World of Warcraft: Midnight Season 2 adds a new group of mounts tied to the Venomous Abyss raid, Mythic+, Delves, Prey, PvP, Coiled Isle activities and reputation vendors. The currently documented Season 2 rewards include the Primeval Skyfriend, Breath of Blight, Breath of Ruin, Apophic Soul Crusher, Crimson Venomfang, Caustic Venomfang, The Writhing Brood, Emerald Skyfang, Vicious Lightbloom Boar and Venomous Gladiator’s Goredrake.
Some additional Patch 12.1 mount appearances have been found in game data, but their final sources are not confirmed. This guide separates obtainable seasonal rewards from mounts whose requirements remain unknown.

Raid Mounts from the Venomous Abyss
Primeval Skyfriend
The Primeval Skyfriend is the Mythic raid mount for Midnight Season 2. To obtain it, defeat Ula’tek, the final boss of the eight-boss Venomous Abyss, on Mythic difficulty.
The mount is tied specifically to the final encounter rather than to a raid-wide achievement. Defeating Ula’tek on lower difficulties does not provide the Mythic reward. The raid contains the following encounters:
- Nek’zali the Soulcoiler
- Entombed Sentinels
- The Lost Explorers
- Vashnik the Malignant
- Sszorak
- The Twin Fangs
- The Coiled Altar
- Ula’tek
As with other raid mounts, the Primeval Skyfriend is not guaranteed. A successful Mythic Ula’tek kill gives an eligible chance at the reward, but players should not treat the mount as a guaranteed first-kill drop.
Crimson Venomfang
Crimson Venomfang is awarded by the Glory of the Venomous Raider achievement. This achievement requires completing the designated raid achievements for the Venomous Abyss.
The exact achievement list should be checked in the in-game achievement panel after the raid launches, because individual encounter requirements can still be adjusted before the live season begins. Unlike Primeval Skyfriend, Crimson Venomfang is an achievement reward rather than a random boss drop.
The Writhing Brood
The Writhing Brood is associated with Zul’jan, the final boss of the Altar of Fangs dungeon. Its final acquisition method should be confirmed after the dungeon becomes available, since the current information identifies the boss as the source without establishing whether the mount is a direct drop, achievement reward or another encounter-related reward.

Mythic+ Mounts for Midnight Season 2
Breath of Blight
Earn 2,000 Mythic+ rating during Midnight Season 2 to complete Midnight Keystone Master: Season 2 and receive Breath of Blight.
A rating around 2,000 generally requires completing a broad selection of the seasonal dungeons within the timer. The precise dungeon-level combination depends on the affixes, your dungeon coverage and the rating awarded by each run. Do not assume that completing only one dungeon repeatedly will be sufficient.
Breath of Ruin
Earn 3,000 Mythic+ rating during Season 2 to complete Midnight Keystone Legend: Season 2 and receive Breath of Ruin.
This is the higher Mythic+ mount and requires substantially stronger seasonal coverage than Keystone Master. A rating around 3,000 is associated with completing many high-level keys, including runs in the +12 and +13 range, although the exact route to the rating depends on dungeon performance and seasonal tuning.
The Season 2 Mythic+ pool contains:

- Den of Nalorakk
- The Blinding Vale
- Voidscar Arena
- King’s Rest
- Ruby Life Pools
- Temple of Sethraliss
Mythic+ Season 2 begins one week after Patch 12.1 launches. The Mythic+ mounts are seasonal achievements, so players should complete the requirements before the season ends.
Delve Mount: Apophic Soul Crusher
Apophic Soul Crusher comes from the achievement Let Me Solo Him: Azta’rec. The achievement requires defeating the Season 2 Nemesis boss Azta’rec in Venomfall Deeps without other players in your party.
Venomfall Deeps is the Season 2 Nemesis Delve on the Coiled Isle. The Ring of Glory and Gnarldor Isle are the other two new Delves introduced with the seasonal content.
The exact tier requirement for Let Me Solo Him: Azta’rec is not yet finalized in the available information. The achievement is designed as a solo challenge, so players should prepare a self-sufficient build with reliable defensive cooldowns, interrupt coverage and enough sustained damage to handle the Nemesis encounter alone.
Apophic Soul Crusher is an achievement reward, not a random drop. Completing the required achievement grants the mount directly.
Coiled Isle Mounts and World Content Rewards
Emerald Skyfang
Emerald Skyfang is linked to the Pro Poison Patroller achievement. The achievement is associated with Season 2 outdoor content on the Coiled Isle and rewards the mount when completed.
The Coiled Isle includes several connected activities:
- Vaults of Atal’Utek
- Public Events
- Curse Surges
- Cursed Fishing
- Rare enemies
- Prey Hunts
- Captain Tokka reputation
- New Delves
- Lairs and world-boss encounters
Because Pro Poison Patroller is an achievement reward, it should be tracked through the in-game achievement interface rather than farmed as a boss drop. The final achievement criteria should be checked after launch if the PTR version does not display the complete requirement.
Caustic Venomfang
Caustic Venomfang is a vendor mount sold by Er’inye for 10,000 Corrosive Coins.
Corrosive Coins are separate from Corrosive Souls. Corrosive Souls are seasonal consumable progression items used for Corrosive effects, while Corrosive Coins function as the purchasing currency for selected Coiled Isle rewards. Do not spend or track them as if they were interchangeable.
A practical starting order is to unlock the Coiled Isle campaign and its central activities first, then complete the content that awards Corrosive Coins. The exact weekly income and most efficient farming route should be confirmed once the live version is available.
Prey Mounts in Season 2
Season 2 adds new Prey targets, affixes and hunts on the Coiled Isle. The current Patch 12.1 mount data also includes Preyhunter’s Fury, associated with Construct E’nui and Remnant of Anguish, and Hexflame Reaver, associated with Ral’kala.
These mounts are not yet sufficiently documented as finalized Season 2 rewards. Their appearances and possible sources are present in current game data, but the exact requirements, availability and acquisition method should be verified from live in-game information before treating them as confirmed rewards.
Successful Prey Hunts also award Corrosive Souls, which are used for outdoor and Delve-related progression. They do not function as a direct replacement for Corrosive Coins and should be kept separate in your planning.
Rated PvP Mounts
Vicious Lightbloom Boar
Vicious Lightbloom Boar is the standard rated PvP seasonal mount for Midnight Season 2. Earn wins in eligible rated PvP activities while progressing the Season Rewards bar in the PvP interface.
The reward is connected to rated Arena and rated Battleground progression. The exact rating threshold and progress requirements should be checked in the live PvP interface because Blizzard can adjust seasonal reward-track values before release.
After earning the mount once, additional completions of the seasonal reward bar generally provide Vicious Saddles rather than additional copies of the same mount.
Venomous Gladiator’s Goredrake
Venomous Gladiator’s Goredrake is the elite Arena mount for Season 2. Earn the Gladiator: Midnight Season 2 achievement by meeting the season’s Gladiator requirements in rated 3v3 Arena.
The current season information associates the achievement with winning 50 rated 3v3 games while at Elite rating. This requirement should be confirmed in the live achievement tooltip before publication because seasonal PvP criteria can change during testing.
The Gladiator mount is distinct from Vicious Lightbloom Boar. The boar is the broad rated-PvP reward, while Venomous Gladiator’s Goredrake is reserved for the much more demanding Gladiator achievement.
Mounts with Unconfirmed Season 2 Sources
Several additional mounts have been identified in Patch 12.1 data, but their final sources are not confirmed. Examples include:
- Sea-Dwelling Isle Serpent
- Venom Serpent
- Auriferous Venomfang
- Wind Serpent recolors
- Venomous Coiler
- Ruby Writhe
- Topaz Skyfang
- Spirit of Tok’jara
- Shadow Spirehawk
Other discovered mounts are associated with the Trading Post, the in-game shop, promotions or future content. They should not be counted as guaranteed Midnight Season 2 gameplay rewards unless Blizzard confirms their source.
Which Season 2 Mount Should You Chase First?
- For raid groups: work toward Glory of the Venomous Raider and pursue the Mythic Ula’tek mount if your team progresses into Mythic raiding.
- For Mythic+ players: target 2,000 rating for Breath of Blight, then continue toward 3,000 rating for Breath of Ruin.
- For solo players: prepare for Let Me Solo Him: Azta’rec and the Apophic Soul Crusher challenge in Venomfall Deeps.
- For outdoor-content players: complete Coiled Isle activities and track Pro Poison Patroller while collecting Corrosive Coins for Caustic Venomfang.
- For PvP players: begin the rated reward track early, then pursue Gladiator’s Goredrake if you are competing at Elite level.
Seasonal mounts should be treated differently from vendor mounts. Achievement and rating rewards can become unavailable when Season 2 ends, while a vendor reward such as Caustic Venomfang is expected to remain obtainable as long as its vendor and currency system remain active. The final availability rules should be checked after the season launches.
