WoW Forever Legendary Items Guide: New Questline, Reward and Datamined Steps

World of Warcraft: Forever is getting a completely new Legendary questline in Spring 2027. Blizzard has not revealed the Legendary's name, weapon type, stats or eligible classes, but recent beta datamining provides the first substantial clues about how the quest may work. Readable records point toward a multi-stage journey involving Moonglade, Un'Goro, Hyjal, an Elune ritual, crafting professions and a possible solo encounter connected to Archimonde.

Short answer: Blizzard has officially confirmed a new Legendary questline for Spring 2027, but the Legendary itself has not been revealed. Current datamining suggests a possible three-stage progression involving a Branch of Nordrassil, exploration objectives, a ritual, profession contributions and special combat encounters before the final reward.

WoW Forever New Legendary Release Window

The new Legendary questline is scheduled for Spring 2027 as part of Forever's first major post-launch content update. Blizzard has not announced an exact release date within that seasonal window.

The Spring update is also scheduled to add two raids, two dungeons, new quests, a new playable area and a PvP season refresh. That wider content package matters because several pieces of the Legendary datamining appear to connect the quest to world, profession and raid content rather than keeping it inside one isolated chain.

The Raid Legendary Tease and the Spring 2027 Questline

Blizzard has referenced Legendary content in two places that should not yet be treated as definitively identical. During the Forever reveal, Blizzard said that Hyjal Summit and the Barrow Deeps would bring raid encounters, new tier sets and a Legendary reward that will be revealed later. The roadmap separately lists a New Legendary Questline for Spring 2027.

Those announcements could eventually prove to describe connected progression, but Blizzard has not explicitly confirmed that the unrevealed raid Legendary reward and the Spring 2027 questline are the same reward. The first raids open on December 9, 2026, months before the Spring update.

The current datamining does create a strong potential connection to Hyjal. One readable Legendary-related spell references charging a Branch of Nordrassil with the power of Stormwraith, while other client data connects Stormwraith to Hyjal Summit encounter Sylvestris Dusksong. That is datamined supporting evidence, not an officially confirmed raid requirement.

How the Legendary Questline May Work

Readable beta records suggest that the Legendary progression may be divided into three stages, with separate tracking quests used to record advancement. Most of the important quest, item, map and encounter files remain encrypted, so the visible records reveal pieces of the framework rather than a complete walkthrough.

If the current structure survives development, the quest appears to be designed as a long-form Legendary adventure involving exploration, puzzles, crafting and special encounters instead of simply requiring players to collect one raid material repeatedly.

Moonglade and the Barrow Dens

One of the readable Legendary records references Moonglade, the Barrow Dens, a satyr and a conversation. That makes Moonglade one of the clearest currently visible locations associated with the questline.

Moonglade also fits the surrounding themes. The zone is closely associated with druids and the Cenarion Circle, while the Legendary datamining contains a separate faction record called Cenarion Circle (Legendary Event).

That special faction record should not be interpreted as confirmation of a new reputation grind. Current evidence is more consistent with an internal faction assignment for NPCs involved in the Legendary event.

The Un'Goro Pylon Puzzle

The questline also appears to send players to Un'Goro Crater. A readable tracking quest specifically references an Un'Goro Pylon Puzzle Solved state, although the actual puzzle and its solution remain hidden.

Un'Goro already contains Titan machinery, pylons and power-crystal themes, while Forever expands the area's Titan story through the Shaper's Terrace. The Legendary quest therefore appears capable of using existing Forever world content rather than introducing a completely unrelated location.

Players should not stockpile specific Red, Blue, Green or Yellow Power Crystals yet. Nothing in the readable Legendary data confirms that the old Un'Goro crystal items are required, and the reference to a pylon alone is not enough to establish a material requirement.

The Elune Ritual

Several datamined spells point toward a ritual associated with Elune. Readable records include Begin Ritual, Lunar Suffusion, Lunar Effusion, Lunar Saturation, ward-related effects and a Legendary Ritual Success state.

The visible records have led to the interpretation that the ritual may occur between stages of the Legendary progression. It is possible that players first obtain an early version of the Legendary object and then use the ritual to advance it, but that sequence is not officially confirmed.

The actual ritual mechanics remain hidden. There is no reliable information yet on whether it requires multiple players, special reagents, a timed puzzle, combat or another type of objective.

The Branch of Nordrassil and Stormwraith

One of the most important readable spell descriptions references charging a Branch of Nordrassil with the power of Stormwraith. This is currently the strongest evidence that a branch associated with Nordrassil may serve as an important quest object during Legendary progression.

The wording does not prove that Branch of Nordrassil is the finished Legendary's name or even its final form. It may be a temporary quest object that changes during several stages of the chain.

Stormwraith is connected in the current data to Sylvestris Dusksong through Everlasting Bond. One version of the effect states that Stormwraith shares health with Sylvestris Dusksong, who is listed among the Hyjal Summit encounters. This creates a plausible raid connection, although Stormwraith could still appear in a separate scenario or quest-specific version of the encounter.

Hyjal Summit May Be Part of Legendary Progression

Hyjal is the clearest potential raid connection in the current Legendary datamining. The Branch of Nordrassil, Stormwraith, Sylvestris Dusksong and the later Archimonde references all point toward content surrounding the World Tree and the aftermath of the Third War.

This does not establish a requirement to clear the entire Hyjal Summit raid. The final objective could involve one specific encounter, a quest version of an encounter, a raid quest item or an objective completed elsewhere on Mount Hyjal.

Blizzard's official announcement already connects Hyjal Summit and the Barrow Deeps with an unrevealed Legendary reward. However, until Blizzard reveals the actual quest objective, players should not treat any individual Hyjal boss as a confirmed Legendary drop source.

Hyjal Summit Bosses, Known Skills and Loot

The current beta Legacy data lists 13 encounters for Hyjal Summit. These names come from pre-release client data rather than a final live raid guide, and the Legacy list should not be treated as a confirmed kill order. The level-60 raid is not currently available for normal beta progression, so a complete strategy and boss-specific loot table do not yet exist.

The beta client does contain one broader raid-loot clue: Malleable Essence of Nature is obtained by disenchanting items from Hyjal Summit or the Barrow Deeps and is used in powerful crafted items. This confirms that the new raids have their own relevant item pool, but it does not reveal which boss drops each individual item.

Barrow Deeps Bosses and Current Loot Status

Barrow Deeps is the other new raid connected to Blizzard's Legendary reward tease. Current Legacy data lists eight encounters. Unlike the readable spell data attached to several Hyjal encounters, reliable boss-by-boss mechanics and loot assignments for Barrow Deeps are not currently available.

For now, any site presenting a complete Barrow Deeps or Hyjal Summit boss-loot table as final is getting ahead of the available data. The boss names are visible in Legacy records, several Hyjal mechanics can be reconstructed from spell data, and raid items clearly exist, but the final live encounter tuning and per-boss drop assignments remain unrevealed.

The Possible Archimonde's Fall Solo Encounter

Another major datamined clue points toward a special solo encounter connected to Archimonde. Legendary-related tracking records reference completion of a solo encounter, while related encrypted data and a separate location called Archimonde's Fall strengthen the connection.

This fits Forever's setting because Mount Hyjal is being explored in the aftermath of Archimonde's defeat at the end of Warcraft III. A quest scenario could therefore revisit the event or its consequences without making Archimonde a normal Hyjal Summit raid boss.

The available records do not establish exactly what the player fights. The scenario could involve Archimonde, an echo, a recreation of the historical battle or another challenge associated with his fall. The important encounter files remain encrypted, so no reliable skill list or loot table can currently be provided for this encounter.

Professions May Be Required for the Legendary

Crafting appears to play a meaningful role in the Legendary quest. The readable data shows several profession-related quest checks while the actual Legendary reagent files remain largely encrypted.

The current quest-state data appears to contain six separate checks, which is consistent with contributions from all six primary crafting professions. That does not mean the Legendary owner will personally need all six professions; the system could instead require materials crafted by other players.

There is no reason to buy or stockpile specific Legendary materials yet. The relevant reagent identities and quantities remain hidden, and Blizzard can still change the requirements before Spring 2027.

Which Classes May Be Able to Use the New Legendary?

Blizzard has not announced class eligibility. Datamining has produced a theory that the Legendary may be intended primarily for healers, but that conclusion remains speculative and should not be presented as a class restriction.

The theory comes partly from class-related data found near the encrypted Legendary records and from the nature-focused Branch of Nordrassil theme. Priest, Druid and Shaman appear in the current discussion because of those clues, but there is not yet a readable final Legendary item record proving which classes can equip it.

Paladin remains particularly uncertain in the current theory. One item used to support the healer interpretation does not mention Paladins, but that record is explicitly marked as not used. The final weapon type is also unknown: a staff or dagger would naturally create different class restrictions from a mace.

Until the final item record or Blizzard's reveal becomes available, there is no reliable class priority list and no reason to create or reroll a character solely because of the current datamine.

New Legendary vs. Classic Legendary Items

The Spring 2027 questline should not be confused with classic Legendary weapons already represented in Forever's data. Existing records include Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker, Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros and the class versions of Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian.

The presence of those records does not prove that every classic Legendary is obtainable immediately when Forever launches. Availability still depends on the associated raid, quest and progression content being active.

How to Prepare for the New Legendary Questline

There is not enough final information to pre-farm the Legendary safely. Preparation should therefore focus on general endgame readiness rather than guessed reagents or unconfirmed class requirements.

• Reach level 60 and maintain a raid-capable character before the Spring 2027 update.
• Progress through Mount Hyjal and the first Forever raid tier, especially if the current Hyjal connection survives development.
• Keep convenient travel access to Moonglade, Un'Goro and Mount Hyjal.
• Develop useful profession connections instead of changing professions solely for an unconfirmed Legendary requirement.
• Do not buy large quantities of old Un'Goro crystals based only on the pylon reference.
• Do not assign guild Legendary priority based on the current healer theory.
• Watch Sylvestris Dusksong and Stormwraith data closely because they currently provide the clearest raid connection.
• Expect the quest to involve more than raid drops if the exploration, puzzle, profession and solo-encounter structure survives development.

The safest preparation is a well-developed level-60 character with access to the relevant endgame zones, raid progression and a healthy profession network. More specific farming should wait until Blizzard reveals the quest objectives or the encrypted Legendary files become readable.

Conclusion

The Spring 2027 WoW Forever Legendary questline is currently shaping up as a world-spanning progression path rather than a simple weapon drop. Readable beta records connect Moonglade, an Un'Goro pylon puzzle, an Elune ritual, a Branch of Nordrassil, Stormwraith, Sylvestris Dusksong, crafting professions and a possible Archimonde-related solo encounter.
