This Midnight Season 2 healer tier list answers three different questions: which healer is the best all-round main, which healer performs best in Mythic+, and which healer brings the most value to The Venomous Abyss raid. The short answer is that Holy Paladin is the safest Mythic+ default, while Preservation Evoker and Discipline Priest lead the raid ranking. Restoration Shaman remains one of the best ways to repair an incomplete dungeon composition.
Healer tiers are more composition-sensitive than DPS tiers. Bloodlust, a combat resurrection, a raid buff, the correct dispel, an interrupt and a cooldown for the next lethal damage event can matter more than a small HPS difference. Use the rankings as a roster tool, not as a reason to reject a skilled player one tier lower.

Mythic+ scoring weights emergency recovery, sustained HPS, tank and priority-target healing, mana, healer damage, dispels, stops, party buffs, durability and PUG reliability. Raid scoring weights planned throughput, damage prevention, spot healing, externals, raid cooldowns, mana, movement, range and roster buffs. Holy Paladin — Best Mythic+ Healer
Holy Paladin can answer both sustained pressure and the one target who is about to die. Devotion Aura, Aura Mastery, Blessing of Sacrifice, Blessing of Protection, Lay on Hands, Divine Shield and Intercession cover situations that raw HPS does not. The main constraints are positioning and mana discipline: the strongest Holy Paladins do not spend expensive casts as though resources are unlimited.
Restoration Shaman — Best Composition Fixer
Restoration Shaman brings Bloodlust, Skyfury, Wind Shear, Purge, Capacitor Totem, Poison Cleansing Totem and Spirit Link Totem. Wind Shear is the only healer interrupt, but its healer-specific cooldown means the group still needs a real kick rotation. The spec is particularly attractive in physical groups and PUGs missing lust or purge. Its lower offensive contribution and reliance on players benefiting from ground healing keep it just below our default S-tier pick.
Preservation Evoker — Highest Conditional Ceiling
Preservation combines strong burst recovery, Rewind, Stasis, Zephyr, Bloodlust and useful displacement control. The latest Verdant Embrace and Living Flame buffs directly strengthen emergency triage. Its limitation is geometry rather than theoretical throughput: a 30-yard healing range and positional spells punish players who spread without a plan. Coordinated and melee-heavy groups get much more value than scattered PUGs.
Mistweaver Monk — Strong Melee-Healing Specialist
Mistweaver offers mobile healing, good offensive contribution, Mystic Touch, Ring of Peace and Leg Sweep. It performs best when the player can maintain safe melee uptime and convert encounter knowledge into efficient healing. Heavy forced downtime or unfamiliar damage spikes lower the floor, which is why a strong personal result does not automatically make it the best blind PUG choice.
Restoration Druid — Biggest Post-Tuning Question
Restoration Druid keeps Mark of the Wild, Rebirth, Ironbark, Soothe, Stampeding Roar and highly mobile HoT coverage. Stronger Rejuvenation, Germination and Wild Growth are exactly the dungeon improvements the spec needed. The remaining question is whether live throughput and GCD pressure support A tier in the highest keys; for now, the buff justifies an A placement without claiming that Druid has already displaced the established leaders.
Discipline and Holy Priest — Viable with Clear Trade-Offs
Discipline rewards proactive Atonement planning and adds Barrier, Pain Suppression, Power Infusion, Fortitude and Mass Dispel. Mistimed ramps and unexpected damage are costly, and the spec lacks Bloodlust, combat resurrection and a healer kick. Holy Priest is easier to read reactively and has strong Holy Word recovery, but it brings fewer answers to dungeon composition and remains vulnerable when personal defensives are tested.

Preservation delivers powerful recovery in frequent windows through Echo, Reversion, Dream Breath and Rewind. Zephyr, Rescue and Time Spiral can solve movement or survival assignments that do not appear on an HPS meter. Shorter range and spread mechanics remain real weaknesses, but The Venomous Abyss currently rewards enough of the spec's profile to make at least one Preservation Evoker a premium choice.
Why Discipline Priest Is S Tier in Raid
Discipline changes the damage timeline before health bars collapse. Evangelism ramps, Power Word: Barrier and Pain Suppression are especially valuable on progression pulls where lethal events are known in advance. Power Infusion, Fortitude and high passive damage strengthen its roster case. Movement, personal durability and difficult spot healing mean the spec still benefits from complementary reactive healers.
Holy Paladin and Restoration Shaman in A Tier
Holy Paladin is often the best healer for priority targets and dangerous physical mechanics. Devotion Aura, Aura Mastery, Blessings and Divine Shield can simplify progression even when another spec parses higher. Restoration Shaman earns its place through Spirit Link Totem, Ancestral Vigor, Skyfury and stacked healing. Both are excellent roster components; neither needs to be S tier to be regularly desirable.
How to Use the B-Tier Raid Healers
Holy Priest supplies direct recovery and Guardian Spirit with a simpler reactive model. Restoration Druid contributes Mark of the Wild, Rebirth, movement support and prepared healing over time; the latest tuning was designed to improve dungeons without raising raid power substantially. Mistweaver brings Mystic Touch, Revival-style recovery, mobility and solid throughput. A missing raid buff or a better player is a stronger reason to bring one than a small theoretical tier gap is to bench them.
A strong progression healing roster combines cooldown types: damage reduction, emergency recovery, priority externals, required raid buffs and movement tools.
