This is a PvE ranking, not a PvP healer tier list. Healing throughput alone cannot explain which healer is best. A specialization might lead raid HPS while offering fewer defensive tools, dispels, or interrupts in five-player content. What Changed After September 17?
The previous healer tier list was written before Blizzard's September 22 tuning pass. Several changes directly affect current dungeon and raid performance.
Atonement healing increased by 40% outside raids and battlegrounds, while Penance costs 20% less mana. The improvement helps dungeon healing but does not automatically make Discipline a top-ranked Mythic+ healer.
All healing increased by 5%; Vivify and Sheilun's Gift healing increased by 15%. Mistweaver now has a stronger argument for A tier in Mythic+.
All healing increased by 4%. Its raid HPS is competitive in recent samples, but proper HoT preparation remains essential.

For Mythic+, we prioritize emergency recovery, tank healing, party-wide damage, dispels, defensive cooldowns, interrupts, healer damage, and consistency in pickup groups. A small DPS advantage does not compensate for a missing answer to lethal mechanics.

Why Each Healer Ranks Here
Beacon-based priority healing, Blessings, Aura Mastery, Divine Shield, and Intercession provide powerful ways to prevent deaths. Poison dispelling is another advantage. Mana management and melee positioning remain important.
Temporal Anomaly, Echo, Dream Breath, and Rewind support exceptional burst healing. Zephyr and Time Dilation offer strong protection. The shorter healing range is a genuine limitation in scattered pickup groups.
Bloodlust, Wind Shear, Purge, Spirit Link Totem, and Poison Cleansing Totem solve common dungeon problems. Healing Rain is more effective when teammates cooperate with positioning.
The September healing increases improved its dungeon viability. Mobility, Leg Sweep, Ring of Peace, Mystic Touch, and damage-to-healing gameplay provide a strong toolkit for active routes.
Proactive HoTs, Ironbark, Rebirth, and mobility reward good planning. The recent buff improves throughput, but reacting late to sudden damage remains a weakness.
Stronger Atonement and cheaper Penance help in dungeons. Discipline performs best when the group plans around its healing windows. Emergency recovery and poison coverage remain concerns.

Raid healing places more emphasis on planned throughput, mitigation, raid-wide cooldowns, movement, and roster coverage. Healers compete for available healing, so raw HPS is influenced by encounter damage, the number of co-healers, and kill time.
Our strongest raid-first choice thanks to Rewind, Zephyr, major burst windows, and reliable progression utility.
Holy Priest and Restoration Druid show strong recent HPS; Shaman and Discipline bring distinctive cooldowns and mitigation.
Both are capable raid healers, with greater dependence on encounter mechanics and roster composition.
October 6 Raid Healing Snapshot
In the selected heroic Venomous Abyss data, Holy Priest recorded approximately 414K average HPS, followed by Restoration Druid at 379K and Preservation Evoker at 377K. These numbers represent sampled performances, not identical assignments. Preservation remains our S-tier choice because of its complete raid toolkit rather than an expectation that it always tops the meter.
The Mythic Ula'tek Race to World First compositions used multiple Preservation Evokers alongside Restoration Shaman. Those rosters demonstrate a successful solution to one specific boss, not a composition every raid should copy.

Patch 12.1.5: What Healers Should Watch
Patch 12.1.5 is scheduled for October 13 in North America and October 14 in Europe. The Unbinding of Kith'ix and the Labyrinth of Kindo'jan introduce new content demands. Announced changes also affect Restoration Druid's Nature's Bounty and Preservation Evoker's Merithra's Blessing. These are not yet verified post-patch rankings.
We will need new live logs and completed runs before deciding whether those changes justify moving specializations between tiers.
