Venomous Abyss Glory Achievements Guide: All 8 Requirements

Venomous Abyss Glory Achievements Guide: All 8 Requirements

Glory of the Venomous Raider is the special raid-achievement meta for The Venomous Abyss in WoW Midnight Season 2. It requires eight boss-specific achievements on Normal difficulty or higher, one for every raid encounter, and rewards the account-wide Crimson Venomfang mount.

The final criterion, No Egg Scramble, also awards the Ula'took companion pet.

This guide separates two things that are often mixed together: the official achievement condition that must be true when the boss dies, and the current live method players use to create that condition. Blizzard's criterion is authoritative. Player-tested techniques are useful for execution but can change if encounter interactions are hotfixed.

If you need the normal boss mechanics before attempting the achievement versions, use our Venomous Abyss Raid Guide. If you only want an organized achievement run rather than coordinating all eight objectives yourself, see the Glory of the Venomous Raider service.

Best Setup for a One-Run Glory Clear

Normal is the best default difficulty. Every required achievement works on Normal, while lower boss damage makes it easier to stop DPS, deliberately extend intermissions and wait for achievement mechanics.

The most important part of the run is not raw item level. It is having one person responsible for achievement calls.

AssignmentResponsibility
Achievement CallerReads the objective before each pull and gives the final permission to kill the boss
Interaction PlayerHandles Kupamanduka, Hoji and other special interactables
Target MarkerMarks Solidified Snake Venom and the active Twin Fangs slime
Tracker CheckerConfirms individual achievement sub-criteria before the boss dies
BackupTakes over special interactions if the assigned player dies

Before every achievement pull, remind the raid that a DPS stop is mandatory when called. Long DoTs, automatic cleave, pets and uncontrollable guardians can ruin otherwise successful attempts.

1. Well, Well, Little Sky — Nek'zali

Official requirement: return Kupamanduka to the Soulcoil Well, then defeat Nek'zali on Normal or higher.

Current Live Method for Kupamanduka

Current player-tested runs use the Balm of Flies sold by the Forgotten Attendant near the raid entrance.

  1. Buy Balm of Flies from the Forgotten Attendant inside the raid.
  2. Find Kupamanduka near the area before Nek'zali.
  3. Use the Balm to activate the frog.
  4. Pick Kupamanduka up and bring him into the encounter area.
  5. After the encounter begins, move or knock Kupamanduka into the Soulcoil Well.
  6. Check that the achievement criterion has registered.
  7. Only then finish Nek'zali.

Failure condition: Nek'zali dies before Kupamanduka is successfully returned.

Use our Nek'zali Boss Guide for the standard Soulcoil Well, Restless Amani and intermission mechanics.

2. Is Venom Stasis A Joke To You? — Entombed Sentinels

Official requirement: both Blood of Ula'tek and Breath of Ula'tek must individually restore more than 50% of their total maximum health through Vitriolic Stasis before the encounter is defeated.

Reliable Live Strategy

The easiest approach is to create one large health difference at a time.

  1. Keep the Sentinels relatively even through the early encounter.
  2. Choose the first Sentinel and push it more than 50 percentage points below the other.
  3. Stop damage before Vitriolic Stasis.
  4. Allow the low-health Sentinel to complete the required recovery.
  5. Confirm its sub-criterion.
  6. Repeat the process with the other Sentinel during a later Stasis cycle.
  7. Finish the encounter only when both separate tracker criteria are complete.

Do not aim for exactly 50%. The achievement requires more than half, so build a safety margin.

Also avoid completing the intermission mechanic so quickly that Vitriolic Stasis does not have enough time to restore the intended health.

See the Entombed Sentinels Boss Guide for the normal encounter cycle.

3. Accidental Inclusion — The Lost Explorers

Official requirement: defeat The Lost Explorers while Hoji is included in the fight.

Current Live Hoji Method

Current player reports describe an interactable object near the encounter area that must be handled before the pull. One assigned player activates the Hoji interaction, after which Hoji appears as an additional protected presence during the encounter.

The practical rule is:

  1. Assign one Hoji player before pulling.
  2. Complete the Hoji interaction before combat starts.
  3. Pull only after the achievement tracker indicates the objective is active or Hoji is visibly included.
  4. Keep Hoji included through the encounter.
  5. Defeat all three Lost Explorers normally.

Do not invent an additional boss-health, fish-order or kill-order requirement. The achievement only requires Hoji to be included.

For Mor'zahi, Disgusting Fish and the standard council strategy, use our The Lost Explorers Boss Guide.

4. Kept You Waiting Huh? — Vashnik

Official requirement: kill Solidified Snake Venom, then defeat Vashnik.

How Solidified Snake Venom Is Created

The current player-tested strategy uses the adds generated by Vashnik's different altar interactions.

The essential concept is to preserve and bring together the required venom adds from the different altar colors. When the correct variants are positioned directly on top of one another, they combine into Solidified Snake Venom.

Grips, knockbacks and long crowd-control effects make the setup considerably easier because one required add often needs to be preserved while the raid waits for the next altar cycle.

  1. Identify which altar adds need to be preserved.
  2. Keep one required venom add alive through crowd control.
  3. Wait for the next required altar/add set.
  4. Stack the necessary venom adds precisely together.
  5. Kill the resulting Solidified Snake Venom.
  6. Confirm the achievement sub-criterion.
  7. Finish Vashnik.

The official achievement does not require a Death Knight or Warlock, although current player strategies often use grips and long-duration control because they make exact add positioning much easier.

See the Vashnik the Malignant Boss Guide for the normal altar mechanics.

5. Jumping Through Hoops — Sszorak

Official requirement: jump through every ring that appears and then defeat Sszorak.

Activate the Achievement Before Pulling

Current live runs activate the ring objective using a small interactable incense near the entrance to Sszorak's arena, on the left before the stairs down to the boss.

After activation, rings appear during the encounter's wind mechanics.

  1. Activate the incense before pulling.
  2. Confirm the tracked achievement becomes active.
  3. When the ring sequence appears, follow the assigned route.
  4. Use Sszorak's knockback/wind mechanics to pass through every ring.
  5. Have one caller track each completed set.
  6. Do not push the boss into a later stage until the required rings are complete.
  7. Check the tracker before the final burn.

Movement abilities are best saved as recovery tools if a player is displaced rather than used only for DPS uptime.

Practice Raging Crosswinds and Howling Maelstrom first with our Sszorak Boss Guide.

6. Taking a Bite out of Slime — The Twin Fangs

Official requirement: feed Ithraz four specific slimes during Ravenous Feast in this exact order:

  1. Crunchy Appetizer
  2. Sumptuous Soup
  3. Tasty Blob
  4. Jiggly Dessert

Where the Four Slimes Are Found

Current live player reports place the four collectible slimes around earlier sections of the raid:

SlimeReported Location
Crunchy AppetizerAfter The Lost Explorers, on a small island in the venom below the trash platform
Sumptuous SoupAfter the opening boss section, in a lower area beside the route
Tasty BlobIn the trash area before Sszorak, around a green fountain
Jiggly DessertInside the Twin Fangs room, on a side ledge

Four players can each interact with one slime and carry its follower buff into The Twin Fangs encounter.

Feed Order During Ravenous Feast

During Ravenous Feast, deliver the slime carriers one at a time in the exact achievement order.

Do not allow the second, third or fourth carrier to accidentally enter the Feast before their turn. Track the individual criteria — completed slime lines update as Ithraz successfully consumes them.

Raid warning: Appetizer → Soup → Blob → Dessert.

Once all four tracker criteria are complete, finish The Twin Fangs normally.

7. Watch Out Behind You — The Coiled Altar

Official requirement: defeat The Coiled Altar while every player is afflicted by Unnerving Fixation.

This is generally the most coordination-sensitive Glory criterion.

Live Ghost Strategy

Manifestations generated through the encounter's Dreadmarch mechanics can apply the required fixation.

The normal strategy usually removes or controls these ghosts. For the achievement, the group instead preserves enough of them to place the required fixation on the full raid.

  1. Stop boss damage well before the encounter can end.
  2. Generate the required Manifestations through Dreadmarch.
  3. Do not destroy the ghosts needed for the achievement.
  4. Use the encounter's gaze/facing behavior to control them safely.
  5. Have a healer or assistant check the complete raid frame.
  6. Wait until every player has Unnerving Fixation.
  7. Once the tracker confirms the criterion, immediately kill the encounter.

Player reports indicate very large raid sizes can make ghost management less reliable. A moderate Normal roster is therefore preferable to filling the raid to 30 players solely for this achievement.

Do not battle-rez a player immediately before the kill without checking whether the returning player also satisfies the fixation condition.

Use our Coiled Altar Boss Guide to learn Dreadmarch and the Manifestations before attempting this version.

8. No Egg Scramble — Ula'tek

Official requirement: defeat Ula'tek while the Greasy Hatchling remains unbroken.

This achievement also awards the Ula'took companion pet.

Current Live Greasy Hatchling Strategy

Current player-tested runs treat the Greasy Hatchling as a relay mechanic.

The egg/hatchling is located off the main platform and is picked up before or as the encounter begins. The current interaction places a short carry timer on the holder. When the timer expires, the Hatchling drops into a small catch/soak area and another assigned player must pick it up.

Players who recently carried it receive a temporary restriction that prevents them from immediately picking it up again, so the group needs a rotation.

A practical setup is:

  • 4 carriers minimum for the basic rotation;
  • 5 carriers for a safer progression attempt;
  • one backup caller tracking the current holder;
  • the carrier group staying close enough for every handoff.

Current live reports also indicate that certain encounter effects can force an early Hatchling drop. Treat any forced drop as an emergency handoff and have the next carrier ready.

Do not allow the Hatchling to be lost into the poison sea.

During sections where the raid splits, plan the Hatchling team separately so it does not become stranded away from the next carrier.

Final rule: preserve the Hatchling first, kill Ula'tek second. The achievement does not care about your parse.

For the standard encounter, use our Ula'tek Boss Guide.

Crimson Venomfang and Ula'took Rewards

RewardSourceRequirement
Crimson VenomfangGlory of the Venomous RaiderComplete all eight Glory achievements
Ula'tookNo Egg ScrambleDefeat Ula'tek while the Greasy Hatchling remains unbroken

Crimson Venomfang is not a random raid drop. Completing Glory awards it deterministically through the achievement.

It should also not be confused with the Primeval Skyfriend. Primeval Skyfriend belongs to the Mythic Ula'tek reward path, while Crimson Venomfang requires the eight Normal+ Glory objectives.

If your target is Heroic Ula'tek rather than Glory, use the Ahead of the Curve: Ula'tek service. For the Mythic seasonal achievement, see the Cutting Edge: Ula'tek service. A standalone final-boss kill is available through the Ula'tek Kill page.

Is Comforting Da Spirits Required for Glory?

No. Comforting Da Spirits is a separate Venomous Abyss raid achievement on Normal difficulty or higher.

It requires players to experience an Ancestral Vision and comfort trapped Amani spirits around the raid. It does not appear among the eight criteria of Glory of the Venomous Raider and does not contribute toward Crimson Venomfang.

This distinction matters because early and pre-release achievement lists were easy to confuse with the final Glory meta.

Best Raid Size for Glory

There is no special fixed raid size required by the achievement meta. Normal uses flexible raid sizing.

For achievement progression, a smaller reliable roster is usually easier than a maximum-size group because:

  • fewer players need Unnerving Fixation;
  • ring movement is easier to coordinate;
  • DPS stops are more reliable;
  • special interactions have fewer accidental participants;
  • slime and Hatchling assignments are easier to track.

At the same time, do not reduce the group so far that one death destroys a required assignment. Bring backups for Kupamanduka, the slimes and the Greasy Hatchling.

One-Run Glory Checklist

  1. Set the raid to Normal unless you specifically need a higher difficulty.
  2. Track Glory of the Venomous Raider before the first pull.
  3. Assign one achievement caller.
  4. Buy Balm of Flies and prepare Kupamanduka before Nek'zali.
  5. Track both Sentinel healing sub-criteria separately.
  6. Activate Hoji before The Lost Explorers.
  7. Create and kill Solidified Snake Venom before Vashnik dies.
  8. Activate the Sszorak ring objective before the pull.
  9. Collect all four Twin Fangs slimes and keep their order visible.
  10. Stop damage on The Coiled Altar until every player has Unnerving Fixation.
  11. Use a dedicated Greasy Hatchling carrier rotation for Ula'tek.
  12. Check each individual achievement immediately after the corresponding boss dies.

Common Glory Run Mistakes

  • Using Raid Finder. The eight criteria require Normal or higher.
  • Using an outdated achievement list. The current meta contains eight boss objectives.
  • Continuing DPS after a stop call. Several achievements require intentionally extending the encounter.
  • Checking only the meta achievement. Individual achievements often provide more useful sub-criteria.
  • Using exactly 50% for Sentinels. The requirement is more than half of total health.
  • Forgetting to activate the Sszorak ring objective.
  • Feeding the correct Twin Fangs slimes in the wrong order.
  • Killing The Coiled Altar with one player missing Unnerving Fixation.
  • Running out of eligible Greasy Hatchling carriers.
  • Confusing Crimson Venomfang with Primeval Skyfriend.
  • Counting Comforting Da Spirits toward Glory.

Sources and Update Policy

The eight required achievements, difficulty requirements and rewards are checked against Blizzard's current Venomous Abyss achievement list and the live achievement records. Practical steps such as Balm of Flies, ring activation, slime collection and Greasy Hatchling rotation are based on current successful player reports and should be treated as live execution methods rather than additional hidden achievement requirements.
