The best trinkets in WoW Midnight Season 2 depend heavily on your specialization, damage profile and content. There is no single pair that is BiS for every DPS, healer or tank. This guide instead identifies the strongest broad farming targets, explains where every important Season 2 trinket comes from, and shows which items should always be checked in your spec guide or simulation before you commit upgrade currency.
Best broad targets right now: physical DPS should pay close attention to Zul'jin's Guillotine Technique, Voracious Heart of Ula'tek, Keeper's Seething Core and Gebbo's Bottomless Bag. Caster DPS repeatedly value Wavecaller's Seastone, Gebbo's Bottomless Bag, Vile Vial of Volatile Venom, Stormbound Emblem of Dazar and Lightspire Core.
For healers, Soulcoiler Ritual Vessel is one of the most important Season 2 raid targets, with Wavecaller's Seastone and Gebbo's Bottomless Bag providing strong passive alternatives. Tanks should separate defensive trinkets from pure damage/stat options instead of blindly copying a DPS ranking.
Do not interpret this page as a universal BiS simulator. A trinket can be S-tier for one spec and mediocre for another because cooldown alignment, stat scaling, AoE profile and item interactions all matter.
Best Season 2 Trinkets at a Glance
| Role / Build | High-Priority Targets | Why They Matter |
|---|---|---|
| Strength / Agility DPS | Zul'jin's Guillotine Technique, Voracious Heart of Ula'tek, Keeper's Seething Core | High-end raid proc/on-use options that repeatedly appear near the top of current physical-DPS recommendations. |
| Caster DPS | Wavecaller's Seastone, Gebbo's Bottomless Bag, Vile Vial of Volatile Venom | Strong passive Intellect/stat options plus powerful spec-dependent on-use windows. |
| Healers | Soulcoiler Ritual Vessel, Wavecaller's Seastone, Gebbo's Bottomless Bag | Ritual Vessel offers a unique group defensive; passive stat trinkets remain reliable across many healing specs. |
| Tanks — offense | Keeper's Seething Core, Zul'jin's Guillotine Technique, Gebbo's Bottomless Bag | Primary-stat, secondary-stat and damage choices for tanks that do not need a defensive trinket. |
| Tanks — defense | First Mate's Shellward, Manaheart's Binding Flame, Mchimba's Ritual Bandages | Defensive value is tank-specific; do not assume the highest absorb automatically gives the highest overall performance. |
Best Strength & Agility DPS Trinkets
Passive physical proc with execute-style scaling. Particularly important for eligible specs that can also use its associated Warlord weapon interaction.
1.5-minute Strength/Agility on-use that becomes especially strong when your major cooldowns line up naturally with it.
Primary stat plus overlapping Haste procs. Excellent when Haste is already one of the spec's strongest secondaries.
Rotating secondary-stat effects make it broadly useful, though less predictable than a focused stat trinket.
Strong Mythic+ Alternatives
- Coiled Fangstone — Strength on-use from Altar of Fangs.
- Tattered Amani War Banner — useful for specs that value its cooldown profile.
- Lustrous Golden Plumage — Agility on-use from Kings' Rest.
- Blazebinder's Hoof — Haste on-use from Ruby Life Pools.
- Merektha's Fang — aimed damage on-use, particularly encounter/profile dependent.
- Sapling of the Dawnroot — useful for several physical specs, especially in the right target profile.
Best Caster DPS Trinkets
Haste plus a cycling Intellect effect. It repeatedly appears among strong passive options for current caster and healer specs.
A flexible stat proc that works well for specs that can make use of several different secondaries.
One of the most relevant dungeon on-use options for several current caster builds.
Strong for specs whose major damage windows align well with the trinket.
Other notable caster targets include Lightspire Core, Freightrunner's Flask, Hex Lord's Dooming Idol, Vexhul's Everflowing Gland and Fang of Umbral Malignance.
Active + passive is often the safest starting setup. One predictable on-use trinket can be aligned with your main cooldown window while one passive trinket continues to provide value between bursts.

| S | Wavecaller's Seastone | Nymrissa Wavecaller | Simple high-value passive Intellect profile. |
| A | Gebbo's Bottomless Bag | The Lost Explorers | Flexible passive stat value for healers comfortable with variable secondaries. |
| A | Hex Lord's Dooming Idol | The Coiled Altar | Can bank a large Intellect window; value depends strongly on timing and healer playstyle. |
| A | Freightrunner's Flask | Murder Row | Useful on-use secondary-stat option for healers that value Crit windows. |
Healer-Specific Dungeon Trinkets
- Mycolic Medicine — Den of Nalorakk.
- Unstable Felheart Crystal — Murder Row.
- Seed of Radiant Hope — The Blinding Vale.
- Kyrakka's Searing Embers — Ruby Life Pools.
Best Tank Trinkets
Tank trinkets require a different ranking philosophy. A defensive trinket can be invaluable for progression while providing less overall value on farm content than a damage or stat trinket.
| Use | Trinket | Source | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| General offense / stats | Keeper's Seething Core | Entombed Sentinels | Especially attractive to tanks that value Haste. |
| Pure damage | Zul'jin's Guillotine Technique | The Coiled Altar | Strong offensive option for eligible Strength/Agility tanks. |
| Defensive cooldown | First Mate's Shellward | The Lost Explorers | Real defensive utility; its value rises when survival is the limiting factor. |
| Passive damage | Tumor of the Swarm | Voidscar Arena | Useful dungeon option for tanks favoring offense. |
| Stat option | Resonant Bellowstone | Murder Row | Simple stat-focused alternative. |

Delve & Outdoor Trinkets Worth Knowing
Do not ignore Hero-track world and Delve trinkets just because they cannot always match a Myth-track raid item at maximum item level. Several remain excellent stepping stones and even competitive long-term alternatives.
- Drum of Renewed Bonds — customizable toward the secondary stat your build wants.
- Glorious Crusader's Keepsake — passive proc based on your highest secondary stat.
- Effigy of Ula'tek's Faithful — random secondary and tertiary stat proc.
How to Target-Farm the Trinket You Want
- Check whether the item is actually strong for your spec. Do not farm a popular trinket simply because another class ranks it S-tier.
- Set the correct loot specialization.
- Prefer a dungeon containing several usable items. This makes every run and Voidcore roll more efficient.
- Use +10 when you can. Season 2 +10 is the key standard Mythic+ power breakpoint.
- Use Nebulous Voidcores deliberately. Bonus-roll duplicate protection can gradually narrow the eligible pool.
- Compare item level before replacing a top effect. A Hero 6/6 excellent trinket may beat a mediocre Myth item.
Should You Sim Trinkets?
DPS players generally should. Trinkets are among the least reliable slots to judge by item level alone because their proc frequency, cooldown length, target count and stat interaction can outweigh raw item level.
For healers and tanks, simulation is only part of the answer. A group absorb, emergency defensive or mana/throughput profile can have progression value that a pure damage simulation does not capture.
Patch 12.1.5 Kith'ix Trinket Watchlist
Future content as of October 9. The Unbinding of Kith'ix opens with Patch 12.1.5 on October 13 NA / October 14 EU. These items are not included in the live ranking yet.
DPS. Primary stat plus stacking Critical Strike. The first hit on a new target can immediately grant multiple stacks, making it particularly interesting for multi-target content.
Healer. Healing can trigger a Haste window that scales further with the missing health of the healed target.
Tank. Creates a large stationary barrier and redirects part of nearby allies' incoming damage to the tank while the shield holds.
Kith'ix gear drops at a higher point in each track than normal early-raid loot, with Mythic versions reaching the special item level 344 tier. That alone makes these three trinkets important to retest immediately after release.
