WoW Forever Talents: Calculator & All 9 Classes

WoW Forever Talents: Calculator & All 9 Classes

WoW Forever talents retain the familiar three-tree Classic system but introduce revised abilities, reworked talents and a new 16-point milestone. Use the interactive WoW Forever Talent Calculator below to choose any of the nine classes, allocate up to 51 points for a level-60 character and share your build. This guide also explains how talent rows unlock, what the live beta currently lets you test and how to approach leveling, PvE and PvP builds.

Updated September 22, 2026: The beta launched on September 17 with an initial level-20 cap; level 30 is planned for later testing. The calculator can display future level-60 layouts, but those deeper builds are planning tools, not proven endgame recommendations. Its local talent snapshot includes community-sourced preview data and some incomplete rank descriptions.

How WoW Forever Talents Work

Each original class still has three specialization trees. Spending five points in a tree unlocks its next row, although individual talents can have additional requirements, such as maximizing an earlier talent. You can specialize deeply in one tree or divide your available points across multiple trees. A hybrid distribution offers utility from different paths but may delay access to a deeper milestone.

Blizzard confirmed that the existing 11-, 21- and 31-point milestone talents remain, with a new one-point milestone at 16 points. That new choice sits between the familiar 11-point and 21-point milestones; it does not add a fourth specialization tree. Some patch-1.12 talents remain intact, while others are adjusted, relocated or replaced. Blizzard also made selected class buffs, including Divine Spirit, Blessing of Kings and Improved Mark of the Wild, baseline class abilities rather than mandatory talent investments.

Talent Points by Level and Milestone

Under the standard progression modeled by this calculator, your first point arrives at level 10 and you receive one additional point per level. Milestones below assume that you concentrate the required number of points in one tree; splitting points across trees delays your access to deeper talents.

Important distinction: these are ordinary class talent points, not account-wide Legacy Points. Blizzard's separate Legacy system grants progress through challenges and initially allows each character to spend up to 16 Legacy Points from an account-wide pool. This calculator models the standard class-talent budget; it does not merge Legacy perks into your class tree. Explore the Legacy Planner separately.

Warrior Talents: Arms, Fury and Protection

Arms emphasizes weapon-based attacks and tactical Rage spending, Fury focuses on aggressive melee damage, and Protection supplies shield and threat-management tools. The revised system gives Warriors more decisions around early combat flow and later defensive or dual-wield investments. When building for leveling, compare how reliably you can defeat consecutive enemies with how much health, Rage and weapon quality your route requires. For dungeons, tank talents should be assessed alongside actual threat and incoming damage, not damage alone.

Paladin Talents: Holy, Protection and Retribution

Paladins have the most extensively documented official class redesign. Holy Strike arrives at level 6, Seals no longer disappear when you cast Judgment, and Consecration becomes a baseline level-20 ability. Protection gains Seal of Fury, whose interaction with Judgment provides a taunt, while Holy receives additional healing and Mana tools. Retribution gains options such as Twist of Light for Seal Twisting. Importantly, Blizzard still intends Paladins to lack a conventional interrupt and certain slowing effects. These confirmed mechanics should inform talent planning before you commit to an ambitious level-60 simulation.

Hunter Talents: Beast Mastery, Marksmanship and Survival

Hunter talent choices revolve around whether your pet carries a large part of the workload, you prioritize ranged damage, or you want additional control and close-range options. The early preview suggests stronger separation between pet-oriented, pet-independent and melee/trap-oriented paths, but exact higher-rank outcomes still require beta verification. When comparing Hunter leveling builds, record pet uptime, feeding and training needs, ammunition and weapon upgrades as well as your talent points.

Rogue Talents: Assassination, Combat and Subtlety

Rogue builds make trade-offs between poison and finisher interactions, sustained weapon damage, and stealth-based control. A leveling configuration should account for Energy flow, hit reliability, downtime and access to suitable weapons. PvP configurations may distribute points differently to gain control or defensive tools. Preview talent names and prerequisites can still change, so save the calculator URL whenever you document a particular allocation.

Priest Talents: Discipline, Holy and Shadow

Discipline and Holy offer distinct healing and support routes, while Shadow provides a damage-focused path. At the current beta cap, early wand and Mana-efficiency investments can be tested; deeper healing and Shadow milestones cannot yet be validated through full-level gameplay. Blizzard has confirmed that Divine Spirit is moving out of the talent tree and into the baseline class toolkit, which changes the opportunity cost of some traditional support builds.

Shaman Talents: Elemental, Enhancement and Restoration

Elemental combines shocks and offensive casting, Enhancement connects melee attacks and weapon imbues, and Restoration supports healing and group utility. Forever also revises the itemization behind hybrid classes: Blizzard says melee, ranged and spell hit are combined, as are their corresponding critical-strike stats. That can materially change how you evaluate an Enhancement or hybrid build. Do not assume that an Enhancement threat-related talent confirms a fully supported Shaman tank role at launch.

Mage Talents: Arcane, Fire and Frost

Arcane emphasizes Mana and spell interactions, Fire revolves around offensive casting and critical-strike opportunities, and Frost offers control and consistent ranged combat. During beta, compare early leveling efficiency, control and spell availability separately from speculative level-60 raid damage. Mage-specific spell research and scroll mechanics are a separate progression consideration: talent points alone cannot capture their full value.

Warlock Talents: Affliction, Demonology and Destruction

Affliction centers on sustained damage and draining effects, Demonology enhances pet-related gameplay, and Destruction emphasizes direct spell damage. Talent planning should consider how your demons, Life Tap, Soul Shards and casting time interact with your chosen tree. Save different builds for solo questing and group content, where sustained damage, burst windows and survivability may require different investments.

Druid Talents: Balance, Feral Combat and Restoration

Druids can plan around spellcasting, cat/bear form combat or healing, but no single allocation fully covers every role. A Feral leveling setup may value reliable movement between pulls and form-specific damage; a tank setup must account for bear-form mitigation and threat; a Restoration setup depends on healing efficiency. Blizzard has also moved Improved Mark of the Wild into the baseline class toolkit, freeing up points previously associated with that group buff.

What Changed From Classic Talent Trees?

Forever's design is an evolution of the Classic system, not a copy of Retail's modern specialization trees. Blizzard has confirmed the existing tree layout, the extra 16-point milestone, numerous redesigned talents and selected baseline class buffs. The full beta dataset also contains new and modified talents beyond the Paladin examples discussed in the official deep dive, but individual ranks, icons and interactions should be verified against the current client before you treat a proposed build as final.

For the class-by-class breakdown, including distinctions between Blizzard-confirmed changes, beta observations and deeper projections, see our WoW Forever Class Changes & New Talents guide. This page focuses on planning and using the calculator; that guide focuses on the redesign itself.

How to Create a Practical Level-20 Beta Build

  1. Set the calculator to level 20: You have 11 points in its standard progression model, rather than the full level-60 budget.
  2. Choose your immediate objective: Solo questing, healing a group, dungeon tanking and PvP have different requirements. Do not optimize exclusively for a theoretical endgame talent.
  3. Map the first two rows: Spending five points in a tree opens the next row. Check whether the 11-point milestone in that tree is relevant to your actual gameplay at level 20.
  4. Check your spellbook and gear: A talent that modifies a spell or weapon style is useful only when you have the related ability and equipment.
  5. Copy the build link: The Share Build button opens the equivalent configuration on the main WoW Forever Tools calculator. Keep separate links for each activity.
  6. Revisit the build as the cap rises: At level 25, a focused tree can reach the new 16-point milestone; at level 30 it can reach the 21-point milestone.

Leveling, Dungeon, Raid and PvP Talent Planning

Solo Leveling

Evaluate damage consistency over a sequence of fights, how often you need to recover health or Mana, whether your pet or defensive tools keep you alive and when each important ability becomes available. A build that looks powerful with 51 points may be inconvenient with only 11. For a step-by-step route, use the relevant WoW Forever class guide.

Dungeon and Raid Builds

Build around your assigned role. Tanks need threat, mitigation and usable emergency tools; healers need sustainable throughput and relevant utility; damage dealers balance damage, threat, control and resource management. Blizzard's combined hit and critical-strike stats and new gear design mean Classic Era BiS assumptions should not be imported without checking Forever itemization. Level-60 raid builds are not fully testable in the current level-20 beta.

PvP Builds

Start with your class's actual control, mobility, defensive cooldowns and damage windows. A PvP build may sacrifice deeper damage talents for utility from a second tree. Race/class options and reworked racials also matter, so compare your preferred configuration with the current class guides rather than copying old Vanilla PvP templates directly.

Talent Calculator FAQ

Is the WoW Forever Talent Calculator free?

Yes. The embedded calculator and the full-size tool at wowforever.tools can be used without purchasing a service or creating an account.

How many talent points do I have at level 20 and level 60?

With standard progression, level 20 provides 11 class talent points and level 60 provides 51. The current calculator supports character levels 10–60.

When can I unlock the new 16-point talent?

Under standard point progression, level 25 is the earliest point at which you can invest 16 points in one tree. Spending points in other trees first postpones that milestone. The initial level-20 beta cap does not allow a standard 16-point talent build.

Are WoW Forever talents the same as Classic or Retail talents?

Neither. Forever keeps Classic's three-tree format and several original talents while redesigning other nodes and adding a 16-point milestone. It does not replace the system with Retail specialization trees.

Can I share and save my build?

Yes. Share Build copies a URL containing your class, level and selected talent ranks. Save that link in your bookmarks or send it to a friend. The calculator does not claim to store named builds in your ExpCarry account.

Are the calculator's exact talent descriptions final?

No. The current ExpCarry-linked tool uses a locally stored preview dataset, and some ranks have incomplete descriptions. Officially confirmed system rules are distinguished from community-sourced or unverified individual talent values.

What is the difference between class talents and Legacy talents?

Class talents specialize your character through its three class trees. The separate account-wide Legacy system rewards challenges, lets each character allocate Legacy perks and uses a different spending cap. It should be planned separately.

Does the German guide use the same calculator?

Yes. Both guides embed the same shared live widget and use the same underlying talent data. The widget's current interface and most talent names are in English.
