WoW Forever Merchant’s Favor Guide: Farming, Vendors, Recipes and Rewards

WoW Forever Merchant's Favor is a currency earned by completing supply shipments and spent at the Alliance and Horde trading camps on profession recipes, crafted equipment, mounts, pets and cosmetic rewards. The main loop is to obtain a Waylaid Crate, fill one accepted material bundle, deliver the sealed shipment and spend the currency on a useful reward. This guide covers the Shipping Label introduction, crate payouts, farming efficiency, both trading factions, equipment recipes by slot, profession vendors and reputation requirements. Information is based on the Forever beta as of October 8, 2026. Blizzard raised the beta level cap to 30 on October 1, so level-60 rewards and many high-skill recipes remain future progression targets.

Short answer: Complete Waylaid Crates and deliver them to Marcy Baker at Three Corners for the Alliance or Dokimi near the Crossroads for the Horde. Apprentice shipments pay 5–10 Merchant's Favor, Journeyman shipments pay 10–20, and Expert shipments have reported payouts of 15–30. Buy recipes appropriate for your profession and level, and use Craftsman's Writs for faction reputation.

How to Get Merchant's Favor and Start the Shipping Label Quest

Merchant's Favor is accepted by the Azeroth Commerce Authority and Durotar Supply and Logistics. Completing sealed-crate delivery quests is the main documented repeatable source. Finding an empty crate or collecting its materials does not award currency.

Early Waylaid Crates, including Apprentice Herbs and Apprentice Textiles, require level 10 to use. Obtain an eligible crate, read its material choices, collect the full quantity of one accepted bundle and fill it. Deliver the sealed crate to your faction's trading representative.

The introductory Alliance Shipping Label quest and Horde Shipping Label quest guide players to their trading camps. Beta reports indicate that the Shipping Label appears when the first crate is filled. Check your inventory and mailbox if you cannot locate it.

The quest records award 2,000 reputation with the appropriate trading faction. Players also report a one-time reward of 50 Merchant's Favor. Keep this introductory payment separate from normal crate earnings: it is not repeated with every shipment.

Supply Crates: Payouts, Quality and Filling Requirements

Completed crates have different payouts depending on their tier and quality. White and green shipments of the same tier must be compared separately. Check the actual sealed crate before calculating the return on your materials.

These values exclude the Legacy Performance Bonus. Artisan crates also exist in the beta database, but a reliably verified Favor payout is unavailable. Do not assume their payout follows a fixed numerical progression.

Fill One Accepted Bundle, Not Every Material on the List

Each crate lists alternative completion options. Provide the complete quantity of one option. You do not need every material listed, and partial quantities from several options cannot be combined.

You can purchase the required materials from other players. The profession normally associated with an ingredient is not automatically required to fill its crate. Compare Auction House prices with self-crafted material costs before choosing an option.

Trading Empty Crates and Managing Sealed Shipments

Unfilled Waylaid Crates can be traded, whereas checked sealed Apprentice, Journeyman and Expert crates bind on pickup. Transfer empty crates and materials before filling them if you intend to use another character.

Checked crate records allow stacks of five. Prepare bag space and make several deliveries in one visit when possible. This saves travel time without changing the Favor earned per crate.

Merchant's Favor Farming: Compare Shipment Costs

The most economical shipment depends on crate availability, material prices, travel and completion time. A higher Favor payout does not automatically make a shipment more efficient.

  1. Choose a reward: establish the Favor price, reputation requirement and relevant profession skill.
  2. Collect crates while leveling: retain suitable drops during questing instead of relying on an unverified farming location.
  3. Compare accepted bundles: calculate the full cost of every option, including crafting reagents.
  4. Calculate cost per Favor: include the cost of purchasing an empty crate when applicable.
  5. Deliver in batches: prepare several sealed crates and combine turn-ins with a planned trip to the trading camp.

How to Calculate Gold Cost per Merchant's Favor

Divide the cost of the empty crate plus the chosen material bundle by its base Favor payout. Subtract verified monetary rewards only if you are calculating net gold expenditure. Do not assume that every crate pays the same silver reward.

Illustrative example: a shipment costing 25 silver and paying 5 Favor costs 5 silver per Favor. Another costing 40 silver and paying 10 Favor costs 4 silver per Favor. The second is more economical, despite a higher initial cost. These figures are examples, not live Auction House prices.

Gathered materials have an opportunity cost because you could sell them or use them for crafting. Always compare their market value with the cost of the cheapest accepted alternative.

Choosing a Farming Route Without Invented Drop Rates

Players report Waylaid Crates dropping from outdoor enemies and appearing in world chests. Available beta evidence does not establish a universal best farming spot, a reliable drop probability or a fixed Favor-per-hour rate. Season of Discovery drop-rate estimates should not be applied automatically to Forever.

Prioritize enemies that also provide experience, quest progress or profitable materials. Test a location before dedicating an extended farming session to it. Buying an eligible empty crate may be faster than farming for the drop, but introduces an additional gold cost.

Performance Bonus and Additional Favor

The Legacy perk Performance Bonus provides a chance to receive 100% additional Merchant's Favor when delivering a crate. Beta data describes increasing proc chances across perk ranks, but rank displays and published calculators have not always agreed.

Use the exact percentage displayed by your current Legacy tree. A bonus is chance-based, so plan purchases using normal payouts rather than treating doubled Favor as guaranteed income.

Alliance and Horde Trading Factions and Vendors

Both trading factions use Merchant's Favor. Each camp has a shipment recipient, profession specialists and collection vendors. Deliveries and purchases are handled by different NPCs.

Azeroth Commerce Authority at Three Corners

The Alliance camp is at Three Corners in Redridge Mountains, between Elwynn Forest and Lakeshire. Marcy Baker receives sealed crates at approximately 9.6, 70.9. The main trading area is around 10.5, 72.7.

Tamelyn Aldridge sells collection rewards near 10.6, 71.3. Huey Sunnydale sells Reins of the Pack Kodo near 8.5, 72.1. Profession vendors occupy the same general camp and maintain separate inventories.

Durotar Supply and Logistics Near the Crossroads

The Horde camp is outside the Crossroads in the Barrens. Individual NPC records place Dokimi, the crate recipient, around 50.0, 29.2, while a published general camp waypoint is 42, 34. These references differ, so follow the Shipping Label quest marker or locate the actual camp NPCs rather than treating either waypoint as definitive.

Gishah handles collection rewards, while the Pack Kodo vendor is listed as Okamache. Use Forever NPC records rather than old Season of Discovery city vendor locations.

Merchant's Favor Recipes and Useful First Purchases

Favor vendors sell consumables, equipment recipes, enchantments and engineering designs. Check the skill required to learn a recipe separately from the character level required to equip or use the completed item.

Several recipes bind on pickup. Buying one on another character does not necessarily allow you to mail it to the intended crafter. Check the finished item's binding independently; some crafted equipment also binds on pickup.

Higher-tier recipes may have reputation restrictions in addition to profession skill requirements. For example, beta records for Plans: Enriched Thorium Breastplate show Blacksmithing 300, a 120-Favor price and an Honored requirement in some database views. Confirm the current vendor tooltip before purchasing.

These examples are starting points, not a complete list of Forever recipes. The WoW Forever professions guide covers the wider profession system.

Merchant's Favor Gear: Equipment for Every Slot

Merchant's Favor buys equipment patterns rather than automatically providing the completed gear. The main armor families cover cloth through Tailoring, leather and selected mail through Leatherworking, and chain or heavier armor through Blacksmithing. Enchanting and Engineering provide additional weapons, off-hand items, cloaks, belts, goggles and relics.

The table below covers every relevant equipment slot and provides multiple concrete patterns wherever the verified vendor lists support them. Prices are for individual recipes, not complete sets. Profession skill is the requirement to learn the recipe; equipping the result may require a separate character level. Recipes requiring skills above current beta progression are included for planning, not as guaranteed level-30 acquisitions.

Shirt / TabardNo specific Merchant's Favor shirt recipe is established. Azeroth Commerce Authority Tabard or Durotar Supply and Logistics Tabard is available as a faction cosmetic reward. No profession skill for tabard200 for tabard, Exalted required

How to choose equipment: start with an armor type your character can equip, then compare primary attributes, armor, weapon damage and special effects with your current gear. Similar item names can represent different stat distributions. A recipe's displayed profession requirement does not establish that its output is automatically your best-in-slot item.

Full-set planning: early cloth, leather and chain families supply many primary armor slots, but shoulders and wrists often belong to later recipe groups. Jewelry, trinkets and some weapon categories are not covered by a complete Merchant's Favor set. Complete those slots through quests, dungeons, drops or other crafting sources rather than assuming the faction sells an entire best-in-slot loadout.

Binding and materials: check whether both the recipe and finished item bind on pickup. Calculate the crafting cost after buying the pattern, including uncommon ingredients and profession reagents. Currency pays for the recipe, not the materials or crafting service.

Merchant's Favor, Reputation and Craftsman's Writs

Merchant's Favor and faction reputation serve separate purposes. Favor pays for recipes and rewards, while reputation determines whether certain purchases become available. Enough currency does not override Friendly, Honored, Revered or Exalted requirements.

Do not calculate reputation by multiplying ordinary crate payouts. Beta reports for Apprentice Textiles and Fabrics describe currency and silver rewards without regular reputation, whereas Shipping Label explicitly awards 2,000 faction reputation. Season of Discovery reputation values are not reliable substitutes.

A Sealed Journeyman's Writ opens into a Craftsman's Writ requesting a specific crafted item for a named customer. Deliveries may take place outside the trade camp and are distinct from supply-crate turn-ins.

Current beta listings indicate 75 reputation for Journeyman writs, 125 for Expert writs and 200 for Artisan writs, usually alongside a Coin Pouch. These values are not guaranteed Merchant's Favor payments. Requirements and higher-tier availability should be verified for each assignment.

Some beta testers report timed writ quests. Read the destination, requested item and any expiration timer before committing. Prepare the delivery route in advance, especially if the customer is in a distant zone.

Merchant's Favor Rewards: Prices and Requirements

Collection rewards have separate currency, reputation and level restrictions. The following costs reflect beta vendor lists, and their use conditions come from individual item records.

Major Merchant's Favor purchases and their restrictions

Reins of the Pack Kodo6,000Level 60, Journeyman Riding and Exalted faction reputation shown in item records.Unlocks the account-wide Pack Kodo mount.

Profession Certifications and Account-Wide Titles

Certifications are listed for Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Leatherworking and Tailoring. Their corresponding titles are the Alchemist, the Blacksmith, the Enchanter, the Engineer, the Leatherworker and the Tailor.

For example, Alchemy Certification unlocks a title account-wide, but characters still need Alchemy 300 to display it. The certification does not award skill points. Current level-30 beta progression should not be treated as proof that 300-skill certifications can already be obtained through normal play.

Advertising Licenses Start a Toy Quest

The Alliance Advertising License Application and Horde application start quests associated with the Dwarven and Orcish Tradeskill Sign toys. Purchasing an application does not immediately grant the toy.

Complete the Sign Me Up! quest requirements after purchasing the application. The 1,200-Favor cost is only one part of the acquisition process.

Pack Kodo Progression at the Level-30 Beta Cap

The Pack Kodo requires level 60 and Journeyman Riding, so a level-30 beta character cannot use it. The 6,000-Favor price is suitable for long-term planning, not an immediately usable leveling reward.

Its item tooltip contains Exalted reputation lines for both trading factions. This does not independently prove that a single character must reach Exalted with both organizations. Verify the actual purchase restriction at your faction's vendor. The WoW Forever mounts guide covers additional mount sources and riding progression.

An account-wide mount or title unlock does not establish that Merchant's Favor itself is account-wide. Confirm currency behavior in the current game client before budgeting purchases across multiple characters.

How Much Favor to Save and What to Buy First

Choose a recipe or reward that you can actually learn, equip or use. Early equipment patterns can provide immediate value, while high-skill patterns and collectible rewards often require significantly more progression.

Before the introductory payment or random bonuses, a 30-Favor recipe takes six 5-Favor shipments, three 10-Favor shipments or two 20-Favor shipments. A 45-Favor recipe takes nine, five or three respectively. Overshooting the price is normal because shipment rewards cannot be divided.

With a base payout of 20 Favor, a 200-Favor tabard costs ten shipments, a 1,000-Favor certification costs 50, an Advertising License Application costs 60, Packmule Treat costs 75 and the Pack Kodo costs 300. These are arithmetic comparisons, not estimated farming times or guaranteed crate drop counts.

  • First: purchase a usable profession recipe or equipment upgrade.
  • Next: target another concrete recipe instead of buying every available design.
  • For profession titles: plan 300 skill and 1,000 Favor together.
  • For collections: calculate currency while progressing the appropriate reputation and level requirements.

Subtract your current balance before calculating future shipments. If you receive the reported 50-Favor introductory reward, one 45-Favor recipe leaves five Favor, or a 30-Favor recipe leaves 20. Include this initial reward only once.

When a Supply Crate Will Not Fill or a Purchase Is Locked

Verify the crate's exact name, one accepted material choice and the full quantity required. Linen Cloth is not Bolt of Linen Cloth, and Light Leather is not Cured Light Hide. Materials intended for a different crate do not complete the current shipment.

Blizzard's beta known-issues list documented crates failing when a required material quantity exceeded its maximum stack size. It also listed incorrect material handling for Apprentice Curiosities. Both issues were marked for fixes in a subsequent beta build. If either occurs again, consult the official beta known-issues thread.

For locked purchases, check currency, reputation, profession skill and character level separately. For unusable crafted equipment, inspect the finished item's equip conditions, not only the purchased recipe.

Conclusion

Start with a specific reward, compare the cheapest accepted materials for each crate and deliver shipments efficiently. Merchant's Favor unlocks extensive profession recipes, including armor and weapons across many equipment slots, but reputation, profession skill, character level and crafting materials remain separate requirements. Use Craftsman's Writs for reputation progression and avoid spending currency on rewards you cannot yet access.
