WotLK Cooking 1-450 Guide
Cooking Upgrade in WoW Classic WotLK, ExpCarry Guide
Cooking is one of the secondary professions available to players in WotLK. It allows you to create beverages and food with beneficial properties such as mana regeneration, health points (HP) restoration, temporary attribute boosts, and more. The food prepared by cooks is essential for PvE and PvP content. In this guide, we will discuss how to level up your cooking in the WoW Wrath of the Lich King expansion, provide the locations of profession trainers, list its features, and much more.
General Information about the Profession
As mentioned earlier, cooking is one of the secondary professions that anyone can learn. You can learn to cook dishes and brew beverages without giving up other important professions such as Alchemy, Herbalism, Mining, and so on. Those who learn cooking gain the ability to craft consumable items that restore HP and mana and provide various buffs. This will be especially useful during leveling.
Cooking pairs well with another secondary profession, Fishing, as almost all the fish you catch can be used to prepare food. This way, you can level up two professions simultaneously: cooking and fishing.
Learning Cooking in WoW WotLK - Skill Levels and Trainers
Cooking has several levels of profession progression:
Apprentice and Journeyman: You can learn the basic cooking skills from any profession trainer available in your faction's capital cities. When you reach a major city, speak to a city guard and ask them to show you the location of the desired trainer. For cooking, choose the dialogue options "Profession Trainer" -> "Cooking." After that, a mark will appear on your map indicating the location of the trainer you need.
Expert: To level up your cooking skill beyond 300, you need to visit a cooking trainer in Outland or Northrend.
Artisan: To level up the profession from 375 to 450, head to Northrend and speak with one of the Grand Master cooking trainers. You can find the NPCs' locations listed below.
Grand Master Cooking Trainers in Northrend:
Alliance:
- Rollick MacKreel - Borean Tundra.
- Brom Brewbaster - Howling Fjord.
- Katherine Lee - Dalaran.
Horde:
- Orn Tenderhoof - Borean Tundra.
- Thomas Kolichio - Howling Fjord.
- Awilo Lon'gomba - Dalaran.

The cheapest way to level up your cooking from 350 to 400 is by cooking Kungaloosh. However, you can only obtain the recipe for this beverage after completing a long quest chain in Sholazar Basin. The final quest in the chain is called "The Taste Test." By completing it, you will learn how to cook Kungaloosh. Since both ingredients required for making Kungaloosh can be purchased from NPCs for silver coins, this option is considered the most convenient and won't require you to spend a lot of money on developing your cooking skills.
If you don't want to do the long quest chain or are looking for other ways to level up your cooking skill, you can level the profession to 400 using one of the dishes presented in the table below.
