WotLK Jewelcrafting 1-450 Guide
Jewelcrafting Upgrade in WoW Classic WotLK, ExpCarry Guide
Jewelcrafting - a profession that allows you to craft precious gems that enhance a hero's attributes. These gems come in different types and colors, and are inserted into specific sockets on equipment, somewhat resembling enchantments created through Enchanting. In this guide, we will explain how to level up Jewelcrafting in the WoW Wrath of the Lich King expansion, provide the locations of profession trainers, list its features, and much more.
General information about the profession
Jewelcrafters in WotLK Classic engage in the processing of gemstones, transforming them into precious gems that can strengthen equipment and increase their own attributes. In addition to precious gems, Jewelcrafting allows the creation of unique rings and necklaces.
Jewelcrafters use ores, bars, and gemstones in their crafts. Leveling up this profession can be quite expensive, so we recommend pairing Jewelcrafting with Mining. By gathering the necessary materials yourself instead of buying them from the auction house, you can significantly reduce the costs of leveling Jewelcrafting, especially in the early stages when required resources and supplies are expensive.
Before starting to level up the profession, make sure to acquire a Jeweler's Kit and a Grinding Stone from an NPC vendor who sells tools and items for jewelcrafting or a general goods vendor. These items must be in your inventory as they are necessary for creating jewelry items.
Description of the "Prospecting" skill
Prospecting is an ability introduced in the game alongside Jewelcrafting. It allows you to process 5 units of ore into random materials for jewelcrafting. Most commonly, prospecting ore yields gemstones like Jade, which serve as the base materials for crafting precious gems.
Similar to other professions, jewelcrafters can prospect only the ore that corresponds to their skill level. By reaching the maximum level of Jewelcrafting, you can use Prospecting on Northrend ores, obtain rare gemstones, create high-level precious gems, and earn a decent profit by selling them.
How to learn Jewelcrafting in WoW WotLK - profession levels and trainers
Jewelcrafting has several levels of profession progression:
Apprentice and Journeyman: You can learn the basic jewelcrafting skills from any profession trainers in the capital cities of your faction. When you reach a major city, speak to a city guard and ask them to show you the location of the desired trainer. For jewelcrafting, choose the dialogue options "Profession Trainer" -> "Jewelcrafting." After that, a marker will appear on your map, indicating the location of the trainer you need.
Expert: To level up your crafting skill beyond 300, you need to visit a jewelcrafting trainer in Outland or Northrend. There, you can further develop your expertise up to a skill level of 375.
Artisan: To level the profession from 375 to 450, head to Northrend and speak with one of the Grand Master Jewelcrafting trainers. You can find the locations of these NPCs listed below.
