standard Healing Potion progression into First Aid. This includes Minor Healing Potion, Lesser Healing Potion, Healing Potion, Greater Healing Potion, Superior Healing Potion and Major Healing Potion.
What new curatives does First Aid get?
Forever adds Poultices for Disease effects and Tourniquets for Bleed effects, while the existing Anti-Venom line continues to handle Poison effects.
Does First Aid use a primary profession slot?
No. First Aid remains a secondary profession, so it can be leveled alongside Cooking and Fishing regardless of your two primary profession choices.
What does First Aid add to Camping?
Current beta data lists First Aid Kit at 20 First Aid, Toxin Study at 140 and Plague Doctor's Laboratory at 300.
Should healers level First Aid?
Yes. Healing classes still benefit from emergency Healing Potions, bandages, curatives and Camping utility. First Aid no longer exists only as a substitute for classes without healing spells.
As of September 22, 2026, WoW Forever is still in beta and the current test is capped at level 20. The beta runs through October 21, 2026, and the full game launches on November 4, 2026. Low-level recipes can therefore be checked directly in the live beta, while high-level material efficiency, manual availability and the level-60 economy still require verification as later testing opens and after launch.
WoW Forever First Aid at a Glance
First Aid has become a general medical profession rather than a profession built almost entirely around bandages. Cloth remains the simplest leveling material, but current Forever profession data adds potion crafting, multiple curative families and Camping utility on top of the original bandage ladder.
| First Aid Skill | Main Crafts | Important Unlocks | Main Goal |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1-75 | Linen Bandage, Heavy Linen Bandage, Minor Healing Potion | First Aid Kit at 20 | Use cheap Linen while opening the first Healing Potion and Camping options |
| 75-150 | Wool Bandage, Heavy Wool Bandage, Anti-Venom, Healing Potions and early Poultices/Tourniquets | Toxin Study at 140 if its Blueprint is learned | Add Poison, Disease and Bleed treatment while moving from Linen into Wool |
| 150-225 | Silk Bandage, Heavy Silk Bandage, Mageweave Bandage, stronger potions and curatives | Expert First Aid - Under Wraps | Enter Expert First Aid and build a broader medical toolkit |
| 225-300 | Heavy Mageweave Bandage, Runecloth Bandage, Heavy Runecloth Bandage, high-level Healing Potions and curatives | Triage, Plague Doctor's Laboratory at 300 | Complete Artisan First Aid and prepare endgame medical consumables |
What Changed for First Aid in WoW Forever?
The biggest change is that First Aid now covers several kinds of consumable medicine. Wowhead's current Forever profession overview lists Healing Potions, anti-Disease Poultices, anti-Bleed Tourniquets, upgraded Anti-Venom and three Camping crafts as part of First Aid.
| System | Classic Foundation | WoW Forever |
|---|---|---|
| Bandages | Main First Aid progression | Still retained from Linen Bandage through Heavy Runecloth Bandage |
| Healing Potions | Normal potion line associated with Alchemy | Standard Healing Potion progression is assigned to First Aid in current Forever data |
| Poison removal | Anti-Venom and Strong Anti-Venom | Retained and extended with Potent Anti-Venom |
| Disease removal | No comparable full First Aid progression | New Simple, Clever, Superior and Powerful Poultice recipes |
| Bleed removal | No comparable First Aid progression | New Woolen, Leather and Surgical Tourniquets |
| Camping | No equivalent system | First Aid Kit, Toxin Study and Plague Doctor's Laboratory |
The Healing Potion change is especially important because it separates basic health-potion production from the choice of a primary crafting profession. A Warrior, Rogue, Hunter or any other character can keep two completely different primary professions while still progressing First Aid and making standard Healing Potions.
How First Aid Works in WoW Forever
First Aid follows normal profession recipe difficulty. Orange recipes provide the most reliable skill progression, yellow recipes can still be efficient, green recipes become increasingly unreliable and grey recipes no longer grant profession skill.
- Save cloth while questing: Linen Cloth, Wool Cloth, Silk Cloth, Mageweave Cloth and Runecloth remain the core bandage ladder.
- Do not treat First Aid as cloth-only: Healing Potions and new curatives create alternative skill-up options.
- Keep venom sacs: the Anti-Venom progression turns otherwise easy-to-vendor creature materials into useful consumables.
- Prepare recipe books before caps: Expert progression and several stronger recipes require manuals rather than an ordinary trainer.
- Separate skill cost from item value: a useful potion may be worth keeping or selling instead of consuming its materials solely for profession points.
- Verify Beta-only values: recipe availability and advanced Blueprint sources can still change before launch.
Players who want First Aid progressed without manually collecting every cloth tier and recipe can compare the self-play route with the verified WoW Forever First Aid leveling service. The route below remains designed for self-play.

View All Professions ServicesWoW Forever First Aid Trainers and Rank Progression
Current Forever profession documentation retains the original four-rank structure. Apprentice and Journeyman come from normal trainers, Expert is learned from a profession book once you have 125 First Aid, and Artisan requires character level 35, 225 First Aid and the Triage quest.
| Rank | Skill Cap | How to Unlock | Important Detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apprentice | 75 | First Aid trainer | Start with Linen Bandage |
| Journeyman | 150 | First Aid trainer | Progress through Wool recipes |
| Expert | 225 | Expert First Aid - Under Wraps | The book requires 125 First Aid; learn it before reaching the 150 cap |
| Artisan | 300 | Triage | Requires character level 35 and 225 First Aid |
Alliance players can currently purchase Expert First Aid - Under Wraps from Deneb Walker in Stromgarde Keep, Arathi Highlands. Horde players use Balai Lok'Wein in Brackenwall Village, Dustwallow Marsh. The same vendors are also associated with Manual: Heavy Silk Bandage and Manual: Mageweave Bandage.
At character level 35 and 225 First Aid, Triage asks you to save 15 patients before six die. Prioritize Critically Injured patients first, then Badly Injured and finally normal Injured patients. Current Forever data retains Doctor Gustaf VanHowzen in Theramore for Alliance and Doctor Gregory Victor in Hammerfall for Horde; the city quests that send you to these doctors are optional breadcrumbs.
WoW Forever First Aid Leveling 1-300

The safest route keeps bandages as the main progression path because cloth is predictable and does not depend on rare manuals or Beta-only reagent markets. Healing Potions and curatives should be treated as useful alternatives when their materials are cheap, already in your bags or valuable enough that you actually want the finished consumable.
First Aid 1-75: Linen and Early Healing
Begin with Linen Bandage. Humanoid enemies throughout starter and early leveling zones provide Linen Cloth, so First Aid can advance without a dedicated farming route.
- 1-40: craft Linen Bandage while it remains efficient.
- At 20: current Forever data unlocks First Aid Kit as the profession's first Camping feature.
- 40-75: move into Heavy Linen Bandage, which consumes two Linen Cloth per craft.
- Healing Potion alternative: current Forever profession data introduces Minor Healing Potion as part of the First Aid recipe line, giving you another route when potion materials are readily available.
Do not buy expensive Linen simply to follow an exact numerical shopping list. If you are still questing through humanoid-heavy zones, naturally looted cloth can be more efficient than paying launch-week Auction House prices.
First Aid 75-150: Wool, Anti-Venom and New Curatives
The Wool bracket introduces much more of Forever's new First Aid identity. Standard bandages remain available, but Healing Potions, Poison removal and the first Disease and Bleed treatments create several possible skill paths.
- Around 80: move into Wool Bandage when Linen recipes stop being efficient.
- Poison treatment: Anti-Venom remains part of the profession and cures lower-level Poison effects.
- Healing Potion progression: the current Forever profession overview lists Lesser Healing Potion at 55 First Aid and Healing Potion at 110, so the Lesser version is already available before this bracket while Healing Potion becomes available during it.
- At 115: Heavy Wool Bandage becomes the main cloth-based route.
- At 120: current Forever profession documentation lists Woolen Tourniquet as the first dedicated Bleed curative.
- At 130: Strong Anti-Venom extends Poison treatment and is learned through Manual: Strong Anti-Venom.
- At 140: Toxin Study becomes the second First Aid Camping tier once its Blueprint has been learned.
Wool can become expensive on fresh servers because several professions compete for it. Do not assume Heavy Wool Bandage is automatically cheaper than every potion or curative alternative.
First Aid 150-225: Silk, Mageweave and Expert First Aid
Once you reach 125 First Aid, obtain and learn Expert First Aid - Under Wraps. The book raises your maximum skill to 225, so learning it before you hit the 150 cap prevents you from wasting possible profession points.
- 150-180: use Silk Bandage with Silk Cloth.
- At 180: switch to Heavy Silk Bandage after learning Manual: Heavy Silk Bandage.
- Healing Potion option: current Forever profession documentation lists Greater Healing Potion in the Expert range through its separate manual.
- At 200: Leather Tourniquet becomes the next Bleed-curative tier according to the current Forever profession table.
- At 210: Mageweave Bandage becomes the main cloth progression after learning Manual: Mageweave Bandage.
- High Expert range: current data adds Superior Poultice and Potent Anti-Venom as stronger Disease and Poison options.
The most useful finished item is not automatically the cheapest skill-up. If Greater Healing Potion has strong market or personal value, it can be better to preserve those crafts while using ordinary cloth for profession points.
First Aid 225-300: Artisan, Runecloth and Endgame Medicine
At character level 35 and 225 First Aid, complete Triage to open Artisan progression. This is also where First Aid begins consuming materials that can have significant endgame value, so cost comparisons matter more than in the Linen and Wool brackets.
- 225-240: continue Mageweave Bandage or another useful yellow recipe.
- At 240: move to Heavy Mageweave Bandage.
- At 260: Runecloth Bandage becomes the main high-level cloth option.
- High Artisan range: Surgical Tourniquet extends Bleed treatment while stronger Poultices cover Disease effects.
- Healing Potion progression: the current profession overview lists Superior Healing Potion at 215 First Aid and Major Healing Potion at 275, so Superior is already available before the Artisan bracket while Major belongs to this range.
- At 290: Heavy Runecloth Bandage provides the natural final standard bandage route.
- At 300: First Aid reaches its normal cap. Powerful Anti-Venom remains a maximum-skill Poison cure, while Plague Doctor's Laboratory is the maximum-skill Camping feature in current Forever data. Current client data also contains level-300 manual recipes such as Dense Runecloth Bandage and Crystal Infused Bandage; they are additional endgame crafts, not part of the basic route to 300.
Do not automatically consume every stack of Runecloth at launch. Tailoring, reputation turn-ins, other crafts and First Aid can all create competing demand. Compare the market value of the raw cloth against the value of finishing First Aid immediately.
Bandage Progression from 1 to 300
Bandages remain the most predictable leveling backbone because every major cloth tier corresponds to a familiar First Aid recipe.
| Bandage | Craft Skill | Main Material | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Linen Bandage | 1 | Linen Cloth | Starting recipe |
| Heavy Linen Bandage | 40 | 2 × Linen Cloth | Finishes the Linen bracket |
| Wool Bandage | 80 | Wool Cloth | Starts the Wool bracket |
| Heavy Wool Bandage | 115 | 2 × Wool Cloth | Main route toward 150 |
| Silk Bandage | 150 | Silk Cloth | Starts Expert First Aid |
| Heavy Silk Bandage | 180 | 2 × Silk Cloth | Requires its manual |
| Mageweave Bandage | 210 | Mageweave Cloth | Bridges Expert into Artisan |
| Heavy Mageweave Bandage | 240 | 2 × Mageweave Cloth | Main early Artisan route |
| Runecloth Bandage | 260 | Runecloth | Main high-level bandage |
| Heavy Runecloth Bandage | 290 | 2 × Runecloth | Final standard route to 300 |
Healing Potions Crafted by First Aid
Current WoW Forever profession documentation moves the standard Healing Potion ladder into First Aid. This makes the secondary profession relevant even to players who never use bandages frequently.
| Potion | Current Forever Source | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Minor Healing Potion | First Aid trainer in current Forever profession data | Early emergency healing |
| Lesser Healing Potion | First Aid trainer | Low-level healing progression |
| Healing Potion | First Aid trainer | Mid-level emergency healing |
| Greater Healing Potion | Manual | Expert-range healing |
| Superior Healing Potion | Manual | High-level healing |
| Major Healing Potion | Manual | Endgame health recovery |
The current Forever profession overview lists the minimum First Aid skill for the Healing Potion ladder as 1 for Minor, 55 for Lesser, 110 for Healing, 155 for Greater, 215 for Superior and 275 for Major. Some raw spell-data tables also expose the later orange, yellow, green and grey difficulty breakpoints, which should not be confused with the minimum skill required to learn a recipe. Beta tuning can still change, so the current live tooltip, manual and trainer remain the final authority.
Poison, Disease and Bleed Curatives
Forever splits harmful-effect treatment into distinct medical families. Carry the cure for the content you are actually doing instead of assuming one First Aid consumable handles every debuff.
Anti-Venom for Poison
- Anti-Venom: early Poison cure and trainer recipe.
- Strong Anti-Venom: stronger Poison cure learned from Manual: Strong Anti-Venom.
- Potent Anti-Venom: new Forever tier listed in current First Aid profession data.
- Powerful Anti-Venom: maximum-skill Poison cure retained in current Forever data.
Poultices for Disease
Current Forever profession data lists four Disease-oriented Poultices: Simple Poultice, Clever Poultice, Superior Poultice and Powerful Poultice. Their current minimum-skill progression in Wowhead's profession overview is 90, 140, 210 and 280 respectively. Because several of these new Beta item pages are not yet reliably indexed as standalone Wowhead item records, their IDs should not be guessed solely to create a tooltip link.
Tourniquets for Bleed Effects
Current Forever profession documentation lists Woolen Tourniquet, Leather Tourniquet and Surgical Tourniquet as the Bleed-curative line. The current overview places them at 120, 200 and 265 First Aid respectively. These are separate from Poison and Disease cures: a Tourniquet is not a replacement for Anti-Venom.
First Aid Camping: Kit, Toxin Study and Plague Doctor's Laboratory
The verified WoW Forever Camping guide covers general campsite rules, while First Aid currently has three distinct profession contributions.
- First Aid Kit - 20 First Aid: the item requires First Aid 20 and allows nearby seated players to gain a Stamina benefit that is exclusive with Power Word: Fortitude. It requires a Campfire nearby.
- Toxin Study - 140 First Aid: current tooltip data says the station contains Healing Potions and Anti-Venom while also providing all benefits of a First Aid Kit.
- Plague Doctor's Laboratory - 300 First Aid: current tooltip data says it contains Healing Potions and Poultices and retains all First Aid Kit benefits.
All three current First Aid Camping features share a one-hour cooldown. Toxin Study and Plague Doctor's Laboratory require a nearby Campfire and can replace a lower First Aid Kit rather than forcing the group to use multiple First Aid objects.
First Aid and the Legacy System
First Aid also benefits from the wider profession branch of the WoW Forever Legacy System. Working Overtime can increase the chance to gain profession skill, while Field Medicine reduces the duration of Recently Bandaged by 5 seconds per rank, up to 10 seconds, outside dungeons, raids and battlegrounds.
Do not treat current Beta perk values as permanently locked for launch. The useful planning point is that First Aid is connected to long-term account progression instead of remaining an isolated secondary profession.
Best Classes for First Aid
Every class can learn First Aid, and no class needs to sacrifice a primary profession slot to do it.
- Warrior: gains self-healing through bandages and Healing Potions without needing a healing spell.
- Rogue: can create distance before using bandages and benefits from emergency curatives.
- Hunter: gets extra solo sustain while questing and farming.
- Mage: can use control effects to create safe bandage windows.
- Warlock: gains another way to recover health while managing health-based class resources.
- Priest, Paladin, Shaman and Druid: healing spells do not make First Aid obsolete because potions, debuff cures and Camping provide different utility.
How to Make Gold with First Aid
Forever gives First Aid more potential markets than the original bandage-focused profession because many of its useful products are consumables that must be replaced after use.
- Watch Healing Potion demand: the standard health-potion ladder now gives First Aid access to one of the most universally useful consumable categories.
- Price cloth before converting it: Wool Cloth or Mageweave Cloth can sometimes be more valuable raw than as bandages.
- Save venom materials: Anti-Venom and its stronger versions create demand for materials many players would otherwise vendor.
- Watch content-specific curative demand: Poison, Disease or Bleed-heavy encounters can suddenly increase demand for one medical family.
- Sell convenience: players may pay more for a finished medical stack than the raw-material cost because they do not own the required manual.
- Do not assume the highest-level craft is the best market: leveling waves can make lower-tier consumables more profitable.
No reliable gold-per-hour figure exists before the live Forever economy opens. Beta material prices, population and profession demand are not representative of a full launch environment.
First Aid Materials You Should Keep
| Material | Main First Aid Use | Advice |
|---|---|---|
| Linen Cloth | Early bandages and First Aid progression | Save it while leveling through starter humanoids |
| Wool Cloth | Wool bandages and early medical progression | Often a fresh-server bottleneck |
| Silk Cloth | Expert bandages | Keep enough for the 150-210 range |
| Mageweave Cloth | Mid-high bandages | Compare against Tailoring demand |
| Runecloth | High-level bandages | Do not destroy valuable launch stacks without checking prices |
| Thick Leather | Advanced Tourniquet recipes | Competes with Leatherworking |
| Rugged Leather | High-level Tourniquets | Can be expensive during profession rushes |
First Aid Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not treat First Aid as a bandage-only profession: Healing Potions and new curatives are major Forever additions.
- Do not vendor every cloth stack: progressing naturally while leveling is usually easier than returning for low-level materials at 60.
- Do not wait until 150 to learn Expert First Aid - Under Wraps: the book requires only 125 First Aid, and learning it early prevents wasted crafts at the 150 cap.
- Do not reach Artisan progression unprepared: current Forever data retains the Triage requirement at character level 35 and 225 First Aid.
- Do not assume every potion or curative comes from a trainer: several stronger recipes require manuals.
- Do not use the wrong cure: Poison, Disease and Bleed are separate categories.
- Do not guess unverified Wowhead IDs: Beta item records can change, so only confirmed item/spell pages should be linked.
- Do not ignore Camping: First Aid Kit, Toxin Study and Plague Doctor's Laboratory give First Aid permanent group utility.
- Do not treat Beta prices as launch prices: the current testing economy does not represent a full level-60 server.
WoW Forever First Aid FAQ
What is the maximum First Aid skill in WoW Forever?
300 is the normal maximum. Current progression retains Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert and Artisan First Aid.
Does First Aid take a primary profession slot?
No. It is a secondary profession and can be learned alongside Cooking and Fishing.
Does First Aid craft Healing Potions?
Yes. Current Forever profession data assigns the normal Healing Potion ladder from Minor Healing Potion through Major Healing Potion to First Aid.
What cures Poison?
The First Aid Anti-Venom line handles Poison effects, beginning with Anti-Venom and progressing through stronger versions.
What cures Disease?
Forever introduces the Poultice recipe family for Disease effects.
What cures Bleed effects?
Forever introduces Woolen, Leather and Surgical Tourniquets for Bleed effects.
What First Aid skill unlocks the First Aid Kit?
Current data lists First Aid Kit at 20 First Aid.
What First Aid skill unlocks Toxin Study?
Current data lists Toxin Study at 140 First Aid once its Blueprint is learned.
What First Aid skill unlocks Plague Doctor's Laboratory?
Current data lists Plague Doctor's Laboratory at 300 First Aid.
What is the fastest way to level First Aid from 1 to 300?
Use the Linen-to-Runecloth bandage progression as the stable route and substitute Healing Potions or curatives when their materials are cheaper or when you need the finished consumables anyway.
Do healers need First Aid?
They do not strictly need it, but it remains useful because Healing Potions, bandages, curatives and Camping provide utility outside normal class healing spells without costing a primary profession slot.
Is the First Aid 1-300 route final?
No. WoW Forever is still in beta, and the current test is capped at level 20. High-level recipe sources, materials and economy assumptions therefore still need live verification as later testing opens and after the November 4 launch. Recheck current Wowhead Forever tooltips, manuals and live trainers before committing expensive materials.
Conclusion
First Aid has a much clearer purpose in WoW Forever than it did as a simple bandage profession. Leveling it alongside your character gives you a steady source of emergency healing while naturally converting cloth and other materials gathered through normal play into useful consumables.
Its real value comes from the wider medical toolkit. Healing Potions, Poison, Disease and Bleed treatments, plus the Camping progression, make First Aid relevant during leveling and continue giving it practical utility at higher levels. The most efficient approach is to progress it gradually, keep useful materials instead of backtracking later and choose recipes according to actual material cost rather than following one rigid 1-300 route.
