Pre-release note: This guide is based on the current Patch 12.1 PTR and official pre-release information. Requirements, rewards and numerical values may change before launch.
Midnight Season 2 adds a new collection of PvP rewards built around the venomous theme of Curse of Ula'tek. The reward track includes the Vicious Lightbloom Boar, Venomous Gladiator's Goredrake, the Venomcoil weapon illusion, seasonal titles, a prestige cloak, a tabard, activity-specific pennants and two PvP appearances for every class tier set.
The most accessible cosmetic milestone is Rival II at 1,950 rating, which awards Illusion: Venomcoil. The complete Elite PvP set is unlocked progressively from Combatant I through Elite, while the Gladiator mount requires Elite rating and the required number of rated 3v3 victories. The exact Gladiator win requirement should be checked again when Midnight Season 2 becomes live.

How to Earn the Vicious Lightbloom Boar
The Vicious Lightbloom Boar is Midnight Season 2's regular rated PvP mount. It is earned by winning rated PvP matches while progressing through the seasonal mount bar in the Rated section of the PvP interface.
The seasonal mount track begins once the character reaches the required rated PvP threshold. Current Season 2 information places that threshold at Combatant rank, or 1,000 rating. The first completed mount bar awards the season's Vicious mount. Additional completions award Vicious Saddles that can be exchanged for eligible older Vicious mounts.
The mount has faction-specific appearances. The Alliance and Horde versions share the same seasonal progression, but the appearance depends on the character's faction.
A practical way to work toward the boar is to select the rated bracket in which you can maintain consistent wins. Rated Battleground Blitz, Solo Shuffle and rated arena all contribute to the rated PvP progression system, so you do not need to focus on only one mode.

Venomous Gladiator's Goredrake
The Venomous Gladiator's Goredrake is the prestigious PvP mount for Midnight Season 2. It is tied to high-rated 3v3 arena rather than the general rated PvP mount bar.
To qualify, players must:
- Reach the Elite rating threshold during Midnight Season 2.
- Earn the required number of rated 3v3 victories while at Elite rank.
- Finish the Gladiator achievement before the season ends.
Current Season 2 achievement data identifies Elite as 2,300 rating. The required number of victories has not yet been presented consistently across all pre-release data, so the final live achievement text should be treated as authoritative.
The Goredrake is a seasonal reward. It should be treated as unavailable for new Gladiator progress once the next PvP season begins, making it considerably more time-sensitive than the Vicious Lightbloom Boar.
Illusion: Venomcoil
Illusion: Venomcoil is the main rating-based cosmetic reward below Elite. It is awarded for reaching Rival II at 1,950 rating in rated PvP during Midnight Season 2.
The illusion uses the green poison and twisted-root visual theme associated with the Coiled Isle and Ula'tek. It applies a venomous effect to eligible weapon appearances and is collected as a weapon enchant illusion rather than as a physical weapon.
The reward is attached to the Rival II Season 2 achievement. Reaching 1,950 rating is therefore not enough if the seasonal achievement is not completed or if the rating is earned outside the qualifying Midnight Season 2 period.
Midnight Season 2 Elite PvP Set Unlocks
Every class receives two PvP appearances for its Season 2 tier set: a standard Gladiator appearance and a higher-status Elite appearance. The Elite appearance unlocks piece by piece through rating achievements rather than requiring a complete set purchase from the PvP vendor.
| Rating achievement | Rating | Elite appearance pieces |
|---|---|---|
| Combatant I | 1,000 | Cloak |
| Combatant II | 1,200 | Legs and bracers |
| Challenger I | 1,400 | Gloves and boots |
| Challenger II | 1,600 | Chest and belt |
| Rival I | 1,800 | Shoulders and helm |
The full Elite armor appearance is therefore available at Rival I, or 1,800 rating, while Rival II at 1,950 rating adds the weapon illusion. The rating achievements unlock appearances for the character that earns them; the exact account-wide transmog behavior should be confirmed against the live collection system and the character's armor restrictions.
Midnight Season 2 tier armor can also come from rated PvP gear and the wider seasonal tier-set ecosystem. PvP appearances remain separate from raid appearances even when they use the same class-set design. A raid item or Catalyst conversion does not automatically grant the Elite PvP tint.
Prestige Cloak and Elite Tabard
Two additional cosmetic rewards occupy the final rating milestones:
- Duelist, 2,100 rating: Venomous Gladiator's Prestigious Cloak.
- Elite, 2,300 rating: Venomous Gladiator's Tabard.
The cloak is a back appearance associated with the Season 2 Gladiator set. It is separate from the Elite armor cloak piece, which is earned earlier at Combatant I. Reaching Duelist therefore provides a distinct prestige reward rather than another copy of the regular Elite set cloak.
The tabard is tied to the Elite achievement and is separate from the seasonal titles awarded for specific PvP brackets.
Seasonal Titles from Rated PvP
Midnight Season 2 includes rating titles, bracket-specific seasonal titles and permanent end-of-season ladder titles. These rewards should not be confused with one another: some are temporary character titles for the current season, while the top-ladder titles are awarded after the final rankings are calculated.
| PvP activity | Seasonal achievement | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| General rated PvP | Combatant through Elite | Seasonal rank titles, where applicable |
| Rated 3v3 Arena | Gladiator | Gladiator title and Gladiator mount |
| Rated Solo Shuffle | Legend | Legend title and pennant reward |
| Rated Battleground Blitz | Strategist | Strategist title and pennant reward |
| End-of-season 3v3 ladder | Top 0.1% | Venomous Gladiator |
| End-of-season Solo Shuffle ladder | Top 0.1% or qualifying ladder placement | Venomous Legend |
| End-of-season Battleground Blitz ladder | Top 0.1% | Venomous Marshal or Venomous Warlord |
Venomous Gladiator
Venomous Gladiator is the permanent title associated with the Season 2 3v3 Gladiator ladder. Players must finish in the top 0.1% of the rated 3v3 ladder and meet the season's required victory count. The achievement is awarded after the season ends, not immediately when a character reaches the rating threshold.
Venomous Legend
Venomous Legend is the top Solo Shuffle title for Midnight Season 2. It is based on final ladder placement rather than simply reaching the normal Legend rating. Current data references the top 0.1% or a qualifying top-ladder placement, with the final live rules determining the exact cutoff.
The regular Legend achievement is separate. It requires winning the specified number of rated Solo Shuffle rounds while at Elite rank and awards the season's pennant and temporary title.
Venomous Marshal and Venomous Warlord
Rated Battleground Blitz has separate faction titles:
- Venomous Marshal for Alliance characters.
- Venomous Warlord for Horde characters.
These are end-of-season ladder titles for the highest-rated Battleground Blitz players. The regular Strategist achievement is earned by winning the required number of rated Battleground Blitz matches at Elite rank and provides a separate pennant reward.
Bracket-Specific Pennants
Players who prefer rated modes other than 3v3 can pursue cosmetic rewards without earning the Gladiator mount.
- Legend: Win 100 rated Solo Shuffle rounds while at Elite rank to earn the Venomous Legend's Pennant.
- Strategist: Win 25 rated Battleground Blitz matches while at Elite rank to earn the season's Battleground Blitz pennant.
These rewards are linked to the relevant seasonal achievements. A character can work toward them independently of the rating milestones used for the Elite armor set and Venomcoil illusion.
Recommended PvP Reward Route
- Start rated matches early. The Vicious mount progression and rating achievements both depend on seasonal activity, so delaying all PvP progress until late in the season reduces flexibility.
- Reach 1,000 rating. This unlocks the first Combatant milestone and begins the expected Vicious Lightbloom Boar progression.
- Push toward 1,800 rating. Rival I completes the current Elite armor appearance track.
- Continue to 1,950 rating. Rival II awards Illusion: Venomcoil.
- Decide whether to pursue Duelist or Elite. The 2,100 and 2,300 milestones award the prestige cloak and tabard.
- Choose a bracket-specific goal. Solo Shuffle and Battleground Blitz offer their own achievements, pennants and end-of-season titles.
- Track Gladiator progress separately. The Goredrake requires Elite 3v3 performance and the final Gladiator victory requirement, not merely a high rating in another bracket.
Which Midnight Season 2 PvP Rewards Are Time-Sensitive?
The safest assumption is that the following rewards are seasonal and should be earned before Midnight Season 2 ends:
- Venomous Gladiator's Goredrake.
- Venomous Gladiator, Venomous Legend, Venomous Marshal and Venomous Warlord.
- Illusion: Venomcoil.
- Venomous Gladiator's Prestigious Cloak.
- Venomous Gladiator's Tabard.
- Midnight Season 2 Elite and Gladiator appearances.
- Legend and Strategist pennant rewards.
The Vicious Lightbloom Boar follows the standard seasonal mount structure: it is earned directly through the current rated PvP progress bar, while later Vicious Saddles can provide access to eligible older mounts. The exact post-season availability of individual Season 2 appearances and cosmetics should be checked when Blizzard publishes the season-ending rules.
Common Mistakes When Chasing PvP Rewards
- Stopping at 1,800 rating. This completes the main Elite armor appearance track, but it does not award Venomcoil. The illusion requires Rival II.
- Confusing Elite with Gladiator. Elite at 2,300 rating unlocks the tabard and armor milestone, while Gladiator also requires the qualifying 3v3 victories.
- Ignoring the seasonal mount bar. High rating is not required for the Vicious Lightbloom Boar if the character can consistently win rated matches at or above the progression threshold.
- Assuming all brackets share the same titles. 3v3, Solo Shuffle and Battleground Blitz have different achievements and end-of-season titles.
- Waiting for the final week. Ladder placement, win requirements and the seasonal deadline make last-minute progress risky, especially in 3v3 and end-of-season ranking competitions.
- Expecting PvE tier gear to unlock the Elite PvP tint. Raid, Great Vault, Catalyst and PvP appearances are connected through the tier-set design but remain distinct collection rewards.
