World of Warcraft: Forever keeps the level cap at 60, has no level scaling or flying mounts, and adds more than 1,000 new quests across the journey, so an efficient Alliance route is no longer just a copy of a solved Vanilla path. The best current plan is to use your racial starting zone through roughly level 10, converge on Alliance quest hubs and Hall of Thanes in the teens, use Wetlands and the new Excavation Site in the 20s, move through Stranglethorn and the Riverglades in the mid-30s to mid-40s, then finish through high-level Classic zones and new dungeons such as Alcaz Prison, Blackmaw Hold and Shaper's Terrace. The route below is a pre-launch skeleton: levels 1-20 can now be checked against the live beta, while the 20-60 sequence uses Blizzard-confirmed zone and dungeon brackets and must still be tested as higher-level beta content and the live game become available.

What is the fastest Alliance leveling route in WoW Forever?
Use your racial starting zone first, consolidate quests instead of clearing every zone, fit new dungeons into their intended brackets, make the Riverglades a major mid-game block around the mid-30s to mid-40s, and avoid long cross-continent detours unless they unlock several objectives at once.

How long will Alliance 1-60 take in WoW Forever?
There is no reliable full 1-60 time yet. The current beta began with a level-20 cap and is scheduled to increase to level 30 later, so no player can currently measure a complete live 1-60 Forever route. Classic-era completion times can provide broad context, but they should not be presented as a WoW Forever estimate because quest density, class tuning, dungeon quest XP, gear and travel have changed.

What is the best new leveling zone for Alliance?
The Riverglades is the clearest new mid-level destination. Blizzard's latest Found Photos recap describes a zone roughly the size of Stranglethorn Vale with nearly 200 quests for Horde and Alliance players, covering much of the mid-30s to mid-40s journey.

Which new dungeons should Alliance players use while leveling?
Hall of Thanes 13-18, Excavation Site: Wetlands 24-29, City of Dalaran 28-33, The Drowned City 35-40, Krol'dok Stronghold 40-45, Alcaz Prison 48-53, Blackmaw Hold 55-60 and Shaper's Terrace 58-60 fit naturally into an Alliance route. Ruins of Lordaeron 15-20 is also available, but reaching Forsaken territory is less convenient for Alliance groups.

Should I level professions while going to 60?
Yes. Forever adds more than 600 profession recipes, updated crafted food and profession objects for the Camping system, while Legacy also includes profession-oriented perks. Gathering and crafting therefore have meaningful uses during the leveling journey rather than only at level 60.

Last updated: September 19, 2026. This is a beta-era route skeleton. The current beta provides playable content through level 20 and is planned to raise the cap to 30 later. Routing above the available beta cap, completion-time estimates and final zone efficiency must be rebuilt as Blizzard unlocks more testing and again after the November 4 launch.

WoW Forever Alliance Leveling Route at a Glance

The table gives a practical path rather than a mandatory sequence. Forever has no level scaling, but Blizzard is deliberately adding alternate quests and routes, so you should leave a zone when its connected quests become inefficient instead of completing every hub. The official Found Photos recap also confirms new travel links such as Stormwind Harbor to Auberdine and additional Menethil, Southshore and Auberdine connections, giving Alliance players more flexibility than an original 2004 route.

No full-route time estimate is included because the current beta cannot validate levels 20-60. Even within the playable range, class tuning, quest choices, professions, grouping and dungeon availability can materially change the result. Blizzard has also deliberately reduced the importance of repeated dungeon-mob grinding while making dungeon quests much more rewarding, so a final speed route needs to measure first-run dungeon quests separately from repeated clears.

Levels 1-10: Start in Your Racial Zone

Humans should begin in Elwynn Forest, Dwarves and Gnomes in Dun Morogh, and Night Elves in Teldrassil. Forever keeps those familiar racial starts while adding new NPCs, quests, profession hooks and environmental changes. Do not immediately abandon the racial route just because an old Classic guide claims a different starting zone saves several minutes.

  • Human: move naturally from Northshire into Elwynn Forest, then prepare to enter Westfall around the low teens.
  • Dwarf or Gnome: clear Coldridge Valley or the appropriate opening path and continue through Dun Morogh, with Ironforge becoming especially valuable because Hall of Thanes is directly beneath the city.
  • Night Elf: use Teldrassil, then move toward Darkshore. The new ship connections make later cross-continent regrouping with Human, Dwarf and Gnome friends less painful than in original Classic.
  • Alliance Skyborne: stay on Zephras Isle through its intended 1-12 experience rather than leaving early. It is a purpose-built starter experience, and your faction is selected at character creation. Access to the Skyborne race and Zephras Isle requires the Skyborne Heroic Pack or an edition that includes it.

Blizzard is intentionally putting new moments inside the old starting paths, so this is one of the worst places to use an untouched Vanilla speedrun route. Take new quests that overlap your existing path, but skip long isolated objectives when they create excessive travel for little other progress.

If class choice matters more than shaving minutes from the first zone, use the verified WoW Forever class tier list to compare leveling outlook separately from raid DPS and PvP. Route efficiency cannot completely remove the downtime, mobility or recovery differences between classes.

Alliance Skyborne: Zephras Isle 1-12

Alliance Skyborne follow a different opening from Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes and Night Elves. Blizzard confirms Zephras Isle as a dedicated level 1-12 experience. Alliance-aligned Skyborne can be Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, Druid or Mage; the Shaman option is exclusive to Horde-aligned Skyborne.

The efficient approach is to finish the connected island story instead of trying to leave for Elwynn or Dun Morogh at the first possible moment. The island is designed as the Skyborne starting experience, provides their early progression and introduces Forever-specific content. Once the faction handoff sends you into wider Azeroth, join whichever Alliance route best matches your level and your friends.

Do not assume the fastest Human route is automatically the fastest Skyborne route. Zephras Isle has its own quest density and travel pattern, and the beta is still the only reliable environment for measuring how quickly those quests chain together.

Levels 10-20: Westfall, Loch Modan, Darkshore and Hall of Thanes

This bracket is where Alliance routes begin to merge. Humans can continue into Westfall and Redridge, Dwarves and Gnomes can use Loch Modan and early Wetlands, while Night Elves can remain in Darkshore before using the new travel network to meet the rest of the faction. Hall of Thanes is the first major Forever-specific dungeon checkpoint for Alliance routing.

For an Eastern Kingdoms character, a practical sequence is to quest until roughly 13-15, collect the available dungeon objectives, run Hall of Thanes while it still matches your level, then resume outdoor questing. Blizzard's current official ranges list Hall of Thanes for levels 13-18 and Ruins of Lordaeron for 15-20, and both are included in the first beta testing phase.

Hall of Thanes is particularly convenient for Alliance because it sits beneath Ironforge. Ruins of Lordaeron is less convenient: it is centered on Forsaken territory, so Alliance players have a less direct trip and should treat it as optional content rather than a mandatory speed-route stop.

Players who want the whole 1-60 progression completed rather than routing it manually can use the verified WoW Forever 1-60 leveling service after launch. Before November 4 it is a pre-order and does not imply live 1-60 leveling access.

Best Alliance Route from Level 20 to 30

Levels 20-30 are still a projected route because the current beta cap is 20, although Blizzard plans to increase it to 30 later in the test. The logical Alliance backbone is to connect Duskwood, Wetlands and the confirmed new dungeon brackets without creating excessive travel. A Human-route character can spend time in Duskwood and then move north when Wetlands quests and Excavation Site become efficient. A Dwarf or Gnome already operating around Wetlands has an especially natural path into the new dungeon.

  1. 20-24: use Duskwood, Wetlands or remaining level-appropriate Redridge quests. Prioritize dense clusters over complete zone clears.
  2. 24-29: make Wetlands a major stop and include Excavation Site: Wetlands while its official 24-29 bracket is relevant.
  3. 28-30: begin moving toward Alterac-area content and City of Dalaran, whose official bracket extends from 28 to 33.

The goal is not to visit all three areas in a rigid order. If your quest log is full of connected Duskwood objectives at 24, finish the cluster before traveling. If you are already in Wetlands with a dungeon group ready, run Excavation Site before spending a long period moving somewhere else.

Forever adds enough quests that over-clearing may become a real possibility. The early beta already shows a denser quest environment than untouched Vanilla routes in several areas, but the exact 20-30 pacing cannot be measured until that content is available. If quests become low-value for your level and another nearby zone or dungeon offers better progression, move on rather than finishing a checklist for its own sake.

Where the Nine New Dungeons Fit into Alliance Leveling

The new dungeons are the clearest fixed checkpoints in a pre-launch 1-60 route because Blizzard has now published their corrected level ranges. An official Blizzard forum clarification corrected Krol'dok Stronghold to 40-45 and listed the entire nine-dungeon set, replacing incorrect ranges circulated immediately after BlizzCon.

DungeonOfficial RangeAlliance Route Use
Hall of Thanes13-18High priority because it is beneath Ironforge and fits the first major Alliance group-content window
Ruins of Lordaeron15-20Optional Alliance detour into Forsaken territory; useful for new content, not mandatory for speed
Excavation Site: Wetlands24-29Excellent fit with Alliance Wetlands questing
City of Dalaran28-33Useful bridge from late-20s questing into the early-30s
The Drowned City35-40Pairs naturally with Stranglethorn and the transition into the Riverglades window
Krol'dok Stronghold40-45Fits directly into the Riverglades level window and gives the zone a major dungeon checkpoint
Alcaz Prison48-53Useful if your route already sends you toward Dustwallow Marsh or you have several dungeon objectives ready
Blackmaw Hold55-60Late-leveling dungeon in Azshara and a natural stop during the final stretch to 60
Shaper's Terrace58-60Final leveling and level-60 dungeon option in Un'Goro

Do not spam every new dungeon by default. Blizzard developers have said dungeon creature XP is being reduced while dungeon quest XP is being increased substantially, making a quest-complete first run much more attractive than repeatedly farming the same instance. Travel, group formation and wipe time still matter, so the live game needs to establish real XP-per-hour before any repeated-dungeon route can be called optimal.

Levels 30-35: Use Familiar Hubs to Reach the Riverglades Window

The early 30s are a transition bracket. Stranglethorn, Arathi Highlands, Desolace and other familiar mid-level areas remain useful, while City of Dalaran stays relevant through level 33. The main objective is to reach the mid-30s without locking yourself into long chains that make you miss the beginning of the Riverglades level window.

Alliance players in the Eastern Kingdoms have a natural reason to use Stranglethorn because The Drowned City opens at 35-40 and the Riverglades is also in the Eastern Kingdoms. This keeps travel compact: quest in a level-appropriate hub, run the new dungeon when a group is ready, then move into the frontier zone as its quests become appropriate.

If you prefer Kalimdor, Desolace becomes more interesting because Shen'dralas opens south of Desolace through the Valley of Bones and ties into Eldre'Thalas, Dire Maul and the centaur tribes. However, Blizzard has not published a precise Shen'dralas level bracket, so do not force it into a 30-35 speed route until its live quest levels are verified.

Levels 35-45: Make Riverglades the Core Mid-Game Zone

The Riverglades is the strongest new route-planning change in the middle of Alliance leveling. Blizzard's latest Found Photos recap describes it as a zone roughly the size of Stranglethorn Vale with nearly 200 quests for Horde and Alliance players, covering much of the mid-30s to mid-40s experience. It is large enough to function as a major leveling destination instead of a brief side trip.

The WoW Forever new zones guide tracks its published range and the still-unconfirmed exact brackets for Shen'dralas and Mount Hyjal. For the leveling route, the important decision is to enter the Riverglades with enough room in your level bracket to use its connected quest chains before they become inefficient.

A practical sequence is:

  1. 35-40: begin the Riverglades or use Stranglethorn plus The Drowned City if those quests are already convenient.
  2. 40-45: continue the most efficient Riverglades chains and include Krol'dok Stronghold while it remains in its official bracket.
  3. Leave early if necessary: with nearly 200 quests available across both factions, you are not expected to complete every chain on one character before moving on.

The new Steamwheedle Cartel ship route from Tanaris toward the Riverglades adds another travel option, but an Alliance character already questing in the Eastern Kingdoms should not cross to Tanaris solely to use that boat unless the rest of the route benefits. Travel efficiency comes from chaining several objectives, not collecting every new transport link.

Players comparing self-play with other progression options can use the verified WoW Forever services hub. The route in this guide remains complete for players leveling the character themselves.

Shen'dralas: Optional Until Its Exact Level Bracket Is Published

Shen'dralas is confirmed launch content, but it should not be assigned an invented exact level range. Blizzard places it south of Desolace through the Valley of Bones and connects it to the Shen'dralar, Eldre'Thalas, Dire Maul and the centaur tribes, but it has not published a minimum and maximum quest bracket.

For Alliance players, the sensible plan is to inspect Shen'dralas when nearby Desolace or Feralas content is level-appropriate. If its live quests line up with your character, it can replace part of the old Kalimdor route. If you are already deep into an efficient Riverglades chain on the Eastern Kingdoms side, crossing the world only to sample Shen'dralas may be slower.

This is exactly the kind of decision that must be retested as higher-level beta content and then the live game become available. Quest XP, travel connections and prerequisite chains will determine whether Shen'dralas becomes part of the fastest route or primarily an alternate replay path.

Levels 45-50: Feralas, Tanaris, Hinterlands and Searing Gorge

Once the Riverglades stops matching your level, return to the densest available high-40s hubs rather than searching for one mandatory Forever zone. Feralas, Tanaris, the Hinterlands and Searing Gorge give several viable directions depending on where your character already is and which flight paths are open.

This bracket should be treated as a connector until higher-level testing is available. Complete chains that keep objectives close together, gather profession materials while traveling, and avoid cross-continent jumps for one isolated quest reward. If Shen'dralas proves efficient in the live build, it can replace part of this section; if not, familiar zones remain the stable fallback.

Alcaz Prison begins at 48 and runs through 53. It is worth a trip when you can bundle the dungeon with other Dustwallow objectives or when your group has several quests ready. A single dungeon run that requires excessive group-building and travel time is not automatically efficient just because the instance is new.

Levels 50-60: Build a Flexible High-Level Loop

The final ten levels should combine high-level quest hubs with the last three new dungeons. Un'Goro, Felwood, Western Plaguelands, Burning Steppes, Eastern Plaguelands, Winterspring, Silithus and Azshara all provide route options. Forever also adds or revises quests and rewards in familiar regions, so live quest density matters more than an old zone-ranking chart.

LevelPrimary Route OptionsDungeon / Forever Priority
50-53Un'Goro, Felwood, Western Plaguelands or remaining high-value mid-level chainsAlcaz Prison while still in its 48-53 bracket
53-55Felwood, Un'Goro, Western Plaguelands, Burning SteppesPrepare travel and quest logs for the 55-60 dungeon window
55-58Burning Steppes, Eastern Plaguelands, Winterspring, AzsharaBlackmaw Hold 55-60
58-60Eastern Plaguelands, Winterspring, Silithus, remaining high-level quest chainsShaper's Terrace 58-60; Blackmaw Hold remains relevant
60Evaluate Mount Hyjal and other endgame outdoor progression when live requirements are confirmedTransition from leveling into level-60 dungeons, reputations and December raid preparation

Mount Hyjal is clearly part of Forever's late-game and endgame world, but Blizzard has not published a complete minimum-to-maximum outdoor quest bracket. Do not invent a 50-55 or 55-60 Hyjal route before the live requirements are known; treat it as part of the transition into level-60 progression until testing establishes where its quest chains actually begin.

Professions While Leveling: Gather on the Route, Do Not Backtrack

Forever makes professions more relevant before level 60. Blizzard's Forever Deep Dive confirms more than 600 new recipes across professions and level ranges, adjusted crafted food that can grant a small experience bonus and stat boosts, profession-based Camping objects and advanced Blueprint recipes from dungeon bosses. The first campsite objects are learned once a profession reaches skill 20.

The efficient leveling rule is to gather materials you encounter naturally, train when the route already takes you near a city or hub, and avoid repeated low-level backtracking. A profession is valuable when it piggybacks on travel you were already doing.

  • Gathering: Mining, Herbalism and Skinning naturally add materials and gold potential during normal quest movement.
  • Crafting: keep recipes current when the resulting gear, consumables or Camping contribution is actually useful, but do not stop leveling for every minor skill point.
  • Cooking: becomes more relevant because crafted food can provide stat bonuses and a small experience bonus, while upgraded campfires increase campsite capacity.
  • Group professions: friends can spread different profession contributions across a campsite instead of duplicating every utility.

The WoW Forever Camping guide explains the beta-era camp requirements, profession objects and current cooldown behavior. Use a camp before a long quest or dungeon segment when its buffs, repairs, vendors or profession workspace justify the short rest.

How Legacy Perks Change Alt Leveling

The first Alliance character should not be routed as if it already has every Legacy advantage. Blizzard designed the Legacy System to reward repeated journeys: Legacy Points are shared across alts, while each character spends those points separately. At launch each character can spend up to 16 points in its Legacy Trees, while the account can initially earn up to 65 Legacy Points through challenges.

The Adventure tree includes Well Rested, which improves rested experience gains and raises the rested XP cap. The Professions tree includes Bountiful Harvest, which improves materials obtained through Mining, Herbalism and Skinning. These perks can change how a later Alliance alt approaches downtime, gathering and rested experience compared with the first character.

The WoW Forever Legacy System guide covers the trees and beta-confirmed perk structure. For routing purposes, the important principle is that alts can use different character-specific perk allocations even though the earned Legacy Point pool is shared across the account.

How Long Does Alliance Leveling 1-60 Take?

There is no reliable final Forever 1-60 time yet. The beta opened with a level-20 cap and Blizzard plans to raise it to 30 later, meaning a complete 1-60 route cannot currently be measured in the actual Forever environment.

Do not treat Classic 1-60 records or generic 80-, 100- or 150-hour estimates as verified Forever numbers. Blizzard is keeping the level-60 journey important, but Forever changes quest density, talents, itemization, professions, food, dungeon quest XP and travel, all of which can alter total time.

Early beta feedback on leveling speed is mixed. Some testers report smoother or faster progress because more quests are available and some classes have stronger leveling tools, while others still record long Classic-like play sessions through the teens. With the cap still at 20, neither observation can safely be extrapolated to level 60.

The final estimate should be added after launch using measured routes by class. Hunter, Warlock, Mage, Warrior, Rogue and other classes can have very different downtime, while grouping, professions, PvP deaths, travel choices and dungeon availability can change the total substantially.

Best Alliance Classes for Faster Leveling

Route quality matters, but class downtime and mobility matter as well. The current beta does not provide enough level-60 evidence for a final speed ranking, so the useful comparison is each class's leveling toolkit rather than a stopwatch leaderboard.

  • Hunter: pet tanking, ranged pulls and mobility tools make it a strong candidate for consistent solo progression.
  • Warlock: demons, damage over time, drains and Life Tap can reduce recovery downtime when managed efficiently.
  • Mage: self-made food and water, crowd control and strong ranged tools remain useful for efficient questing and grinding.
  • Druid: forms, healing, stealth and role flexibility can reduce travel and recovery losses.
  • Paladin: strong survival and self-healing remain valuable, while Forever adds and revises several abilities and talents that change the leveling toolkit from original Classic.
  • Dwarf Shaman: a new Alliance race-class combination in Forever with healing, weapon support and Ghost Wolf mobility, but its full-route leveling performance still needs higher-level testing.

Do not choose a main only because one class is projected to save several hours. Forever is designed as a long-term level-60 game, so raid role, PvP preference, professions and how much you enjoy the class will matter well beyond the first leveling route.

Gold and Riding While Leveling

Travel efficiency depends on money as well as zone order. The Deep Dive confirms that Forever adopts a Burning Crusade-style mount-cost approach: more of the cost is moved into riding training, and a mount is granted when you learn the riding skill. Blizzard has not published the final riding levels and gold costs in the official material used for this route, so do not build the guide around an unverified gold target.

Vendor junk regularly, use the Auction House when a material is genuinely valuable, and avoid buying every small gear upgrade while leveling. Training, professions, consumables and riding all compete for the same budget.

The verified WoW Forever Gold service is currently a pre-order. Live delivery and real market prices only become meaningful after November 4 and after sufficient gold supply has developed, so this guide does not use pre-launch shop availability as evidence for a gold-per-hour estimate.

Alliance Leveling Mistakes to Avoid

The biggest losses in Forever are likely to come from travel and poor route decisions rather than from failing to copy a perfect quest order. More available quests create more choices, which also creates more opportunities to spend a long time moving for an objective that is no longer efficient.

  • Do not complete every quest in every zone. With more than 1,000 new quests across Forever, one character is not expected to clear every route before 60.
  • Do not follow a Vanilla route without checking new quest hubs. Old guides do not account for the Riverglades, new dungeons, revised travel or new starter quests.
  • Do not force Ruins of Lordaeron into every Alliance route. It is new and interesting, but its location makes it less convenient than Hall of Thanes for a pure Alliance speed route.
  • Do not stay in the Riverglades only because the zone has nearly 200 quests. Leave when available chains no longer match your level or route.
  • Do not assign Shen'dralas a fake level bracket. Check the live quest levels before deciding where it fits.
  • Do not assume repeated dungeon farming is optimal. Blizzard is reducing dungeon creature XP and emphasizing dungeon quest XP, so the valuable run may be the quest-complete first clear rather than repeated mob grinding.
  • Do not postpone all professions until 60. Forever gives them leveling, food and Camping value.
  • Do not spend all early gold on minor upgrades. Preserve flexibility for training, professions and riding.

The fastest route will be adaptive. If a zone is crowded, if a dungeon group is ready immediately, or if a new quest chain has much better density than expected, change the route rather than protecting a pre-launch spreadsheet.

WoW Forever Alliance Leveling FAQ

These answers cover the main searches around Alliance 1-60 routing, the Riverglades, dungeon timing, profession leveling, total hours and beta limitations.

What is the best WoW Forever Alliance leveling route?
Start in the correct racial zone, use Westfall, Loch Modan or Darkshore through the teens, integrate Hall of Thanes, move through Wetlands and Excavation Site in the 20s, use the Riverglades heavily around the mid-30s to mid-40s, then finish through high-level Classic zones plus Alcaz Prison, Blackmaw Hold and Shaper's Terrace. The exact 20-60 order remains provisional until higher-level content can be tested.

Should Alliance players level in the Riverglades?
Yes. Blizzard's latest Found Photos recap describes nearly 200 quests for Horde and Alliance players in a zone roughly the size of Stranglethorn Vale, covering much of the mid-30s to mid-40s journey.

What level is Hall of Thanes?
Blizzard's current official bracket is 13-18. It is beneath Ironforge, making it especially convenient for Alliance leveling.

What level is Krol'dok Stronghold?
40-45. Blizzard corrected an earlier incorrect range, so guides still listing it as 40-55 are outdated.

How many hours does 1-60 take?
No verified Forever 1-60 number exists yet because the current beta does not allow a complete run to level 60. A reliable estimate should be based on measured live routes after launch rather than copied Classic times or pre-launch forecasts.

Should I level professions while leveling?
Yes if the profession fits your plan. Forever adds more than 600 recipes, updated crafted food, profession campsite objects and Legacy interactions, so professions have practical value before level 60.

Does Legacy make Alliance alts faster?
It can improve parts of alt progression. Legacy Points are shared across alts, each character spends them separately, and perks such as Well Rested can improve rested experience. At launch each character can spend up to 16 points, while the account can initially earn up to 65.

Conclusion

The best WoW Forever Alliance leveling route is a flexible 1-60 backbone, not a fixed Vanilla quest script. Use your racial start, converge on Hall of Thanes and Alliance quest hubs in the teens, make Wetlands and Excavation Site: Wetlands important in the 20s, reach the Riverglades with room to use its mid-30s to mid-40s content, and finish with high-level Classic zones plus Alcaz Prison, Blackmaw Hold and Shaper's Terrace. Treat Shen'dralas and the exact Mount Hyjal transition as flexible until their live quest requirements are fully verified.

This version should be considered the beta skeleton. Levels 1-20 can already be checked against playable content, while the complete 20-60 path still needs higher-level beta testing and live XP, travel and quest-density measurements. After November 4, the route should be rebuilt from actual Alliance completion times by class, then refined again once player traffic, dungeon efficiency and the new-zone economy settle.
