In World of Warcraft: Midnight Season 2, PvP rating unlocks seasonal titles, Elite class set appearances, a weapon illusion, a prestige cloak, a Gladiator tabard and the Venomous Gladiator’s Goredrake. The main rating milestones are 1,000 for Combatant, 1,400 for Challenger, 1,800 for Rival, 2,100 for Duelist and 2,300 for Elite. Gladiator additionally requires 50 wins at or above 2,300 rating in 3v3 Arena.
Midnight Season 2 PvP Rating Rewards at a Glance
| Rank | Rating requirement | Main rewards | Where it counts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Combatant | 1,000 | Seasonal title and first Elite transmog pieces | Rated PvP |
| Challenger | 1,400 | Additional Elite transmog pieces | Rated PvP |
| Rival | 1,800 | Rival title and helm and shoulder appearances | Rated PvP |
| Rival II | 1,950 | Venomcoil weapon illusion | Rated PvP |
| Duelist | 2,100 | Duelist title and Venomous Gladiator’s Prestigious Cloak | Rated PvP |
| Elite | 2,300 | Elite class title, Elite PvP set appearance and seasonal high-rating rewards | Rated PvP |
| Gladiator | 2,300 plus 50 wins | Venomous Gladiator’s Goredrake and Gladiator title | 3v3 Arena only |
The rank thresholds are based on personal rating. Reaching the rating alone is enough for the normal rank-based rewards, but Gladiator is a separate achievement with both a rating and win requirement.
What PvP Brackets Count for Midnight Season 2 Rewards?
Most rating-based rewards can be earned through the rated PvP ladders that award personal rating, including 2v2 Arena, 3v3 Arena, Solo Shuffle and Battleground Blitz. Rated Battlegrounds also contribute where the relevant achievement supports that bracket.
The important exception is Gladiator. The seasonal Gladiator achievement remains tied to Rated 3v3 Arena. You must win 50 games while your personal rating is at least 2,300. Reaching 2,300 in Solo Shuffle, Battleground Blitz or another rated bracket does not by itself award the Gladiator mount.
Rating and MMR are not the same
Your visible personal rating determines rank rewards. Matchmaking rating affects the opponents you face and how much rating you gain or lose, but it is not itself the reward threshold. A character must reach the listed personal rating before the corresponding achievement and appearance unlocks.

Combatant, Challenger and Rival Rewards
Combatant at 1,000 rating
Combatant is the first meaningful seasonal milestone. Reaching 1,000 rating unlocks the Combatant seasonal achievement and title, together with the first pieces of the Midnight Season 2 Elite PvP appearance. The current reward structure assigns the cloak, legs and bracers to the opening Combatant milestone.
Rated wins at this level also allow progress toward the seasonal Vicious mount bar. The Vicious Lightbloom Boar is earned by completing that rated PvP progress bar during Season 2, rather than by reaching a high rating such as Duelist or Elite.
Challenger at 1,400 rating
Challenger expands the Elite set appearance. The current reward breakdown places the gloves and boots at Challenger I and the chest and belt at Challenger II, with the second Challenger milestone requiring 1,600 rating.
Reaching 1,600 rating also contributes to the Midnight Season 2 seasonal progression achievement that awards a Catalyst charge. This is separate from your PvP set unlocks and should not be confused with a rating rank.
Rival at 1,800 rating
Rival is the usual target for players who want the majority of the seasonal Elite PvP appearance without pursuing the highest competitive rewards. At 1,800 rating, you unlock the Rival achievement and title and gain the Elite set’s helm and shoulder appearances.
Rival is available through the rated ladders that award personal rating. You do not need to play 3v3 Arena specifically for the Rival achievement.
Rival II at 1,950 rating
The additional Rival II milestone is set at 1,950 rating. Its main cosmetic reward is the Venomcoil weapon illusion. This is a separate threshold above Rival and below Duelist, so reaching 1,800 does not unlock the illusion automatically.
Duelist Rewards at 2,100 Rating
Duelist begins at 2,100 rating. The achievement awards the Duelist seasonal title and unlocks the Venomous Gladiator’s Prestigious Cloak.
Duelist is also the point at which many players have completed the full Elite set appearance apart from the final Elite reward. The exact appearance unlocks are tied to the seasonal achievement milestones, not to purchasing the normal Conquest set from the PvP vendor.
The Duelist requirement applies to personal rating. There is no separate win count for the Duelist achievement, although you must continue winning matches to raise your rating and avoid dropping below the threshold before the achievement is awarded.
Elite Rewards at 2,300 Rating
Midnight changes the top-end PvP threshold: Elite begins at 2,300 personal rating, rather than the 2,400 threshold used in recent seasons. The Elite rank awards the seasonal Elite title for the class on which you earned it and unlocks the final Elite PvP appearance rewards.
Elite is also one of the qualifying routes for the Season 2 high-end seasonal achievement. Reaching 2,300 PvP rating contributes toward the achievement that awards the Insidious Venomstone tier appearance.
Is the Elite title permanent?
The class-specific Elite title is a seasonal PvP title. It is associated with the season in which you earned it and is not the same as the permanent-looking collection rewards such as a mount, tabard or transmog appearance.
Does Elite unlock every class set?
No. Rating-based class set appearances are earned on the character and class that reaches the required milestone. If you want the Elite appearance for several classes, each class must meet the applicable seasonal requirement.
Gladiator Requirements and Rewards
Gladiator is the highest standard seasonal PvP reward. For Midnight Season 2, the requirement is:
- Win 50 games in Rated 3v3 Arena.
- Have at least 2,300 personal rating when those wins are earned.
- Complete the achievement during Midnight Season 2.
The reward is the Venomous Gladiator’s Goredrake, together with the Gladiator seasonal title. The mount is restricted to the Gladiator achievement; reaching 2,300 in Solo Shuffle or Battleground Blitz does not grant it.
Do wins below 2,300 count toward Gladiator?
No. The Gladiator win requirement uses wins earned at or above the Elite threshold. Wins obtained before reaching 2,300 do not satisfy the 50-win condition.
Can Solo Shuffle award Gladiator?
Solo Shuffle can award its own high-level rating achievements and contributes to other seasonal PvP rewards, but it does not award the 3v3 Gladiator mount. The Gladiator achievement remains tied to Rated 3v3 Arena wins.
Midnight Season 2 Vicious PvP Mount
The seasonal Vicious mount is the Vicious Lightbloom Boar, with faction-specific versions for Alliance and Horde. It is earned by filling the seasonal rated PvP mount progress bar while the season is active.
Progress is based on qualifying rated wins rather than a single rating milestone. The bar is intended to reward continued participation across rated PvP, so players do not need to reach Rival, Duelist or Elite to obtain the mount. The exact amount of progress awarded per win depends on the rated activity and current rating.
After the first seasonal mount is earned, additional completed progress bars normally provide Vicious Saddles for older Vicious mounts. The Lightbloom Boar itself is a Season 2 reward and should be secured before the season ends.
Rated PvP Gear and Rating Rewards
Rating rewards are separate from Conquest gear. You purchase the current Venomous Gladiator PvP set with Conquest, while rating milestones unlock the seasonal appearance layers, titles and prestige cosmetics.
Rated PvP gear starts at the season’s Gladiator PvP item level and can be upgraded through the current PvP upgrade system. PvP gear scales to its designated PvP item level inside PvP combat, so the item level shown outside PvP is not the only value that matters.
How to get Conquest while pursuing rating rewards
- Play rated Arena, Solo Shuffle, Battleground Blitz or other Conquest-awarding PvP activities.
- Use Conquest to purchase the Venomous Gladiator armor, weapons and accessories from the PvP vendor.
- Check the Great Vault after the weekly reset for available PvP rewards.
- Upgrade the gear as your PvP progression and currency allow.
Rating does not directly replace Conquest costs. Reaching Elite unlocks prestige rewards, but you still need Conquest to buy the standard rated PvP equipment.
Account-Wide Behavior of Midnight Season 2 PvP Rewards
The Vicious Lightbloom Boar is an account-wide mount once learned. Seasonal transmog appearances are added to the account-wide collection, but the achievement requirement is completed by an individual character.
Titles remain attached to the character and season in which they were earned. The class-specific Elite appearance is not automatically granted for every class on your account when one character reaches Elite.
The exact account-wide treatment of the new seasonal tier appearance reward should be checked in the live achievement and collection tooltips before publication of a final values update.
Practical PvP Progression Order
- Equip Honor PvP gear and choose a rated bracket that matches your preferred playstyle.
- Reach 1,000 rating to begin the seasonal reward path and Vicious mount progress.
- Push toward 1,600 if you want the additional Challenger appearance and seasonal Catalyst progress.
- Target 1,800 for the Rival title and the helm and shoulder Elite appearances.
- Continue to 1,950 for the Venomcoil weapon illusion.
- Reach 2,100 for Duelist and the prestigious cloak.
- Push to 2,300 for Elite and the final high-rating rewards.
- If you want Gladiator, move into Rated 3v3 Arena and track the 50 qualifying wins separately.
Do not treat 2,300 rating as a permanent safety point. Rating can fall after losses, and the Gladiator win requirement is checked while you are at or above the threshold. Keep a record of your qualifying 3v3 wins in the achievement tracker rather than relying on memory.
Common Mistakes with Midnight Season 2 PvP Rewards
- Assuming 2,400 is still Elite: Midnight Season 2 uses the 2,300 Elite threshold.
- Expecting Gladiator from Solo Shuffle: Gladiator requires 50 qualifying Rated 3v3 Arena wins.
- Confusing Rival with Rival II: The weapon illusion requires 1,950 rating, not merely 1,800.
- Ignoring the seasonal deadline: Gladiator, seasonal titles, the Goredrake and the Lightbloom Boar are tied to Season 2 availability.
- Confusing rating rewards with Conquest gear: Rating unlocks cosmetics and achievements; Conquest purchases the rated PvP equipment.
- Assuming every class receives the Elite set: Class-specific appearances are earned by the class that reaches the milestone.
