WoW Forever Fury Warrior Guide: Builds, Talents, Rotation and Gear

WoW Forever Fury Warrior Guide: Builds, Talents, Rotation and Gear

This WoW Forever Fury Warrior guide covers the level-30 beta following the October 1 talent rework. It explains two practical talent builds, Rage generation, combat priorities, weapon selection and equipment for every slot. Dual wielding receives dedicated off-hand support, while a two-handed setup remains viable when you own one particularly strong weapon. The beta currently stops at level 30; higher-level recommendations are progression plans based on the current talent layout and spell records, not tested endgame builds.

Short answer: At level 30, invest 21 points in Fury to reach Death Wish. For dual wielding, take Furious Precision and Dual Wield Specialization. For a two-handed leveling setup, invest in Lingering Rage and Enrage. Maintain auto-attack uptime, manage Rage carefully and upgrade both weapons when dual wielding. Bloodthirst and Whirlwind are unavailable at the current level cap.

Fury Warrior Level-30 Builds and Talent Ranks

A level-30 Warrior normally has 21 class talent points. The two allocations below spend all 21 points in Fury, producing a 0/21/0 build. They are practical configurations for different weapon setups, not a claim that either build delivers the highest possible damage in every encounter.

Level-30 Fury allocations without additional Legacy talent points
TalentDual-wield rankTwo-handed rankPurpose
Cruelty5/55/5Increases melee critical strike chance.
Unbridled Wrath5/55/5Provides additional Rage through weapon attack procs.
Lingering Rage1/55/5Delays Rage decay after leaving combat.
Furious Precision3/30/3Provides 10% additional off-hand hit chance at maximum rank.
Piercing Howl1/10/1Slows nearby enemies for control and disengagement.
Dual Wield Specialization5/50/5Increases damage dealt by the off-hand weapon.
Enrage0/55/5Can increase Physical damage after taking damage.
Death Wish1/11/1Provides an offensive cooldown with a defensive drawback.
Total points2121All class talent points are invested in Fury.

For dual wielding, invest in Cruelty at levels 10–14 and Unbridled Wrath at levels 15–19. At levels 20–24, take Furious Precision 3/3, Piercing Howl 1/1 and Lingering Rage 1/5. Invest five points in Dual Wield Specialization at levels 25–29 and unlock Death Wish at level 30. This allocation reaches each subsequent talent row with the required number of points.

For a two-handed build, use the same first ten points, then maximize Lingering Rage at levels 20–24 and Enrage at levels 25–29. Unlock Death Wish at level 30. Enrage depends on incoming damage, so it is more consistently useful when solo leveling than when attacking safely behind a dungeon tank. Off-hand talents offer no benefit while using a two-handed weapon.

Level-30 Fury with Talented Legacy Points

At maximum rank, the Talented Legacy perk grants class talent points starting at level 5 rather than level 10. This provides 26 points at level 30 without increasing the eventual 51-point ceiling. These extra points accelerate access to deeper talents; they do not remove talent-row requirements.

One extension of the dual-wield allocation is Enrage 4/5 followed by Flurry 1/5, resulting in 26 Fury points. Death Wish satisfies the current Flurry prerequisite, and the four additional points bring the investment to 25 before entering its row. This is one possible allocation rather than a mandatory choice. The WoW Forever Legacy System guide explains the account-wide progression system.

Fury Warrior Weapons and Level-30 Gear

Choose your Fury build around the weapons you can actually equip. Warriors learn Dual Wield at level 20, but two poor one-handed weapons will not necessarily outperform a strong two-hander. Compare weapon DPS, attack speed, melee bonuses, availability and slot restrictions before changing your setup. At level 30, Warriors can wear mail but cannot yet equip plate armor, which unlocks at level 40.

Furious Precision provides 4/7/10% off-hand hit chance at ranks 1–3. Dual Wield Specialization increases off-hand damage, reaching 25% at 5/5. The earlier off-hand hit and extra Rage bonuses associated with Dual Wield Specialization were removed during the October 1 rework. Do not use outdated talent descriptions to evaluate the current build.

Verified Forever item records and their relevance to Fury
ItemCurrent recordHow to evaluate it
Bloody Brass KnucklesOne-Hand fist weapon; requires level 29; 21.88 weapon DPS; +12 Attack Power and +15 Attack Power against Humanoids.A dual-wield weapon candidate. Listed from Interrogator Vishas in Scarlet Monastery. Its additional Humanoid bonus is conditional.
Whirlwind AxeTwo-Hand axe; 35.56 weapon DPS; +15 Strength and +14 Stamina.A reward from the Warrior Whirlwind Weapon quest chain. Suitable for the two-handed allocation; obtain help for difficult quest objectives.
Swinetusk ShankMain Hand dagger; requires level 30; 15.33 weapon DPS; spell damage and healing bonus. Not a recommended Fury weapon. Its spell bonuses do not provide melee Attack Power, and it cannot be equipped in the off-hand.
Saltscale GirdleMail waist; requires level 26; +9 Strength and +9 Stamina.Useful melee armor from Saltspine in Excavation Site: Wetlands.

These examples demonstrate useful upgrades and one misleading recommendation to avoid. Weapon DPS alone does not account for every statistic, proc or target-dependent bonus. The additional Attack Power against Humanoids on Bloody Brass Knuckles should only be counted against those enemies.

The Whirlwind Weapon quest chain awards a two-handed weapon; it does not unlock the Whirlwind combat ability. Several objectives require considerable effort at level 30, so do not assume that starting the chain guarantees an easy solo upgrade.

Fury Warrior Level-30 Gear for Every Slot

The following equipment list covers every character equipment slot relevant to Fury. It prioritizes useful melee statistics and items with identifiable records in WoW Forever. It is a practical gearing checklist, not a mathematically proven best-in-slot ranking. Some items are rare drops, require PvP reputation or are profession-bound. Their item level and required character level are not the same thing.

RangedDouble-barreled Shotgun+3 Strength, +3 Agility; level 22.Rare bind-on-equip world drop. Useful as a stat item and for pulling from range.

How to use this list: Upgrade weapons first, then replace weak armor pieces with Strength, Agility or useful melee bonuses. Scarlet Monastery Graveyard offers several relevant items but its rare enemies are not guaranteed to appear. Crafted bind-on-pickup equipment requires special attention because another player's profession cannot simply supply a tradeable copy. The Golem War Cloak is tied to an Alliance quest, and PvP trinkets require their respective faction conditions.

Slots should not be left empty just because a preferred item is unavailable. Use appropriate quest rewards, dungeon drops or affordable green equipment while working toward stronger pieces. The two trinket recommendations prioritize survivability because the available level-30 options do not establish a universally superior offensive combination.

Which Stats Matter for Fury?

Weapon DPS, hit chance, Strength, Attack Power and critical strike chance all matter. Strength and Attack Power improve melee damage; Agility contributes critical strike chance; hit reduces missed attacks; Stamina improves survival while leveling. Critical basic attacks also produce additional Rage in the current beta. Because off-hand accuracy, weapon speed and enemy level change the value of individual statistics, there is no verified universal stat-weight formula for every level-30 setup.

Rage Management After the Fury Rework

Blizzard has normalized Rage gained from dealing damage around the speed of the weapon that lands the attack. A harder-hitting weapon still improves damage, but does not automatically generate more normal Rage merely because the damage number is higher. Rage gained from taking damage uses the revised calculation that ignores Armor and absorption effects. This means effects such as Power Word: Shield no longer reduce that source of Rage.

Critical basic attacks generate 100% additional Rage compared with normal basic attacks. Unbridled Wrath provides Rage through a separate proc, and its former double return for two-handed weapons was removed. Blizzard has also acknowledged bugs affecting Rage generation during beta testing, so practical results may change with further fixes.

  • Preserve melee uptime: Remain within melee range and keep automatic attacks running. Unnecessary movement reduces damage and Rage opportunities.
  • Use Bloodrage carefully: It provides additional Rage at a health cost. Do not spend health carelessly immediately before a dangerous pull.
  • Reserve Rage for essential actions: Account for interrupts, defensive utility and important attacks before spending Rage on optional damage.
  • Carry useful Rage into the next pull: Avoid spending on unnecessary attacks against an enemy that will die to the next automatic swing. Lingering Rage helps preserve your resources after combat.

Heroic Strike and Cleave replace an ordinary main-hand swing. Their practical resource cost therefore includes both the displayed Rage cost and the Rage that the replaced swing would otherwise generate. Do not queue these abilities continuously when Rage is limited. The former Heroic Strike queue interaction that improved off-hand accuracy has also been removed.

Fury Warrior Rotation at Level 30

At level 30, Fury operates through a situational priority system rather than the later Bloodthirst and Whirlwind rotation. Enemy health, Rage, stance requirements and the duration of the fight determine which action is most valuable. The priorities below are practical guidelines rather than a universally proven damage sequence.

Single-Target Priorities

Maintain Battle Shout, initiate combat with Charge when possible and continue automatic attacks. Then select your actions according to the encounter:

  1. Use Victory Rush when available: It activates after a qualifying kill and provides an attack that also heals 10% of maximum health. It has a 30-second cooldown and a limited activation window.
  2. Use Overpower after an enemy dodge: This inexpensive attack requires Battle Stance. Consider how much Rage a stance change would waste before switching.
  3. Apply Sunder Armor to durable enemies: Armor reduction is more valuable when several subsequent attacks benefit from it. Avoid wasting Rage on stacks against enemies that will die immediately.
  4. Consider Rend against longer-lived targets: Its improved Attack Power scaling makes it worth evaluating, but most of its damage must have time to occur. Avoid unnecessary late refreshes.
  5. Use Execute when the target is at 20% health or below: It can spend additional Rage to increase damage. Consider whether preserving Rage for the next enemy would be more useful.
  6. Use Heroic Strike with surplus Rage: Queue it when you can afford both its cost and the loss of normal main-hand swing Rage.

Overpower responds to a dodge. Sunder Armor reduces armor but also creates significant threat, while Execute is a finishing attack. Their relative value depends on the target rather than a rigid repeating sequence.

Cleave, Dungeon Pulls and Death Wish

Use Cleave when at least two valid enemies are within its attack conditions and sufficient Rage is available. Allow the tank to establish threat, follow the group's target priority and avoid breaking crowd control. Whirlwind cannot be used at level 30 because it is learned later.

Death Wish costs 10 Rage, lasts 30 seconds and has a three-minute cooldown. It increases Physical damage dealt by 20%, grants immunity to Fear effects and increases all damage taken by 5%. Activate it during a period of sustained melee uptime rather than when an enemy is nearly dead. Its defensive penalty makes timing particularly important during solo combat or dangerous dungeon pulls.

Berserker Stance and Fury Utility

Berserker Stance is unlocked through the level-30 Warrior quest involving Klannoc Macleod on Fray Island near Ratchet. It increases critical strike chance by 3% but also increases damage taken by 10%. It can improve offensive performance while a tank controls enemies, whereas Battle Stance allows immediate use of Overpower after a dodge.

Train Tactical Mastery at level 14. Its baseline version preserves up to 10 Rage when changing stances. The pure-Fury allocations above do not improve this limit, so changing stances while holding more than 10 Rage can waste resources.

Berserker Rage becomes available at level 30 after the rework. Keep a usable shield and a compatible one-handed weapon available for Shield Bash when an interrupt is necessary. Pummel is not available at the current level cap. Piercing Howl provides area control for the dual-wield build, while Death Wish offers additional Fear protection during its active window. None of these tools replaces careful pulling and threat management.

Fury Talent Progression Beyond Level 30

The following milestones extend the dual-wield allocation using the current talent tree and spell records. They are planning references for progression beyond the present beta cap and should be reassessed when those levels become playable.

Progression milestones without early talent points from Talented
LevelMilestonePractical effect
31–34Invest four additional points in earlier Fury talents.Enrage 4/5 is one possible continuation, reaching 25 invested points.
35–39Invest five points in Flurry.Death Wish meets its prerequisite. Critical melee attacks can trigger increased attack speed.
36Train Whirlwind.Unlocks an area attack used in Berserker Stance. Dual wielding automatically allows both weapons to strike.
38Train Pummel.Adds an interrupt in Berserker Stance without requiring a shield.
40Unlock Bloodthirst with 30 points invested in Fury. The October 1 notes increased its Attack Power coefficient to 45%. It no longer heals the Warrior and instead provides a movement-speed bonus.

Following this path produces a 0/31/0 build at level 40 without Talented. Early Legacy talent points change how quickly the tree develops, but they do not lower the level requirement for training Whirlwind or other class abilities. Any subsequent beta balance changes may alter the preferred distribution.

With Bloodthirst and Whirlwind available, plan Rage spending around their useful casts before queuing optional Heroic Strike or Cleave attacks. Their current records show six-second and ten-second cooldowns respectively. These values establish a starting framework, not a tested final rotation for all target counts.

Later talents introduce further choices. Raging Blows reduces the Rage cost of Cleave and Whirlwind by 3, while Gore Drinker adds conditional recovery through specific Fury abilities. The current level-30 beta cannot establish a definitive level-60 rotation, raid ranking or full endgame gear set. See the WoW Forever Warrior guide for broader class information.

Fury Warrior FAQ

These answers clarify the limitations of the current Fury toolkit and common gearing or talent questions.

Is Raging Blows a separate attack?
No. It is a passive Fury talent that reduces the Rage cost of Cleave and Whirlwind by 3. It does not add a new attack button.

Can a Fury Warrior tank a leveling dungeon?
A Fury build does not prevent the use of Defensive Stance and shield abilities. Whether it can tank effectively depends on enemy difficulty, gear, threat management and group support. Carry a shield and establish roles before entering.

Should I deliberately take damage to activate Enrage?
No. Enrage can provide additional damage when you naturally take hits, but deliberately suffering unnecessary damage can outweigh the benefit.

Can I equip plate armor at level 30?
No. Warriors gain plate proficiency at level 40. At level 30, mail and suitable leather items are valid choices.

Do I need every item in the equipment table?
No. The table identifies useful targets, not mandatory best-in-slot equipment. Weapons and accessible melee-stat upgrades usually deserve priority over farming rare drops with small improvements.

Conclusion

At level 30, begin with the Fury talent allocation that matches your weapons and focus on consistent auto-attacks, reliable Rage generation and selective spending. Build your equipment across all slots, but prioritize weapons and realistic upgrades rather than assuming every rare drop or profession-bound item is obtainable. Bloodthirst and Whirlwind remain part of future progression, so the strongest current approach is to master the available toolkit instead of following a rotation designed for higher levels.
